We were really really excited to try this spot now called Brunch & Brew after hearing someone hype it up. Unfortunately, the hype wasn't as good as it sounded. When we first walked it I was like, 'ok! Cute place!' Loved the couches and the vibe then we walked over to where you order and it got a bit sketch. For a place that seemed like they branded well, they left out important details. None of the donuts had real labels just no label at all or pieces of paper that had scribbled writing. The cute little glass front cabinets they had just have junk shoved in them. And some of the other signage was wonky. Still... hopeful about the food. We ordered a few donuts, the tacos, a basic breakfast, and another entree that was apparently so unremarkable I can't even recall what it was two weeks later. For reference, I never add additional salt to my food and these tacos had so little flavor I added a whole little packet and they were still bland! The cheesey "hash browns" were boiled potatoes with no seasoning and unmelted processed shredded cheese on top. The donuts were meh at best but the coffee was fairly decent. Overall, definitely not somewhere I would go back to without some changes in the menu, but with a few key changes I think this could be a great spot! Perfect crunch exterior with billowy soft inside packed with flavor. Half dozen glazed and half artisan doughnuts 10/10 perfectly balanced not too sweet/ overpowered by glazes. So soft practically melts in your mouth. Pineapple lemonade refresher 15/10 so delicious and fresh like putting a straw straight into a pineapple! We did get the hash rounds but they weren't fresh, so they were stodgy. You can definitely tell the flavor was there though so that's really the negative thing I have to say. We will definitely be back to try more goodies! This time we couldn't go in our kiddo was a sleep in the back seat so the drive through was awesome. We had the Joe Dough Latte and spicy Indian chai with peanut butter doughnut, apple fritters, eggs and potatoes, and the Murf. The doughnut and apple fritters were fresh and delicious. The beverages were good, we had the ones with spices therefore have the sweet/spice taste to them. The murf gets a thumb up. Eggs and potatoes were okay, It was a little bland but not terrible. OMG I wish we had one of these in VA! We were in town visiting and stopped here on way out for breakfast. We were so hungry and it was so good I didn't get a picture but the doughnuts were epic and I finally found an old fashioned like I grew up with in Cali! You must try this brand new scratch-made cafe. Just down the road from MTSU and the Historic downtown, sits this cheerful bakery. The colorful and eye catching branding creates a playful atmosphere-- perfect to drop in for your favorite sweets. The fresh aesthetic and branding is carried through the entire store from decor, seating, signage, and even the product packaging. The bakery case carries homemade doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and croissants. Today we went about 40 minutes before closing, so they did not have much in the case sadly; however, the donut holes were great. I hope to be back soon to try more. They even have a large window near the donut machine in the kitchen. There is plenty of inside seating and the whole restaurant was spotless and clean. There is also a drive-thru. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive as we ordered. It looks like they have modified hours now with plans to stay open later, so definitely check the hours before you head. The cashier was even informing us of their breakfast and lunch menus, including sandwiches, waffles, paninis, and salads. In a grand opening statement, the owner expressed his want for a restaurant that could bring the community together, as a place to get together with friends and family-- I would say, they fulfilled their goal. The inside is stellar, and the sweets are fresh and delicious. Joe and Dough is a great, local addition to the community. This place is pretty good. They have great coffee and drink selections. My only complaint is the bacon, personally I like it cooked fully, and many times it's seems to be cooked halfway or it's a bit stringy and is not good at all, some days I will get 5-8 pieces of bacon on my sandwhich and other days I will get only 2-3 pieces of bacon on my sandwhich, so it's not always consistent. Overall this place is good, it may be a bit pricier but it is a local cafe. read more

The food and beverages are great only if you can alter your order with things such as no hot sauce. It also doesn't allow you to order two refreshers online with different flavors. If you order 2 and select the different flavors you want. You will receive both flavors in each refresher. Instead of having a pineapple one and apple for the second one. You get green apple and pineapple in both of them. If you want a panini and don't want hot sauce on it. You can't change it. I called and spoke to the owner, Roger and asked him to take the hot sauce off my sandwich. Once I received my order with the wrong refresher. I received a call from Roger, (the owner), stating that I can't change my order in anyway from now on. If I can't have it the way it comes then don't order it. If I can't order the same flavor for all my refreshers. Then just don't order it. He is extremely rude and asked that I just don't order at all. We usually eat from this place at least 5 times a week. I just simply can't eat hot sauce or chipotle sauce because of a medical condition. The pastries are made from scratch (donuts, scones, fritters are all amazing), breakfast sandwiches and biscuits are wonderful and, my favorite, breakfast egg and potato bowl, is a solid gluten free option but clean and feels healthy and protein laden. Coffees, teas and fraps are all super with fresh roasted beans, high quality syrups and not overly sweetened and artificial like so many cafes. Ordered some donuts, drinks, a croissant sandwich, an omelet and some chocolate waffles. The coffee (Cuban) was cold and didn't taste good. I asked the barista if the coffee could be warmer but he said the milk frother doesn't warm up the milk and didn't take the coffee back. The croissant sandwich was ok (bacon was a little over cooked), one waffle was tasty and fluffy the other one was undercooked. Ordered hash rounds and they were good but cold and a little salty. The omelet was too salty and the biscuit was very dry and dense. The cake donut was really good and so was the cinnamon roll. Service was ok, not friendly but not rude either, except for the barista. Seating is limited and even though they make amazing doughnuts and brew coffee, the restaurant smells like ketchup which is extremely unappetizing.
