This is a gem! Every day I always tell myself to go try it out for lunch but it is always packed. This Friday was dead, so decided to try it out. The wait was a little long because they had a ton of online orders so we did have to wait. Once we got our food, it was fresh and hot. I ordered the 5 tender meal with fries and a strawberry lemonade. So much food. The chicken tenders were huge. I got the original seasoned tenders and BBQ sauce but you can choose from other flavors. The strawberry lemonade was on the sweeter side so did not get any refill. They play music outside so we got to eat our lunch with great music on a sunny day. It's almost got this charming, back in time California vibe, with the view of the school and palm trees surrounding it. The gentleman took my order and I was able to pay using apple pay. I ordered the Holy Chicken waffle breakfast sandwich combo with waffle fries and strawberry lemonade and took a seat. Someone brought my order to me and I took an instagrammable photo of the perfect brunch sandwich on the most beautiful sunny California day. The sandwich had an over easy egg, piece of bacon, maple syrup and fried chicken breast , between two waffles. Someone came up later and asked if needed a re-fill and topped off my drink. I think the manager (a tall guy) came up and wiped my table and the other tables due to the light wind that was blowing. He was trying to stay ahead of the dust before more people came. It's always nice to go and see how the menu seems to have expanded (especially post pandemic). The setup of this place is all outdoors with a window to order from. Nice and shaded. Water on the side and quirky decor. You pick your picnic table and they bring the order to you. The staff come up to you and offer to refill your drink (soda and iced coffee!). That's a nice touch. The waffle sandwiches are the winners here - crispy waffles on both ends you can't go wrong with either savory or sweet. The regular waffle comes with a ton of powdered sugar so be warned. I was in the area and had been craving fried chicken for a while. I've heard of Bruxie but had never been and decided that today would be the day. The place is very casual and filled with great staff. I was able to get seated in their lovely patio and my food was promptly brought out to me by Nate, who by the way can hold good conversation with customers and provides a comforting and welcoming experience. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles are damn buttery and fluffy with a nice crisp to it to melt in your mouth! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and not overdone like other places. The chicken is fried so we'll that you still have a moist and tender bite. I can't tell you how many times I've had fried chicken that was drier that the Sahara desert. In short, Bruxie is superb. Had heard wonderful things about Bruxie so was excited to finally check out the Orange Circle location for an early dinner one evening. Loved the vibe of the outdoor seating, which was plentiful, especially since our hands were about to get pretty messy. This was my first time here so I had to try one of the chicken & waffle sandwiches. I went with the Kickin "Nashville" Hot since I love spice, and my friend got the chicken tenders with fries because he had been here multiple times before. While not the healthiest option, the sandwich definitely did not disappoint on its mixture of flavors!! Had to drink multiple glasses of water but loved the sauce and of course the pickles to compliment everything out. The waffles had a nice crisp with a warm, sweet, and soft center and the chicken portion was filling and perfectly fried. Our first stop every time we visit OC is Bruxie's. We absolutely love the texture and taste of the waffles and can't get it like that anywhere else. It's so good! One of the greatest breakfast sandwiches is the Holy Chicken. Love the sweetness and crispiness of the maple glazed chicken and the out of the world texture and taste of the waffle and the fried egg on top with the yolk all over the place. SOOO SOOO GOOD. The portion was good for me and the taste of the chili honey and homemade slaw worked well with one another. Sauce did cost extra, but my friends shared theirs with me. The combination of the waffle with the chicken and slaw didn't harmonize well; could've settled for just the chicken and slaw. There also could've been more of the drink considering its price, but it had the right amount of sweetness for me, and the strawberry inclusion for a classic "Arnold Palmer" was a fun try ! Stopped by this location in Orange yesterday for the first time since pre-pandemic. Being it was a Sunday morning, they were slammed. Staff taking orders managed the long line well, but after that, the service aspect seemed to go downhill. Though the ordering time was quick, the wait time for food was super long. Between the in person orders and online orders, the kitchen didn't seem like they were able to keep up. They had two staff members running orders, but they also seemed super overwhelmed. The busyness definitely seemed to take a toll on them as my husband and I approached them twice with one question and a request and the staff seemed a little bothered by us approaching them. We were actually surprised since the service is usually very friendly. Though the food did take awhile to get, it was well-worth the wait. We ordered two Holy Chickens and two orders of tots and all of our food was cooked to perfection. The waffle was cooked perfectly with just the right crisp. The chicken was big, juicy, and fried nicely with great flavor. The egg had just the right ooze to it when I broke the yolk and the sauce added the perfect amount of heat without being overwhelming. It was a divine start to my Sunday! It was apparent that the kitchen took their time and made the food with care. It made the wait heavenly. This place doesn't know the difference between the saying "white and dark chicken meat." I ate here before and they sell a lot of chicken options. I love fried chicken sandwiches , so I don't know why I didn't come back until more than a year later.. the menu looks fantastic! So many options. A women approached us if we had any questions. I asked "which chicken sandwich has 'dark meat'?" (Because most fried chicken sandwiches are made with white meat and I prefer dark meat). She looked confused and asked me "which one is not chicken?" I rephrased my question "are all your sandwiches 'white meat' ?" She understood and said "yes all white meat". So I pivot from a sandwich I wanted and asked her "which chicken on the menu is dark?" She turned around and asked another co worker what I meant by "dark meat"? And another women said the same thing! "You mean which is not chicken?" Am I in the twilight zone? Even though they're most well known for their waffle sandwiches, I usually get their chicken tenders and fries because their chicken tenders are some of the best in Orange County. I prefer them to Carl's Jr., Raising Cane's, and Jaxons' tenders. They're so flavorful and crisp! And I love how you can choose two different dipping sauces. So happy to finally be back, heck, I still have my Bruxie gift cards from Costco. :) It was truly a hot day during this particular visit. But we were able to get a table with umbrellas and plus the overhead misting cooled people off while they dined or waited for their food. The place was packed despite it being 95 F!! The service was highly attentive and friendly and we really enjoyed the Original Chicken, the Holy Chicken and Bruxie Burger. We also wanted some protein so we got the chicken strips with an assortment of sauces. The waffle itself is very crispy and light and goes so well with everything. Not to be outdone by their sandwiches, Bruxie also makes a solid salad which combines avocado, chicken (you can get grilled), egg and goat cheese. But really my favorite has to be their shakes - the Blueberry in particular, it's so creamy and smooth (make sure to get whipped cream with yours). What we ordered: - Strawberry Crème Brûlée: This was always one of my favorite desserts. It was only offered seasonally in the beginning so I'm glad to see it stayed on the menu. The custard was just the worried that amount of sweetness and I loved the burnt sugar bites in between. - Chicken Tenders & Waffle Fries: Decent portions. I had always ordered them with the original seasoning prior but I decided to try out the Nashville Dry Rub. Still really good but I think I prefer their original. I chose their house-made ranch as my dipping sauce and it complimented the chicken really well. Even came with 2-3 decent sized pickle chips. The waffle fries were perfectly cooked with the right amount of saltiness. - Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich: I was so sad to say this sandwich was disappointing. Should've stuck to the original flavor. The chicken was too battered and therefore super oily. The tenders were more on the juicy and meaty side so I'm surprised this was an issue with the sandwich.
