When I went into the restaurant I was greeted by the employees. Placed my order and looked around. This Bruchi's was really clean. Huge improvement from the last one I was at. Met the new manager who has cleaned up the store and we had a nice chat. I watched the chef make my order. Let me tell you the cheesesteak sandwich was sooooo good. Had the original chicken, cheese, onion on a huge fresh roll. I was hooked on the first bite. Warm sweet chicken cooked with onions then melted white cheese on top, scooped up and put on the warm fresh bread roll. I am one very satisfied and returning customer. I also got a chicken Cesar salad to go. Had them put the chicken in a separate container so the lettuce would stay fresh. The team at Bruchi's in Cheney should win an award. The General Manager needs to make surprise pop in visits!!!!. One the employee DO NOT know what is in the menu. I.E. #4 Pepper steak meal, kept having to repeat it and still jot sure of the price. The women's restroom had NO Toilet Paper in stalls! Wonder how many paper towels were flushed down the toilet and CLOGGED it because someone was too lazy to perform checks? Hey manager is someone supposed to inspect at end of day or beginning of shift? Are employees trained on what is in the menu? Again No attention to detail and need more oversight and pop in visits by managers or owners! A suggestion to improve the appearance and reduce problems if a customer reports problems like this their meal is COMPED taken out of the paycheck of the shift manager. Bruchi's is very consistent, and we have been trying to not cook one weekday and these guys were picked by one of the younger kids. We have had their food before so it was not a surprise. But wait! There was a surprise. They do burgers, and we've never known it. Hubby said it was just fine. He went off the grid ordering a burger from a philly steak place, but he knew he would get bites of my philly lol. Horrible Bruchis experience for a franchise I typically enjoy. Service was below average. We stood at the counter for about 5 minutes and not once recognized as being there. And they weren't that busy. The bread was like nothing I'd had at any other Bruchi's. I ordered a large sandwich and it came on two small large roll like buns. Very doughy. We visit this Bruchis often as our kids attend school in the district and it's convenient before games. Today, we ordered a meal before going to the beach. The young girl in the drive through was horrible. When our food was given to us there was an accident and one of the sauces opened in the bag getting everything full of fry sauce. We tapped on the window to explain what happened and to ask for napkins. This same young girl was so put out that we called her back to the window, even rolling her eyes and slamming her window in our face. We had to pull around and go in. We asked for a manager to get assistance and explain the young girls attitude. While we were talking with the manager the same young girl started arguing with us. The manager asked her to step away and leave. We understand things happen but this little lady is the exact opposite of customer service. Even arguing with her manager and us when trying to resolve the issue. I sure hope others have not experienced her and if so, I hope management is aware of the damage she is doing for business. Just stopped in for a last minute dinner, it was 7:45 and they close at 8. As soon as we walked in the worker said we are closed, I then asked, not at 8? She repeated herself, we are closed. Someone in my party asked why and she said, clearly upset, "Guys we are closed, we are short-staffed, goodbye!" Okay, first off I get it but there is no reason to be disrespectful about it. I work in a restaurant, I understand wanting to close early, but 3 people should be easy enough to feed for 2 staff members. Also, If you want to close early go for it, just be nice about it at the very least. Not my fault you don't want to do your job, but just don't take it out on people who don't have anything to do with it. We would've left happily with just: I'm sorry we had to close early tonight, so we are unable to serve you. Been there and done that many times, there's no shame. There was no reason to be so damn disrespectful. This is a Bruchi's, it's not that deep girl, don't be horrible. I've gone to the Bruchi's in Tri Cities and had a excellent experience. However the Cheney location is terrible. All 3 times I have gone have been unpleasant. The meal was okay, nothing special. The overall appearance is one of cleanliness, but a number of surfaces, both horizontal and vertical, that I touched were tacky/grimy. I absolutely love bruchis! The San who hes are always great when I'm able to get them. I can never call in and order ahead because they don't answer the phones. I wasn't going to write a review but this was my 5th time calling throughout the year that they deliberately ignored my call. And whenever I go in the employees look like they hate there jobs. So idk I personally wouldn't allow someone to work for me with such attitudes and mediocre customer service. Maybe it's on the bosses though, you never know. Tonight was my very first time getting Brushi's. It wasn't horrible but it was a lot less than what I had expected. I ordered their special at the moment which was a steak, swiss, and mushroom cheesesteak to go. It came very hot and smelled really good. I got home and started eating and there were no mushrooms on my sandwich, it was extremely dry, and not flavorful. For the price of $10 for the 12", it was absolutely not worth it.
