Came here on a Saturday morning and my dad who is a local to Tallahassee, said he had never seen a line so long. When he mentioned it to the person at the counter, they attributed it to basically being a lazy weekend as there were no games going on or big events so more people were just out and about. Despite the long line, we waited a bit longer due to our large order, which I was okay with. Great bagels, but a lot smaller than the ones I am used to living in Jersey. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese and I actually thought it was the perfect amount. After eating a New York bagel, I feel over full a lot of the time. I was craving CARBS! This is the place to handle the weight of that craving. Once I entered, I was greeted by the kind staff me members working behind the counter on previous customers' orders. I ordered the garlic bagel with plain cream cheese, my son ordered the cinnamon sugar bagel with plain cheese, and my daughter ordered the avocado bacon and egg white bagel breakfast sandwich. It took only a few minutes for our orders to come out toasted hot and made to order. I had the opportunity as mom to try all the tasty items. I highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches. Mmmm! Full disclosure, I made a mistake, but then this happened. I had a craving for a Herby Turkey for lunch. Drove to this location, placed my order and sat and waited. After a few minutes, they called my name and at the same time placed a bag on the wire "pick up shelf" I assumed this was my order so I picked it up and left. Got back to work and discovered this wasn't my order, it was for someone else. I returned to the store to get my order. I went up the register, holding the bag for the other customer, and the male employee, in a nasty, rather loud, manner, says "this is for on line orders, did you place an on line order" I told him I had made a mistake as i was there earlier and I picked up the wrong order and wanted to pick up my order. He says, again pretty loudly "I can't take that order back" I asked if he could throw it away for me " No I can't take it back." I said ok, guess I'll throw it way. He says again pretty loudly" I don't care what you do with it." I left with 2 bags of food and a less happy demeanor. It seemed as though he was purposely trying to embarrass me in front of the staff and customers. He was quite an A-hole. Every time I stumble into Brueggers before one of my prolonged double shifts I'm usually under-caffeinated, sleepwalking and/or wishing I was in a tropical paradise. But let's get down to brass tax, this is a bagel shop. And Brueggers succeeds in offering deliciously fresh bagels and a soothing cup of Joe. Although they offer a tasty variety of signature sandwiches, they really make a name for themselves with their specialty cream cheeses (onion, chive, strawberry, bacon, etc). I'm a simple man, which means an everything bagel with plain cream cheese does the trick. But the experience is heightened at Brueggers, because a near perfect bite is what they strive for. The succulence of the cream cheese pairs with the saltiness of the crisp bagel, leaving your mouth undeniably watered. To wash it all down, grab yourself a satisfying coffee beverage, in which you're welcome to go up for round two. Yes guys, Brueggers offers free refills on coffee, tea and even soda! The worst in every possible way. Dirty, rude servers, trash on the floor. Had to tell one of the workers to wash hands after handling a trash can before working with bagels. Only thing I did not like was being charge 99 cents per small container of cream cheese on the side. My three bagels plus the three cream cheese containers on the side came out to be the same price as a catering box of half a dozen. This was the first time I tried this place and I may go back for the half dozen box now that I know the cream cheese is charged as extra. Guy had no clue what goes in the sandwich has cheat sheet which is fine, proceeds to put a whole scoop of capers on the bagel for a super nova ( salmon capers tomatoes cream cheese) I asked to pls remove some, he turns throws the whole thing in the garbage. I'm writing a review on Yelp as a last resort. I could've kindly vocalized my complaints over the phone if someone would answer it. Anytime I've come in to order I'm given poor customer service but the saving grace has always been that I love the food at Brueggers. I also like to order delivery some mornings. This morning is the last time I will ever order from this restaurant. I get a bacon egg and cheese bagel, and they charge you online for choosing a cheese. You're forced to call to edit your order but no one will answer the phone. I simply don't want cream in my coffee but I will be getting one delivered that way because I can't get a hold of the store. So I've now paid for something I won't be consuming. Sucks because I like the food. Just can't deal with their poor customer service anymore. read more

