Oil on the driveway. Ugh…read more Called some friends to get a recommendation for a local shop. One said that Scott from Sunland was the guy. We had the car towed over (2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid), and they diagnosed the problem and repaired the issue quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, the tech made a small mistake and once we got the car home, there was more oil on the driveway and a check engine light. Ugh, again. So we called back to Scott to see what he wanted us to do. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and issues arise. How a business owner handles those issues are the difference between good businesses and great ones. This is a great one. Scott was MUCH more upset than we were! He got us back in same day and fixed the issue at no charge! (We should have paid for a necessary part, but he would not charge us.) With everything so expensive these days, and everyone trying to stretch a buck, it's hard to know if you're leaving your car with someone who cares about it as much as you do. Scott does. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough!

I originally chose Christian Brothers on McQueen and Guadalupe because they appeared organized,…read moredetail-oriented, and professional. I purchased four tires for my Ford Transit work van and trusted their recommendation, assuming they were providing the correct tires for the vehicle. Less than a year later, one of the tires began splitting. I took the van to another shop that was closer because I did not feel safe driving all the way back to their shop. It was at the new shop where I was informed that the tires installed on my van were not properly rated to handle the weight of the vehicle and should not have been installed in the first place. I contacted Christian Brothers to explain the situation and was told I would need to drive the van back to their shop -- despite the damaged tire -- for them to determine whether anything would be covered under warranty. While I was getting the quote elsewhere to replace all four tires, Christian Brothers called back and offered a slightly lower price if I purchased another full set through them. In the end, the difference was only about $100 compared to the other shop. A shop I had never even used before, and that was the cost with no additional warranties or discounts (like Christian Brothers was claiming to be giving me). They stated they were giving me tires at cost and not charging for labor, not true. They tried to make it seem like they were doing me some huge favor by giving me such a small discount. Their front desk employee, Eric was as "helpful" as he could be throughout the process, but overall should have pushed harder with his upper management to resolve this. They should have completely comped the price of the old tires as this was their, dangerous mistake. Now they're not only making money off of me but also causing me to lose additional money by missing work to fix a problem they caused. I'm extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled, especially considering the original tires that they chose were improper for a work van like mine. All of this resulted in me needing to purchase two sets of tires within a single year!!! I expressed to them that being without my van would result in loss of money as it is my work vehicle. They had no concern for my time, money and no sense of urgency to resolve the situation that they caused. I had to leave my vehicle with them for more than a day the first time and again overnight the second time. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

After a week of nothing from the dealership, my coworkers told me about Menard Auto Repair and about the amazing owner, Dan. I gave Dan a call and told him my situation. He recommended a tow company, who went right out to get my truck, and told me how he works. Dan told me he could get a used motor and that he would go through it to make sure it was good before install. We decided on a new motor from Chevrolet. The Chevrolet dealer didn't deliver the motor on time (typical auto dealership) but it finally showed up to Dan's shop. Dan's tech, Wade I think (I apologize if it wasn't), went through everything and found some parts that needed replaced. I told them to please change them. They don't even charge labor for changing those parts. WHAT?!? Great people. Anyways, they got me back on the road in record time with great quality work. I met Dan when I picked my truck up and he is a super nice guy. The kind of guy you wouldn't mind hanging out with. If you ever need anything done to your vehicle and are close to Mesa, take it to Menard Auto Repair! Dan still believes that his word is his bond. He doesn't try to gouge to on prices and find hidden items that need done just to get more money! If you want good quality and honest people, take it to Menard Auto Repair. They had to cut my exhaust in order to install it, which was the first red flag, although I must…read moreadmit it does seem to be staying in place quite well. I know this, because I had to go under my own vehicle and torque the nuts to spec after driving 500 miles, which is recommended. I mentioned this at the time of install and the guy told me that they would be able to handle it for me for FREE when the time came, which I think should be expected considering that every new exhaust should have this treatment. Instead, when I called back they told me that I would have to pay, and then couldn't even give me a straight quote. I was only able to reach two of the nuts on the exhaust, but they didn't need any tightening luckily. Here's to hoping that any other nuts are torqued to spec, because I can't afford to be overcharged at this point in my life.

I met with Logan for a quote immediately after calling Friendly Auto, who was incredibly professional and kind enough to spend a minute putting the cover piece back in for me since I couldn't reach it. Logan gave me a quote, saying the timing could take anywhere from half hour to an hour due to different pieces needing to be removed to access the bulb area. We scheduled an appointment for the following day to get the bulbs replaced. The next day, Eric (manager) helped me get situated. With the service ending up being under a half hour of labor, he ended up reducing the cost of the service due to it being quicker than expected (which was honorable). You don't always see that kind of honesty in the auto service nowadays and it was greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back here and we're pleased with the service provided!
