The menu here has a twist, waffles instead of bread buns. An interesting idea and a change of pace from what people normally get. However, on my Broxie Burger, the waffles became a mess, and if I had a knife and fork that would have been superior to using my hands. That being said, it's a good burger. The Angus beef was cooked to my specification, medium in my case. The cheese and burger sauce were great tasting, but added to the mess. For an extra charge, I added an egg, which I liked. I also had a side of Cole Slaw. Lots of fresh cabbage, but I would have liked it more if it wasn't so dry. Pretty much just cabbage and very little (if any) mayo. Maybe others prefer less mayo in their cole slaw, but I like my slaw more on the moist side. The day I was here, there was a major rainstorm. There was some covered seating, but most of the seating was outdoors in the rain. Not much that can be done about that. read more

First of all, the service was amazing. I rated 2 stars for that.. the food was horrible. I have not been to this location in many years. In fact, the last time I went it was owned by somebody else and it was amazing. I had no idea it changed hands and I wish I had. I spent $40 on the worst crap food ever. Even the Coke was flat. The chicken inside of the breading was very tender and moist, but the breading was very greasy. The waffle was premade and cold and the fruit was over-ripe and nasty. I hadn't eaten all day so I ate it anyway and had an upset stomach several hours later. I would never recommend this place. My daughter dined with me and had the same experience. Our waitress was amazing and I hope she finds a better job at a better place. read more

Yummmmmmm We were down the road at the farmers market and wanted to grab brunch near by, this happened to be literally down the street. I've never had chicken and waffles but have definitely seen it throughout the years, and it is not a disappointment! The waffles are perfect and their chicken batter is flavorful with a small spice but nothing crazy. Love the outdoor seating , the vibe in old Orange town is just perfect for brunch activities. read more

So the service here I would say is above and beyond very great but when I got home and cut open into my burritos, I ordered sausage burrito and asked for a chicken one and then the chicken one I got a burnt black huge piece in the other half of the burrito, this is a one and done place not coming back. read more

Personally not a big fan of chicken and waffles but this place is good. The waffles are thinner than other places which made it a lot easier to eat. The creme brulee and strawberry waffles were really good. The workers were fast and there's seating available outside. They also have water available. Overall, if you like chicken and waffles then i recommend this place. read more

Consistently great. Food is always hot, we never have to wait long, and the service is always patient & friendly which is a must with 2 small kids. Their tenders have so much flavor - cant go wrong with their two piece. Good size of food for lunch. I always ask for a side of their cheese sauce - so good on their fries and tenders. I pre order online if in a rush. Sometimes the wait for food can take a while. But worth it! read more

We came here on a non-busy evening and we ordered the original and the cluck (egg and bacon) with a combo. We were very excited since we tried this location before and it was quite good. When we tried it today after post-covid, I got the most hardest and dry waffle breading, super sweet sauce, oily, and dry fries. Eating the waffle itself was so hard it scraped my mouth. The outdoor seating wasn't too bad but I would not come back. We paid almost $43 for food. I would recommend finding another location or another place to eat. read more

So this is an update to an earlier review from 3 yrs ago. (This review is specific to the Orange location.) Happy to say it's stil consistently fantastic. Not sure what black magic they have but their fried foods (chicken, tots, waffle fries) are always seasoned and fried to perfection, with outstanding texture inside and out. Can't say enough good things about this place. It has, so far, never disappointed. read more

