Brownstone has made its legacy in Bergen County and it never disappoints. First of all, I appreciate the valet parking. There's never a set price and it makes it very convenient, especially in "hard to find parking" Edgewater. Even though the restaurant is ALWAYS packed, they do a great job at treating their customers with patience, professionalism, and a smile. We were no different, as Cami was a delightful Server. She went above and beyond for our comfort and even offered us a free colossal ice cream float (that another customer did not want), which we declined, or else it would have added a sweet and delightful 3,800 calories. I started with a Mocha Cappuccino and it was amazing. The drizzle of chocolate, after being stirred throughout the mug, adds the perfect amount of sweetness that does not require added sugar. It also makes you forget about the cold that inevitably you'll have to endure after the meal. During this visit, we ordered the following: Blueberry Pancakes (Fresh blueberries baked inside and on to top, served with blueberry compote on the side). These blueberries were not only exquisite, but there were enough blueberries/compote to accompany every bite. The other was the Gourmet Mushroom & Stomach Omelet (With fresh mushrooms, spinach, garlic & goat cheese). Every ingredient was fresh, the goat cheese was so deliciously creamy, and to-go boxes were necessary, because Brownstone always serves large portions. Will I return to Brownstone?.... ABSOLUTELY. Do I recommend it?....I don't have to.....it's already a Bergen County celebrity and sets the bar high for other breakfast eateries.
Brownstone Pancake Factory didn't disappoint. This dinner had an unbelievable amount of options. I went with the breakfast combo and the best part was the fluffy pancakes. The place seemed to be a little expensive but what isn't nowadays. When we pulled up we had vallet parking and lucky today it wasn't packed but I've heard on the weekends you can wait for hours. Service was on point and the place seemed to be warm and welcoming. Wish I took more pictures!
Brownstone!! You did not disappoint! We celebrated my daughter's golden birthday there and everything from greeting to service was on point! The restaurant is very clean, and all the staff are very welcoming! The attentiveness of our waiter was above and beyond! So Thank you Alfanso S. for your service and making my daughter's day special! The prices of the food is worth it because it's a lot of food! They have a coffee bar so Thank goodness good amounts of caffeine were available. I had like 2 lattes back to back. The parking is valet so bring some cash for tip! I'm very happy we chose Brownstone to start my daughter's birthday celebration!!! Enjoy!
Was in NJ/NYC for the holidays and got to meet up with some family and try this spot out for brunch. We had a group of 6 and got there around 11am and were seated right away. The menu is huge, the ambiance is fun and so is the vibe. Staff was nice and all the food arrived pretty quickly. I had their croissant breakfast sandwich and their biscuits and gravy. My fiancé had peanut butter pancakes that were stacked and delicious. The rest of the family had a variety of meals from French onion soup to omelets. Everyone was happy and satisfied. Would definitely go back!
I haven't been here in years. The first thing we were not thrilled with was you have to valet. There is no other option. We don't love to valet so we were disappointed with this aspect. One of the most things I appreciated with the overall experience was Roger. He was very friendly and when he seated us, he sat us at a roomy table. This was great! Many restaurants don't pay attention to people's sizes and sit them in inappropriate seating. My husband is a big guy and is often uncomfortable. So kudos to Roger for seeing and knowing this. Our waiter was also very nice. His name was Adrian. I also liked the decor. The thing we were not that impressed with was the taste of the food and the look of it. It was average at best. They had gluten free pancakes, but would have been nice to know the ingredients. I did not ask but did not see on the menu. You also had to get 2 egg whites. My husband's omelette also did not seem like it had much cheese. He left 1/2 of it which he does not do often. Also the bathroom was small & very crowded. 2 stalls and 1 sink. This was not enough for how many people were there and I found myself waiting longer than you should have to. The one other thing that seemed enjoyable was the birthday celebrations. They pulled out all stops and I'm sure those pictures are great. The regular hot coffee was also good. I would go back and try lunch or dinner hoping for a better food tasting experience.
