Went in today with a car that could not accelerate over 4,000 RPM on a 6,000 RPM Redline and left with a rocket ship! My car would not even go up a hill. Lenny one of the mechanics was able to diagnose my problem, it was that c-converter and the fuel-filter. I swear they worked a miracle because I thought I was due for a new tranny. Buckys saved the day! Very friendly staff, and amazing customer service for an auto repair shop... Friendly smiles and not mean, rugged @$$hole shop guys that make you feel stupid. After years of having my vehicles serviced here I took my car in this morning to get the coupon special oil change done. The person in charge whom I thought to be the manager told me they didn't have time to do it today, and asked me if I had the coupon. I responded that yes I have the coupon. He then informed me that he could set up an appointment for me to have the work done. I asked about Monday and he said he could set me up and I asked for 8:30. He then advised me they don't accept coupons for appointments. Why didn't he tell me that to begin with? Obviiously to me this company either doesn't want or doesn't need my business. read more

So, I've been twice. Both times to get an oil change, which I got. Both times I needed additional services, which I hadn't expected. That's not so much a problem (comes with owning a vehicle). The problem is "strange" stuff that happened the two times I had my car serviced. The first time, when my truck was done, the mechanic drove out of the service bay to park right in front (which is a nice bit of customer service I'll admit) and hit the building with the front of my truck. To add insult to injury, I saw it happen and when he came inside with the paperwork and key, he didn't say a darn thing!!! Granted, there was no visible damage (I looked) but you gotta fess up when you do something like that. It's the professional thing to do. So, I let that go, I decided it wasn't such a huge deal and I wanted to give them another shot. Well, on that first visit the extra service I had was to have the tensioner belt and mechanism replaced. They did the job, but the part that was replaced was left sitting on top of the engine!!! I didn't find that out until this second time I went. The mechanic saw it and set it on the passenger seat. Didn't say anything about it, just set it there. So, when I picked up the truck, I saw it, went back indide to find out what it was and he said "oh yeah, whoever replaced your tensioner belt left that on top of the engine." I said "yeah, that was you guys!!!". HELLO!!! Needless to say, I'm not too impressed. It's a shame, because everybody there seems really nice and I would rather support a local business. But, I can't risk another "goof-up" the next time I need an oil change. read more

