I've been going to Bubblecuts for 5 years for my two sons. At the beginning they had great stylist and slowly over the years all of them have left. I decided to try a new stylist today named Rita and although she's very nice and patient with children she could not cut my son's hair. At the end she left some strands of long hair and needed the ends cleaned up but she was obviously not experienced enough to use the machine. read more

I highly recommend Bubble Cuts!!! Today was the second time I brought my son to get a haircut, but this experience today was by far the best. We didn't have an appointment, but luckily we got squeezed in quickly. All the woman there were really nice and helpful. The woman who cut my sons hair was so sweet and kind to my son! He was freaking out and didn't want to get a haircut, and she refused to start until he was calm. She helped make him feel comfortable and she got him to sit calm and he ended up enjoying it! He asked to come back again! Which is amazing because he hates cutting his hair! She is amazing with kids, and she was so sweet to him. I really liked her. Took my kids there for the first time today and we all loved it. Rita did a fantastic job on my older daughters hair, and the girl with the short red hair also did a fantastic job on my younger daughter. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I must mention that their first cut package is much cuter than the one you get at The Yellow Balloon in studio city. Also we stayed for half an hour after they had finish my kids cuts and played in the play area and the staff was totally cool with it. I didn't feel rushed to get out, which was nice. read more

Really enjoyed taking my son to Bubble Cuts. Even though he was a bit antsy to have his hair even touched, the hairdresser remained patient and did her best to line up his hair during all that movement. His final cut is super cute and she stayed true to the length I requested. Appreciate the little details like offering a lollipop and balloon on the way out. We took our daughter to Bubble Cuts for her first haircut. We wanted the experience to be special for her, and thanks to Rita and Venita, it was just that. The extremely hip & kid- friendly environment, coupled with the smiling faces that helped us, made our visit all the more fun. Our daughter was hesitant to get her hair cut. After seeing the pink cadi, "lights" around the mirror and the "Bubblewood" sign, her eyes lit up. Once in her new wheels, she was able to choose a show to watch as Rita went to work. Rita was very accommodating to our wish of keeping a pony tail of our daughter's baby curls while Venita was ready with camera in hand to capture the first shot of our daughter's new look. As we waited for the certificate and photo to be finished up, our daughter played in the play area as my husband and I watched Rita save the day of another stylist who need some help distracting her very young client. It was heartwarming to see, and the little guy giggled his way through his experience too. My husband and I were absolutely satisfied with the service! I called to make an appointment for my sons first haircut. I attempted to cut his bangs since it was bothering him but totally failed so I found this place and scheduled an appointment. Upon arrival we were informed that the power went out so unfortunately we did not get the "first haircut" package but we did get our sons hair in a little bag. Rita (I believe was her name) cut my sons hair she was extremely patient and gentle with my little guy. Rita was super nice and friendly she did a wonderful job cutting my sons hair even though he was clinging on to my shirt she managed to make it work! I will definitely be coming back! read more

Definitely don't recommend this place. I forgot the name of the woman who cut my son's first haircut but it looks terrible. I understand that it's difficult because my son was crying and scared, but isn't that why we paid $25 for a simple haircut?? I thought they'd be patient and no one else was waiting for a haircut after us?? It took her about 5 minutes to do and his hair is completely uneven. He looks like he's wearing a toupee. She didn't even style it or blend it to flow. I'm sorry but what a waste. I need to go get his hair fixed somewhere else asap. Very disappointed! We've been coming here many many times even to the location in Montrose and never had any problems. We went yesterday after so long because of Covid shut downs and not happy. Owner did a fantastic job in making us feel comfortable mentioning sanitation protocol and saying the hair dresser will wash up after and clean station and tools etc. Which is the main reason we always go to Bubble Cuts because of their cleanliness. There was only one lady and she was already working on a child and once she was done immediately jumped right to us. Although i should have spoke out, i just became embarrassed and didn't want to seem "so extra" so i stayed quiet and didn't mention anything the owner promised. She did not wash her hands after touching the child and things around her. Tools were not cleaned and i was just extremely disappointed. She worked fast on my child but with the eeek feeling as she touched my child's face everywhere. Once she finished we paid and another family came in and SAME thing. Just jumped right over without washing hands, tools or anything! I won't be coming back, we take coronavirus very serious and it was such a slap in the face for thinking it was time to head out for a haircut and thinking businesses are following CDC guidelines. read more

