Today, the sign special said "bass ale battered cod sticks" and no mater what, I kept seeing "bad ass fish sitcks," so that's what I ordered! I will admit, on the plate, something about them just looked a little disappointing. I even commented as such to my lunch mates. But then I bit into one. I was so wrong & pleasantly surprised! Very pretty presentation but the flavor didn't match the look. It was disappointing that all sides were separate and the burgers ranged from $11-$16 separately. The burger I received I was unable to eat because it was uncooked, extremely juicy and tasted very bland. The beef however was extremely fresh so if that is your preference - this is a place I recommend you give a try . My husband also ordered a strawberry milkshake which ended up being half a cup of whip cream and maybe a cup of malted ice cream. Nevertheless, it was disappointing for the price. Definitely not a burger place of my taste but I do suggest you give them a chance and have your own experience. Hopefully it will be better than ours. read more

I ordered two kids meals which were "grilled cheese ". I was their first customer of the day, and we waited while watching numerous others leave with larger orders. It took 25 minutes and cost more than $17 for the two meals and an iced tea for myself. What we received were not grilled cheese at all. Rather, the plates had fries and two slider buns with partially melted cheese (see pic). My littles said that they were gross and only ate fries for lunch. Awful, awful, awful. read more

The burgers and fries are pretty good but are very overpriced, they charge fancy restaurant prices for something marginally better than Red Robin. Service was just okay, we ordered 2 different milkshakes and they made 2 of the same milkshake then argued with us saying that's what we ordered. They did eventually fix it but the person at the counter had to go find a manager to see if they were allowed to. read more

This place didn't have good reviews, but I thought their single burger was amazing. Very fresh. Next time I would ask for light seasoning. All burgers are cook to order. The only bad thing going for them is there is no drive thru, and in the same center there is a Culvers and McDonald's. The restaurant was clean and the staff was nice. They do have TV, and it's a little pricey. $6'48 for a single cheeseburger, no fries or drink. They advertise ice cream. I didn't see any ice cream here. I will have to check next time. read more

As others have said, if you have eaten at a real Bub's burger this one will disappointing to you. It's a very small menu and you order at the counter then come pick your food up once they page you. You must order everything individually as they dont have combo meals. The seasonings they use are good but a little goes a long way. Both our burgers and fries were so salty you couldn't eat them. For me the bun was the best part of the meal. They do have patio seating which is nice. Save your money and go across the street for a better burger that is more affordable. read more

We stopped in this little gem of a burger joint after training camp Sunday. What a way to end an already great day with the hubby! I don't know what seasonings they use (they sell it by the way) but their burgers are awesome! So good I ordered a hotdog too, took two bites and brought the rest home, just to see if they tasted as yummy!? Guess what!? They do! M I went up to get my hubby a shake because he remembers a cinnamon shake there years ago but they said they only have those at the Carmel location. I'm really, really torn here. As other reviewers have noted, the burgers here are expensive and the menu is highly abbreviated (compared to the downtown Carmel Bub's). This is more of a "Bub's Express" type of thing. They've taken a page from the Chipotle play book and went with sort of an industrial, stainless steel type of look & feel for the interior of the restaurant. The menu is, as I mentioned, very small, so there isn't much decision-making needed when you're placing your order. Buzzers are handed out to every customer, regardless of whether you're dine-in or carry-out. So, if you're in a huge hurry, plan on waiting a few minutes, but the trade-off is freshness and quality. So, in the final analysis, this restaurant is a toss-up: The Good: Excellent food quality, like-new (clean) interior, trendy interior design, friendly staff. In a new strip mall that's accessible and close to home (for me). The Bad: The menu is too small and the portion (burger) sizes are small. The "Big Ugly" at the downtown Carmel location is a massive burger, where you get your picture posted to the wall if you can eat the entire thing in one sitting. I get it that that's not the style of this location, but regardless, these burgers are too small. The Ugly: Cost. Yes, I realize that if you just want a bag of hamburgers for $5, there's a McDonalds literally right next door. However, as much as I enjoy paying more for quality, this even crossed my difficult-to-cross threshold. Guys, you're going to price yourselves out of business. Take it down a bit, please. read more

