I mean, breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day right? :) We came by for Brunch around 8am with some friends and the restaurant was pretty empty as they had just opened for the day. Our server seemed to have been the only one working as she was running from table to table. Although she was very patient with us she was working and talking a mile a minute. I decided to get an Oh My Omelet where I got to build it with the ingredients that I wanted, it came with a side and choice of toast or pancakes. The omelet is huge, a great portion for the price. For my side I got the home style potatoes which was a bit too greasy for my liking but it was fine with ketchup. To drink I had an orange juice, of which was very pulpy. My friends had the banana's foster French toast, and my husband had the spanish fluffy biscuits and gravy of which had the chorizo and Tex mex spices. All in all, we had a great experience. What a really good breakfast place. I got the Two eggs and bacon with potatoes and added a biscuit and honey (the meal comes with toast or a short stack of pancakes). I asked for my eggs scrambled and dry. They did not disappoint. Fluffy and fresh and dry (no oil). In other words = perfect. I normally ask for my bacon made crispy and forgot, but the three slices they give are huge and practically melts in your mouth. They also gave a healthy portion of potatoes with diced peppers and onion which were there for flavor and didn't overpower the flavor of the potatoes themselves. The biscuit was crispy on the outside and fluffy magic on the inside. I just dipped it in the honey. OMG! Yum. I may just get the biscuits and honey next time - so good. I paired all this with hot chocolate that they made with loving care. Delicious and not rich. By the way, the "short stack" of pancakes are three large saucer sized pancakes. Others in my party got those and no one finished them. They were made perfectly as the syrup was not soaked up by the cakes. This is great for families, friends and large groups. This was one of the weirdest dining experiences I've ever had. Brunch Factory kept alternately impressing and distressing, all the way through. We showed up with a party of six. The place was busy. I'm thinking there'll be a wait for a large party. Turns out Brunch Factory has a whole room of large tables, and they can seat us right away! But, they hadn't actually cleared our table, so we got to stand and watch them bus and clean. But they brought four people to do it, and the manager checked to make sure all the details were covered, so ok! While waiting, I looked around. The place is bright, clean, white walls, black accents, view of a pond, looks nice! Then we sit down. OMG, this chair is uncomfortable. My wife says "this chair is terrible". Our friend says "isn't it?". Our daughter says "can we get different chairs?", So it wasn't just my fat butt that was the problem. But there are no other chairs. So we look at the menu. All the usual, omelettes, skillets, benedicts. Hey, they have chicken and pancakes, as tacos, fun! Wait... with sour cream and Mexican cheese? Ok, guess we can try that. Ooh, biscuits! Haven't had good biscuits since we left Texas. Wait, how much? For two biscuits?? Guess we can each have a small taste of the south. Now it would be nice if somebody took our order. Ok, here she comes. Now we just have to wait for the food. And wait. Finally, the food came. The biscuits were good. The chicken pancake tacos came folded up in a taco rack. Have you ever tried to pick up a folded pancake filled with chicken, sour cream, cheese, and syrup? Have you ever tried to use a fork on a taco in a rack? It was a puzzle, but the fork worked well enough. All of the food was pretty good, except the potatoes, which were dry and kinda blah. Then we get the check. It was high, as we expected from the biscuits, and then there was a 20% service fee. I wasn't really expecting that for a party of six. But we were planning to tip that much anyway, so no biggie. So, the Brunch Factory came with a lot of big pluses. And just as many significant minuses. It all adds up to not quite being worth the drive to Riverwoods. Do not recommend at all. They made a mistake and overcharged me and I had to pay $18 for an order of hashbrowns that was $4.50 because they did not divide the check correctly. They also did not inform anyone how much their total was, they just asked each person to tap their card without mentioning a price. I brought this up to the manager and they told me they would not do anything about it and still charged me the $18 for one singular order of hashbrowns. I really wanted to like it here- it looks so nice from the outside. We came on Mother's Day and even though they were busy we didn't have to wait. They were able to accommodate us with a car seat at a nice size booth which we appreciated. The staff was nice and the owners/ hosts did a good job with all the people waiting. The food was so so. They had a bad day, then got rude. We were regulars, but hadn't been back for a few months. It seems that they are now trying to make the restaurant inhospitable. The chairs are uncomfortable and on the menu there a prominent notice that we need to be out in ninety minutes. That was hard to do, since it was over an hour after we arrived that we finally got our food. I needed to reach out to the hostess to get our check, and asked if they were having a bad day. She replied brusquely that indeed it was a bad day, that nobody is perfect, and walked away. At checkout, when asked by the cashier how things were, I expressed disappointment. The hostess then returned, apologized for the first time, and then pointed out how I must be flawed as well, and hoped that I could find a better place to eat in the future. My husband and I went to the Brunch Factory - Riverwoods after a friend recommended it. When we drove up I got nervous because the parking lot was full right around noon. Always a good sign for a restaurant, but a bad sign if you're hangry! I went into put our names in for a table while my husband parked the car. My fears were put to rest as we were able to get a table right away. While the restaurant always seemed to be near capacity, I never saw a line waiting for a table. Once seated, we were given menus that were wrinkled and torn (either that or someone got hungry while waiting and snacked on a corner of the menu). The restaurant is very busy as evidenced by the fact that we only saw our server three times and each time was very short. The service was fine, not stellar, but I have no complaints about it (unlike the table behind us who we could hear constantly complain about not having things). The food here is amazing. I ordered the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Pancakes (oats in our batter with chocolate chips, and topped with chocolate syrup). The pancakes were fluffy and you could taste the oats that were in the batter. The pancakes were a bit dry but the syrup and butter helped with that. My husband ordered the BFR - Bananas Foster French Toast (thick-cut toast dipped in our special egg batter, topped w/ bananas, toasted walnuts, caramel sauce). This may have been the most delicious French toast that I have ever had. The French toast had a great flavorful and crispy batter. The bananas were crisp and made excellent combination when you add the caramel sauce. I highly recommend that you make a special trip out to the Brunch Factory - Riverwoods. First of all I understand it was Mother's Day and the place was absolutely slammed. Sorry I didn't get the host's name, but he was very funny, he looked like he would be more at home in a biker bar. He acknowledged that they have been full since opening at 7 am. Our waitress, Katie, was a delight. She kept our glasses full and apologized when our flight of mimosa's were delayed due to the lack of clean glassware. She has another job and was called in to help cover the rush. Great service from the second you enter the establishment. We were instantly greeted and I was afraid that because it was the weekend I was prepared to wait for a while. We didn't wait. We were seated right away. I love that they give you washable markers for your child which I've never seen in any place! Good job brunch factory! I prefer the markers over the crayons that children end up breaking or it just gets tossed. The ambience is very well lit by nice big windows that allow all this natural light to come through, along with the restaurant lighting as well. The decor and table set up is nice and clean with that dark style vibe. The food was delicious, great selection and nothing was greasy! I recently visited brunch factory for Saturday brunch. I was seated quickly. The menu is massive with some interesting items like the breakfast pie (think a breakfast pot pie). One thing that I wish they had was flavored cream for coffee. We ordered cinnamon rolls and asked for them to come out first. It was only brought out 2 min before the rest of the food. I also found the breakfast pie to be dry. I wanted more gravy but our server who was nice would disappear. Service was my biggest issue. I brought it up to the manager but nothing really changed. Big menu with a lot of options, it was honestly hard to choose. I can tell you that the skillet that I ordered with some substitutions came quickly and it was easily enough food for 2 breakfasts.
