The staff was helpful as everyone was taking a little time to acquaint themselves with the variety of choices. Nice interior that is clean and well lighted. Went to Bubbs Christmas week for some bagels before holiday shopping around 9 am. There was a good line and morning crowd. We ordered a Peppermint mocha, oatmilk latte, and a few bagels, including the lox sandwich (my fave). There was a long line of people waiting for their orders, and it looks like some ordered a half or full dozen to go. We got our food and drinks maybe 15 minutes later. The drinks were lighter than we liked, not super flavorful. The bagels were really chewy (maybe overboiled?) although the filing was good. The staff was really nice and got to everyone as quickly as they could with the holiday hustle and bustle so we thought maybe they were rushed and we got a bad batch. So happy to find this bagel place gem! I'd seen a review on Yelp that they had gluten free bagels and I had to give them a try! Reasonable prices and the GF free bagel? Well worth the stop. I got it to go, un-toasted as I had several errands to run before I was able to get home and give it a try. Maybe I just haven't had bagels in a long time as I haven't found any places that have GF.. but it was fantastic.. very generous on the toppings, the GF sesame bagel (the also have regular) was flavorful and the scallion shmear was full of flavor. The bagel would probably be better toasted to make it a little less chewy and will sit down and enjoy it there next time we go. Let me just say, neither of my kiddos usually eat bagels but they sampled mine and said they wanted to order some and dine in next time too with their own toppings. Lots of bagel choices and toppings! I already had my coffee, but my kids won't say no to a drink with whipped cream. No frappacinos, but a good amount of warm and iced coffee drinks. They ordered peppermint mocha and the other had eggnog with decaf and whipped cream. I sampled them both and loved the peppermint mocha! Yum.. the eggnog was good too, but I'm not a huge eggnog fan so could take it or leave it only for that fact. I am very excited my kids liked it too as I LOVE bagels and being GF.. also dairy free and they have oat milk, so it's a win all around. I did ask if they had coconut milk and the answer was "no", but said they could put in a request to get some. Wow! Super nice service, very clean and happy all around! Was really excited to try this place as they have gluten free bagels. Ordered two breakfast sandwiches this morning with cheese, bacon and eggs on both. I had a gluten free one and my boyfriend had the Italian seasoning. Both of the bagels were really thick at the bottom and very dry. I would personally not recommend getting a breakfast sandwich we both just ended up eating the top of the bagel with the egg, cheese and bacon. Store is very clean, staff are friendly and parking is easy. read more

This place is a hidden gem. First off, every single staff member I've ever encountered here have been the most genuinely friendly people I've ever met. It's blows me away every time, where did you find all of these amazing people? Second, their bagels are amazing, always so fresh, it's so cool to watch them make them there behind the counter! First time here, cute and clean spot. I tried their maple bacon bagel and their sourdough bagel. The maple bacon fell a little short for me, it just did not have enough of either- it was more on the outside then a plain bagel on the inside. I took it to-go so planned to toast it when I got home but I did not realize how large they were and it didn't fit in my toaster so just had it plain. The sourdough bagel (not pictured) was really good and just as large as the other. The bagel was $2.25 and $3 if you want butter or $4 with shmear. Great little bagel spot right near me. The employees are fantastic and super kind. There's a bit of a crowd now in the morning which I'm really happy for the owners. I will say that the bagels are rather large and fluffy so you could always request to cut them in half or make them thin. I will say this if you're coming to pick up a bagel make sure you grab one of Chef Debbie's Chia seed puddings. They are divine and quite literally the best part of my day. read more

Omg, I'm a regular here! I love this place because they actually offer vegan breakfast sandwiches (which are DELICIOUS), and a variety of milk options and etc. They also serve (and sell) Cat & Cloud Coffee, which is my favorite coffee out of Santa Cruz. First time here and will definitely come back. I got a breakfast sandwich with included egg, cheddar cheese and bacon on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. They made my sandwich in about 5 minutes which is very quick for me. At first they gave me the wrong bagel but after fixing it they were very apologetic of their mistake. I honestly would have ate it but I wasn't a fan of the type of bagel they gave me. Their egg in the sandwich was seasoned very nicely and gave a lot of flavor to the sandwich. Their bacon was also fresh and crispy. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better sandwich. Next time I want to try one of their drinks but unfortunately this time I was in a rush. read more

