For many years, we went to Brueggers at least twice a month. Everyone was friendly, greeted us, even by name. After Covid, we returned and understood it would take a bit to get back to pre covid operations. It seemed like no one really cared in terms of customer service, friendliness or ambiance. After two years away, this morning we decided to give them another try. We walked in and stood there, waiting to order while three people stood behind the counter, not even acknowledging our presence. After a few minutes, we were informed that they weren't taking orders over the counter and we had to go to the cash register. Fair enough. However, the staff acted like we were interrupting their day. In addition, any "different" bagel is now an up charge, instead of being able to order a mixed bakers dozen. That would could be understood. However, at the end of the day, the abysmal customer service and atmosphere has ensured we won't be back. read more

I've been to this location twice now with no issues. My bf and I both got the Farmhouse bagel, and I got an iced coffee as well. We did pickup through the app, and our order was waiting for us on the pickup shelf about 10 minutes after placing the order! We ordered on a Sunday around 9AM. After reading the reviews of this place I decided to try it to see if they were right. Reviews are pretty spot on. We came in about noon and the staff was rude/annoyed. We ordered two bagels and they were really good for quick bite breakfast. The place was a little dirty. There were chairs put on top of majority of the tables so guess you can't sit there ‍ so we ate the bagels in the parking lot lol. 2 star bagel spot. Got 2 bagels. One was a simple bagel with cream Cheese - got home and it was burnt to the point that was all you tasted. I had to go back to have them remake it for me. What happened to this place? Looks empty inside. Very sad. I haven't been in awhile. Ordered our usual from the past, Herby Turkey and turkey on a plain bagel. The turkey used to be shaved meat and piled on. We had one slice of Hormel looking turkey you get in the packaged meat section at a grocery store. Very disappointed. The upside, the bagel was good. Well I will make this short and sweet, well not really sweet but short I grabbed a cinnamon raisin bagel not toasted with cream cheese and one of the twice baked hash brown thingies. When I open the bagel I was shocked at the amount of cream cheese that it was lacking but I decided to bite into it anyway without going back in and grabbing more cream cheese. The Cream cheese was definitely 100% sour and also had a little oniony taste to it in little chunks of old cream cheese that were hard in it. Gross! I don't know if it was old or they were using the same spreader for different cream cheese. I went back in to return it and get something different and the gentleman let me taste the cream cheese to make sure that it was the right cream cheese on the bagel and sure enough it definitely was and it was still sour and funny tasting. So I decided to get a cinnamon raisin bagel not toasted with butter. I'm glad I was watching because he was just about to pop it in the oven and I asked for it not toasted. I ate it and it was fine. Then I went to eat the hash brown thingy end it was so stuck to the paper that it probably wasted 25% of it if not more. I don't know if he was supposed to bake it in that paper or not but it was impossible to get off the paper. They are also definitely lacking in customer service! It was my first time there and definitely my last there are other Bruegger's around with better customer service and food made correctly and not spoiled. Not impressed at all. Purchased a dozen and the everything bagels were sweating before I reached my Aunt's home.

My family and I were not welcomed to sit in the restaurant when all of the chairs were propped up onto the tables. We then saw another family sitting there and were just confused why the worker lady rudely told us we couldn't move the chairs down to sit. This was unexpected and honestly disturbing when I was just trying to have a Sunday breakfast with my family. There was a time when this place was decent, but man what a dump it has become. It's filthy, and they took out all of their tables and booths and chairs from the inside, which makes no sense, because it's not like they're waiting tables and would have to wipe down often. Safest Place in Cornelius You know the old joke about the Donut Shop being the safest place because that is where the police and fire always hand out? In the case of Cornelius, that is Bruegger's Bagels. That said, it is a popular place and they do a great job or honoring those who serve their community so no problem with that. Wish more places would do the same. In anycase, about once a month, I'll stop by on the way to work in the morning and pick up a couple dozen bagles or mixed vareities and multiple cream cheese toppings. The employee's love them and to be honest, so do I. They are always fresh and plentiful and the staff courteous and helpful. Looking to reward employee's or even yourself, not a bad stop. read more

Latest example from today....when my order was finally taken, I had to call out the minimal amount of cream cheese applied( it was a shear/minimal application). Turned out that the tub was empty and rather than refill it and add an adequate amount, she just tried to move on. Staff acted annoyed, but she went to get more. While she was retrieving it, I asked the manager, who was also on the line, if he believed this to be acceptable. His response, "Sir, I'm too busy to pay attention to your order or care". Needless to say, my son and I walked out. This location is a joke and I will not be returning. I will identify the corporate channels to communicate this to. read more

OK, I will try to be nice. The staff at this location changes like the hands on a clock. I usually go there on weekend mornings, so yeah, they can be busy. If the line is out the door I make other plans, mainly because they are SLOW. Anyway, went there this past Sunday, 7/17. When I entered I was 4th in line. The staff was arguing and unable to work together. The young man that helped me had the biggest attitude EVER. Claimed they didn't have an item that I know they always have. Bitched about making my sandwich. And somehow tried to blame me for the line now formed behind me. I REALLY wanted to get into it with this idiot, but what would that prove? I almost walked out while he was making my sandwich. He didn't know how to make it, obviously new, and constantly referred to his 'Cheat sheet'. Real, unprofessional attitude. I'm not sure I will ever go back there. Their bagels are ok but definitely NOT Long Island or NYC. I guess it will just be grocery store bagels...If I want one. New Years morning and had a house full of guests, so I told everyone that I'd pick up a bunch of bagels. I've not eaten at Bruegger's in years and everyone was very disappointed. Purchased (13) bagels and they were all flat. Many of them lacked flavor except for the everything bagels. The everything bagels were excessively coated on both sides. I'd never seen that before. The rosemary bagels weren't cooked all the way through and tasted doughy. Upon entering the store, the tables and chairs were all stacked up in the corner and the rug was filthy. When I used to work here 4 years ago as an assistant manger we used to get orders out the door immediately.. Today I went in there for the first time after all these years and the customer service was SO BAD it was unbelievable, I used to be a teenager myself working there but all you have now is impolite kids working the front gossiping to each other instead of paying attention to the next customer like we were on their time.. The only reason I'm even considering giving one star is because the Parmesan asiago bagel was decent. (And unfortunately Yelp! doesn't allow zero star reviews) My boyfriend and I recently moved to the area from Denver, NC. Where we fell in love with our local bagel shop. Being new to this side of the lake I was really excited to explore our weekend breakfast options and Brueggers happened to be right down the road. After parking and walking up to the door, we notice that the dining room is almost empty but the line is out the door. Unsure of whether this was just a Sunday morning rush, or ridiculously slow service we stayed, and waited about 20 minutes to order breakfast. 'Customer service' is not a standard of job positions here at Brueggers. There was not one smile, from any of the four employees working. Considering premade, well over salted and peppered (see photo) ingredients are slapped on an unevenly sliced bagel and popped in a convection oven for about 30 seconds, it was puzzling trying to figure out what took so long. This is a good location given the large number of trips I tend to make each week to Fresh Market. When I go to FM on a Wednesday, it's a good day to stop at Bruegger's as well as they have a number of specials. The one I mainly take advantage of is the Baker's Dozen for $6.99. Other than the good location for me personally, this place is generally well run with good, quick service. Bruegger's isn't a "real" NYC bagel but, considering the airfare I save by eating a bagel in LKN, they are good enough. read more
