Cracked corn dip. Should be called hot bacon dip with corn.
    Deron B.

Had a nice time tonight. Dan our server was great. On point with his whole game and I truly appreciate a waiter who knows just when to stop by and check and when not too. The cracked corn did was meh, maybe I expected something different but it was so Smokey and baconish, the corn was lost with its flavor. Michelle's burger tasted good but was really dry. I had fish and chips. Definitely a beer batter which was pronounced and flavor forward. The fish was nice and moist so that I enjoyed. We will be back as we love the atmosphere and it a great stop on our way to see the Iron Pigs.

    Rustic entry to lodge-style restaurant

The food was fantastic, but for me atmosphere stole the show! We found this gem while staying at the nearby Bear Creek Mountain Resort for a romantic weekend getaway, and so very pleased with our experience. Inside you will be greeted with lodge-style decor and warm vibes. You can dress low key, or jazz it up for a fun bar night. Large bar, and large dining area, and totally kid-friendly too. It was a fun dinner out, don't hesitate.

Burger with bacon and sweet potato fries

Waiter was very kind and attentive. Food was decent overall. cheese fries were kind of soggy, Massive amount of cheese on them. Sweet potato fries were crispy and very yummy. Burgers were decent. History was interesting and very spooky. Chicken tenders were very good and crispy, not dry. Typical bar restaurant food.

    Strawberry Margarita

We both had margarita with our meals, I had coconut, brother had strawberry. We forgot to ask if they use tequila in margaritas. Chili was very good; chili contains beans and has good kick to it. Salmon and steamed Broccoli were also very good. Had steak fries with meal and pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Tried Naughty Elf drink during holidays. Mushroom Stuffed with Seafood was good. We also tried Jalapeno Corn Fritters and Battered Cauliflower appetizers. French Onion Soup was served steaming hot. Crab Corn Chowder was so good we used to get it every time we came here to eat. Now Buckeye only makes crab corn chowder on certain days, like Friday. Salad with romaine Lettuce, shrimp and oil & vinegar was good. Black Diamond Steak Salad was good with parmesan cheese. Tried flame-grilled burger & fries. Black Diamond Steak Sandwich with steak, mushrooms, onions, swiss cheese and BBQ sauce on the side was so large couldn't finish it. And that was without the roll. Tried Black Diamond Steak Pasta with marinara sauce. Chicken & steak fajitas were good. Salmon with whiskey glaze was very good. It came with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, which were pretty good. Steamed broccoli was good. Braised Beef Short Ribs with cauliflower and sweet potato fries was pretty good. Caprese Chicken without cheese was good. Bing Cherry Cognac Pie was amazing, made with bing cherries marinated in cognac on flaky pie crust. We are disappointed Buckeye no longer serves this pie.

Raw steak that was ordered medium-rare

I'll cut to the chase, ordered filet mignon medium rare w/ compound butter. Received raw meat with a cup of cold compound butter that I got to pay $30.99 for. The filet was not seasoned and of course the butter would not melt over a cold steak--I've never seen anything so pitiful. Our server gave us a lot of apologies which really didn't satisfy so I asked to speak w/ the manager. Abby, the manager, didn't realize I witnessed the entire exchange between her and our server so I already knew she didn't give a care about how poorly my steak came out. Sure enough, when she came to our table she offered lip service w/ attitude and never offered any kind of resolution except taking the steak back to the kitchen even though we had already paid the check and food was boxed to go home. So I paid $30.99 to take home a steak that I will have to cook properly. Yep, I feel majorly ripped off! The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the appetizers were good and our server, Becky, was wonderful. Please note in the picture w/ steak that is not mashed potatoes, it is the compound butter. I did not know the compound butter was a side condiment instead of being used to season the steak while cooking. I found this very strange, especially because the steak was not otherwise seasoned.

    All Good!

Atmosphere was very welcoming and cozy. Service was very good. Food was delicious. Drinks were reasonable.

Black Diamond Sandwich - the BEST ever! One of the reasons I come here.

I love the Buckeye Tavern. I have given it less stars in the past but for the LV, it is a gem. Bender put in the work & that's what the hospitality business needs - a dedicated owner that truly cares about his clientele. I sit down & immediately am greeted by patrons that I've known for over 20 years & have been coming to the Buckeye for years, themselves. Now me, I've lived all over the place - Miami, Philly, & other major metropolitan areas. Walking in here made me feel at home since I've been coming here for over 20 years. Thank you to all the staff, from the hostess to the busboy. The bartender (not sure the name) is at the top of her game. She is amazing. $20 tips for anyone that is friendly, courteous, and not pretentious. Love the BUCKEYE TAVERN. I am glad I am now able to upgrade my review. My humblest regards, k.david

Short ribs with mashed potatoes, fresh asparagus.

