IMHO Today's visit to Buck's was great! First of all, we made a 3 p.m. reservation, which meant ample parking choices and an almost empty restaurant! We were given a comfy, cushioned booth by a front window for our party of four. We ladies asked for two orders of the Salmon Fish Tacos, $18, one order of the Heirloom Tomato B.L.T., served on soft rosemary focaccia, $18, and one order of the Pastrami Reuben, $18. The sandwiches come with fries, which you can sub out for sweet potato fries or salad for an additional $2, or fruit or onion rings for $3. I loved my BLT. Because the focaccia was soft, I didn't have to fight getting the sandwich in my mouth. It was yummy and delicious. I ate half of my generous portion and brought home the other half for dinner. Next time I hope to return for breakfast! I hear their coffee cake is a must-have!

This is an interesting and very eclectic restaurant! The decor consists of a wide range of interesting items on every wall and hanging from the ceiling. It is worth it just to wander the dining rooms and gawk at the things on display! The service is quick and friendly. The food is very good. This is a great place for an interesting lunch with a friend. I had the large bowl of chili with extra-extra cheese ($12). The chili was tasty and filling. There was a dollop of sour cream on top and also under the chili, which made for a great taste combination. One improvement would be to have less beans and more meat. My wife had the Double Smash Burger ($19), which was extremely thick with meat and very tasty. She also upgraded the fries to Sweet Potato fries ($2 extra), which were worth it. She kept raving over the great taste of her lunch!

I hated it!!!!!! Just kidding. It was fire!!!! Super good Blt and wings!!! Clean plate club!

My waitress was so kind and helpful. I ordered the short rib hash O my gosh It was absolutely delicious!! Tender, lean ribs, not a bit of fat ! The best brown gravy and soft perfectly roasted potatoes I had an over easy egg on top Spinach was incorporated in the dish and on the bottom was a delicious creamy sauce that took that gravy to the next level !!!! Fantastic!!

Buck's isn't just a restaurant -- it feels like a living piece of old California. After the elegance and quiet beauty of Filoli, Buck's was the perfect contrast: vibrant, eclectic, full of personality, history, and warmth. But what truly made the experience special was the people. The owner, the manager, the waitress -- everyone treated guests with genuine kindness and respect in a way that feels increasingly rare today. Not because someone has a big name, status, or influence. Simply because they are people and customers. That kind of atmosphere can't be faked or designed overnight. It only happens in places built over years by real human connection, conversation, and character.

Awesome restaurant open the fur breakfast lodge dinner in Woodside very busy on weekends with parking available in the lot. It's a real funky place almost a museum of all kinds of different things, including a display of the first Apple Computer, which was kind of cool. A great menu with all of the usual favorites for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Look, the dining is basic. Go gourmet food here. But the Ambiance!! In a fabulous location in Woodside with the walls filled with Silicon Valley history. Parking is terrible. Service is fine. But you're coming for the VIBE. A Soviet Era spacesuit? An Apple 1? Ancient household appliances? Yes, please. I love the AMD artifacts. Come for the museum, stay for the food.

Oh Bucks, such a landmark in woodside. We've been coming here for years. We had the opportunity to meet the owners a few years ago, and greatly admire their devotion and dedication to this restaurant. The ambiance speaks for itself, it's filled with so so so many amazing souvenirs that will keep you looking around while you dine. The best part, how they've managed to keep everything or clean and organized. The service is always very friendly. The waitress took our order and the food came out fairly quick. The food, not bad. I definitely prefer their dinner menu with the amazing burgers & milkshakes. We came in today for breakfast and it wasn't great. The "world famous coffee cake" just didn't hit the spot. Maybe it needs a sauce? More moist? I'm not sure, but it was not what I was expecting. Overall, we love and will continue to support our local neighborhood restaurant

Funny restaurant that's also a museum of odds and ends plastered all over the walls. Had a very respectable Cobb salad for lunch, and fresh brewed iced tea. Great place!

I've been to Buck's quite a few times over the years. I'm finally just getting around to writing a review for them now. I went for breakfast this morning with a couple of friends who were visiting for the weekend from Washington. First off, the decor. So dang cool. Beyond that, one of the employees today (I didn't catch her name) explained some of the history behind it to me. Apparently the big mural on the wall contains depictions within it of both the owners and people who they knew in the Woodside area when Buck's first opened back in the 90's. So cool!!!! I love to learn a little about the history of a place. It adds so much color and life to the place where I'm spending time with people who I (presumably) love. I know there's so much more history to this place... but I'll leave that for another reviewer or another time, because I don't want this review to get too long. Plus I don't know too much more about it yet. Lol! The food was delicious today. I got the "Big Buck", as shown in my picture. Just a delicious, filling, well-rounded all-American breakfast. Two eggs cooked how you like, bacon cuts, a couple pancakes, your choice of toast, and a small cup of fruit. Just good eating there, and I didn't get a big sugar or carbs hangover afterwards, to make the experience even better! If you're looking for coffee or pastries before or after you eat at Buck's, you can go right next door to the Village Bakery & Cafe. You looking for a place that feels like a diner out of the 90's, has an eclectic decor, nice open space, and invites you to hang out with your loved ones and have a good conversation without feeling rushed out the door? Try out Buck's. Best Kyle :)

    Nachos and BLT
    Michelle Z.

The food was alright- Chili tasted like a canned chili. BLT was okay. The nachos were redeeming- the chips were thick and crispy, and the toppings were generous and good. The service wasn't the best- kind of inattentive. Not that big of a deal. The real reason i'm giving this place a negative review was because of the bathrooms- super dirty and unclean. I've seen cleaner bathrooms at a truck stop. One of the worst bathrooms i've ever been in a restaurant. I was there for over an hour and my partner and i both went in separate stalls at differing times, and we both were baffled by the state of the bathrooms. Parking isn't the best.

Good basic burgers and fries. I come more for the decor than anything, and usually a good place to go after a long hike in Woodside.

We are wondering if you still have the little arcade room I've seen in one of your older photos?

Bucks has never had an arcade room, nor do they have one now.

Is their "Berry Crisp" the same dish as their "Berry Cobbler" from years ago?

    No it is bigger

Do they still have outdoor dinning?

Yes! I was just there over the weekend, and they still have the front patio setup with plenty of picnic table seating

    Open 11/26 for Thanksgiving?

Closed this year. Hope to be open for TG brunch next year!

Are you reopen for indoor dining yet?

    Yes we are

    It is open July 4th?

Yes, I was told it is open.

Regarding the food, the menu has lots of choices, so I decided to order the steak and eggs. But honestly quite disappointed. The steak was definitely overcooked and a bit tough. Also the sunny side up eggs, you can tell they pre-cooked it in bulk earlier--it turned cold already and the edges not crispy at all. If you just want the holiday vibe and looking for the one and only breakfast spot in this area, you can come try (or maybe because you have no other choice haha). Otherwise, I would rather drive a bit further to get a better breakfast somewhere else. Probably won't rush back anytime soon. 3 stars.