Man, this place is packed. Luckily there is valet parking because otherwise I would have had to drive on past. At 10:30ish on a Sunday, there were a lot of people waiting, but as a party of 2, we were luckily seated immediately. I'm sure results vary. Even though it was packed, it wasn't overly noisy. Despite the packed house, our server was really good about getting our order and coffee refills. There are a lot of good options on the menu, but I went with the meat combo omelet. It was really packed heavy with meat and came with a hearty portion of home fries. My friend got the blueberry coconut French toast which looked like a beautiful dessert, but the combo comes with a big sausage link and eggs to add a little meal variety. The food and service were a definite 5. They don't take reservations/call ahead seating, so I recommend getting here earlier if you don't want to wait. Otherwise, it's a solid brunch option.
Love to come to this restaurant! When you arrive, they have valet parking only. Make sure to bring a few bucks to tip the valet staff (I don't always carry cash so I feel bad not tipping when we leave). But yeah, so the place itself is nice and big. The staff I had help my table were always so nice and friendly. The menu has so many yummy options and the food portion is big so get ready to either grub or take home some of your left overs lol. I came here 3 times so far and will be coming more in the future!
Brownstone Pancake Factory is a whole vibe . The portions are insane like, when you order a milkshake, it's not just a milkshake, it's an art piece. Super extra, super fantastic, and totally worth it. We loved every single dish! Everything we tried was delicious, and the staff is so friendly. Perfect spot for a family brunch, catching up with friends, or just treating yourself. Definitely coming back and if you want brunch done right, this is it.
I came here for breakfast with my cousin. We wanted to grab breakfast before heading to Sojo Spa down the block. We got to the restaurant around 8:45am. They had a menu with discounts for customers who came in before 10am. We both ordered the 2 eggs, bacon, 1 sausage, and 2 pancake meal with a side of potatoes. The food came out quickly. The food was so delicious! YUM! The pancakes were really fluffy and the powdered sugar added just the right touch. The food was extremely filling. The meal was only $12 so the bill came to around $40 for the both of us. I'm definitely going to stop here before going to the spa moving forward. Perfect spot! *Service was great and the restaurant was clean. Nice atmosphere too.
Brownstone pancake factory has an elevated diner feel. They have a really extensive menu and I believe the breakfast is made to order. The pancakes are delicious and fresh. I loved the letter "B" they made with the powered sugar! I took my friend here for her birthday breakfast and she was delighted. It was her first time at Brownstone and loved the breakfast. She had the Baja Skillet which was hot and fresh. I had the pancake breakfast combo and subbed the buttermilk pancakes for chocolate chip. The breakfast was delicious. The orange juice was indeed freshly squeezed and refreshing. The service was good and she gave us plenty of time to explore the menu without rush. However the only disappointment was that I asked them if they could sing happy birthday to my friend and they forgot. I excused myself from the table to request them to sing happy birthday to my friend as a surprise but I couldn't find my waitress. I spoke with another waitress in hopes that she would relay the message but I'm not sure if she did. The waitress I spoke with said that she would and asked me to pick out a cupcake so they could bring it when they sang. There were at least 3 other birthdays that morning and it looked so fun. They had a mini bubble machine and fun candles. I was really really looking forward to my friend being celebrated but unfortunately that did not happen. Besides that incident I would return for the breakfast because it was delicious and I felt like the prices were fair. If you go for a birthday make sure to remind your server just in case. TIPS- This location has complimentary valet parking, no self parking allowed. Friday, Saturday and Sundays are ALWAYS packed so be prepared to wait. Going during the week might be your best bet for little to no wait times.
I've visited their locations in Edgewater and Englewood Cliffs, and both consistently deliver a very good experience. The menu is extensive, offering lots of unique choices to satisfy any craving. Two of us tried the omelets (Aegean and Gourmet Mushroom), and they were huge! Definitely enough for leftovers--perfect for a second breakfast at home. The Jersey Benedict with Taylor Ham is always a favorite as is the various pancake options. Bottomless coffee is a nice touch, keeping the breakfast vibe going strong. The milkshakes are showstoppers, and the hot cocoa comes loaded with whipped cream for an indulgent treat. While it's not the cheapest breakfast option, the generous portions, quality, and service make it worth it.

