I came in 2/15/24 and the food took FOREVER to come out. I've been to this place plenty of times and have NEVER waited that long for a meal especially when it was just 2 of us. When i asked why the wait was so long i was told it was because it was understaffed and with only 1 cook which i think is INSANE for a restaurant to do. Been passing Bruxie at 2 locations for a while and finally decided to try it ! The chicken stops were flavorful and lightly breaded. You can see the fresh parsley flakes! I've been going to this Bruxie location for years. So happy to see that Bruxie has expanded all throughout SoCal and even Korea. The Bruxie menu from 7-8 years ago used to be a lot different than their current menus. They used to have way more sandwiches in different categories, such as Lox + Cucumber + Cream Cheese (my fave!). Now they took out most of those and added salads and plain fried chicken. With the hype in recent years surrounding fried chicken, it definitely makes sense for them to sell just fried chicken, but I really do miss some of the old sandwiches they had. I recently tried their Southern BBQ sandwich and it was delicious! I'm not a big fan of waffles usually, but Bruxie has always been the one place where I loveeee waffles. Our orders were messed up, the staff took zero responsibility for the mistake and was pretty rude, defensive about it, and not sympathetic whatsoever. My kids were SO HUNGRY. I noticed that a few other customers were going to the staff asking about their orders as well. This so the second time I've been to this Bruxie. The first visit was just as bad -- customer service was snarky, and the food was tough. So I wanted to give it one more try and this was a major bust. This place has some of the juiciest and most tender chicken I've ever tasted. Ordered the original chicken waffle sandwich and it was delicious. The waffle itself was the perfect thickness and cooked very nicely too. The staff was very kind and accommodating as well. My boyfriend and I accidentally ordered a couple of items with pork products in them, which we don't eat for religious reasons. Delicious food and fantastic customer service by Kameron! Came here for something different to celebrate a birthday and we had a great time. We grab the last large table available on the patio where they did a great job with social distancing and having hand sanitizer available to all guests! Masks were enforced past a certain point and staff was wearing gloves or like Kameron he made a point to clean his hands to help each customer even if it was to refill a drink. Came here for brunch on Sunday around 11am and it wasn't too busy yet. Parking garage had plenty of spaces also. You order at the counter and seat yourself. We shared the original chicken sandwich and made it a combo for an extra $3.99 which includes two sides/drink options. We chose the spiced tots (which tasted just like regular tots to me) and the shorty shake (their featured flavor was cookies and cream, very good but small like their water cup size). The original chicken sandwich was sooo good!!! I don't normally like fried chicken sandwiches because they tend to be too heavy and the chicken is usually dry so I was pleasantly surprised. I've always enjoyed my trips to Bruxies. Every location has nice customer service and are very cheery and helpful with suggestions. The one in Brea is the closest to me and usually we come during lunch hours. My go-to is the Bruxie burger, simple and not too heavy. It's a traditional burger with a soft and airy waffle. The waffles are always made the same, with a perfect crunch on the outside and light and airy on the inside. The Irish nachos can be heavy because they are very liberal with the cheesy sauce and bacon. I wish the bacon was a little crispier but it's still really good. They remind me of pub snacks and bar food, and definitely shareable! We also ordered the bacon, egg and cheese waffle. It's a traditional breakfast sandwich. Simple and filling. This sandwich was a little on the heavier side, the fried egg was greasy, plus's the cheese and bacon adds a lot of fats to this sandwich. Great for a hangover meal though!! Tenders and fries were also good. The tenders are large and come with many different sauces to choose from. They were juicy and cooked well, not dry at all. The breading was light but you can still taste the seasonings and dill. Staff was extremely friendly and upbeat. There was a line and one of the employees came out and apologized for the wait and explained the back orders. We didn't wait too long for the rest of our meal to arrive, but we really appreciated them for explaining it and apologizing. Drink station is self-serve but can get congested because it's adjacent to the cashier taking orders. The inside is small, but all Bruxies are. This review is based on the service at this establishment so the owner can do something about it. We came to eat prior to our movie and you