When you order by phone, there are no signs directing you where to go to pick up your burger, so you stand in the order line and waste the time you had hoped to save by ordering for pickup. You have to know what you're getting into at this Bub's location. It's their "fast-casual" location, which is different in a couple ways from the other locations. First, it's a slimmed down menu (no ice cream, fewer side options, etc.). Secondly, the ordering process is at the counter which speeds up wait times. Third, the Elk Burger is priced a lot higher than the standard burger (I still can't figure out why; maybe inventory/demand?). Luckily, I had read previous reviews and adjusted my expectations which helped me have a great experience! The burgers are great - I love the soft buns that they make in their own bakery and the burger and toppings are always flavorful. The highlight for me were the sweet potato fries with marshmallow dipping sauce! That sweet sauce coating the crisp salty sweet potato waffle fry is still making my mouth water! The service was fine. There was no line when I arrived soon after they opened at 11:00am on a Monday, so the wait time wasn't as bad as other reviews. They did originally forget to include one order of fries, but they quickly corrected their mistake when I asked about it. I'm a big fan of Bub's and I think it's great to have a fast casual location to quickly get a taste of their burgers and fries for a reasonable price. read more

Bub's is a copycat of Five Guys with smaller portions. This place is strategically located near Grand Park, luring in hungry families after sports events like a mythological siren song. We were caught in the allure of Bub's when compared to other nearby fast food options - in a hurry and no time to drive anywhere else. So Bub's it is. The food was OK but not worth the premium price. Burgers tasted decent. Large hot dog was cold in the middle. Fries were textbook definition of "meh." The cook time was slow given the relatively small menu. I sent it back and again they did not toast the bread and the Dog was still cold--No cooking stripes on the Dog and no cooking coloration--and I took another bite! It was almost as if someone was messing with me. Literally, STILL uncooked. The burger was lukewarm, but edible. In a weird way the burger tasted too smokey--maybe liquid smoke? This place is a pricier less caring version of Burger King. When confronted about the Dog they took it with no contrition. I'm not sure if the first time back anyone even said a word. After the second return, they did refund my friend. Please understand food is personal, and when you're fed raw food--they have went too far. Sadly, I cannot find a way to give them even Two-Stars. My boyfriend and I are home visiting from Chicago and decided to stop at Bub's on the way out of town. We've had Bub's at the Carmel and Zionsville locations multiple times so we knew what to expect coming in. Unfortunately, we found things were a little different. We ordered and got our food about 5 minutes later. Honestly----I'm not sure how this is "Bub's". The bun on my burger was cold. The fries were great - but they're not even the waffle fries!!!! The chili had no flavor. The salad looked wilted. The malted shake had chunks of freezer burn ice in it. I'm completely baffled by the fact that this cost us $37. If you're going to open up a continuation of a chain of the same name -- it should have the SAME QUALITY OF FOOD. This isn't McDonald's. How can a local chain open a location that's this bad?? It's false advertisement at the least. Laziness at the worst. Don't take something people love and turn it into something that's not even worth half of the original. This is very different to the Bub's Burgers in Carmel. It is fast casual with a pretty small menu, and sides are not included with the burger. However, the food was still yummy! I'm surprised by the reviews stating that their food was cold, because ours was hot! We went during a slower time so we did not have a long wait. It was a little pricer than expected. Ordered online. Super confusing ordering system makes it so you can't tell if you're asking them to NOT put the items on the burger, or that you DO want them on the burger. I clarified that I do want those items when I came in and they said I had it backwards and they fixed it no problem. I had the elk burger, which was pretty good. A little dry because the bun is so dense, but after I slathered a bunch of mayo and ketchup it was good. Fries were PERFECT. Like crazy perfect. Hey vegetarian friends, there is not really anything for you here aside from fries and a portobello mushroom sandwich. The restaurant decor is quite kitschy since the wall are plastered with pictures of people who have taken on the monster-sized burger. The food that I had (onion rings and fries) were okay, but nothing spectacular.