I. love. Bruxie. Been a fan since day one and I will always keep coming back! Honestly been going here for years. I usually get the Loaded Waffle Fries (Irish Nachos was the old name) and a Waffle Sandwich, usually Green Eggs and Ham. Sometimes I get their Chicken Tenders, Custard and Shakes. I would go out of my way to come here. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything is good. Their chicken is some of the best chicken! I would say this is one of my favorite places for fried chicken. The outside is crispy and the inside and juicy and moist. And their waffles are just so good, unique for sure and I can't find them anywhere else. I'm so sad though that some of their locations have closed down due to the pandemic but this one is still open! Green Eggs and Ham is probably my favorite. But I've tried all their other waffle sandwiches and again you really can't go wrong. Their sandwiches are huge, I usually only eat half and save the rest for later. For the loaded waffle fries, I like to share with someone, can't finish on my own. Their chicken tenders are fire. Their custard and shakes are also amazing. This one is located in Old Towne Orange. They have a small free parking lot behind the building, sometimes I will find parking there, if not then I will find parking on the street for free, sometimes you have to park further and walk. The service is awesome and there's usually no wait, at least when I go. I like their outdoor seating area, it's so cute! It's casual yet modern and is shaded. They don't have indoor seating. I used to come here a lot pre-pandemic. I think price is fair, always worth it to me and a lot of food. read more

WoW!!! This place is packed with personality and flavor! I don't remember everyone's name, but for our first visit they walked us through the menu, checked in several times after we ordered. Incredible waffle sandwiches. This place never disappoints. If you order through DoorDash it's a lot more expensive. The place itself is cute too, like a little outside stand hit. Bruxie is kitty corner from Chapman University and is an obviously popular go-to for many students and locals. The way they make waffles here is mind blowing! A high-crunch but light exterior with warm soft center. You pretty much imagine what a perfect waffle is, and that's what you get. The constant line moves briskly but sometimes the wait for your order can take a while. Chicken and waffle Fried chicken is tender, hot and juicy. Waffle here comes with butter and syrup but seriously you could eat it without and would be totally enjoyable. Strawberry waffle Whipped cream, strawberries and strawberry puree. Awesome delicious. I had a pretty disappointing experience at this Bruxie location. I ordered a shake and tater tots, but only received the shake. When I brought it up, the manager on duty, the one with the rose tattoo behind his ear, didn't seem interested in actually fixing the issue. No apology, no urgency, nothing. It's frustrating to pay for food you don't get, and even worse when the person in charge doesn't seem to care. Definitely not the level of service I expected, and I won't be coming back to this location anytime soon. If I can get my tip voided, that would be even better! read more

There was a line... it's gotta be good...? My mouth was already watering as I was walking toward the line. There was a worker talking to each group in line to give recommendations and take questions. I really enjoyed that because it was my first time. Holy Chicken-- PERFECT waffle. (Well-- all the waffles were made to perfection) PERFECT amount of sweet, hint spice and the flavors mixed well. Best birthday brunch ever! The people working were so sweet, I walked up wearing my birthday headband and immediately were welcomed with a "Happy Birthday!" They also then offered me a free custard shake and I chose the PEACHES & CREAM SHAKE, DELICIOUS! It really made my day. I stopped by Bruxie recently and had the Nutella waffle and an Oreo shake, and while both were absolutely delicious (seriously, that waffle was crispy on the outside, warm and gooey inside, and the Nutella was perfectly balanced--not overwhelming), what truly made my visit exceptional was the server whose name is Sheyli. From the moment I walked in, she was very friendly, welcoming, and made the entire experience feel personal. She took the time to explain a few menu items, gave honest recommendations, and made sure my order came out exactly right. It's rare to find someone who clearly enjoys what they do and takes pride in making customers feel at home, but this server absolutely did. The Oreo shake? Creamy, rich, and nostalgic in the best way. But honestly, even if the food hadn't been as good (which it was!), I'd still come back because of the incredible service. A great server makes all the difference, and Sheyli was a standout. read more