Used to trust this place & even liked the people there but after this hellish experience we will never return to any Buckys again!!!! pay a little more for the name, get your work done right the first time!!!! and make sure it is guarenteed no matter where you go incase of any problems!!! Here is our story: November 2011 1st went to Les Schwab to get the brakes done, they were metal to metal, making grinding noises along with dropping clunking sounds when parking. unfortunately our tires were shot too so they couldn't even take them off without us buying them there so we just got a ball park quote of the worse case scenario and went home and made calls. After talking to Buckys in Shoreline got a quote for the work which was a lot lower and they could get us in. We went there and since it was metal to metal we need to replace the rotors as well, still cheaper. They said the calipers should be replaced but they looked at them and said they can be saved to save us money. So we just got the pads, rotors & got tires next door while they were doing the work. Once they were done we were on our way $540.00 later but 2 days later it was still making noises & acting weird so we brought it back in, we were then told the calipers have to be replaced now and the new brake pads that were just put on are now shot and also need to be replaced, after making calls they were able to just give us the pads at no charge but we still had to pay the labor again for the pads & calipers. When they said before they can save the calipers we didn't realize it was only for a couple days! This cost us another $300.00, we left and came back again less than a month later, we were then told we needed to replace the stabilizer bar and that's where the dropping noise is coming from. So another $100.00 for the part & labor. All the noises that were supposed to go away never really did but we got tired of going back & forth to just keep having to fork out more & more $. In April we went to another place for some other service on the van and were told the stabilizer bar was missing bolts which is very dangerous so we had been driving around an unsafe vehicle because Buckys didn't install the part correctly. Less than a year later we are back to hearing the grinding noise so we take it to Les Schwab 1st after calling Buckys back and not really getting anywhere with them other than you can bring it back in but nothing was guarenteed & we didn't want to & couldn't keep putting more $ in to something we already paid through tghe ASS on!!!! Once again just like less than a year ago, we were back to metal on metal and not only were the pads shot but both rotors were toast too and needed to be replaced again. The mechanic looked over all the receipts & notes on the service (or lack of ) from Buckys, one thing they didn't understand is why the mileage isn't on each receipt, it was only on the very first one so no record of how many or how little of miles were put on between each visit with problems. the records were incomplete on every visit we made there! We ended up paying the higer price to just have Les Schwab replace everything correctly which we should have done in the first place, now we have a guarentee if there are any problems with the brakes, pads, rotors, tires anything in those areas they will look & replace or fix or whatever is needed for free!!!! that is their guarentee on their work!! We have since found an honest team @ Stingray automotive which is now our regular mechanic shop for any other issues that Les schwab doesn't do. The owner is Jason & he has a shop in Seattle & also Redmond. Went there to get my car looked at due to the fact that I failed my emissions test... Went in at 1:38pm, asked them how long it would take due to the fact that I had homework due that day and it was Valentines Day, He said that the tech just had to drive a car around and would be back in less then 30 mins and would be able to take a look at my car. Cool I didn't mind waiting for that, especially to talk with the guy who's going to be working on my beauty. 20 minutes later they said he was taking a look at it now and that it would only be a little while before I would know what exactly needed done on my car.... 2 hours later!! (wasn't he just taking a look at it for godsake!?) ... I finally, after countless other customers who came in after me, was told what was wrong and that he was looking up the prices of the parts where. Mind you, this only should take a couple minutes to look up information in a system right????... who knew that would take an extra 45 minutes.. WTBeep?? While the group of gentlemen who where supposedly working on my car and trying to find out what parts where needed where joking around with my paperwork right underneath them unnoticed... COME ON GUYS... NOT COOL MAN.... Once I finally got the pricing of how much it would be total and time, I went to starbucks to quickly try and finish my homework.. 5 minutes into the door of starbucks got a call from them saying my car was finished... REALLLLLYYYY!!!???? Needless to say, I waited an extra 2 hours simply because they forgot about me. B.S. Went in at 1:38pm, left at 4:40pm... Never again. Love this place - a car repair shop you can trust. I've gone there for a number of things. My latest experience was the best: a Goodyear dealership quoted me $3,400 saying I needed a new radiator, water pump and other stuff. Even though they were a bit of a drive, I went to Bucky's the next day. Didn't need the radiator or water pump. The bill? $800. That's just crazy - but a good kind of crazy. I used to get all our oil changes done there, along with misc repairs. The last time (over a year ago) I took in a car for an oil change they said the drain plug was stripped and may leak unless they made a repair. The thing is that THEY changed the oil the prior time so THEY must have been the ones to strip it, and now they wanted ME to pay for the repair. This was the first and the last time I ever come to Bucky's. I have better things to do than write bad reviews for businesses who shame themselves, so the fact that I'm writing this means they screwed up royally. The only reason why I came here was to have my car inspected for Uber. The girl before me was going to get charged $10 just to have her license plates replaced. Bucky's failed my car inspection because they claimed that my windshield wipers were really bad. Even though they were newly installedby the dealership I recently purchased my new vehicle from less than three months ago. Bucky's tried to scam me to pay them to have my perfectly fine windshield wipers replaced. I declined to do so and without changing my wipers, I went directly to Lyft's inspection and passed with flying colors. I then went to another designated Uber location for inspection and also passed. From what I hear Uber recently declined to extend their contract with Bucky's... Not surprising... read more

I took my car to Bucky's for a brake job and while I was waiting for my vehicle, the mechanic that had my vehicle up on the lift, was flirting with another customer for 45 minutes while I waited. The entire brake job took about 4 hours. Don't buy into the coupon deal of $49.95 unless you want to pay over $400 for a brake job. They listed things on the invoice that did not need to be done and they didn't even try to fix the problem. read more

