To start off, I lost an oil pump that cost me a motor. I didn't know where to take it so I had it towed to a Chevrolet dealer in Gilbert (They were horrible). After a week of nothing from the dealership, my coworkers told me about Menard Auto Repair and about the amazing owner, Dan. I gave Dan a call and told him my situation. He recommended a tow company, who went right out to get my truck, and told me how he works. Dan told me he could get a used motor and that he would go through it to make sure it was good before install. We decided on a new motor from Chevrolet. The Chevrolet dealer didn't deliver the motor on time (typical auto dealership) but it finally showed up to Dan's shop. Dan's tech, Wade I think (I apologize if it wasn't), went through everything and found some parts that needed replaced. I told them to please change them. They don't even charge labor for changing those parts. WHAT?!? Great people. Anyways, they got me back on the road in record time with great quality work. I met Dan when I picked my truck up and he is a super nice guy. The kind of guy you wouldn't mind hanging out with. If you ever need anything done to your vehicle and are close to Mesa, take it to Menard Auto Repair! Dan still believes that his word is his bond. He doesn't try to gouge to on prices and find hidden items that need done just to get more money! If you want good quality and honest people, take it to Menard Auto Repair. I love doing business with a really honest family owned business. Gratefully these folks are not only that, they are very knowledgeable, fair, dependable and skilled. I brought my Honda CRV to the dealer after they charged the AC and it lasted a day. Returning they checked it out and said, the compressor had created shrapnel and contaminated the system and would run about $5200. It was a fact, but gratefully I called Ricky at Japan Mtr s. ,explained the situation and he said get it out of there I will do the job, for about half with a lifetime warranty. He did exactly that. After receiving a laundry list of repairs needed on my car from a local Toyota dealership, I decided to get a second opinion from a local independent mechanic. My daughter suggested Japan Motors so an appointment was made. I met Dan and Danielle, the new owners, and discussed all of the repairs that I was expecting to have done by showing the video I received from the dealership. They examined my car and to my surprise and relief, the majority of the issues weren't issues after all. They completed several services and I now feel that I have found someone I can trust to take care of my vehicle. I brought my SUV to this mechanic named Dan that owns the shop I used to bring another vehicle to the shop when his uncle or whoever he's related to owned this business anyways I had them put on new shocks struts and mounts when Dan and his assistant mechanic put on my shocks to my SUV and put on the mounts they damaged one of my mounts I talked to a mechanic that I know the mechanic that I know told me that if you don't put the mounts on correctly you can also damage a person's driving axle guess what these idiots did they damaged my driving axle as well I tried calling Miss Michelle and explaining how her husband and the other mechanic there had damaged my vehicle Michelle started to go on and on saying her husband Dan never entered mounts into his computer hmmm he installed mounts onto my car no s*** lady he didn't because he damaged one of my mounts and damaged my driving axle so he is a coward that damaged my vehicle I thought a man with his standards would have more respect for people and for his customers and to be a man and own up to your own mistakes but don't worry karma is going to come on to you and your husband 10x or times worse you should really know what universal code means and is because it's going to come down on you a lot harder and I hope to God it does so my suggestion is to stay away from this mechanic shop take your vehicle to a mechanic that knows what they're doing that's experience and if it cost more trust me pay it because it'll cost you a lot more they don't know what they're doing and are going to destroy your car or worse get somebody killed you should feel ashamed of yourselves and your business I don't even consider you a business I consider you a bunch of scamming ass little punks I was going to sue your ass but karma will come back to you I promise read more

I was referred to Menard Auto Shop by a neighbor when I needed my 4 Runner checked out. Danielle told me to come in and they would check it out when I got there. As it turned out the battery was causing the problem. They were able to put a new one in while I waited. I asked them to check my vehicle out for any other issues. They found a few issues that needed attention in the not to distant future. I was given a explanation & quote for needed repairs. I brought the vehicle back a couple weeks later to get the work done & it was completed in a reasonable time frame. Everyone has been very helpful and courteous. PLEASE READ I've been going to this shop for years and Ricky was phenomenal. Recently, I went to get a muffler re-welded that my son tried to weld the first time and ended up falling off. Well, the weld job that Dan did fell off as well, but he tried to blame it on my son. He said he would do it again but for a price. I tried but failed to get an explanation on why, and all he said was that my son messed it up the first time, which even if this were true, isn't that the point of getting it professionally repaired? The least that could have happened was to let us know beforehand that the repair job potentially wouldn't hold up, (which they would have known at the time based on this claim) instead of charging for a weld that only lasted 3 months. So that was $175 I paid for a bad weld job. Well, I said no to the next weld job but I had him replace a bad radiator which I was quoted for a price. When I came to pay it went up $140 and once again I asked for an explanation and was told that he had to drain my Freon to get to the radiator, and I asked why I wasn't called to be given the new estimate. Well, since he was frustrated about the weld job he looked at me and said, "Do you want me to drain it?" Wow!! I didn't even say I wasn't going to pay, all I did was ask a question about my service, which he then said he wasn't doing business with me anymore. So I paid (the higher amount) and drove off and my car started overheating and smoking a mile up the road! So I called and told his wife and she explained that we weren't doing business anymore!!What?!?!?! She told me to call 1800 radiator to get it warrantied. She also told me they test drove it. They didn't test drive it!! I had another mechanic come look at it in the parking lot of a subway and was told the radiator hose wasn't secured and popped off once it got to temperature. He also told me that they didn't need to drain the Freon to get to the radiator. This new owner will not take responsibility so please beware! read more

I hate writing bad reviews, but I just didn't have a great experience here. I was referred here for some A/C work about a year, year and a half ago on an older Jeep. A/C system was R-12, an outdated refrigerant but I wanted to stick with it. They gave it a quick charge that stopped working pretty quick (as expected, meaning leaks existed) and then pushed to pull out the whole system, replace all the parts and upgrade it to R-134. I hesitated but asked him to give me a price. He said he had do some research on parts (also as expected, it's an older jeep) but gave me a ballpark quote of $1200-1500. After a couple days I didn't hear back so I called and left a message asking for an update. A few minutes later I got a call back, but was apparently an accidental dial...like he'd typed my number in his phone and hit send to save it but didn't hang up. I proceeded to hear him and someone else swearing about cars and chewing out one of his mechanics yelling like mad. Really left a bad taste in my mouth. Never did get another call back and I never bothered to follow-up. Ended up finding the parts myself, having new hoses made and having it recharged somewhere else for about $600-700. Should have just saved the $50 initial charge and not gone here to begin with. read more
