Bubbe's is a super cute bagel shop in the Wilmot Trader Joe's plaza. I went around 11 am on a Wednesday and was surprised at how long it took to get a toasted bagel with schmear. Between waiting to order, waiting to pay, and then waiting for my order to be complete I was there for almost half and hour. I wonder if the wait time is longer on a busier time of day. Despite the wait time, everything else about Bubbe's is splendid! They have many bagel and schmear options, and bagel sandwiches. I got the jalapeño cheese bagel with plain cream cheese. Tried this place for a quick breakfast. The shop was clean, bright and efficient. We ordered the Garlic bagel with onion and chive smear and the cinnamon/ raisin bagel with honey lavender smear. The garlic bagel was very good. However I was not a fan of the cinnamon/ raisin bagel with honey lavender smear. The bagel was cold and did not have much of a cinnamon taste- it was sort of plain. It took about 10 minutes to get our bagels. If you are in big rush, I recommend ordering online and picking up! read more

Terrific bagels. I would strongly recommend getting your bagel toasted first if you're going to enjoy right away. The crispy outside compliments the chewy warm inside ideally. I got an everything bagel ($1.50) and asked if I could try two different "schmears" on the same bagel ($2). To my delight they said Yes (no difference in cost)! I opted for one side with their honey-lavender and the other with the salmon infused cream cheese (pic attached). She opted for a plain cinnamon raisin bagel ($1.50). Both were dense and delish, although by the end we each joked about how tired our jaws were. The honey was not too sweet and the salmon not too fishy... i.e., just right. The only sit down area is outside, at the communal patio area in the courtyard next to TJs which sported a half dozen metal tables/chairs, some with umbrellas. Yep, I agree with all the positive reviews. I, too, was born and raised in New York City. Had a bagel shop around the corner. I do not take good bagels for granted. I got a to-go order yesterday and enjoyed my first bagel immensely! It has that nice shiny crust on the outside, and is soft on the inside - with a little bit of chew but not TOO chewy. I will say it's a little more dense than I would typically find in a NY bagel, but that is not a bad thing. It seems to work well. Great flavor, great texture. I was just in a bit of a rush because I was on my way to work but when I return, I'm gonna get at least one of their spreads, they look great! Also, they have whitefish salad. That is a very big deal to me!! Whitefish salad on a bagel is one of my favorite combinations and really takes me back to NY! Staff was nice, parking was easy (it was easy to find and is right next door to Pizza Luna), prices are reasonable and bagels are great. What more do you want? read more

Have passed this bagel joint a dozen times, and finally stopped in to grab a bite. When you first walk in, you're greeted with a counter with Barbara Streisand's photo on it! Definitely a first for me. And then you see the wide variety of bagel options. Up above the register, you'll see the "schmear" options for the bagels. I only saw butter and cream cheese, so I ordered that. It wasn't until I was checking out that I saw the sandwiches. With the atmosphere and name, I was expecting a NY style bagel. It wasn't quite up to my expectations, but it wasn't bad. I ordered the everything bagel with garden cream cheese, the cinnamon bagel- plain, and my little one got the cinnamon raisin with butter. All were good. My biggest disappointment was the service. The woman who took my order was sweet, but the girl who rang me up- not as fabulous. Actually, quite rude. I was excited for Bubbe's to open up because chain establishments dominate Tucson's bagel scene. When I arrived, there were a sizable number of people buying bagels. I appreciated Bubbe's online menu so I could ponder my bagel selection as I waited in line. The staff was friendly and efficient, and I was in and out by 10-15 minutes. I tried the Everything and onion bagels with a side of egg salad. The bagels tasted fresh and had a nice bite with a crusty exterior. For the quality of the bagels, the price was very reasonable. The bagels were delicious, but I had to deduct a star because the egg salad was a bit bland. Nevertheless, I am hopeful that Bubbe's other bagel sandwiches will be better. I am looking forward to trying out more of Bubbe's offerings! read more