I went around 11am and got a table for 2 immediately. The food was DELICIOUS. I just didn't expect the pancake to be this huge! The Oreo cookie pancake was amazing. Not sweet too at all. It even had a scoop of vanilla ice cream underneath the whipped cream. I didn't even need to put syrup on it! It tasted fantastic without it. 10/10! read more
So in my many years of coming to NY/NJ I found Original Pancake House down the street & was loving it right?! So was planning another trip to NYC and knew I was staying in Jersey so I was looking up the Pancake House & Brownstone Popped up on my Yelp page so I thought "Ooh Shoot, Bookmark"... So off to NYC for my Adult weekend we went & first stop the next morning Pancake House right.. So we leave and are driving down the street and I see TONS of people and chaos & look over & realize its Brownstone - Ok thats where it is?? We will check it out tomorrow, so we go the next day which unfortunately happened to be President's Day, we get there and Valet Boom - Parking Lot Confusion - I mean Mad House type confusion, cant even pull in the lot, Valet guys have WAY too much attitude... I go in & they tell me 20 min wait, Im thinking there is NO WAY this is going to be 20 mins, and sure enough it wasnt, it was easily 50 mins.. but Im amped up at this point - this is going to be GREAT RIGHT??!?!?! Ok - we are finally seated and only because I went in & asked and she told me she called our number when she truly didnt... so we sit down and order - Waiter was hella cool, Order a few standard things. They come in a decent time and they seem to have this craziness all down to a science, food comes... COLD! Like Cold Pancakes, really? Everything else was just meh - Other people around us were ordering really cool looking Milkshakes and I might go back to just try those, but the food was Meh. I got the French Toast & it was just really blah! I was soo underwhelmed, and maybe on a slower day they could take more time on things & not having to wait close to an hour might improve my thoughts on the food... What a fun place. Stopped here to get breakfast with our kids while road tripping. We knew nothing about this place and just happened to stumble upon it on yelp when looking for somewhere to eat. We pulled into the lot and saw there was nothing available for parking. We ended up having to park two blocks away in a metered spot which isn't ideal with a 1 year old and a 3 year old. Of course, by the time we get back there is someone outside doing valet parking. They must have been taking a break when we came initially but disappointing because we could have avoided all that hassle. We were seated right away. The menu here is crazy. I see they have been featured on the food network numerous times. Tons of different pancake flavors, waffles, omelets, French toast. They seemed to have a full lunch/dinner menu too. They had crazy looking milkshake that an instagrammer would defintley love but it was a little too early for me to be getting something like that. I ordered the vanilla dream iced coffee which was very good. I ordered the churro French toast which was AMAZING. My husband had the chocolate covered strawberry pancakes which he enjoyed, the portion was huge, he couldn't even finish them. My kids shared the kiddie combo which came with a pancake and an egg. It was a nice sized portion for a kids meal and the pancake was made to look like a face which is a nice touch. Our waitress was great. Prices were pretty high for breakfast, more like the price of going out to dinner. But, I would still come back because we really enjoyed it. read more
Brownstone is an easy pick for breakfast, lunch or dinner. With its lengthy menu, there's something for everyone! On this visit, we ordered one of the chef's special for the day, Nutella donut pancakes; we also ordered fried Oreo milkshake, and pulled pork burger with fries. When all our orders arrived, we felt slightly overwhelmed not realizing how large the portion size was. If you're looking for a spot to hit your sweet tooth, you've found the right place. It's definitely one of the best pancake house + milkshake I've tried too. They have a variety of toppings, flavors, fillings that will satisfy all your cravings! Weekends especially brunch/lunch time is pretty busy. However even on its busiest days, the staff is pretty efficient in finding tables and bringing your orders. I do suggest to look at their menu prior to arriving to since they really do have a lot to offer. They also have valet parking, but there's also street parking as well. Enjoy!! read more
This place is loud, crowded , and has stressful parking situations, but has good brunch food. But the place seems a little overhyped. Would suggest some of the brunch foods, the benedicts looked great. I commonly order chicken and waffles at brunch places. It looked great but it overall was pretty meh. Places I've been where I loved theirs they glazed it or offered some sort of sauce/syrup, but they sorta just give you the stack drizzled with a bit of syrup. I'm not too sure if boned chicken is the standard, but boneless chicken allows you to eat the chicken with the waffle, while my boned chicken I sorta had to work them separately. The waffle was fluffy but not particularly good tasting. Had tried a good amount of my friend's silver pancakes. I feel a pancake house, the basic stack of pancakes has to be good. It was pretty average. I personally think the service and vibe of the place is amazing but in terms of the stack/waffles; pancake house in city place does it better. read more