If you have a hankering for bagels and coffee but you don't have the time to toast the bagel at home and brew your own coffee, don't think it will be any faster here. The service here is really a hit or miss. There's one really slow person behind the counter and one regular speed. Really depends on your luck. The food? It's pretty standard bagel place. There are different breakfast sandwiches specials every once in a while but there's also the standard menu item. Their breakfast sandwiches are reasonably priced but the lunch sandwiches are a bit pricey. Overall, this is not a place I will suggest to come. This one star review has been YEARS in the making. I will preface this review with a little backround on myself. I was born and raised in south Florida and I'm Jewish...in short, I love a good bagel joint and or Jewish deli and due to the numbers, Tallahassee just doesn't have many good options. That being said, Bruegger's makes a good bagel (albeit undersized) and they make them properly...boiled in a kettle then baked in an oven. I have been to this location too many times to count since they opened this location. One thing that has never existed is quality customer service. The attitude ranges from lack of enthusiasm to slightly rude. Today was my final visit. My wife wanted to do something nice for my birthday, so she went out to get my favorite breakfast...smoked salmon bagel all the way. When she got home, I opened my bagel up to reveal an incomplete version that was missing red onions and capers. Apparently, there is some kind of recall on red onions but nobody working there cared to notify my wife of this. Upon further research, I found out that the recall was only on red onions distributed by Sisco (which is a commercial restaurant supplier). Not for nothing, why can't the manager make an executive decision and run to the Publix that's 300 feet away and get a bag of red onions that has not been recalled? This is just one example of the general lack of customer service that we have received from Bruegger's over the years. So my wife felt bad about them screwing up my breakfast, so she drove back to get it resolved. No manager apologized or tried to make it right, only the person who made the bagel made any kind of sincere apology and my wife said that two others came from the back of the store and scowled at her for having the nerve to bring back a bad order. Long story short, I'm DONE with this chain...enough is enough. If I need a good bagel, I will drive across town to Brooklyn Water Bagel or deal with a store bought variety. Today I tried to get bagels at Bruegger's at 11:45. First I went to the Mahan location. I walked in and two ladies were working. Usually I'm there between 7 and 9 and always appreciate how kind the workers are. I guess the morning shift is better. The younger of the two ladies seemed pleasant, but the older bleach blonde lady has consistently been rude in every experience I've had with her. I go earlier to avoid her. Today I walked in, a group was being helped in front of me. Bleach blonde lady called next, I began talking but I guess not walking around the group fast enough. She very aggressively called "come here," not please, no how can I help. I was getting a bundle (13 bagels and cream cheese). They were short on bagels. That's poor planning as lunch rush had just begun. I began to ask when more would come out. I didn't make it half way through my sentence before I was rudely interrupted and told "45 minutes." No sorry for the inconvenience or the decency to let me finish my question, just deadpan, rude tone, "45 minutes." Every interaction I've had with this lady she makes me feel like I'm the worst person for asking. I feel for service workers. Customers and their demands can get overwhelming and make you feel bad. But making a person who approaches you with a pleasant attitude feel bad? That's crappy on you! I don't understand why she's consistently like this, every other employee I've interacted with there is super nice! I ended up at the Monroe location. They were short on bagels too, but were making more and they came out in three minutes. Also the staff was super nice! And the Monroe location usually gets the bad rep! I come to Bruegger's because I like their food and it's close to my office. But my goodness, every time I go I get so incredibly frustrated. They are understaffed every time and never seem to have their processes down. Truly just seems like poor management. All in all, good food but know you need to tack on an extra 20 mins to your morning commute and better come with your patience ready. read more

I came here because the egg was closed but the food and coffee were awful here. They only have fried eggs and no choice for scrambled and barely any good options to eat. I used to be a total Starbucks and Panera person, but then I found Bruegger's--my new favorite! I even took my boyfriend on the weekend, and he loved them. I literally can't stop from thinking about their cream cheese. Great coffee and bagels and cream cheese! Definitely recommend. Plenty of parking and seating. Very reasonably priced. This location has definitely gone down hill the past few years. Came in at 7am on Friday, August 26, 2022. There are 2 people ahead of me and 2 behind me. 3 workers up front making sandwiches and every single one of them ignored me while I waited 8 mins just to have my order taken. Nobody apologized for my wait, the older blonde lady working morning shift gave me attitude as if I was a bother to her and she clearly didn't want to be working at her job. I am the customer and didn't feel like I was treated as a valued one on this visit. Too many other breakfast places with better customer service so I won't be back. I suggest management have a talk with their morning shift employees and tell them if you see a customer waiting in line when you clearly aren't even that busy it would be nice to be acknowledged.