Such a cute bagel shop! My partner and I stopped by on our way into Saguaro NP and I'm so glad we did. We got the Calabrian spread on Sesame bagel (as recommended by the staff), Egg and cheese on jalapeño cheese bagel, and a Reuben on everything bagel. Our favorites were the Reuben and Calabrian on Sesame!! The Calabrian spread is so unique, probably the best spicy cream cheese I've ever had. We were out and about and my daughter wanted to grab a bagel. I was excited because I've heard such amazing things about this place. We got there about an hour before they closed and I was surprised that they still had a decent selection of bagels. It's a small shop but nice and clean and quick. The person taking our order did not seem interested in taking the order at all. They did answer a few questions about their vegan options for us so that was nice. My daughter ordered a bagel with plain cream cheese and added smoked salmon. I got the garlic bagel and the vegan cream cheese, and my wife got the onion bagel with the vegan cream cheese. We got the order to go and when we got home we realized my daughter's bagel had smoked salmon spread and not the actual smoked salmon. I'm sure it was a simple mistake but shows how little attention they paid when we ordered. I quickly learned that I am not a fan of the vegan cream cheese myself but that's not Bubbes fault, I've never had it before. My wife however really enjoyed it. I did however think the bagel was really good once I scraped the cream cheese off. I'm sure I'll try this place again because I've heard so many good things about them but I'll make sure to go to the other location. read more

I went back in and asked politely to have a heated up one and the girl rolled her eyes and didn't even say anything. Got my new bagel and it was cold asf again. And the jalapeño cheddar bagel is not jalapeño it's chilies. At this point I was so frustrated. I took my first bite and IT WAS SWEET??? The bagel was sweet??? I was so thrown off. I got a salt bagel and cinnamon raisin, not cut with vegan cream cheese on the side. The salt bagel was good, not too much salt with a hint of fermentation. The star for me was the cinnamon raisin bagel. Loads of fresh raisins and cinnamon. Definitely will be back for more! Bonus for being locally owned and operated! Absolutely, the best bagels in Tucson! Perfectly crafted! I ordered the cinnamon raisin with the honey lavender shmear. That honey lavender is slightly sweet and the flavor of the lavender comes through beautifully. They put a generous amount of cream cheese in your bagel. I sat outside by the fountain, which made it more delightful. There are a few seats inside, but no tables. I will be back to try a sandwich. read more

So excited to have a bagel place on this side of town. We went right at 7 on day 2 so they didn't have many bagel options but they had all the schmears. I had plain with lavender honey and my fiancé has the manchego jalapeño with chive and green onion. Both schmears were so good, they tasted so fresh. I've never had lavender and honey schmear before but it was delicious with light floral undertones. They also do not skimp on the schmear. The bagel had the perfect amount of crunch on the outside. Stopped by to try the new bagel shop. Very convenient by Trader Joe's and Starbucks. I got a 1/2 dozen, 4 everything, 2 garlic and a salt and picked up the pinion chive cream cheese. They had an interesting cream cheese flavor, honey and lavender. I tried it with the different bagels and it was good, a little sweet with a lavender scent. The bagels were soft on the inside and had a crunch on the outside. Nice and chewy. I wish they offered to slice and toast the bagels to go. Cute store and friendly staff. read more

These are the best bagels in Tucson for my taste buds-I look forward to them every weekend. (They open at 7 am everyday except Monday.) The flavors of all the bagels are intense with quality ingredients. Even the sesame seeds and poppyseeds seem crunchier. The garlic bagels and onion bagels also have a crispness about them that packs a punch of flavor. Speaking of which, the onion and chive schmear (cream cheese) is a mouth full of yummy creaminess that pairs perfectly with anything from the plain to sea salt bagel. Every time I go here I order something new and am blown away each time. This morning I tried their lox bagel sandwich. Pure bliss. (Oh-don't forget the cinnamon raisin for a yummy, sweeter option as well.)