You know brownstone is good when everyone doesn't mind waiting 1-2hr for seating time. Thank God for take out, in and out very quick when you're on crunch time. They are also quick with the food once you sit in as well. Enjoy the nice arts on the wall. read more
I must've bumped my head the moment I decided to visit the Brownstone on New Years Eve morning. It was between there and dealing with non-existent parking in Manhattan hours before the ball dropped. As GPS directed me to the block before the restaurant, there was a line of cars waiting to pull into the parking lot for the valet. Thankfully, it didn't take too long. I was tempted to sit in the car while waiting for our table, but I didn't want to be difficult or in the way of the valet guys doing their job, so I went inside to wait. It was around 12pm, and the wait was over an hour. Seeing as it took me longer than that to get there from Brooklyn, I made myself small and waited by the doors. It was packed, I'm talking elbow to elbow with strangers. Finally, we got seated. I encouraged my party to order quickly, since I overheard other patrons complaining about not getting their drinks. Our server was friendly, but you could tell she was rushed, and was doing her best. We decided to put in our order at once, instead of the usual appetizer-then entree-then Dessert method. We ordered pancakes to start off. The Oreo and the peanut butter with chocolate chips. Both delicious. But the Oreo was the clear winner. The peanut butter was great, but a little too sweet. And I love sweet. The vanilla ice cream scoop on the Oreo helped with cookie crumble on top and the Oreos baked inside. It was a welcome touch, and helped offset the sweetness of the pancakes. My sister ordered the hot chocolate with a slice of chocolate cake on top. I wanted to side-eye her, since we agreed she would get a huge milkshake for my Instagram pics. (Judas) I will say, the chocolate drink made a great impression. The cake was magnificent, and it was a full sized slice stacked on top of the cup. She said the hot cocoa was only lukewarm. But we did take a bunch of pics of it, so that may have been our fault. Everything came out quickly, even with the restaurant being slammed. They are operating the kitchen efficiently, and must be used to huge crowds. Even the milkshake my daughter chose came out shortly after we received our food, which doesn't happen often at all, no matter where we order then at. We hadn't even gotten halfway through the pancakes before it arrived. But, I did order all food at once, so that was my error. Plus, I hate to be that table who lingers even though many others are waiting to be seated. Another trip is imminent. Without a doubt, it will be during a weekday, and early. There is tons of food on the menu and the monthly specials look delicious every time. Worth the wait. read more