I've gone here once for my nephew. I was really impressed by the way they cut his hair. I decided to have his mom come the second time but a lady messed up his hair and his hair was really uneven. Today the third time, I tried coming in when two Armenian ladies couldn't even try and cut his hair because they "don't know how" and could barely speak English. Now my question is, you work at a children's barber/salon and all we wanted was a simple haircut but you don't know how?! Why do you even work here if you don't know how to cut hair? There's so many customers who have many children and want to get their child a haircut and make them look nice but how can you do that if you can't simply cut hair just by looking at a picture or even the words, "comb over." My son's first haircut was a disaster obviously because it was his first time. I loved the place because it was very kid friendly. They have a beautiful and inviting place for kids. The chairs are little automobiles. They also have a TV in the chair area as well as toys. They have a great package deal for their first hair cut. The only thing I didn't like is after mentioning to the lady that the picture she took of my son was blurry she opposed and when she gave it to me of course it was blurry. It's a Saturday morning and we had called in advance to schedule our 11:30am appointments. We walk in for the first time and no one acknowledges us so we make our way to what seems to be the waiting area/small play area and try to get the attention of the women at the reception desk to let them know we are here. With lack of interest they tell me "okay." After a bit of a wait a woman who did not introduce herself says she's ready for "whichever" of my children. I let my daughter go first because she's 6 and is excited for the experience. This woman does not have the personality to be working with children and I was not about to let my 13 month old have his first cut with her. Anyway I tell her I want about 2-3 inches removed. I am trusting that this woman is a licensed cosmetologist who knows what she is doing so I walk away to get my son started on his cut too which was with Christine who was great and is the only reason I gave them two stars. I look over to witness this woman cut right into my daughters hair without even sectioning it or combing it, just as it was, she cuts straight across it. She was done in less than five minutes if that. I let her know it was crooked and she just stared at me, in fear of her making it worse I said okay we're done here. At check out I expressed my concerns to the manager Carlos. I asked if that was the protocol on their services. I mean if I wanted that look on my daughter I could have cut it myself at home and saved myself $20 plus the 20% tip. He apologized, was very nice and said he would be in touch. Two days later I got a voicemail from Natalia who said my daughter received "a cut that was not the way I liked." It was done beyond poorly by Scarlet and I am so sad because we were hoping this could be a great salon for our kids to come in regularly. We are very hesitant to take them up on their offer for a future complimentary service for my daughter. You should truly consider training on customer service and artistry for your stylists. read more

Made an appointment in the morning for a haircut in the evening then they say we're not on the appointment list. Sad part is I've gone here multiple times and if this is how they treat returning customers then I won't be back. There's plenty of other places I can go but I gave them a chance and they blew it. Before we went to Bubble Cuts for the first time on Monday, my beautiful toddler was starting to look like the Lorax. She refused to comb her hair and it had gotten to be a jungle of Truffula trees. Both grandmothers tried resorting to their own remedies. My mother-in-law once brought her to her friend a barber only to make her look like a boy. Then my mom tried to cut her hair and made her bangs look very institutional. I tried all the detangling products for kids I could find. Finally, I could stand it no longer as the grandmothers were grumbling again and I wondered what new catastrophic plans they had for my child's hair. I took her and my fussy baby to Bubble Cuts without even making an appointment. I was so warmly greeted. My daughter watched dinosaur train and sat in the beautiful pink car while Violet, who is such a gentle person, worked magic on her hair while I nursed my baby. The owner, Cathy, was so sweet and shared with me the history of this beautiful salon, which she co-owns with her brother. I met him and he was so warm as well. It is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it. Ironically this was literally right before we found out about the tragic bombing in Boston.. Cathy had been connecting with me how meaningful her family especially her siblings and children were, and the store design reflects a piece of childhood when her brother told us the sad news. I was out for most of the rest of the day with my kids. Later that night after watching the sad news at home, the magnitude of the tragedy hit me more, too. I was so thankful that I had gotten to do an mundane thing like getting my child's hair cut and watching her joyfully play with the toys and wear the stick on earrings we bought from the salon. She was playing with the balloon Cathy gave her and asking me if we could go to Bubble Cuts again. I hugged her tighter. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. My sister took my nephew as a walk in and she was turned down. She was told that they serve (children) hence the word, per appointments only. I took my daughter to Bubble Cuts b/c of the good reviews. I am so unhappy with the end result. My 16 month old daughter now looks like a boy. I asked the stylist to trim her hair around her face so it wouldn't hit her eyes. She cut it about 1 inch above her eyebrow. It looks as it my daughter cut her own hair. I regret taking her here. Maybe this place does a better job at cutting boy hair. Cute place & friendly staff, that's why they get one star. read more

Never coming back here again. Horrible customer service. We arrived early to our 10:30 appointment since it was raining and we expected more traffic. We were told to wait while the 3 stylist sat and chatted and completely ignored us. At this point no clients were in the salon. It was now 10:15 and 2 clients had just walked in late to their 10am appointment and were taken in. It was very upsetting because they could of finished my sons hair cut instead of having us wait. When we were finally taken in every child in there seats were offered to watch a movie on there monitors while mine was told to stay still and not move. How do expect a toddler not to move? I finally had to give my son my phone and play a movie. I'm a long time customer and I've been coming here since my oldest now 10 was a toddler himself. I don't know what has happened over the year but there customer service has really changed for the worst. I've referred a lot of my patients and family members here. Never again. read more

My 4 1/2 year old son got the worst haircut here this morning. Cherish, apparently the manager here, completely ignored my requests and gave him an uneven, unflattering cut. It's also way, way too short. She kept answering phone calls while she cut his hair - telling me the receptionist was on vacation - but it clearly distracted her to hold the phone with one hand while wielding scissors with the other.