I had them do a dual exhaust conversion on a lowered V6 mustang as i saw they had a special for free tips with the $140 special and figured ok what the hell ill do it and this was at the lynnwood shop, i watched as they cut the Y adaptor before the cats and put the passenger side exhaust pipe in and welded the new hangers. After 6 months I started hearing a metal noise noticing the right side tip moving around at the gas station, after looking under the car i saw that the far rear 2 hangers had broke so i called and took it back immediately and they had fixed it within 5 minutes which i thought was cool HA! The next 2 days I started hearing an exhaust leak and the next morning the exhaust manifold cracked and seperated running open headed. I took it back with my own replacement manifold and they told me $40 bolt on no warranty or $160 with their part and lifetime warrenty and i said ok just bolt mine on. After seeing it "fixed" the right side tip was aimed lower than the left not level with the other side and they didnt clean up the weld and just left the nice chunk of steel and added to it. My wife took our old 1996 Ford Explorer ( it's our utility car mostly used to haul stuff to the dump or going to Home Depot) and Had the brakes completely redone a little over a year ago, at the time I was pissed she spent 800 bucks on brakes. Any way, Yesterday we almost died getting off 405 at 128th street going to the i laws when the front brake housing sheared off from what looks like bolts that were hand tightened. The only reason we stopped was the brake housing jammed into the gears on the axle. Can't prove it was them but no one else has touched those brakes, Those 800 brakes for a car worth maybe 1000 bucks. I've never seen brake pads with so many gouges! read more

I would not even give them one star. They advertise a 15.95 oil change but when you go in there you will end up paying not less than 20, if you are lucky. I dropped off my car and the initial estimated was 30 bucks. I sucked it up since I needed to have it done. It was a Saturday and not very busy, so they said it would be done fairly quickly. I left the car and came back two hours later, car in the same spot. When I told them I was there to pick it up, they said they were just ready to roll it in and it would be another twenty!!! I took my keys and left!! Big O tires on Aurora is much better with honest, friendly service. These guys have nickled and dimed other people I know including a routine 3-5 bucks for "topping off fluids" even though it is not asked for. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!! read more

A couple of years ago, I had been a regular customer at Bucky's and was pretty happy there. I'd been taking my car to someone else for the last two years, but decided to go back. I dropped my car off for a standard oil change, and four hours later received a call from Bucky's. The man on the phone informed me that, while my car was in good shape, my alternator was going out and would need to be replaced. He told me that I also needed a new battery, and that my front differential was going out. And according to him, all of it needed to be done immediately, since my car was due to die any day. I was immediately suspicious because my car is a 2006 and I've taken very good care of it (family full of mechanics). I ran the situation by a friend, and he agreed that I should get a second opinion. I did so, and the dealership near my home informed me that my alternator was running at near-optimal levels, my battery is fine, and my front differential is also fine. Bucky's quoted me $600 for the alternator and battery, which did not need to be replaced, so I will never return there again and I recommend you avoid it as well. read more

Honestly, I would select zero stars if I could. The first time I came to this shop they stripped the head of the bolts for my hub assemblies. When I came back to inquire about this the manager shrugged me off. I ended up buying all new hub bolts at the dealership and had another shop install them. The second and last time I came to buckys, I had my brakes replaced, calipers, pads and rotors. Within no time my truck started to violently pull to the right every time I applied the brakes. I took my truck back into the shop to have them check it. Buckys looked at it for five minutes and blamed it on miscellaneous steering components. I brought my truck home, put it on jackstands, took the brakes apart myself and found that the caliper bolts were sticking. My brand-new pads were wearing unevenly due to their shotty work. It makes me sick to my stomach that this is supposed to be a reputable shop and they can't even warrantee their own mistakes. Thanks again Bucky's.... I love paying for work twice.... this shop is a joke. Don't ever take your vehicle to them. Sidenote they damaged my truck pulling out of the shop by running it into the garage wall. I witnessed them do this. Instead of trying to rectify the damage, the employee pulled out cash expecting that to make it all better. Absolute garbage workmanship. read more

