Gonna have to drop a star.... From 5 to 4.... Food is great... Especially for limited sultan restaurants. The problem We grabbed a quick bite to eat.... Easy 20.00 ticket. Fish and quesadilla.... To go order. No issues with the 1.50 to go order fee. BUT .... 1.50 charge for CC ??? 7.5% ??? Really? I run a local small business.... We pay AT most 2.5% we are charged for using credit cards.... NO way would anyone or business pay 7.5% or near that to accept CC . Making money on CC charges is not great for the customer. Just my opinion..... I understand that business's have cost associated with conducting business... And restuarants struggle.... But this can't be justified. I am happy to pay a fee.... Just Charge me the actual cost..... Or give me the option to use debit..... Since debit cards are WAY LESS to process.... We pay only 0.75c. Per Debit transaction. read more

I've driven past Bubba's dozens of times on my way to Stevens Pass and finally stopped in. OMG - the best burger I've had in Washington. My favorites used to be Mikies, Nuttys Junkyard, Five Guys, Phinickys or Shake Shack but Bubbas now #1. Been back 4 times now - shroom burger and home wrecker (hold the bbq sauce) are both AWESOME. Hand cut fries and onion rings so good it's hard to pick which to get. I'd like to try some other menu items but can't pass up those burgers! Do yourself a favor and check them out!! read more

Fun dive bar with pub food plus ramen. Laidback service with authenticity and a smile. That said, my burger -- their starred specialty -- was bland even though it bragged to be spicy. If not for the service, this place would have even fewer stars, especially because the burger set me back what the menu said was $14 (per menu handed to me there and in the menu on the website), but the receipt said was $16.76 before tip. I don't know if the menu was wrong or the tax grew to 20% during COVID, but $21 for a flavorless heart attack isn't my preference in life. I had big hopes for this place. Food photos on Yelp looked tempting. However, when I tried to check out Big Bubb's website, it had dead links. I can't tell if it's not maintained or is under construction for an overhaul. However, any business owner that doesn't keep their website up to date is losing business. The place was basically empty when we got there. There was 3 people at another table who were leaving, otherwise it was just us. Service was slow and less than friendly. No one was rude, but the guy showed zero personalty and when you are the only customers, you would really try to be more personable if you expect them to come back. I had the Burger Dip and my Buddy had a bacon cheeseburger. The food legit took at least 25 minutes to come, which again made no sense since we were the only customers. Bother burgers were hot, but the fries were cold and soggy and my Au Jus was room temp. Again, after a long wait, why wasn't everything hot, fresh and crisp? I won't lie, my dip was tasty, after got some hot au jus and my buddy really liked his burger, but we were both unhappy with the fries. This is a classic example of how being sloppy ruins the customer experience. Had everything been cooked hot and fresh, this would have been 4 stars easy, possible 5, but I left feeling like I only enjoyed a fraction of the meal and could have used a whole lot more service. Before was left a couple women, who were what most would consider attractive came in and our server appeared to have way more personality and attention for them. If you are going to give slow sloppy service, at least give it to everyone, otherwise you make your entire establishment look like Hillbillies. There is a burger shack net door and my buddy made clear, if I ever come back to the area, that will be our next burger. read more

