My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday night. It wasn't very busy so we were seated promptly. Unfortunately, the booth we were seated at was dirty and the menus were greasy to the touch. There are a lot of good options here if you're craving American comfort food: pizza, burgers, wings, and a few fancier dishes like ribeye and salmon. I ordered the sunshine burger and the boyfriend got 20 boneless wings: 10 hot and 10 garlic parm. The burger was on the saltier/greasier side. I got my burger with a side of loaded up fries, which basically entailed some hardened cheese and bacon bits. I picked up one fry and up came all of the cheese. Definitely a sad day since cheese fries I didn't really care for the garlic parm wings even though the boyfriend said that they "weren't bad for a place that doesn't exclusively sell wings" (think Wingstop and Buffalo Wild Wings). Whether you're wanting to dine in as a family in the large seating section or hit up the bar area, I would recommend Bubba's to anyone. We've been as a family on multiple occasions, and my wife and I have gone without the kids and sat at the bar. All experiences has been top notch. The staff has always been extremely pleasant and timely. The food is always well prepared and served promptly; the appetizers are especially great. The draft beer options are on point. Be sure to try a Dallas Blonde. The cocktails are excellent as well; try their White Russian. There are many televisions playing many different things. Music videos of all genres and all eras play non-stop while you hear the audio. Go try it. I couldn't be happier with this place. First time eating at Bubba's 33. It's a cool place with wall to wall giant TVs. I ordered a Colaweizen and the layered cheese fries for an appetizer and once again it was huge!!! It was great but I ate half and put it aside. I ordered the Sunshine burger for my meal with fresh grilled jalapeños. The burger was great but the jalapeños were nuclear HOT!!! We are down from Minnesota, stopped in to watch the playoff game. You will love this place, the food is great and the people are better. I recommend the onion rings as your appetizer. Loyd, a regular, who admitted to eating here almost every day for the past 5 years says everything is good but the fried chicken is the best. I'm going with recommendation. Fun place! Hubs and I stopped in for drinks while traveling. We sat at the bar. The bar tenders were fun and sociable. They chatted about fun local places to visit and made me the most amazing LIIT! I'd never had one and I was told they'd make me something different if I didn't like it! I loved it! Their beer is served at 33 degrees. We didn't eat because we ate at our hotel but the food looked amazing! I think there are probably 50 tv screens in the whole place! We were very entertained by the Chivetv playing on a nearby screen. I'm more than a little concerned about the quality of Yelping going on in Waco. And I mean that sincerely because I rely on Yelp to tell me where to eat when I'm travelling and Yelp gave me a HUGE bum steer on this one. I can understand giving high star ratings to Bubba's 33 for the venue, itself: The spacious interior, convenient location for both locals and travelers, the bean bag games on the patio, the separate bar, and even the friendly service. Or if you're into 1000 TVs blasting you with images, all tuned to different channels launching a visual assault from all directions the entire time. I get that. But if I were to name right now what the worst Shrimp Poboy is I've ever tasted in my life, it'd be the one they served me; The sticky sweet sauce, mushy breading on the shrimp, clunky composition making it difficult to bite, and a lack of a green leaf or slaw for freshness was really disappointing and honestly, just plain gross. The worst salad garnish I've ever had? The potato thingies they use as a topping. Your brain and palate see them and want them to be onion strings. But they're not. They're an oddly fried potato crisp, that's also not a chip, and doesn't have the proper flavor to be in a salad. The worst flavored steak-rub I've ever tasted? The overly pronounced and slightly sweet espresso rub they put on my husband's Ribeye. Maybe if I had ordered a burger I would have been happy. But if something is on your menu, and you put your name to it, you should stand by it and prepare to have it critiqued. And, besides the beer and the Chicken Nacho appetizer (decent), everything else that hit our table was either plain bad, or subpar. Keep this joint away from Dallas. And I'd hate to see the foodie elite review-slaughter that would happen if it were to venture into Austin. I have to give a caveat that I don't care for sports bars, they are too loud and distracting for me. That said, I think people who like sports bars would like Bubba's. It has a nice Texas ambience in the décor. There are dozens of big screens and good music. The service is good and the drinks OK. Servings are large. The food is OK. Not amazing, although the regular fries are really good, but serviceable food overall. if you like sports bars you would probably like Bubba's a lot. There are over 15 TVs showing sports, ads, and the news. The staff members are very friendly and hospitable, willing to joke and make conversation. We stopped here for a late lunch, while traveling south back home. We got the fried pickles, and queso as appetizers and they did not disappoint! The fried pickles are a little spicy which we loved! They also put some kind of seasoning on their chips, which was different but good. My 8 year old got a cheeseburger and husband just got wings. I had the grilled chicken salad and it was delicious! The lettuce was fresh and served cold! If you are passing by, definitely recommend this place! The staff were all very friendly and we had great service! Awesome place. My wife and I go down to Waco to visit family every couple months and love going to Bubba's as we unfortunately don't have one in Dallas yet. George's may be synonymous with Waco and their crazy wings are delicious but pound for pound Bubba's is a better restaurant. They have some good apps including delicious wings. Nothing fancy about the wings but they come out perfect every time. Menu also has salads, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and other typical sports bar food but it's all very well made. I typically go for their burgers and have never been disappointed. And of course I'd be negligent not to mention they have TVs everywhere so it's easy to get your game on. read more

I've been here twice and the first time was a 4 and the 2nd time was a 3 but I went with 4 stars because the staff is really nice, attentive, and they have decently priced food and drinks. Well, the atmosphere is great for a sports bar. I think if you're going to have a sports bar, you need an HD TV in every possible location. This place gets a big check on that! As far as the food goes, the burgers look awesome. The even taste pretty good. One small problem - they disintegrate at the first point of contact. I have no problem game planning for a burger. But there is no game planning this dude. This is like trying to perform a circumcision while you're on roller skates. Just not possible (nor pretty). It simply falls apart at the first bite. WOW...Hub can't say nuff about the avocado bacon cheeseburger!!!!....the different flavors just burst in each bite. I had the Philly cheese steak minus peppers & mushrooms. OMG...bread was so good, chipped rib eye steak, 2 types of cheese, & the onion was small pieces so you didn't notice long strings. Fries were crisp & hot. Did I forget to mention the wait attention?? They made sure we didn't need anything. When I asked for a box for half of my sandwich, we were asked if we needed drinks to go, too. Could we pack this up (restaurant) & take it home with us?? My wife and I ate here yesterday and I had the double burger and she had the lasagna and garlic knots. We also had a half-order of onion rings for an appetizer. The onion rings were really good, but our meals were not. My burger was a little over-done. So much so that it was a little crunchy. The happy hour is definitely the draw for me here. $4.00 Trash can punch! It's so good it almost tastes non alcoholic but trust me, after about 2 you'll know for sure that there's a ton in there. The service is always good, the servers definitely know what they're doing. The All-American Margarita is also one of the best margaritas I've had. The fried pickles are really good, the sauce that comes with it is interesting and pairs well with them. I ordered the Bubbas double burger it was great. The burger was very juicy cooked exactly right. The burger was well worth the money. My wife had the guacamole burger she said it was also great. The atmospheres is a little loud but fun. The only thing bad was the service . The staff was to busy chatting with each other to work there tables . they were all gathered around the register chatting had to ask for tea refills twice when the bill came we had to sit 10 min before our waitress showed back up.
