    I came here for dinner on a Saturday after a friend recommended the restaurant. We were able to get a table for two right away with no reservation. Our waiter was super attentive, and our food came out super fast. We ordered some margaritas, their oyster appetizer special and the seafood paella with chorizo. Everything was delicious and I would definitely go back to try more of their tapas. I also loved their spooky jackolanterns! Perfect for the October spooky season.

    Can't believe it took us over six months to try out this amazing neighborhood Tapas place. Sandy, our server got us seated as we walked in around dinner time on a Sunday evening. Amazing vibe and noise levels on the lower end as we were seated on high top table. They have plenty of vegetarian options, and we got Patatas Fritas ($6), Hongos ($15) - which was the best plate!, Berenjena ($12) which lacked taste, Albondigas ($15), and Gambas al Ajillo ($15) - shrimp tapas that was thoroughly enjoyed! Yes, it gets slightly expensive when doing Tapas, but some of the dishes were flavor bombs! The Patatas Fritas could've been slightly warmer, but none the less were pretty tasty! Will definitely visit again with family and friends for their excellent service, and friendly staff.

    Excellent tapas restaurant with a cosy ambience and excellent service. The menu offers such a large selection with additional daily specials that it is very hard to decide what to order. Highly recommend the creamy cauliflower and the succulent wild boar from the selection we ended up getting. Small downside is that it is rather packed, and there are only high tables inside which, as a small person, aren't a favorite of mine. Also, my cocktail was a bit watery - but maybe that was just a one off. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes & drinks.

    Meh. The service was great. Lovely bartender and server. But the food is just your average Spanish tapas place. The tomato bread is bland, the sangria is not giving the vibes that it should be, while the best part of the experience was the shrimp! Delightful and tasty! But that's about it, would I come back? Maybe for the happy hour when it's relatively cheaper than the dinner options.

    I have no idea how this place has such high ratings. All of the dishes were either underseasoned or cooked improperly. The chicken croquetas lacked salt and were topped with a balsamic glaze, which was odd. The steak (Churrasco) also lacked salt and had a strange blob of garlic sauce on top. The menu was full of strange concoctions (not in a good way) that I've never seen at any other tapas place in the city. If you like flavorful dishes and salt, I'd avoid this place.

    This is now my second time here and I wanted to make sure there was not a hoaks so we got sad if bartender made the meanest cosmopolitan again and I ordered the Grill small octopus again and now I'm trying yeah tortillas Español I did not disappoint. Thank you so much.

    My friend and I had dinner here on the day all the floods occurred. The interior is cool with dim lighting, giving the place a grown up atmosphere. The chairs were high up, which felt a bit weird. Upon being seated, we were served bread with olive oil. The bread was soft and soaked up the oil well. I ordered the Plato de Buceo, a platter of tapas, including (in order of my favorite to least favorite): + Bacon Wrapped Dates: Bacon was delightfully crispy, which was a nice contrast to the satisfyingly soft, chewy, and sweet dates. + Bacalao Croquettes: These were wonderfully crunchy and well seasoned, made with fresh Bacalao. + Fritters: The filling was a tasty mix of serrano ham and manchego cheese. This was light and full of flavor. + Goat Cheese Croquettes: Amazingly cheesy with a BBQ-like sauce made with smoked honey, strawberry purée, as well as strawberries. + Pimentos: Blistered green peppers, sprinkled with sea salt. At first, I felt this was too spicy for me, but I was able to handle the heat after the initial bite. They were perfectly charred and very fresh. Service was solid. Our waiter was welcoming and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. I would definitely return to try the Fideos con Camarones (Basque noodles with shrimp and chorizo) and Baby Lamb Chops.

    This wine bar is my local happy hour favorite. They have a great selection of Spanish wines and sherry. During happy hour they have small bites available for $5. Dinner is lovely. They have several paella options including one that is seafood free. My partner is allergic to shellfish so this is one of the few places where he can enjoy paella. The dim lighting and warm wood tables and bar also makes this a great date night option.

