This was my first time here. The guy was nice, and patient , we didn't know what we wanted. Great portions. I thought for the price it would be smaller portions. But it wasn't. After purchasing my ice cream, I noticed they do rewards. I asked if I could get the points. But at that point it was too late. So great food, great service. I went here today with my boyfriend and we we're greeted very nicely by a kid named luke. As we were waiting for our ice cream I could hear the girls in the back talking about how they did not like my shirt and cussing while talking about it. Also one of the girls with a black hat did not have her mask on while preparing the ice cream. When I got my ice cream luke apologized for them. I'm only giving two stars because of how nicely we were greeted. I went there to get ice cream not to get criticized on what I wear. These girls need to be retrained or fired. Anthony was amazing. I was overwhelmed with the menu and almost left because of the size. A nothing made me feel comfortable and was funny went through the menu and didn't rush me. Bruster's serves good old American ice cream. No fancy gelato here, just sweet and creamy freshly made ice cream. They have so many flavors, at least 20 ice cream flavors as well as a few sorbets. A scoop will run you $4, a 4 scoop sampler $5.50, a much better value and plenty for 2+ people to share as their ice cream is extremely rich and sweet. Honestly, you feel 5 years old again after the first bite. It is chock full of whatever mix ins that flavor has, caramel oozing out with every bite, gobs of real peanut butter, loads of chocolate chips, you name it. Service is nice, they also offer sundaes, shakes, floats, all good and generous portions. Perfect spot to take kids or if you love ice cream and overly sweet as much as I do. YUMMY! I love going here when I am craving ice cream. They have every flavor you can ask for, and they let you try as many flavors as you want without feeling like you are a hassle. I had high hope for Brusters, thinking it similar to Handel's. The look, offerings, and style of the two are very comparable, and, according to our ice cream scooper, the creator of Brusters was a former Handel's employee. But, the similarity ends there as the actual taste of the ice cream was overly disappointing. We ordered two smalls (which are two scoops each). One was white turtle and chocolate chip cookie dough and the other was banana cream pie with rocky road. Of all the flavors, white turtle was the best. Both the chocolate chip cookie dough and rocky road were very bland while the banana cream pie tasted like it was chocked full of artificial sweetener and left a bad, lingering taste. As a Handel's Addict I had a hard time going to Bruster's. I mean...I would drive to Redondo Beach for my Graham Central Station...REDONDO BEACH. Then Timmy S. is all "Bruster's is delicious" and it's 15 minutes from my house?! What? Ok. Here we go. So I walk up and I'm seeing all of the signage...where am I? $2 Tuesdays....Waffle Cone Wednesdays...this all looks too familiar and then the menu...Cherry Vanilla, Graham Central Station....it's too good to be true. Did someone just put Handel's fraternal twin and slam it down in Cypress? I ordered 2 pints and left. The ordering takes awhile, they are definitely quicker at Handels. I got home and here is the true test...the graham central station. It's very different and yet also the same. It's kind of hard to explain. There is more chocolate and it's not the same shape, I don't know. Let's just say it's different, but if your craving it, it's okay. I'm actually wondering if I had Bruster's version first, maybe I would think Handels was weird. Either way, Bruster's does the trick if you don't want to drive all the way to Redondo Beach. read more

I got the Graham Central Station (has Graham cracker chunks with chocolate pieces) and Death By Chocolate (chocolate ice cream with brownie chunks) both flavors are amazing, not too sweet, but creamy (not too thick, great consistency) and delicious! They have different flavors made everyday. They also serve sherbet, sorbet, yogurt, and Italian ice. You can sample the ice cream flavors. The style here is like those old school ice cream parlor with 60s style music playing in the background. You just walk up to order and pick up your treat. Their service is friendly and welcoming. I think this place is a bit overrated. It's good ice cream but nothing special. Its a walk up ice cream place which was a bummer because I was hoping for a sit down ice cream parlor. Came here on a week night and there was about 3 people ahead of me. Waited about 20 minutes before I finally got my turn. They graciously give as many samples as you want but that means everyone ahead of me took forever to make a decision while only one employee ran around fetching countless samples. I ended up getting the 4 ice cream scoop combo for $6. I got mocha almond, pistachio, peanut butter crunch, and oreo cheesecake. All of the flavors were really sweet but I did like the peanut butter crunch the best. I do like how they have a lot of flavors to choose from so I may give it another try if I have a sweet tooth. I love peanut butter and was happy to see that Bruster's had 2 flavors which included peanut butter. I opted for the peanut butter crunch and it was delicious (vanilla ice cream with peanut butter swirl and pieces of peanut butter crunch)! The ice cream was fresh and creamy and had real chunks of peanut butter. The waffle cone was delicious, crisp and tasted fresh as well. The server was great and happy to let me try any flavor. But ample space inside for people to wait. So if it is 90 degrees like it basically is everyday, you will burn up waiting in line. East coast business model (foolish). Recommendations for management to prevent from failing: Change ordering from window to ordering inside. Hire more staff to process the orders separate from the cashiers. Graham Central Station is the best ice cream I've ever had. I drive from San Diego to OC to enjoy it every once in a while. It's that good.

I came here again to give this place another shot. My first experience was when Brusters first opened. I had thought that the ice cream was overly sweet... After a few months, I decided to try it again. The service here is always very great. I was able to try the flavors I wanted and the girl who helped me was very helpful. Graham Central Station: So good! I can see why this is a popular choice here. I wish that the graham swirl wasn't so condense and more bready, but it's still a great flavor. Graham Canyon: I tried this to see if I would like it, but the sample I had was overpowered with caramel. Salted Caramel: Good! Sweet with the right amount of salty. It's actually salty, which I like. Green Tea: Has strong green tea flavor. I tried it twice, but thought it was a little too sweet. Overall, the ice cream here is pretty sweet, but still very good. They have many flavor options and also have italian ice, sorbet, and sherbert. Their $2 small scoop on Tuesdays is a really great deal. If I was a big fan of waffle cone, I would definitely come on Wednesdays for the $3.49 small waffle deal. read more
