This is one of my favorite dining spots near my home town. It is a pub like atmosphere, small, and usually very busy. Someone noted that they do not take reservations, but that is not correct. Tried this place for the first time in May 2015, my husband and I both had burgers and they were very good. Different that your normal burger. The bun and cheese were unexpected but delicious. It is not a big restaurant but they have a solid clientele so you need to either be willing to wait to be seated or go in off times. You can call before and see if their is a wait or not. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The best thing to order is their buckram burgers served on an english muffin. It is yummy. Went there for a dinner with my mom and aunt and it was SO delicious - we went with the burger, duck and a couple of other items and enjoyed everything. However, we went for brunch and were pretty disappointed, especially seeing how much people praised the brunch. We stopped in for dinner since we were in the area. It was well before a dinner crowd (4:45) and although all the booths were empty they "had to give us a table". In hindsight the table was the best place we could have been. I'd love to say our visit was great, and for the most part it was, my husband & daughter each had a different soup, both of which were very tasty. My husband said his burger was really good and my daughter enjoyed her southwestern chicken. I had the special pear and shrimp appetizer as an entree and it was delicious. The issue came when we were looking for our waitress to decide if we wanted dessert and my husband saw "Mickie's friend" run under the booth! It is true the temperature dropped dramatically today but we did not make a scene at all, my husband quietly alerted the manager and the next thing we knew another waitress came and dropped our check. A very nice place that offers excellent food. One time I had lunch on the deck area which was very enjoyable and the second time I had brunch inside. No complaints about the place at all- the staff was very nice and accommodating and the cafe was very cozy. The prices are reasonable overall (perhaps just a bit on the high side for some items) and the quality of the food is very good (you'll probably have food left over for a doggie bag!). If you want to go on the weekends, you should definitely book a reservation and be aware that the parking lot in back is kind of small. Definitely worth going to again! read more

Buckram Stables is a Locust Valley Classic. The decor is pub chic/horse barn with a nice added element of family-owned hospitality and antique electronic toys like train sets and carousels making it more youthful and sweet. My husband and I first went here due to their late night hours. It was incredible to get into NY at 11PM and be able to find a good local place that was open. This was back in 2006 and we have been a fan since. I particularly LOVE their warm country salad and their steak salad with the crispy onions. Their burgers are great as well. It is not fine dining by any means, but as a foodie who doesn't particularly love pub food I can safely say this is one of the best pubs in the world. Their drinks are also strong and yummy. Have been going here for years just for Burgers and their waffle fries. I hate to have to agree with some of the comments but the burgers are not consistently cooked to what you order and tend to be on the 'crispy' side (i.e. overcooked). With the burger joint craze over the last few years, there are much better burger places but you will need to travel a bit. As for me, I still go to Buckram since it's so close and I order a 'rare' burger to get the medium I actually want :) . read more

Wonderful Find My fiancee went to Buckram based on a recoomendation and we really enjoyed the place. We both had the stabilizer and it was great. We appreciated how they decorated for Christmas. The only reason I'm even giving stars is because of how sweet our waitress was. The food took forever to come and was lukewarm when it arrived; steak tidbits were tough, the potato skins were stale, the waffle fries were obviously from a frozen bag. What really ruined a good night, however, was the manager and how he behaved. After waiting an hour for dinner, my toddler obviously became aggitated from being hungry. I gave her crackers from our bag to calm her down, and some fell to the floor as she gulped them down. The manager who had been hovering picked up some pieces on the floor and then scolded her for throwing them telling her he didn't want to vacuum up after her. Well maybe if you actually fed us, you wouldn't have a toddler about to throw a fit. He continued to hover over her and pick up any thing that fell to the floor--napkin, cracker, whatever, sighing and throwing dirty looks *at a toddler*. When she dropped her coloring paper, he picked it up and instead of giving it back, threw it away. We felt uncomfortable, unwelcome, and when the food actually came out, pissed off that we were having this experience for subpar food. read more

Recently moved to area. Stopped in for lunch. Was packed, but seemed to be a lot of regulars, which is great. No tables available and we were told a 15 minute wait. While we were waiting for at least 15 minutes, a couple who are obviously regulars walked in, and were waiting with us. After several glances and head nods, they were given the first available table. My wife and I weren't even acknowledged, and left standing there. Even when we walked out, never even acknowledged. It's unfortunate but the way we were blown off pretty much guarantees I'll never step foot in there again, or recommend to anyone. read more

The manager came over and noted i didnt leave enough, so asked for my 2 dollars back and put that towards a pack of cigarettes, which frankly have more flavor than most of their items on the menu. I have been coming here for many years. The food is always excellent. However ,this Saturday evening-Sept. 16, 2017 was different. The service was poor. As a result,so was my tip. And I may add that I am a lavish tipper. A tip is akin to a "reputation" in that is has to be "Earned"" . When we left the restaurant after leaving no tip--one of the staff approached us in the parking lot and asked "if there was an issue with the service" I responded--the issue with the service is that "there wasn't any". Plain & simple. A tip is to be based on service. End of story. The mere fact that we were approached this way in the parking lot is unacceptable. I have been coming here a long time and always tipped appropriately-which was based upon fine service. That being said-I was insulted this evening and I am writing to let you know that I will never return as a customer---as good as the food is...... The decor is really charming, with one of those Olympic Village toy towns as the center piece, with a floating gondola circulating the perimeter. The booth style seating is homey and cheerful. I love this place! It is my go to place to have a great meal and worry about getting so dressed up. My fiance and I come here often. He usually orders the stabilizer burger which has 2 kinds of cheese, bacon and sauteed mushroom and onions, or the Black Angus Strip Steak. I seem to always order an appetizer and entree from their specials menu. I love when they do a pan seared scallop over greens for a special app. Their seafood specials are always yummy and they come with a vegetable medley and choice of rice or potato. I always order the split grilled potato. It is basically a baked potato split and thrown on the grill. It is so good! They make their own guacamole and Salsa for their quesadillas as well. Been to Buckram Stables many times, but found it drastically changed. One waitress struggled to handle everyone and every complaint. And we witnessed two other tables complaining as we were forced to do. We waited a half hour for our drinks. Then the wrong food was delivered followed by cold, overcooked food minus the sauces. We thought the management had changed, but were told that was not the case. What is a fact is that this was the last time we would dine at Buckram Stables. read more