Tonight was mine and my families first time eating here. Our experience was great! The food was so delicious! We loved all the sauces we got! All made in house, which made it much more delicious! MIL wanted Belgium waffles. Thankful yet again to yelpers. Needed a place close to CHOC & just up the street from Chapman University. This place is 100% outdoors. A lot of seating. Might be a little warm if the temp is hot. Wow, wow, wow WONDERFUL Belgium waffles. Nice scoop of whipped butter on top with their own Bruxie mini bottles of maple syrup. Yeah, very cute. Saw boxes of Bruxie brand waffle mix as we entered. I believe this is a mini chain of Bruxie restaurants. Anyway, legit Belgium waffles. Nice & light. Extra bit of flakiness seemed to coat the waffles. Large pockets to accept all the butter & syrup. Slightly "tart" from buttermilk maybe? Or perhaps sourdough? VERY VERY tasty. I ordered a chicken & waffle combo. They only serve chicken breast. This was pounded thin. Crispy crust, tender chicken, thinner piece (~3/4" of chicken) not a lot of breading, which I appreciated. Plenty of hot sauces at the service area. MIL had fresh strawberries & cream with waffle & sides of sausage & egg. A very generous portion of whipped cream topped the sliced strawberries. She loved this. Various combinations of waffles with fruit, alone, with fried chicken. Sorry, forgot to get a picture of the menu. Must be a neighborhood fav as well. I feel like I would've reviewed this place a while ago. I dont have the pictures I took, but I can definitely say this is an awesome place. I went there for lunch and it was delicious. It's really different than most places. A lot of the food is served with like a waffle bun. The selection was good, and the food wasn't overly greasy or anything...seasoned and cooked really well. I wish I could remember what the eff I ate there last time!! Anyway, also, the atmosphere is chill because eating outside they have misters spraying...which I find delightful. Service was good, idk, I have to go back there and write a review that doesn't sound like I'm just ranting. read more

Hi. Thanks for your question. Sure, you can ask for it to be cooked without the seasoned flour and just regular flour. Due to our marinating process, the chick will still be flavorful but without rosemary.

In March of 2020, all Bruxie locations in SoCal closed due to CV-19. In early October 2020, two Bruxie locations reopened: Old Town Orange on Glassell, and Brea on Birch St. As of this report on 11/24/2020, only these two locations have reopened.

Which Bruxie can I still get the pastrami waffle sandwich?

The Orange location is back open and has the Hot Pastrami and Swiss on the menu. Such a great sandwich.

When I asked when the manager would be available or when I could expect a call, he couldn't even tell me. My time is worth more than driving back to the restaurant over two sandwiches that were made incorrectly in the first place. To make matters worse, trying to get help through the app is pointless because it just tells you to contact the restaurant. So if your order is wrong, the app sends you to the store, and the store tells you they can't do anything without a manager. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What made this a terrible experience was the complete lack of effort to make the mistake right. Very disappointing, especially since I've never had an issue here before.

It was food and perfect with the salad and kettle chips. I throughly enjoyed the service and food. I went back to get a chocolate chip cookie and they ran out. However Julian was kind enough to give me a small scoop of gelato on them because of it. This is a great family owned business with great food and service.

