First off the pictures don't do this place justice! We don't usually eat hot dogs and fries unless we're at a ballpark but wanted to share something before dinner at 6:30. They have USE NATHANS FAMOUS HOTDOGS and it was delicious. We got the original with red relish and it was very tasty and super inexpensive. The staff was so nice and sweet. BubbaLu's was a great solid lunch spot. We got there pretty late, but the workers and process was pretty quick and thorough. Looks like they condensed the menu due to COVID. We got a chili dog, cheeseburger, and a soda. I got a side of sauerkraut. The layout is great, you get to see your food cooked in front of you. Chili dog, 3.5/5. Good chili, decent sauerkraut. I'm glad we stopped at this one of a kind place! Something gluten free for me! I was trying to locate a Mexican restaurant but we were short on time. You order at the counter and receive a number. You can also sit at the counter or there are tables and booths. I ordered a Nathan's all beef hot dog "classy" style which came my favorite way with Kraut, fresh onions, Dijon mustard and some type of relish. Boy did that hit the spot! I asked anything else was fried in the fry oil and the had a dedicated fryer! Bingo! Best fries ever! Just cut up potatoes, no seasonings or gross batter, just jimmy sticks of fried potatoes! They asked if I had a gluten allergy which was very thoughtful . So I believe they changed gloves. They also have burgers and grilled chicken burgers. Overall great experience at this restaurant. We were seated quickly, ordering was quick, and got our food quickly. Cheeseburger (5/5) - this is a great, classic cheeseburger. The flavor was delicious, the meat was not from a frozen patty, and the veggies were fresh. I highly recommend asking for the red relish that comes with the hot dog and topping the burger with it Chicken salad melt (5/5) - the bread was deliciously toasted. The chicken salad was also tasty and had a variety of flavors to it - nuts, celery, etc. Hot dog (5/5) - large portion. The red relish that comes with it is fantastic. French fries (5/5) - they weren't greasy at all. Tasted great. Onion rings (1/5) - you could see the grease sitting on top. It overpowered the onion rings. I got a veggie burger ($7) that was great (not a ton of veggie options that I've found in Hot Spring so far-only day 2). My mom also got a regular burger ($6) that she enjoyed. Have been here before and recalled that it was good. Decided to give it another go & had a late lunch yesterday and MAN, it was great! The guys were super friendly and accommodating. We popped in right before close and they didn't shy away from making us feel very welcome. Brother got the Chili Burger & Onion Rings...he said it was great. I stole a ring and it was very tasty! I got the Chicken Salad Melt & fries. They were both very fresh and soooo tasty. Portions are huge and the prices are great for the size & quality. Will be back the next time we are in town. The epitome of what a cheeseburger and fries should be. No pretentious BS. No Gouda, no Pâté, no sautéed this, and that. Just a tasty, juicy beef patty, lettuce, pickle, tomato, cheese, and mustard. The fries were cooked to a perfect crispness, and on par with MD's fries...quite possibly the best frozen food product in the world. I drank a Rockhound IPA from the Lost Fourty Brewery. Fantastic clear, crisp, citrus note. Not too hoppy. Great choice in a local brew. I look forward to a return trip tomorrow. read more

We were riding our bikes downtown and saw this place advertising hot dogs. It was about 4:30 and we thought we would maybe split a hot dog before riding back to the campgrounds. We walked in and there were four women sitting at the counter with amazing looking food, including onion rings that looked beyond belief. We were already hooked. We decided on an early dinner instead. I ordered a cheeseburger and my husband ordered a chili cheeseburger and of course onion rings. Everything was made right there in front of us and smelled fantastic. We got our food, they did forget to put the cheese on my husband's chili burger but quickly added some and then added some extra chili to help melt the cheese. Everything was very good. I sincerely hope that business picks up for this downtown district of Hot springs, businesses like this need to stick around. Service was great because when there is a vested interest in a business you get that kind of service. read more

Gosh, is there anything better than a simple griddle-made burger? My husband and I hiked around for about four miles amongst the east side mountain trails and came down from the Grand Promenade ravenous. BubbaLu's seemed like the most delicious way to satisfy our hunger! The seats are all set 6ft apart and we felt very safe. The staff is very friendly and eager to make sure your food is delicious. I ordered the 1/3 pound hamburger and the burger patty was perfectly seasoned! The fries are a huge portion and easily fed both my husband and me. They also had hot dogs and a variety of sweet treats! I would definitely be a regular here for the great service and delicious food. read more

To be honest, I was intrigued by the name of this place -- BubbaLu's Bodacious Burgers and Classy Dogs. Turns out they do serve a great burger - one that I might even call a bodacious burger. According to the gentleman who appeared to the owner or manager, all of their burgers are made by hand every morning. It was a 1/3 # burger with all the fixings. And the shoe-string fries were piping hot and fried to perfection. At the manager's suggestion, my wife tried the chicken salad panini sandwich and was very pleased with her selection. The manager also served her a complimentary scope of Blue Bell ice cream. The young gal working the counter was a little lacking in the personality department but the manager/owner more than made up for her lack of personality. He was extremely nice and very customer oriented. When he found out that we were on our way to Albuquerque, he told us he was from there and made some suggestions of things to see. This is an "order at the counter and they bring the food to your table" place and is right on the main drag - across from Bathhouse Row. read more

Good place to eat, but please don't rush the patrons. A friend & I walked in and went directly the the big menu on the left wall. Just the 2 of us. Within 10 seconds, the cashier asked us to please move toward the register to allow others room to also access the menu on the wall. Uh, there were no "others"behind us at all. Not one person was in line behind or in front of us. That seemed a little strange to ask somebody to move when it was not even close to being necessary. It bordered on being rude. If you order water, they will charge a $1.00 for the plastic cup. It would be nice if we were informed of that when ordering. I would have passed on the water. The menu did not indicate the price of a cup for water. Or charge 25 cents...but $1.00. Dang. Again, yes the food is good and reasonably priced. This is a great little burger bar and shake shop. They had the friendliest service and the food was really good! The burgers were juicy and had a really good flavor. The chili cheese fries were really good too. I love that you can converse with the chef as he cooks if you sit at the counter.