I never really loved bagels. But then my spouse persuaded me to try this place one day, mainly because it's right between our house and our kids' preschool. It's a local business owned by a wife and husband. There are loads of vegan options. THREE -- three! -- different flavors of vegan cream cheese. Everything I've had to eat and drink here has been really good, and I have been here several times since then. There's something about the way the soft, chewy, fragrant inside contrasts with the crisp smoothness of the crust. Flavors are excellent and there are many to choose from. Sweet flavors are just the right amount of sweet. That would all be very good, but the best part is how incredibly kind the staff have been each time we come here. They're nice to my kids even when my kids are being terrors. Prices are great too. You really couldn't ask for more. I guess I do love bagels, after all. read more

I'm giving this a 4 star review because it was delicious and the staff was so nice. It was super clean and I really wish I could eat here again. But it does look like their bagels are all sourdough. I got the onion bagel sandwich and because I have TMJ, I immediately knew my jaw was going to be destroyed. I took off the top piece and ate the rest, which might cut down my pain from 3 days to 1. A lot of independent bagel places are opting for the sourdough/chewy bagels, which is a shame. It'd be great if there was one option for people who have TMJ. This was 100% my fault for not inquiring before ordering. I just wanted to make sure that anyone in my situation is aware before ordering. And I hope the owners are able to accommodate! read more

Rave Rave Rave. I have a food allergy (corn) and finding a bagel that doesn't have baking powder (has corn starch) or modified food starch is tough- but this place! Oh my. Not only do they know what's in their bagels AND make them from scratch but the ingredients are super clean. They looked everything up for me. And I am eating a sun dried tomato bagel with basil right now- and am in bagel bliss! Giant bagels- so I split them and broiled them with cheese and prosciutto (highly recommend you do this!) Two bagels filled up the 4 of us for lunch. Even though the bagels are HUGE they are soft. So delicious. These may be the best bagels I've ever eaten. So happy to have found this place. Wow. As much as I come here I should've already written a review. This place is great. Once a week (at least) my husband looks at me and says "BUBBS??" We are both big fans of the Asiago. I LOVE salt bagels. For a variety of reasons, Noah's has stopped selling them. The manager of the Noah's in Milpitas told me they stopped because they weren't healthy! (Like a non-salted bagel is a vegetable or something) Our Noah's in Livermore said they weren't popular. Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter now because Bubb's has a great salt bagel. The bagel is huge, with a little bit of crunch on the outside and dense, soft, and chewy on the inside. I ordered it toasted with a smear and got a very generous portion of cream cheese. Wonderful! My new favorite bagel place! Now if they just don't screw it up... Fingers crossed! read more

I live locally and have become fond of bagels in general. I used to frequent a local bagel chain and not to put them down. They are exactly that, a chain. They used to do bagel with a dress up and smoke salmon, but stopped doing that months ago. so I discovered this place, Bubbs. I went there and the entire staff keeps busy and is definitely customer friendly. Bubb, the owner, he's very welcoming and I think he's there almost every single day from what I've seen. For being that busy, they sure don't have much of a wait time to get your food. Coffee is always fresh and they have tons of bagel varieties and flavors of cream cheese. They also have a great lunch menu. I pretty much go here every single day after dropping the kids off at school. There's plenty of room to sit inside and outside. Place is clean And I've never had an issue there. I highly recommend this place. Love that they offer Gluten Free bagels, but they never make enough. Very dissapointing to walk in and fidn out they didnt make enough. Tried to go there 6 times since they opened only once have they had them. Only reason I hadn't given up sooner is because finding a GF spot is rare. I strongly suggest Bubbs make more in the morning and risk having leftovers. At this point I don't even bother and that's unfortunate.