If you find yourself near Old Towne Orange and you aren't stopping at Bruxie, you are seriously missing out. Walking in, you might expect a solid, casual bite, but what you actually get is an absolute masterclass in fried poultry. Let's talk about the star of the show: the fried chicken. It is, without exaggeration, spectacular. Bruxie has completely nailed the holy grail of fried chicken. The outside boasts a flawless, golden-brown breading that is seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of kick and savory depth. It delivers that loud, satisfying crunch with every single bite. But the real magic happens underneath that crust. The chicken is incredibly juicy on the inside, perfectly tender and bursting with flavor, completely avoiding the dry trap that so many other spots fall into. The Verdict on the Waffle Sandwich, While the chicken itself is incredible, the famous waffle sandwich format was just okay for me. Because the waffle is so light, it ended up being a pretty messy experience. Once the honey hit it and it started absorbing the moisture from the slaw, the waffle fell apart quickly. Zidane saved my life. Zidane saved my life too. These employees aren't just workers--they're heroes, and they absolutely deserve a raise. It all started when I walked into the store feeling off--lightheaded, dizzy, like something was wrong but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I thought maybe I just needed water or a quick snack, but before I could even make it to the aisle, my vision blurred and I stumbled forward. Out of nowhere, Zidane appeared, steadying me just before I collapsed. Calm and collected, he gently lowered me to the floor, speaking reassuring words as he checked my pulse. At the same time, Zidane sprinted across the store, radioing for help and grabbing water, a cold compress, and even moving customers out of the way to give me space and privacy. Together, they moved like a trained emergency response team, completely in sync. Zidane stayed by my side, talking to me to keep me conscious, asking all the right questions with this incredible calm energy that made me feel safe, while Zidane monitored my condition and relayed info to paramedics on the way. They didn't just follow protocol--they went above and beyond with urgency, empathy, and pure human compassion. I truly believe if they hadn't acted so quickly, things could've gone much worse. They are the kind of employees who turn a crisis into a moment of hope and care. They didn't clock out when it got hard--they leaned in. Zidane and Zidane didn't just save my day. They saved me. Recommended by friends (more so than family). Always great things to say about Bruxie which manages to introduce some novelty into the seemingly static tradition of sandwich making. Not only is the actual "sandwich" different, but so are the flavors. Setting: situated on the very corner of two relatively busy streets, Bruxie gets good publicity and exposure. Literally right across the street from Chapman University, the restaurant was pretty busy. I hesitate when I say restaurant because it's more of a fancy drive through. There is seating but not enough to accommodate everyone there. A friendly employee sauntered around asking if people in line had any questions. Handwritten signs conveyed a "homey" feel. Servers: always served with a smile. They were quick to bring out the food as well as clean off your table. Turnover is the key to profit. Food: We ordered strawberry creme brûlée, smoked salmon, and fried chicken. I don't like sweets but the creme brûlée was spot on. Tasty with just the right amount of crunch from the waffle (right out of the toaster)! The salmon and fried chicken tasted good but was probably a step down from the creme brûlée. The salmon was perfectly salty and the fried chicken wasn't too fried. The only drawback to the food is that the portions are a little small for the price paid. Still, a great dining experience. So I have to make somewhat of an embarrassing confession...I attend school cady-corner from this waffle joint and I have boycotted trying this place ever since it opened a couple years ago. Over the past few years, I have seen it transform into a million different restaurants that all FAILED...but not BRUXIE!!! Bruxie proved that this little corner location is not a jinx and can be SUPER profitable. I boycotted this place mainly because I am "chang" (cheap) and I had the crazy idea that I didn't want to pay $7-10 for A WAFFLE, WTF (WHAT THE WAFFLE)!!! But boy, was i wrong about that one! Bruxie is worth every wakin waffln penny! From the friendly customer service, quick turnover of orders to ready-to-eat meals, to the deliciousness of the waffle. WTF!!!! Granted I have only tried the Turkey Club and the Criss Cross Fries Nachos...I haven't been dissapointed yet. Some of my friends who usually get the fried chicken tried my turkey club and almost died! They said they are definitely ordering the turkey club the next time. Finding a good waffle these days can be quite a challenge, so stumbling upon Bruxie is like finding a hidden gem.Expectations from their website and branding might lead you to think it's a cozy cafe, but in reality, it's more of a waffle stand that might have been an old burger joint in the past. With outdoor seating and a walk-up counter, you