Craving pancakes and a burger stopped here -glad we did -our server Sophia was incredible -didn't get why they cover the pancakes with powdered sugar when Syrup is sweet enough -burger not too bad -couldn't figure out the acrid smoke taste -almost like liquid smoke -but fries were the best as was the service read more

Visited this location from out of state to meet with some family members. First impression, the parking situation on a weekend is difficult as the parking lot is small. Once inside, the wait was minimal, even with a large group. The service was amazing. Any questions about the menu were answered and our server was patient as we waited for our entire party to arrive. Pictured are two of the lattes on the menu. They were good but ther was a lot of whipped cream. Next time, I would order it without or light whipped cream. Next, the food. It was delicious. Large portions for the price and the food came out fast. They celebrate birthdays by singing and bringing out a cupcake with a sparkler on top. We were also delivered an extra strawberry milkshake to the table. The milkshake was huge with a full slice of cheesecake on top. I wish this restaurant was close to where I live because I would come back often. read more

Wow, I had a great time here! The food was delicious, and the service was amazing. I am actually upset now, since we do not have one of these in NY!!! This place gets super packed, but my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to get a huge booth all to ourselves. This place has it all! For quite some time I've been meaning to eat here and I finally had the opportunity to! I went on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was PACKED! However, we were seated in no time. Free valet parking? CHECK! Endless food options on the menu? CHECK! Great early 2000s r&b playlist? CHECK! Byob? CHECK! I mean, I loved it all. The food was great. After spending no less than 20 minutes looking at that menu, I decided to go with the buffalo chicken wrapper and curly fries. Let me tell you, I destroyed that plate! I've never been a buffalo chicken person but this one tasted amazing. I would gladly go back and order it again. All in all, we had no complaints, except for how ridiculously expensive our pitcher of orange juice was!!!! read more
This place is amazing! If you haven't checked out the Brownstone Pancake Factory yet, then you are truly missing out on a hidden gem. I came here for my second time after having a phenomenal first experience. I ordered the churro french toast and my boyfriend ordered the eggs Benedict. WOW, both were so good. I REALLY REALLY recommend trying the churro french toast, it was literally the best tasting french toast I have ever had. I couldn't stop eating it, even after I was full! The waitress was super kind and helpful. Tip: There is free valet parking on site, but be sure to bring a few dollars to tip the attendant. read more

Went a couple of days ago to celebrate my daughters graduation. The menu is a bit overwhelming so deciding whether you are in the mood for breakfast or lunch in 5 mins is a hard thing to do. The first waitress who came over with pink hair and glasses seemed a bit bothered that we asked for a few minutes to decide. I have been here many times prior to Covid and never had an issue. I am glad a new waitress came over by the name of Jasmine. She was great, good energy and also helped with some recommendations! This place is a treasure. The service was exceptional m. Our waitress was awesome. The food was so tasty. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty. The calamari was very good and fresh. The milkshake was great just a bit less than expected. The wait was a bit much otherwise an awesome place! read more
Had breakfast at the Brownstone Pancake Factory with my girlfriend while visiting family in New Jersey. This is an epic breakfast spot! Portions were ginormous and quality was high. I got the South of the Border Omelette ($13) with a side of Shortstack pancakes ($7) - which was definitely too much food! But I loved it. My girlfriend tried to stay healthy and got the Mexican omelette from the Healthy Egg White Platter menu. It was crowded, but service was overall good. The only negative was the valet parking situation. The attendants were talking amongst themselves and rude when we tried to get their attention (sorry to interrupt, but we had to park!). It was frustrating because we didn't have the option not to use the valet. Overall. I would definitely go back. read more

Everything was just okay and by okay I mean passable. I ordered the Cobb salad which was saturated in ranch dressing and bathed with cheese and olives creating an incredibly salty bite. The salad was one of the worst salads I've ever ordered, it tasted like a kitchen sink, eh. My partner had the tuna melt. She finished half of her melt upon noticing a nice strand of hair on top of the cheese. Her melt was good, but finding a hair in the dish kind of ruined the experience. Everything was so salty and fattening on the menu. I wanted to keep it healthy, but the salad was a major fail. This place reminds me of Friendly's. Maybe I would come back for dessert, but no way would I come back here for lunch. Better options in the area. read more

GIAGANTIC FOOD!! The portions of everything in this place is massive. Got the amazing brownie milkshake and four people shared it! The churro french toast, California burger and the Cheeseburger with jalapeño poppers and surprise jalapeño bacon & cheese pancakes totally rad!!!! I liked t hh is 2nd best. The French toast is #1. We could not finish the food. It was a nice Monday morning brunch so not busy at all, chill vibe and enough time to relax and get stuffed. Okay we really did not get stuffed, we did not finish our meals. This has a WOW factor for their desserts! It will not disappoint. Just go ! Spend the money and go. The food is REALLY good especially the burgers. The color palette and Devore are really calming. A nice northern Jersey vibe. It did not disappoint. Thank me later. ;-). read more

