The outside has a wooded log style lodge type feel. The interior is an open concept with high ceiling and exposed roof-truss. The staff is very friendly and they welcome you with a smile. I feel small things like that play a big part in how I am going to enjoy my time at their establishment. They have a great selection of beers on tap, bottle and some speciality drinks that look good, but I stuck to my bottled beer, in this case shipyard pumpkin ale. I ordered the Big Buck Combo and the name speaks for itself as they put a large oval plate in front of my containing: sliced brisket, pulled pork, pit chicken and sausage. I chose baked beans and coleslaw for my two sides. The pulled pork had great flavor, but was a bit on the dry side so I added some of their JuJu sauce and that hit the spot flavor wise. The pit chicken was slightly dry on the outside, but once inside the chicken was quite moist. The chicken skin though was not crispy, which was disappointing, but I still enjoyed the overall flavor and the dry rub they used. The smoked sausage had the best overall flavor and had a nice snap to the casing when you bit into it. The baked beans were really good and I enjoyed the coleslaw and cornbread. I couldn't tell if the pickles were house-made, but they were a great compliment to the overall dish. Under the chicken, in my picture, were 3 slices of brisket. The brisket had a nice smokey flavor and the fat they left on it melted in your mouth. They could have done a better job trimming the fat, but I do recognize that fat does add flavor to any meat. Overall I enjoyed my meal and definitely took half of it home with me. I would come back again, but likely try other items to gauge where I feel their strongpoint is as it relates to their BBQ selections. Went for a family birthday dinner on a Wednesday at about 630. Place was fairly loud, but we were also seated near the kids play area. Our waitress Whitney, was great. She made an extra effort to speak loudly for my grandfather who is pretty hard of hearing and has to wear hearing aids. So I appreciated the kindness as we normally have to order for him. Onto the food, no one at my table actually ordered BBQ which is probably a crime when you go to a BBQ place. The food we did order was pretty decent. Both my parents got their steak tip salad, which was huge and the steak was cooked pretty well. However the salad dressing was a balsamic vingarette was almost as thick as molasses which was a little gross. I got the Mac & cheese, which was huge and creamy. But it wasn't hot enough when it was brought to the table, maybe it had sat under the hotplate too long? Also it needed a little something extra on top, maybe some breadcrumbs to put it over the top. My grandfather got the fish and chips, I tried the fish absolutely insane. Not too heavy on the fry oil, and the fish itself was like the size of my head. Overall the food was good, they had a good beer selection and some craft cocktails that were reasonably priced. We stayed at the Econo-Lodge across the road from this restaurant. Arrived around 8:00pm for dinner with my husband. The place was busy, but we were quickly seated in the bar area. The bartender was also our waitperson who was friendly and attentive. We liked the dark and fun atmosphere but n addition to the amusing wall art. We had the ultimate burger, combo dinner, and bread pudding. The burger was cooked perfectly and topped with pork belly, burnt ends and fried jalapeños on s soft but grilled brioche bun. I was not a fan of the sausage, but my wife found it very tasty. As for the sides... We found those more "feh" in general and the upcharge for the ones we had like mac & chesse was **in our shared view** wholly not worth the cost. It tasted fine, not offensive or bad, not a strong or bad flavour, plenty of cheese....but such a tiny portion for a shocking cost and not tasty enough to justify itself. Menu said baby back but he offered the 2 types. and one other meat choice with 2 sides and cornbread Ribs were good, all pink meat so smoked all the way through. A lot of rub. More of a smokey flavor than anything else but a bit of sweetness. Not a lot of rib meat on them but still pretty good. Sliced brisket as a choice side meat with the combo. Perfect amount, 3 small slices. Very good flavor, I actually finished. Good amount of pepper corn but not super overpowering, fat melted nicely, not super moist or warm but still tender and good. They make their own sauces. 