might have to be a bit strategic to find seating, but the quick service means you won't have to wait too long. What truly sets Bruxie apart is the waffle itself. It strikes the perfect balance of crispy on the outside without being overly crunchy, while maintaining a soft and chewy interior. The Brussels Waffle with butter, sugar, and optional maple syrup is a simple delight that showcases the waffle's perfection. While the Fried Chicken waffle could use a touch more slaw, the generous piece of chicken makes up for it. I have mixed feelings about the meal I had at Bruxie. I liked the service and the staff were very friendly and fast at expediting food orders. The thing I wasn't so sure about was the savory dish I ordered, which was the Smoked Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese Waffle Sandwich. The cucumbers didn't really fit into the sandwich and it really didn't add much to it. I think if the chives were replaced with red onions, it would bring more flavoring to the sandwich itself because it was kind of bland. Bruxie should stick with the classic flavor pairings of smoked salmon, cream cheese, and red onions. Potentially adding some arugula and maybe some bell peppers would give the sandwich more of a flavor profile. With this meal, I had their fresh strawberry lemonade which was okay, it didn't impress me that much. It was on the sour side with some pulp present, so you could tell it was fresh, but it didn't really win me over. I also ordered a sweet dish which was the Seasonal Creme Brulee with fruit. Now this was an awesome waffle sandwich and I think the maple syrup with the powdered sugar really made the dish cohesive and well put together. Overall, I think some things could be improved to make their sandwiches more delectable (as far as the savory goes), but I haven't tried their other sandwiches yet so I cannot speak on behalf of it. Came here with a friend on a Sunday morning. I heard about this place from a friend and had to try it when I heard they offer breakfast Waffle sandwiches. The place itself is more like a hole-in-the-wall food stand than a restaurant. When we got there, we found an extremely long line most likely due to how inefficient their order and pick up windows were. So, onto what we ordered. My friend ordered the Prosciutto and Gruyere from the savory section of the menu and the S'mores from the sweet section. The Prosciutto sandwich was mildly flavorful with it's mustard and chives. I'm not the biggest fan of prosciutto, but my friend is and she seemed to really enjoy it. The S'mores sandwich was extremely flavorful with it's chocolate filling spilling out of the sides of the sandwich. The only complaint I have for the S'mores is that the waffle gets soggy pretty fast. I ordered the Smoked Salmon and Dill Cream Cheese since I love bagels and locks. This was pretty much the same thing except the texture of a toasted bagel was replaced by the crisp yet tender texture of their perfectly toasted waffles. The only problem I had with my sandwich is that I'm a man who enjoys quantity and all the sandwiches we ordered were lacking in the quantity department. Came here for the first time Sunday morning with boyfriend bear. Ordered their Summer Seasonal Specials: Pruscuitto Hash and Green Eggs and Ham. Oralgasm all the way. Both were equally amazing. We also ordered the Mint Chocolate Shake. Beware. Split this with someone. It is made with soft serve frozen custard and glazed with chocolate around the cup. Super rich and creamy. Second round that day, I ordered the Pulled Pork. It was ehhh. Not a pulled pork kind of gal. The second sandwich we ordered was their third Savory Special- Wild Mushroom. The is the PERFECT dish for vegetarians out there. So freaking delicious I freaking wanted to order a second but I was too freaking stuffed. Putting anything inside of a Waffle, is cheating! It makes everything better! Why have bread (boring!) when you can have your sandwich surrounded by a Waffle?! Everything I had was very good. The best being the Strawberry Crème Brulee, this thing was delicious! It's a special item, not sure if their specials are daily, weekly or monthly. Can't go wrong when you mix fruit and waffles. I also had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Waffle. The Chicken was fried perfectly and the syrup is great with it. It costs extra, but it's recommended. I just wish I would have seen the hot sauce before I finished it, it would have been a great addition. I also tried the Braised Rib Waffle. It was very good and loaded with meat. It is also a special item. It comes with waffle fries inside and a bit of Bleu Cheese. I also had the Strawberry soda. It was good, but did not blow me away. Again, another special item. Met up with my friend to catch up on all things considered. Bruxie is a fast food take out with open air seating located on Glassell, north of the circle in the City of Orange. It was Sunday. Bruxie was packed with a minor waiting line of 6 or more a clear show that this is a very popular niche fast food restaurant, specializing in all fried chicken related. However, the line moved fairly quickly. