You get all the comfort of a home routine, without the mess, plus access to the right tools to do it properly. All you need to bring is your dog and any special shampoo or treatment. They take care of everything else. I love having this option. Plus, since the dog is more comfortable than at home, and with their human, the experience promotes awesome bonding. The staff is kind, willing and of course, dog lovers!

I am extremely unhappy with the grooming experience my dog Louie had at Bowie Barker. After his…read moreappointment, BOTH of his ears became severely infected, leaving him in obvious pain and discomfort. He has been walking around with his head tilted to the side, crying, and even snapping when anyone tries to touch near his ears because of how painful they are. Watching him suffer like this has been awful. I had to rush him to the vet at 9am and spend an additional $400 for treatment, medication, and care due to the severity of the infections. What makes this even more upsetting is learning that your groomers are trained to bathe dogs without using cotton balls in their ears. That seems incredibly counterproductive and unsafe, especially considering how easily water can get trapped and lead to ear infections. Louie has never experienced anything like this before, and it is heartbreaking seeing him in so much pain over something that should have been a routine grooming appointment. I also have videos showing the condition he was in afterward, including the head tilt and discomfort he's been experiencing. I expected professional and safe care for my dog, and instead I was left with a traumatized dog, a stressful emergency vet visit, and hundreds of dollars in unexpected medical bills. I truly hope management takes this seriously so no other dog has to go through this.

Ollie is a younger pup with lots of energy and no matter how many walks and playtime he gets with us, he's never as tired as he is when he is after he comes home from daycare at Poshpetcare! We know he enjoys it since he is sooo excited when we pull up, he knows exactly where he is going and is still just as happy when we pick him up. Everyone that works there is super nice and you can tell genuinely loves dogs. We met the owner and he was friendly and caring and really put us at ease knowing our pup is always in good hands when he's there. Ollie had his first overnight stay there recently and it seemed to go great! We have been looking for a long time for a good place that cares about our pup and we feel comfortable with and we have finally found the place! Also, LOVE that they stay open until 11PM. We've never had him stay that late but most daycare closes a lot earlier so it's nice to have the flexibility! Thank you to everyone at Poshpetcare for loving our pup as much as we do!

I'm extremely disappointed and disturbed by how I was treated by this business, particularly by the…read moreowner, Brian. My brother's dog is 15 years old and has been going to this groomer for over a decade. I have been responsible for caring for him, including scheduling, paying for, and consistently tipping for his grooming services. After so many years of our family patronizing this business--and my own experience as a paying and tipping customer--I never expected to be treated this way. I scheduled a grooming appointment on Wednesday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. for 12:30 p.m. the following day. When I woke up Thursday morning, he was limping. Given that he is a 15-year-old senior dog, I took that seriously. I did what I believe any responsible caregiver would do: I called the groomer and rescheduled his appointment so that he could be seen by his veterinarian and receive his scheduled Adequan treatment before being groomed. I did not simply cancel or fail to show up. I moved the appointment from Thursday to Saturday because he was limping and I was concerned about his well-being. I was then told that I needed to provide a doctor's note proving that he was actually going to the veterinarian or I would be charged a no-show/cancellation fee. Although I found this request excessive, I obtained the documentation and brought it with me to the rescheduled appointment. When I arrived on Saturday, the gentleman at the front desk was extremely rude and denied asking me for a doctor's note--even though the only reason I had the documentation with me was because I had been told it was required to avoid the fee. The situation escalated when the owner, Brian, called me. He yelled at me and argued that an Adequan injection was "not a reason" to cancel a grooming appointment. To be very clear: I did not reschedule because he was simply receiving an Adequan injection. I rescheduled because my 15-year-old dog was LIMPING. I wanted him seen and treated before putting him through a grooming appointment. His health and comfort will always take priority over a grooming appointment. What I found most disturbing was that during this confrontation, Brian told me that he would not release the dog to me. That crossed a line for me. Whatever disagreement we may have had about a cancellation policy or fee, telling the person responsible for a 15-year-old senior dog that you will not release that dog to them is completely unacceptable to me. Businesses have every right to establish cancellation policies. My issue is how this situation was handled: requiring proof of a veterinary visit, being rude when I provided the requested proof, dismissing the actual reason I rescheduled, yelling at me, and then telling me the dog would not be released to me. After more than a decade of our family bringing him here--and after the time I have personally spent caring for him, paying for his grooming and consistently tipping--this is certainly not how I expected our relationship with this business to end. I expect anyone entrusted with an animal's care, particularly a 15-year-old senior dog, to prioritize that animal's welfare and treat the people responsible for them with basic professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, after this experience with Brian, I no longer feel comfortable entrusting him to this business.

Only different really is the parking situation. There's still parking to the side which they have a few spots reserved but the rest would be either metered parking or street parking. Old location was part of a little strip mall with plenty of parking. Regardless, this store still has everything that I need for my baby. They have the food that we like to get as some other chain doesn't carry them. The staffs are always so welcoming and very friendly. There's plenty of things that they carry. It's a small store but pretty much packed with everything you need. Loads of brands that they carry. There toys, treat, apparel, and so much more. Pretty sure you'll find whatever you need when you're here.

Plus, I was pleasantly surprised to find that some of the staff from the old store are now at this location, in particular the fabulous Taylor who is an absolute gem - great people skills, professional and very kind. Apart from food supplies, I like the fact that Urban Pet stocks a huge selection of high-quality accessories - toys, collars, scratchers, etc - that are not common anywhere else. This is a wonderful store, in business for eighteen years (meaning, they know what they're doing) with free off-street parking adjacent (right-hand side), and a wonderful loyalty scheme. Highly recommended.
