Support local businesses! We saw bub and pops on an episode of diners drive ins and dives and wanted to check them out. We ordered from the pickup window outside before walking in to grab a table. We got the roast turkey hoagie and chicken cheesesteak. The sandwiches are massive! Roast turkey was good but I really liked the chicken cheesesteak. It came fresh off the grill and the bread is really good too. Everyone was really friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Food was not good. The "Real Obama" sandwich was described as a beef brisket, however, it was more like ground beef or that type of meat you'd find in a philly cheese steak. You can find pictures on their yelp page from other people. They added a ton of vinaigrette to it, which both made the bread soggy, and I'm being serious here - I was eating it next door at the middle eastern place (since Bub's doesn't have indoor seating), and someone across the room there said my vinaigrette was hurting their eyes. Their service was really great though. The kid at the front taking orders was super nice and professional. Hence the 2 stars vs 1. (Adding my receipt, as my initial review of the business was taken down saying: "it didn't look like your content depicted an experience at this location"). Ummm, yes it did!

Omg....in love with this. This is half a sandwich and I struggled to finish it. I don't even want to think about how big a full sandwich is. Had the fried chicken cutlet sandwich, which was warm , juicy and had a lot of fresh veggies on it. This is a must try-if I worked nearby id get this every day. Service was fast. The place is just a walk up window and ordering is easy.

    Half Chicken Parmesan Sandwich ($12)

Honestly I can't believe this place doesn't have a higher rating, which is saying something given that they're around 4.4 stars right now. I ordered a half chicken Parmesan sandwich ($12). Unless you eat like Michael Phelps, half is probably enough! I could barely finish it and I consider myself a pretty big eater. The sandwich is excellent, one of the best I've had. The bread was sturdy, with a little crunch and a lot of flavor. It survived a fifteen-minute walk to the park in excellent condition. Each side was painted with either marinara or pesto. I was surprised by the pesto but it actually worked really well! Enveloped by all these ingredients was a gargantuan pile of breaded and fried chicken. Each piece was tender and quite flavorful. They could have sold the chicken for $25 if they plopped it on a plate with some pasta. But lucky for us, they put it in an even tastier setting and charged less money for it. This sandwich oozed hot and cheesy deliciousness from start to finish. I'll be back for sure, hopefully to try another sandwich, though it's hard to see myself getting away from such a star.

    The Bub's Italian Hoagie Sandwich

Came here on a whim after a work seminar, and was blown away by the flavor of the Italian sandwich. An exceptional take on a classic sandwich, and from a take out window nonetheless! There was a small line and a group of others waiting for their orders, but the service was quick and friendly. The staff at the window answered all my first timer questions and I decided on their most popular sandwich. I really can't recommend this sandwich spot enough! If you ever find yourself in the after you definitely have to give it a try!

This is my favorite sandwich shop without doubt. My all time favorite is the Bulgarian feta, super fresh with very balanced but stunning flavors. However, the last time I visited I just couldn't find it on the menu, and I was in a rush, so I ended up ordering chicken Parmesan. The chicken Parmesan was just as great! (I'm usually not a fan) There is no dine in, but there are some outdoor seats near by. You can also order ahead to pickup and avoid the queue. Portion is HUGE!

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. I had their version of a po boy, and my partner had their meatball parm. Perfect warm sandwiches on a cold day. There's limited seating inside, but the sandwiches were so good we just ate by a table outside and took the rest home :)

We came on a Saturday for lunch. You order at the window and they will call ur number. No seating so you'll have to eat somewhere else. They also have a $5 min for credit card. We waited a little bit for the food, it's a bit pricey but everything was delicious! The chips were $5 and tasted like regular chips so might not be worth it. The subs were amazing, i got the Italian and it was packed with meat. There was fresh Parmesan cheese and it had an oil on the sandwich that was so good. Definitely expect to wait and go on a day with nice weather since you'll prob have to eat outside.

If I could give 100 stars I would!! These are the best hoagies and sandwiches you will have in the DMV. I can understand why they have been around for 11 years. I am sad that this was my first time going, but I will definitely be back and I have been raving about the steak and cheese, the Italian hoagie, the chicken Parm, the Bolognese sub!!!! When I go back, I'm definitely going to try the chicken salad. I love that. They bake their own bread and that they use fresh ingredients that they make themselves even down to the pepper sauce. The individuals who work the order window are also very very nice! Great service

This sandwich shop has been on the "need to try" list for a while. I was in Dupont at the Phillips Collection and decided since I was hungry I would walk over and get a sandwich. Some of the menu items 1230 were already sold out and covered over. I decided on the roast beef with everything except tomatoes. Order number 22. I paid in cash and stood to wait. Before too long a short line forms and sandwiches are coming out one after another. My order comes up and I sit in the small entry area next to the shop where there are a few tables and chairs. First off the sandwich is good size. Fresh bread and paper thin onions on top. The meat is generously sliced and seasoned well, not too much dressing or heat. Everything is fresh and tasty. If you're in the area and could use a fresh good quality (filling) sandwich definitely give them a try.

Roast brisket. Had a lot of pickled cauliflower!!

It's a very unassuming place where you can sit down and have a lunch or dinner or you can get it to go. I decided to get mine to go. I was greeted by friendly cashier. She asked if it was my first time there and I said yes. She explained how the ordering process works and explained a little about each sandwich. I decided to try the RBG, which was $18. I believe all sandwiches are $18. I was a little surprised by the price, but I wanted to try it. The RBG is delicious pork sandwich with coleslaw and a soft, yet crunchy bread. Don't get me wrong. I am not a crunchy bread sandwich type of girly. But this bread was just right for this sandwich. I had the ability to eat the entire sandwich with the bread not becoming too soggy and falling apart. The pork was tender and flavorful, the slaw was crunchy and tart. It was a wonderful combination. The only negative thing that I have to say is that it is a really large sandwich! So, make sure you bring a friend to eat the other half...so you won't be tempted to eat it all like I did!