4 of them, Smokehouse Juju, Carolina Gold, Red Skinny Dip, and Blueberry Haze. He says it's made with native blue berries. Very intriguing, honestly speaking I think if you did a blind taste test you would say it's just thick sweet BBQ sauce. If I asked you to identify a fruit in the sauce you might say Raspberry or Raisin or maybe even Plum. If you saw the sauce and tasted it you might say Blueberry because of the dark color. They all had a little bit of grit to them though which is nice. Carolina gold was pretty much mustard with a tiny BBQ kick. North Carolina sauce was hard to distinguish from the House one. But all very good. Still trying to nail down what the carolinas are with the sauces. I've been under the impression that South Carolina claims the mustard/gold style while both Carolinas claim the vinegar, and Maybe North Carolina has it's own sweet BBQ style? Idk Mac and Cheese is said to be "Creamy" and had some sprinkled shredded cheese on top. Not a complete cheese sauce and had a little bit of grit to it so it definitely was real cheese they used. Nothing bad but nothing great. Beans were very typical and looked like they might have put some pulled pork in there but the scoop I got didn't get any. So we went for lobster rolls and ended up having BBQ! Welcome to the post Covid World lol. That being said this was great surprise to find this place. The Mrs isn't really into BBQ so she had sides of Baked Beans which were fresh and amazing, potato salad with red skins still intact and a piece of corn bread. I on the other had had a half rack with sliced brisket. TI came with cornbread and two sides so I went with Twice Fried Fries and Creamy .Mac & Cheese. The cornbread was dense and fresh but not much flavor, the fries were hand cut and tested like normal fresh cut fries but the Mac & Cheese was really good. As far as the meats the St. Louis still had to replace the normal baby backs since they were out and the dry rub was good and the colors no and moisture were good. I will talk about the sauces separately. They were good on there own but man the sauce! The Brisket had the perfect smoke ring, texture and moisture level. Even though it was at the end of the night but enough about the meat let discuss the sauces. The Golden (Yellow Bottle) is a Carolina Mustard Sauce which isn't my cup of tea but I tired it with the ribs and if conflicted with the dry rub seasoning on the ribs. The Red Sauce (you guessed it Red bottle) is a North Carolina Vinegar based sauce that also seemed to conflict with the dry rub seasoning. The Next Sauce was the Juju in a Clear bottle and it was a Texas based sauce and this was at this point my favorite as it matched well with the dry rub seasoning on the rib. I then tired it on the brisket and it once again complemented the Smokey goodness of the brisket. The final sauce was the Blueberry Sauce in the Blue bottle. On both the ribs and brisket this amazing sauce blew everything else away. I'm normally a Texas Style BBQ fan and always Leary of BBQ outside of TX or TN but let me tell you this Blueberry sauce puts Maine BBQ on the board of my all time favorite places for the Q! If the waitress hadn't given me the half a pint of the sauce for my leftovers I would have acquired the beautiful blue bottle that this sauce from heaven is contained in. I would strongly recommend stopping here for BBQ and just go full out Maine and you won't be sorry. read more

Buck's has been there for birthdays, graduations, other life events, and even some bad first dates. Things I love: brisket burnt ends (they literally melt in your mouth), collard greens, potato salad (simple, no nonsense), beer, bbq sauces that you add yourself (the blueberry bbq sauce is amazing), huge portions = leftovers. Things I could live without: sometimes long waits to get seated (to be expected but still not my favorite thing), the children's indoor playground (noisy and distracting but again, I understand the significance), cornbread is not the best. It's been a long time since I dined in at Bucks Naked, but all of my previous meals were great. The thing that stands out the most in my mind were the catfish fingers appetizer. I had never had catfish before, and I thought they were wonderful! I hope they are still on the menu, because after the takeout we had this weekend, I plan on going to Bucks very soon! For Father's Day we decided to order the "Pig Out" and boy, did we ever! It came with two lbs each of pulled pork, beef brisket, a whole chicken, a lb of spicy sausage, two racks of ribs, cornbread, coleslaw, potato salad and beans. It says it's enough for 17-20 people but I'd say definitely more along the lines of 20! Everything was wonderful. I enjoyed the chicken, ribs and brisket the most. The cornbread was the perfect texture and the potato salad was great. I did not try the beans or coleslaw but everyone kept saying how good both were. I also did not try the sides of bbq sauce (since I never know what has apple cider vinegar in it) but again, everyone loved them all. It was $330 before tax, but more than well worth it.