We went in on a Sunday morning. There was no wait and service was quick. The waffle with fried Oreos and chocolate cake was delicious. The cake was very moist and the icing wasnt overly sweet. We also got the Taylor ham with eggs, potatoes and toast. The Taylor ham had a great flavor to it. I loved the char type taste to it. I would def return and recommend. read more
We went on a busy Sunday we waited about 30-45mins to be seated they had a packed house. Service was extremely quick. They had a great playlist playing all throwbacks. Our milk shakes were so huge we couldn't believe it they definitely get extremely creative with their drinks. Food was spot on as well. I am mind blown that this place doesn't have a higher rating! I have been three times and every time Brownstone delivers a delicious insta post worthy meal! I always create my own extreme pancake -something like turtle pancakes with all the honky TONK toppings annnd ice cream! Go big or go home! I am ALWAYS a fan of dessert for breakfast and it's hard to get me to pick a savory dish -BUT the Jersey Chicken and Cheddar pancakes are out of this world! Shakes are amazing as well. I'm not ashamed to admit I recently registered my daughters for a dance convention and booked flights to Newark just so I can go to Brownstone again! read more

Was really looking forward to eating here. Tried to go 3 different Sunday's around breakfast time, but there was an extremely long wait. This place gets really packed on the weekends breakfast & brunch. The parking lot gets filled pretty quick too. Finally ate there, and feel like the place was over rated. The food was just ok, service was just ok too. Yes the desserts are very "Instagramable" but that's about it. Waiter messed up our order, we specifically told him we DO NOT eat pork, and asked if the dish had pork in it, he said it didn't. Turned out it was pork. The waiter took that item off the bill. The burger & dessert were ok, I definitely expected more, especially because of the hype. read more

Terrible service. They did not clean the table before hand. Also they put us (2 people) in a table for one. When we complained about the table being tinny they refused to give another table. To add to all of that, this table is located in a place where people are constantly passing by or the waitress for the adjacent table are too close to you. No one likes to eat facing people's asses. I lost count how many butts touched and bumped into us. Food wise, pancakes are too dry and impossible to eat without drinking something at the same time. After coming here I have no idea why this place is packed. I think they are paying people to review on Yelp or something, it makes no sense. PS: it was a rainy day and a bit chill. The host asked people to wait outside for their number to be called. Approximately 20 mins wait. So I do not recommend to come here when the weather is bad. read more
There are so many pancake variations available here! Light, fluffy pancakes which you can customize. I like mine baked with walnuts in them and with coconut shavings on the side. First time trying their meals here besides their pancakes was a great experience. Their Cinco de Mayo menu was genius! Celebrated the Mexican heritage tastefully. In the photo attached is the Mexican Burger, which is surprisingly easy to bite into once the bun is squished on top. Came with soup (got the Cream & Broccoli Soup). All time favorite places to go to for breakfast. Was told the wait was going to be about 45 minutes but got seated in less than 10 . The service is always exceptional despite how busy the establishment was. The food was amazing and the free valet parking is always a plus ! read more

Came for brunch today (Sunday) around 1:00pm. The wait for a table for 4 was 30 min... not too bad. Our server was nice and checked on us often. They have a pretty large menu something for everyone and of course tons of pancakes to choose from. I decided on the Jersey French toast - which is basically a pork-roll egg and cheese sandwich served on French toast. I figured that would cover both my sweet and savory cravings... and it did it was perfect topped with some maple syrup. We also had the Oreo pancakes and 2 orders of the Irish Benedict which was made with corned beef hash. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the Benedict because the guys dove right in before I had a chance...lol Everyone enjoyed their food today and we were very happy with our brunch choice. So I definitely recommend to try it out... Ps- I know the valet parking there is annoying and it was backed up to pull in so we just drove to the next block and parked on the side street... Is it open on Martin Luther king day?
Open 7am till 10pm, but hrs could be changed cause of the holiday. As of now normal business hours.

I'm not an expert on vegan foods but the menu is huge and I do remember seeing a veggie kale burger on the menu.…

Yes they have vegan dishes, as well as organic and gluten free

Yes, but slim. Their cherry brook gluten free pancakes are vegan