Saturday night out with friends at the Buckeye Tavern for dinner was great! First time trying this restaurant and found out that they don't take reservations : ( however, they quoted a wait time of 25 minutes & we were called for our table exactly 25 minutes after we arrived. We got a drink while we waited & chatted with our friends, so the wait went fast. The food was fabulous! I read a review raving about the short ribs & had to try it. It did not disappoint. The meat was so tender & the braising sauce/gravy was delicious. Creamy mashed potatoes & fresh asparagus made it superb. Everyone else at our table was pleased with their meals. The waitress was attentive & pleasant. The building & decor inside was what I might call modern rustic. Very nice atmosphere. We'll definitely try the Buckeye again!

If you haven't been to a Roadhouse before, be prepared for peanut shells on the floors. Free bags of peanuts are hanging by the hosts booth- you help yourself and start cracking, shucking, tossing the peanuts on the floor and eat away! Staff was super friendly, bathrooms were ok (a busy place though so the bathrooms really could use some attention) and music playing was great. Now food- we had 7 people and 5 ordered the filet, one ordered the steak kabobs over rice and then I had the prime rib. The steak kabobs along with one of the filets were asked to be cook very well done, and needed to be returned for more cooking- (to be honest I only saw the kabob and it was really red still). The manager came over with the returned food and our waiter and apologized wholeheartedly- not necessary, but really nice to take the time to do. My prime rib was excellent, the only thing I wish they would change is their au ju sauce, it didn't taste like the real drippings from a cooked prime rib but some sort of jar type with added smoke flavoring- not great...at all. No alcoholic beverage were ordered, a couple people had a tea or pop. Overall great dinner. Split the bill three ways with each group paying $68 something each- plus we left a $50 tip- so $250 ish total (so about $40 each). Give this place a try, not bad!

We were 7 so I put our names in the waitlist (no reservation) and 5 of our party arrived early. Unfortunately they do not consider you until the whole party arrives. The 7th thought we would've seated without her so she didn't show up until half an hour later. Once we told the hostess our party was complete, we waited another ~15 to get a table. You can imagine those who arrived early are getting impatient. Good thing is that our server put everyone at ease and host-crisis averted! Almost everyone ordered steak and everyone was super happy with the quality of meat. Of course the Texas size overwhelmed us and seeing so much leftover was sad (all staying in hotels and no way to take doggie bags). One highlight of the meal of the cactus blossom- none of us have had it. It was fun.

My brother and sister in law have raved about this brunch and it IS rave worthy!! So yesterday was my day! We were seated at a table that was wobbling like nobody's business. That's one thing I can't stand! We brought it to our server, Bella's, attention and she promptly assisted us and stabilized the table. During the course of our brunch the manager (I presume) also checked in to make sure our table was cooperating (which it was). Bella provided great service to us. I really enjoyed the offerings at this wonderful brunch! My sister in law made a reservation and I'm glad she did. Not long after we were seated the place started to get busy. I thought the food quality and presentation was top notch! Some of the offerings were prime rib, roasted turkey, omelette made to order, oysters Rockefeller- giant shrimp cocktail, salads, pasta, chicken divan, lox, bagels and a dessert emporium that will rock your world! That's only some of the offerings. So many choices you will find a lot to enjoy here for even the most picky palate! I enjoyed the prime rib especially. The young man slicing it was very pleasant (so sorry did not get his name) and it was tender and so freaking delicious. I enjoyed that immensely! The icing on the cake though was that delicious creamy horseradish sauce! WOW! Also I loved the tortellini with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach in a cream sauce- so rich and decadent. Another item I had to try was the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was probably the best I've ever had. It is rich but had a nice lemony finish. I tried several other tasty items including the fresh and flavorful shrimp cocktail. I was truly happy with the entire experience. For 45$ you are getting the world. That's rare today! Included in the price is coffee, tea and soft drinks- that's another big plus for me! I hate when restaurants try to nickel and dime for soft drinks etc. Not here! They also offer 5$ mimosas and Bloody Mary's. My husband enjoyed his Bloody Mary. I would definitely come back in a heart beat! Sonia was very pleasant too, she was restocking the side room with offerings. We had a pleasant conversation. *** oh*** one other thing I failed to mention- when I was there, the buffet was in pristine condition throughout the experience. I've been to other places where the buffet looks great in the beginning but then, as time passes it starts to look sloppy with food splatter, looks picked over, and food items nearly empty. Not here!!! Great experience. You won't regret it!!! It's well worth the price!

The asparagus was thicker than I prefer but it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Sometimes thicker stalks become stringy. Not these. The mashed potatoes on their own were good, but I took it to the next level adding in some of the demi glaze and they were absolute perfection. Creamy, buttery, and rich. Of course the main event - the tomahawk steak. As you should, I order this steak rare. The outside had a perfect char. Where the fat rendered tasted like a crispy bacon. The whole steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It didn't NEED a sauce, but the glaze complimented the flavors perfectly. My only critique here is how loud the place was. It was a bustling night and if you are going for a quiet intimate spot, this may not be for you. However, the atmosphere was buzzing, the restaurant is beautiful, and the service is on point. It's a must try!
