The prices are fair especially for Costa Mesa/Newport area. I always go to Jill Guin, she's literally a hair artist. She can mix whatever color you want to a T, and her cuts are the best I've ever had, EVER!! Call her next time you need a color, she's ultra friendly and does a hell of a job! Her assistant Amanda is wonderful and very helpful to Jill. Last time I went in was for the practice run on my wedding hair and we had a blast figuring out different styles. Overall, I like the feel of this salon: the receptionist is always nice and offers you a glass of wine while you're waiting, there's a good selection of magazines to read while you're under the dryer and it is CLEAN. Went here today for the first time and loved it! I had Dean do my hair and he did a fabulous job! I had breast cancer and lost my long blonde hair and now trying to get used to a short haircut. Just don't know what to do with it but wanted to do something fun before I grew it long. So Dean dyed it pink and shaved it a bit so it looked cute. I'm going to keep coming here and seeing Dean. Nicole is just amazing! I've been going to her for the last two years for my ridiculously curly hair. When I found out that she had left Splitends, I was devastated! Luckily, the internet is an amazing thing and I found her and my hair looks wonderful. For those of you who have curly hair, she's the one to go to. She has the best personality, is diligent, educated and offers up an amazing haircut at a more than reasonable price. She is an amazing listener (if you explain yourself, she will give you what you want), but is also great at talking about what is actually possible (no curly haired girl you can't have betty page bangs). She was apprenticing under Jill who would jump in every once in a while to really refine my cuts. These two are an amazing team! I am a super finicky person when it comes to my hair. Enter Jill Guin. She has made me love my cowlicky, sometimes flat, sometimes falling out (thanks pregnancy) hair. She perfects my swooshy bangs and my haircut looks great not just when I leave the salon, but for the following weeks/months. She does an INCREDIBLE job on men's haircuts as well, my hubby is coming in hot everytime he gets his haircut :-) AND Jill cuts my 3 YO son and 4 year YO daughter's hair, and makes me feel like they are angels, even when they are being psychos. Big ups for that. In addition to being a good hair stylist, she's also really fun and a blast to chat with. No one knows their pop culture better than this girl. She also gives great book recommendations. Her new digs at Magnolia are beautiful, airy, and everyone is super nice. I dont know where all the glowing reviews went...but there used to be about 10 positive reviews up here for Mina and Nikki. This tag-team-duo are AMAZING when it comes to cut and color. First off, they are both booked at LEAST a month in advance, so if that does not tell you something, I honestly don't know what will....but here goes: I am 37, and I have gone to a MULTITUDE of Stylists over the course of the past 15 or so years, most of which do an amazing job the first time, or the first few times. Unfortunately, once they've reeled you in as a client, their cut quality diminishes and they just dont give you the T.L.C. that they did in the beginning. Well, that is DEFINTELY not the case for Mina. I cannot say enough about her in a postitive way. I first started going to her personally about 4 years ago, and have been a devoted and loyal client ever since. She is a WHIZ with all hair lengths. I have seen her do short hair, long hair, curly hair...her capabiities run the gamut, and her skill is un-surpassed, also when it comes to up-dos, and basic blowdrys and styles. I have gone to mina before weddings, before parties, and she always does an amazing job on my hair...no matter what the occassion. She can even work with my clip in extensions and we are always trying new things. She has become a friend, too. I would not trust my hair to anyone else. Her partner in crime, Nikki, is an ace color specialist. I have seen her work, and have a handful of friends who swear by her, although I cannot personally say I have been to see her, as I do not color my hair. However, if I ever did, she would be the first colorist I would try! read more

Kali and Cristina did the hair for myself and all the bridesmaids (9 of them) for my wedding and I could not be happier! All the girls got different styles of braids, waves, curls, etc. and they all looked beautiful! Kali and Cristina were on time and kept ahead of schedule all day, which I was so thankful for and definitely alleviated a lot of my stress. Kali does my hair regularly, so I knew she would do a great job. She picked up clip-in extensions for me that matched my hair perfectly and she colored my hair before the wedding.
