I often find myself scouring the OC Register page on the internet looking at restaurant closures and opening in my area. Unfortunately there have been many places over the years I was waiting to try who went under before I ever made my way over to try them out. Luckily the list of opening businesses is typically much larger and this is where I saw Brusters opening nearby. Brusters opened just a few days ago so we really had little expectation coming in on what to expect. Did they have a knowledgable staff? Good product? Sufficient options? Had they worked out any kinks? These are all questions that came to mind right off the bat. We were surprised to see that there wasn't a line when we arrived being that the business is brand new. We made our way up to the ordering window and began to look over the menu. They have everything from cones, cups, sundaes, banana splits, shakes (made from any of their available ice cream flavors), sorbets, italian ice and even Oreo ice cream sandwiches among many other options. The lady working at the front counter greeted us and asked if we wanted to try any of the flavors and my wife took her up on the offer (white chocolate raspberry truffle), although I passed on this one. It was nice to not be questioned on how early we wanted ice cream like we were at another place (still unsure why they would be open if they don't want to serve that early). We both went with a basic 2 scoop in a cup. I went with the banana chocolate chip and mint chip while my wife went with the banana chocolate chip and triple chocolate Oreo. Both of us enjoyed the ice cream and thought it was a nice alternative to the soft serve that is offered by Dairy Queen within the same lot. The staff was friendly but was having issues with the credit card machine during our visit. After several minutes of waiting for the machine to process the card they gave up and simply told us the ice cream was free. Not wanting to do this to a newly opened business my wife instead paid in cash (something we rarely carry but happened to have this day) and they thanked us by giving us numerous free stamps on our card. They may have a few minor flaws (not many places I have found that don't) but they will definitely give places in the area a run for their money with their large menu of options. The pricing is relatively good (maybe a bit high on a couple items) and the flavors are on point. Make sure to ask for a punch card if they don't offer to get a free small waffle cone after 9 purchases. We will definitely be back soon to try more flavors and other options. read more

Got here a few minutes before closing and asked if they were (the 2 female workers on the team evening of nov 12,2022) still open and taking orders. The one girl at the window replied rudely "technically we have too". Mind there are 3 of us family's together. They told us no shakes or banana splits, only ice cream. They took the first family's order and gave them what they ordered. As soon as they gave the last ice cream ordered, my cousin goes up to the window (to place her order )and the window began to close with the worker stating that they were closed!!!!as soon as they shut the window the other female worker shit the lights off. Oh man oh man do I love ice cream and since I am a professional food critic AKA yelper lol, I would say this place rocks!!!! I mean the flavors are amazing and they seem to have new flavors every month or so, if I were to guess they have like 40 different flavors and Fresh waffle cones made daily. Coming from the Inland Empire I was so excited that there was a Brusters so close by to me. To me, this is the best ice cream place because of the flavor and price. For 2 waffle bowls with 2 scoops each, it was under $10. The banana cream pie is my go to flavor always, and it is delicious everytime. This past time I had the double fudge brownie (which was perfectly chocolatey). My bf got a peanut butter ( I don't remember the exact name) and mint chocolate chip. I love this place because the flavors are so unique, and the ice cream is the perfect amount of creamy and sweet. I am so excited I found one nearby and I will be here all of the time. read more

In a cone, cup, donut, bowl, with cookies or sprinkles, in a sundae or alone or whatever! lol That being said, I have high expectations for ice cream as I have tried many and I know what I like. It was melting as soon as they handed it to us and I DO NOT like melted ice cream. The waffle cone was bland and started breaking immediately. My fiancé and I drove 40 min to try their Banana Chocolate Chip flavor (based on Yelp pic) and they were out. =( I was told they have around 170 flavors so they rotate constantly. =( I settled for regular Chocolate Chip instead. All of the flavors we got, with the exception of Chocolate Chip, were personally too sweet for me. The type that is good initially but then becomes overwhelming. The worst ice cream experience ever.. It's not real ice cream at all.. I never ever had this type of ice cream in my life..I was craving ice cream so much and my husband took me to this place saying let's try something new and I regret the decision.. Mocha almond fudge I ordered and it didn't taste anything like mocha almond fudge at all.. I have to say, this place is really family friendly and is now giving DQ in the same center a run for their money. Like any ice cream places, they will let you do a taste of any flavor. But the kicker here is if you have kids or pet dog, you can get a free treat for them! Oh wait, don't worry the treat is different for your kids as opposed to your pet dog. I went for my first time yesterday with 2 friends. I was happy with MY experience ( I believe my guy was Patrick) but my 2 friends got a girl with a bit of an attitude I guess (Gina?). I didn't want my daughter getting too sugared up, so I asked if they had like a kids cone with just 1 scoop of ice cream. They didn't, but they could do a mini scoop on a mini cake cone for free. Rock on! So I got her the free mini cone (which IS really mini - maybe like 2 Tbsp ice cream on a cute 2" cone), then ordered a regular sugar cone for myself. I really only wanted 1 scoop myself, but since they come with 2 scoops, I made my second scoop the flavor my daughter wanted. Which was good because she dropped her mini cone about a minute after I gave it to her! Yay - I had "backup ice cream for her!" Pros: Patrick was super nice, ice cream was yummy, the free kids cone was great (warning: it IS tiny, but hey it's also free! If you want a bigger scoop, pay for it! ) Cons: Major downside...no real place to sit. And patient since I always sample their ice cream flavors :). The business recently opened about 3 months ago. The lines are sometimes short and sometimes they're long. But it's worth the wait. Ice cream is nothing to rave about, it's OK. This review is based on their service. Shop is ran by high school kids or young adults. My family and I came right before 9pm on a Saturday (12/3/22). According to Yelp and their website it says open until 10pm. But they have hours posted on their windows that they're open until 9pm. We got our ice cream but the poor customers coming right at 9 were given some horrible treatment by one of the female workers. One person said that they had an online order and the worker was extremely rude and unhelpful and kept pointing at the posted store hours. Even when the customer said that they had no idea the store was closed already since they have it posted as 10pm online, the worker was extremely rude and had such an unnecessary attitude. She refused service, slammed the window shut, and started cussing and yelling with her coworker... with no regard that i was still there with my young son. She continued talking about the customer and slamming things. I kindly told the worker that served us that could probably reach out to their manager to inform of the discrepancy in store hours. I had a terrible experience tonight with a young lady working as a cashier on the closing shift. We drove all the way to Bruster's after dinner to end the night with dessert. We arrived at Bruster's a few minutes before 9:00 pm not knowing they closed at 9:00 pm because apparently the store hour is incorrect on Yelp at 10:00 pm. Upon our arrival we asked if they were still taking orders, the cashier rudely responded technically they had to. The first family placed their order. We had two other families behind waiting to order next. It was unfortunate it was my family next to order because my kids had to witness what they did. My 9 year old and 4 year old had their order ready so I walked up the window about to place our order when the cashier said, harshly, they are closed while slamming the window. My kids were excited to have ice cream but ended up miserable, more on how the cashier handled the situation than the ice cream itself. We had other kids with us too. I do not want to bash on the company as Bruster's do have good ice cream. However, this staff ruined it for us all. She lacks decent customer service and empathy. They recommended the waffle cone because they make it in house vs everything else which they order in. We had 8 people so they didn't seem to limit our samples, but I did see another review that they limit to 2 per person. When ordering the different sizes, a small is 2 scoops, regular is 3, and large is 4. You can have as many flavors as one per scoop. My wife got the cookie butter and banana cream pie. Both extremely great choices. Both had nice and tasty chunks that elevated the experience. The waffle cone was pretty solid too. I got the sea salt caramel and chocolate chip cookie dough. Cookie dough had a ton of chunks in it, super delicious and the salted caramel was good too. My mom got the Cherry and butter pecan and she loved both. At first I thought it was a strange combination, but the gentleman helping us explained that everything pairs well with the nutty flavors. Cherry is probably their least sweet fruity flavor, which is another reason my mom chose it. I totally recommend stopping by and giving this place a try. We'll be back! read more