    A little less consistent than before - croquetas are still good - esp. the goat cheese. It is hard to find them on the UWS, so I always get at least two types. Instead of the sauteed calamari - which I love - we tried the garlic shrimp. They were tasteless and oily. Too bad. The dishes with melted cheese - such as the stuffed mushroom special and the pepper stuffed with cheese also tasted a bit oily - as if they were overcooked. The final disappointment was the Spanish tortilla which should be a simple but sublime dish of thinly sliced potatoes poached in oil until silky and then added to slowly cooked scrambled eggs. This was like an omelet with some large chunks of parboiled potatoes thrown in. Beside the great croquetas, we enjoyed a very very decadent cauliflower in a cheesy bechamel sauce. Even if you hate cauliflower, you will love this dish. The service is excellent. We were the only people sitting outside which usually means that the service is substandard (I have taken to calling the restaurant and asking them to come to our outdoor table!) But Buceo 95 is committed to the outdoor experience, the service was every bit as attentive as it was in the restaurant itself.

    Updated: came back exactly a year later with my (back then, first date) but now boyfriend and we had a lovely experience. Ambiance is still very nice and romantic. They have improved their set up so that there is AC inside the restaurant and it's no longer unbearably hot and humid, plus they extended their space with AC to include a small portion of the street which has big windows so you get the view of the street with the comfort of AC! Food tasted a lot better this time but we did order different items. We got: Beet salad: very bright and refreshing. Had a citrusy orange dressing with some goat cheese and nuts. Patatas bravas: amazing just like last time! Loved them the same. Definitely order these. Hongos: this was truly fantastic! One of my favorites. Mushrooms stuffed with goat cheese and a nice pistachio crust. The mushroom was meaty and juicy and went very well with the creaminess of the goat cheese and nuttiness of pistachios. Came in skewers which I thought was cool but did come incredibly hot and we were not warned...So please be careful about eating these too quickly so you don't burn yourself. Croquetas de Bacalao: crispy with a soft cod filling that was very comforting. Comes with a nice caper aoli. Pretty oily batter but was craving that so they were perfect for the mood I was in. Cazuela de Mariscos: delicious tomato based dish with some white wine in the sauce that had shrimp, octopus, squid, and oysters. Very tasty sauce and pretty filling portion. We used some table bread for the sauce and it was a very good combo. Flamenquin de Pollo: similar to Cordon Bleu but a bit more potent since it had jamón and manchego cheese. Very good although a little overdone. Flan: amazing, mild flavor. Not too sweet. Texture was a little too hard for flan but still decent if you have a flan craving. Ice cream: couldn't get a good picture for this but it was very nice. The ice cream was creamy and came with these dried sour cherries. There was some liquor in it so it tasted like an elevated rum raisin ice cream. Delicious and refreshing for a hot summer day. Service was again fantastic. We got many rounds of bread, multiple refills on our water, and they were not rushing us to get out. Love the lowkey, romantic ambiance and the location. Will definitely come back to try more tapas :)

You either have to wave madly or go to the bar and ask for a drink. The staff is always closing early with the staff excuse that "we are not busy" yet guests are routinely turned away. The staff is not happy and begrudge being there. DO NOT believe in the hours posted on the website. There is a built-in clientele but the staff can't wait to close it down. I don't know what is wrong with management but they have lost the plot. 3. Ambience - The space could be so much better than it is. The lighting is okay but the seating in the bar area is not appropriate. The adjoining cafe has a better feeling. Ambience has a lot to do with making guests feel welcome - this staff doesn't understand the meaning of hospitality but they should not be blamed. It is clear they have no training and are not held to any standard. If you want to go to a great space, go to the Wallace Hotel around the corner (I am NOT affiliated with them... have just gone there many times). It is so sad to see a place with such potential be so poorly run, especially as they have such little competition. The Arthouse Bar has the potential to be THE leading cocktail/music/late-night bar on the Upper West Side.