We had breakfast this morning. There were 4 of us ordered ...chicken fried steak and eggs, ham and eggs, eggs benny, and bacon and eggs. Everyone was so very happy with their meal. Large portions. Everything was cooked as ordered. Ham is ham steaks and bacon thick and cooked to perfection. What made it more fun was our waiter. He was so peppy and accommodating! His name was Rick . One of our guests asked if he could order a flashlight we all laughed as he has declining eye sight. Our waiter brought him a flashlight! We were so impressed. Coffee was excellent. I came here with a group from my barn after riding on a Friday. They had talked about Bubba's being a great spot to get together for drinks and excellent food. When we arrived, the server dropped off menus and took drink orders. That was the last we saw of her... she was still around the restaurant but never once came back to check on us. Someone else brought out our food, and they could not be in any more of a hurry to get our food on the table and then get out. I usually don't ding restaurants for poor service, but it was especially awful. Other tables were looking around trying to pay, order, get their drink orders taken... one guy actually bussed a table himself so he could sit at one that had been abandoned. I didn't find the food particularly great either. I shared the steak, pulled pork chili, and fried shrimp appetizer. The chili wasn't too bad, but the other two were very flavorless. The server described the steak as tender, and I ordered it rare. It was super tough, chewy, fatty, and overall, just not a good piece of meat. The fried shrimp appetizer was very bland, could have (probably was) been taken out of the freezer. Paying wasn't very easy either. You have to go to the bar to pay, or at least, that's what I did since the only service we got was drinks and meal ordering and then food dropping off. The bare minimum. Nice hole in the wall restaurant after a day of hiking and cliff diving out East. I was a little worried by the below average ratings but can safely say the food and service are good here. My friends and I were all Asian and we were a little taken aback when they started mentioning how they don't see a lot of Asians here and I was expecting to experience some backhanded racism or discrimination. However they were respectful about it and courteous our entire meal. I ordered a plate of BBQ while my friends ordered their burgers. We all tried each others food and for the most part all of them tasted great. It was typical dive bar food and everything was cooked juicy and tender. We all left full and satisfied. read more

My home wrecker burger was phenomenal, my husband said his bacon burger was good as well. -1 because our tots were nice & crispy, but under seasoned. We stopped here on the way back from Leavenworth. Never heard of it but decided to give it a try. The steak was awesome!! The pork shanks were meaty but I wasn't enamored of the sauce/gravy. The workers had the food done in about 15 minutes, although it sounds like a long time... we were 6 so I thought it was pretty fast. Stopped by after hiking up to Wallace Falls. The service was pretty slow, but our waitress was polite which made up for the lag. We ordered a Homewrecker Burger with some requested modifications. Instead of the BBQ sauce we wanted their "secret sauce" and instead of Swiss cheese, we requested American cheese. When the burger came out it had neither BBQ sauce or Secret Sauce. It also came out with Swiss cheese and not American as we requested. The waitress double checked she had it right with us before she took the order back too, so I suspect it was someone in the kitchen who fumbled with the order. On top of getting our order wrong, the chefs terribly over cooked the patty. It was bone dry. We didn't request them to fix the order as we were already really hungry from the hike. Discover is an excepted form of payment. Minors can dine here until 9pm (we had two in our party). There are several WA brews on draft to choose from as well as one hard cider. My wife ordered a Mac & Jack and I ordered a Men's Room for $4 each. Since I was half starving to death I ordered the Tuna Melt for $7.50 with onion rings instead of fries for an additional $1.50: white albacore tuna salad and american cheese on wheat bread all grilled until nice and melty and warm. The tuna salad was quite moist and tasty with bits of dill pickle in it. The rings were deep fried to perfection. The portion was huge. I was so hungry and the sandwich so good that I ate every single bite (I never ever do that). My wife ordered a deep-fried cod wrap for $10.50 and chose hand cut fries as her side. Side options are: macaroni salad, potato salad or fries. Her wrap was very large and we came home with half of it. If you're driving by on hwy 2, stop on in, the owner Duane would love your money. You might regret your decision, but us locals won't! Don't worry, those icy glares wont feel as bad once they're on your back. Food is mediocre. In it's takeout form, it's lacking entirely. The food you get at Bubbas requires - supervision. Orders are constantly wrong, the quality of food is intermittent, and there seems to be a general lack of giving a shit. It usually tastes alright, so long as you go in expecting the type of meal where you cut away half the meat in fat. This is part of the charm of having a drink at Bubbas. It's a dive bar. If you were focused on getting a good meal, you'd be elsewhere. The reasons to go to Bubbas don't fit in their to-go stryfoam trays. You can't put atmosphere in there - or friendly service from your friends that you actually care enough to subject yourself to the process for. You COULD put foil in there, so the meats aren't a mass of congealed, cold fat - but this goes back to the giving a shit aspect. That doesn't seem to be on the menu. So, spend your money here if you want to support an old relic of the community. And an older restaurant. Skip it if you want anything other than that, or simply to pay for a small 'townie' experience. read more