I was really confused when we pulled up to this place. From far away it looks like a building you can walk into BUT it is definitely a lie because you cannot. It's like a side of a building with two counters you order from. All around the counters are the endless options of ice cream variations. Sundaes, shakes, freezes, smoothies, cones, concrete mixers. Just a bunch of stuff. Because of how busy they get, you only get two samples per person. I tried the Orange Sorbet. It was freaking amazing. Lol I actually didn't order that though. I ordered the Brownie Sundae. It was $6.25 which is REALLY expensive for a sundae (I was expecting something small). Well when they gave it to me through the window it was very large. It was also pretty hot. So it was the huge hot brownie covered with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, real whipped cream and a cherry. It was great! If you are down for a good treat and willing to pay for it then go to Brusters, it will not disappoint. I got the cherry vanilla ice cream in a small waffle cone. Small cones have 2 scoops, regular cones and 3 scoops and a large cone has 4 scoops of ice cream! Cherry Vanilla is pretty good, it is just regular vanilla with maraschino cherries mixed in. The girlfriend went with the Reese's Cup Blast. A 16oz is more then enough for one person, yet they have a 22oz sized portion too! Overall a good experience, $12 for a Blast and a small waffle cone is a little up there but the taste, consistency and service were great. Just finished trying their regular sundae. Not sure how many scoops were supposed to be in this sundae, but the there was a lot of empty space at the bottom of my cup/bowl. When they first opened here I was quite interested in trying this place since many east coast business don't really come to the west. Today I just happened to be in the area and have some free time and got to check it out. First thing you will notice is it's all outdoor seating. There is aren't any indoor seating for customers. In fact, everything is outdoors only from ordering to seating. This could be a problem when they are busy and their very limited seating but there is additional seating near the Subway. The server was super friendly and service was fast. I got one of their premium sundaes, hot fudge brownie, which had whip cream, candied cherry, hot fudge, brownie, and vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was good, the whip cream was the airy kind, and the brownie was dry. Their ice cream is super flavorful and rich. I love how it's made fresh and daily (if I'm not mistaken). The ice cream is super moist and the spoon cuts right through it. Very easy to eat. Great ice cream and flavors! My issue is with the service. It's fairly ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, everyone is polite and kind, but it is so slow! Several times I have visited with there being only one other customer, and it still takes an unreasonably long time to get my two scoops of ice cream. Most recently I went to get two cups of ice cream each with two scoops in it. There was one other person there waiting for his ice cream. I ordered, and waited for, I kid you not, 20 minutes before I got both ice creams. I'm not sure what the hold up is on getting a grand total of 4 scoops of ice cream. It wasn't busy at all either. Shout out to Anthony at Bruster's! We went to Bruster's in Cypress tonight for ice cream. When we got to the window we were greeted by young man by the name of Anthony, he smiled and was very welcoming and friendly. Anthony went out of his way to provide us with excellent customer service. It's been a long time since we have come across someone so friendly and genuinely happy to serve us. We hope Anthony's Manager(s) see this, you truly have an employee that should be valued. Bruster's has Really good quality ice cream with lots of great flavors to choose from. The price is fair and there is plenty of parking. There is not a lot of seating and because the ice cream is so good there might be a line, but it's worth the wait. Bruster's is also Dog Friendly, they will make your dog a little dog Sunday (Vanilla ice cram with crushed waffle cone on top) our dog Daisy loved it.