could not tell who worked there vs clients. The staff was dressed 100% as a customer and no one wanted to be there. We could not get anyone to help for a few minutes as well and this is the coup de gras, the young woman who came over, literally put her elbow on the side of the desk and her chin on her face looking at us like, please get me out of here. It was strange! The food was incorrectly taken so it had to be corrected. Once it was corrected, the food was just fine. As we ate, we were finally able to make out the staff as they all acted the same. Stood in the back, horsed around very loudly, on their phones 100% of the time, not going to any customer or keeping up with the establishment. It was like a 'hang-out' for them. I ordered the Kickin' Chicken, one of their fried chicken and waffle sandwich. I was hoping for a dry rub but instead the chicken was drenched with a mildly spicy oil. The sandwich came with too much mayo that overshadowed the fried chicken flavor. The waffle was thin and buttery. The flavor was good but the waffle was a little too crunchy for my liking. It tasted more like a chip than a waffle. Probably the worst thing on the menu is the seasoned waffle cut fries. First of all, the fries were hardly seasoned (if at all..). As far as chicken and waffles go, I heard good things about Bruxie. I was taking my scuba diving license in Brea last weekend and it was just the right time that I came to try this place everyone has been talking about. I ordered the Original which consist of Seasoned Breast, Chili Honey, and Cider Slaw as a Waffle sandwich.  The texture of the waffle and the chicken does not disappoint. The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft on the side. It acted as a great 'bread' for the chicken. The chicken was fried just right on the outside and still very juicy on the inside. However, what was disappointing for me was the taste of the whole thing. I can barely taste the chili honey flavor. If I had some salt and paper next to me, I would've gave my sandwich a few shakes. I was expecting great things, but I was a little disappointed by the flavor for the sandwich. I do want to go back and give it another shot though. Since the texture of the waffle and chicken was quite good, but it was just an exception for the flavor this time.  Overall, next time when I go back, I will try a more loaded sandwich. This time I ordered the "Original" chicken and waffle sandwich (comes with fried chicken and buttermilk waffle) and the 2-piece fried chicken with bacon-cheddar waffle. You can never go wrong with the "Original." I love the drizzle of chili honey on both the waffle and the chicken - just the perfect amount of sweetness. I didn't like the 2-piece chicken that came with my bacon-cheddar waffle meal though. It was clearly overcooked- I barely tasted any chicken, pretty much all fried flour. I also ordered the seasoned fries (nothing special) and the strawberry lemonade (pretty good). If you add fries and a drink to your sandwich order, it's only $3.50 extra. If you order the fries alone, it's already $2.95. You can get free refills on your drink by the way. Overall, just an average experience at Bruxie, so I will give it 3 stars. read more

In terms of a Chicken & Waffle Sandwich, it's the best I ever had, best I ever had. In the Original sandwich, the waffle "buns" are fluffy and soft, yet just dense enough to keep the sandwich together structurally. There's a really delicious syrup that's used in moderation. The slaw on this sandwich is terrific and goes really well. The chicken is moist, and its batter is light and just enough. The waffle cut fries are tasty enough. The portion size looks lacking, but it turns out to be a good amount. The soda fountain has some serious sugar in a good way. Root beer all the way. Something about the syrup and sugar and soda just tastes fresh. We came at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. When we arrived, there was a line of 1 to order and there was plenty of open tables. Parking was ample at this time too. Within about a half hour, the line ballooned to like a dozen people and got longer by the minute. I have driven around this place many times while in the Brea area but never stopped by to try it. I finally had the chance to try this place, since they are known for their waffle sandwiches. We tried a few items, the original sandwich, holy chicken and a kids Bruxie waffle breakfast. I actually haven't gone here in years. What I noticed is that the menu is very different from the first time I've gone. They used to have this smoked salmon and cream cheese waffle sandwich that I loved! But now they've downsized the menu which is probably for the best and you can't go wrong with the chicken and waffle combo. We got the holy chicken and it was tasty! The sweet and savory with the kick of the siracha Mayo was a great combo. My only thing is that it fell apart pretty easily and it was messy to eat.