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken salad, quite good and presented unmixed in a large bowl with Romaine, Apple wood Smoked Bacon, Avocado, Egg, Tomato, Cheddar Cheese, Chives & Ranch Dressing. You get your ticket and a waitress delivers your meal to your table in the open air or umbrella seating area. Condiment table is available for plastic utensils, various chili sauces. Lately, I've been into the "Chocula" sauce which is not too spicy hot but has a nice tang. Works well with my salad. Got a side of buttermilk fried chicken steak which I took home for a later dinner snack. Ginger beer was a nice treat, a bit sweet but solved with adding some water..Good to go! Randomly came here today and it was actually my first time. I had no expectations since I heard mixed reviews. I heard this place could get reallly packed though, luckily I caught this place at a good time. Anyways, very fast and good service! but no parking :( resorted to the meters i guess. I got the salmon and dill cream cheese waffle :) it was pretty good. Nothing unique that stood out to me though. Salmon was fresh though, i guess I could give it that one. My friend got the Apple bacon cheddar egg waffle sandwich. It was okay. It tastes better with ketchup and siracha though otherwise, it a little too oily for my taste. however my friend really enjoyed it, i guess she likes oily stuff. Sugar cane soda: way too sweet. the coke itself is already sweet but this just made it taste like im chugging sugar -_- NOW onto dessert: You must get the Creme Brulee dessert!! I ate here the other night with a buddy of mine after an alumni event at Chapman University (he is the alumni, not me). We were greeted by Tyler who is kind of like the Maître D' or ambassador for Bruxie. Tyler did a tremendous job making some recommendations. I ended up ordering a 4 piece Nashville hot chicken tenders that come with waffle cut fries and my buddy ordered the regular tenders. Evidently, the girl who took my order thought I ordered a chicken waffle sandwich, so I ended up with the tenders and the waffle sandwich (they gave us the sandwich free of charge because of the mishap). Gold star for Bruxie and Tyler for making that happen. The sandwich and tenders were delicious and I recommend this place to anyone on a strict meal plan/diet if this is going to be your cheat meal. I paid for it the next morning, but it was yummy going down. I'd definitely eat here again if I want some yummy high calorie comfort food. Gourmet waffles with toppings and stuffed with things you don't normally think of? Yes, please. I came here with a friend for the first time after all the chatter about fried chicken waffle sandwich. When I got there, I saw they had specials and there was a carolina pulled pork waffle sandwich that I could pass up. My friend got the fried chicken waffle sandwich. We both ate half of each just to see which was better. They were both equally good. The waffle was not soggy (which I was afraid of) and all the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The fried chicken was tender and crispy and was even better with the maple syrup they provided in a small bottle that girls would consider "cute". The pulled pork tasted as if it was slow cooked forever and the tangy coleslaw cut the sweetness offering a great contrast in flavors that balanced very well. Other than that, I definitely want to go back and try some other sandwiches. I never thought I'd find a spot that serves up southern-style cuisine in Orange, CA but Bruxie has done just that! As a southern father, I've had my fair share of fried chicken sandwiches but the one at Bruxie is something special. The crispy, golden brown chicken is juicy and flavorful, and the tangy slaw and housemade pickles add the perfect balance of acidity. But what really blew me away was their waffle fries. Bruxie has a very special place in my heart and a designated space in my stomach - it's obvious that their food is worthy of a Golden Globe if restaurants had such a thing, with the crispiest freshest fried chicken and hand-crafted ingredients made fresh every day. I swear in college I saw a produce truck parked on that corner delivering fresh fruits and veggies every day. Gourmet fast casual food at its finest. Their employees are friendly, knowledgable, and great at their job. Their cooks have a magical way of creating a meal that fills me up and makes me whole all in one sitting! You don't walk into a place like Bruxie expecting to be blown away by every single item on their menu AND have an employee take the time to ask me how my day is going. It is very rare that I leave a review and even more so when it is a good review. We showed up and even though parking in not plentiful there was a few open spots that were fairly close. As we got up to the place the line was 5-6 people deep but moved fast. Fairly shortly after we arrived someone came out with menus and that is not all, he was very entertaining as well. He suggested the pastrami bruxie which was amazing. The girl at the register was nice nothing special. Me and my co-workers selected a table that had a few o-rings from the sodas of the previous guest. Quickly the Manager Amanda came over to wipe down our table. She was extremely nice and was our second form of entertainment. Amanda wouldn't let me throw away my trash, refill my own water, and even let us try one of there tasty treats.... Something drastic is going to have to happen to keep me from going back again and again. read more