This place is a joke. I bought a deal for a winter maintenance package. It was supposed to include an oil change, tire rotation, brake inspection, top off fluids, and overall vehicle inspection. I picked up my car and the guys at the front give me a receipt. I ask him if I am going to get a report or checklist of the items they checks to show what was completed and what they found. He replied" no sorry we don't provide that, we will just tell you if there is something wrong." He said there was nothing to report. I thought that was odd because I am in need of new tires and new brakes. When I got home I took a look under the hood only to see that the anti-freeze and wiper fluid were both untouched from where they were when I dropped off the car, both of which were low. At this point I am not confident that they even changed my oil. Whatever you do, avoid this place! I guess the only positive is they didn't try and sell me on a bunch of stuff! I had Bucky's do the $13.95 oil that is now $15.95. They convinced me to add the $5.00 fluid check and ended up being around $25.00 Well it wasn't until I had a business trip that I had to drive 2000 miles for, and the steering started to act funny, that I noticed they hadn't checked anything. When I stopped at O'Reilly's, the sales person said I could have air bubbles in the line if the steering fluid was low. Well it only looked like it was about an inch low. But once I started pouring in the $5.00 quart of fluid, it started to sink and didn't fill until I had poured half of it in. The windshield wiper reservoir was 3/4 empty also. ( I didn't refill it.) I decided to give Bucky's another chance. My husband took the car back and told them about it. The manager said that she'd make sure they did it right this time. My husband asked how much is an oil change and she told him we've gone up a little, $28.42 with tax. Well, he didn't have time to go somewhere else, she didn't tell him she was charging for a top off check. They did do it correctly this time, which is why I'm giving them 2 stars. They didn't refund the $5.00 charge for work not performed or give a discount for future work. She did admit it took a lot of wiper fluid to fill and said if we had come in right away, they would have rechecked the fluids. That only works if you realize the problem right away. I was hoping to use them for more services and it does seen like if the manager is checking that work is done, it will be completed. I'll change the rating if it is warranted. I'm surprised this happened, and I'm uncomfortable knowing I can't trust them. I don't even know if they really changed my oil the first time. I waited to write this review until the car was brought back in case it was a fluke, but they are acting like I have a steering fluid leak, when other fluid levels clearly were never checked. All I can say is that the steering fluid hasn't dropped since the one time I filled it several weeks ago. read more

Terrible! I will not go back here ever again.I had my Honda towed to Bucky's after it wouldn't start. They were one of few places open on Saturday " Doug"from Bucky's called me to state that the problem was definitely the spark plug and valves that needed to be replaced.He assured me that if I let them replace those, for $360.00 ,the problem would be fixed. I thought that was extremely pricey, but agreed since he had also mentioned I would have to pay them a diagnostic fee of $49.95 if I chose to take the car elsewhere for the repair. This fee would be waived if I let them proceed. When I got to the shop, he stated that they found a different problem, the distributor,which was going to need replacing for an additional $200.00 He said a new distributor would be needed before the car would be operable. I was furious. He had guarantee that valve and spark plug repair were all that was needed. Now there is a new issue? One they didn't bother to notify me about until I was there to pick up the car? He said the $200.00 was just the cost of the distributor, and he was waving the labor cost. He then called AutoZone on speaker phone to ask them what a distributor cost. He said he was doing this to show me he was honest. The clerk at AutoZone said $160 bucks. Then Doug laughs and says" okay so I lied a little". I could not bring myself to cough up another $200.00. I called AAA and had them take the car to my regular mechanic. Sure I loose the convenience of a Saturday repair. But it was more about the deception I was feeling.I lost the $360.00 for the repair, still had to have my car towed elsewhere for more work The receipt showed the total charge of $393.00 included $134.93 for 1.5 hours of labor. I have NO confidence in Bucky's and will NOT return again.I wish I could give no stars! read more

I was impressed with Bucky's for their thorough appraisal of my car for forward looking maintenance. But I was sorely disappointed when I came in a panic with a real "what to do problem" That's when you depend on you local mechanic to be at his most professional. Instead I was treated like a mark. I drove 15 miles blowing white smoke before and when pulling into the shop. Driving up like that it was obvious that the car had a serious problem. I suspected a blown head gasket but of yet didn't have the proverbial milky oil on the dip stick. So my hope was some other ancillary water system problem was at fault. What I should have done was driven straight home instead of straight to Buckys I would have saved myself 250 dollars and ( most of it spent on a new thermostat and a recharging of ant freeze ) I later tested the replaced thermostat and it still worked What gets me why not run plain water ( why fill the car with expensive coolant only to later be told when trouble shooting the car that yes you have a blown head gasket). The explanation for the new thermostat was the car was overheating. The thermostat was replaced because a piece of the head gasket was preventing it from closing . so okay pull out the piece of gasket material and put it back in. I was given the bad news the next day that yes you will need a new head gasket. I went to retrieve my car and the battery was dead. I waited two hours from first call in the morning for them to get back to me. You would think in that much time they could have charged the battery. They could have had the car ready to leave. What truly toasted me was the rye remark of the mechanic " if you drive the car for twenty minuets the battery will be fully charged". Either they are clueless or just rude there wasn't twenty minutes of life to that engine. Caveat emptor: Ask for a quote from them before agreeing to let them touch your car. read more

Thank you for helping me. Your service was unbeatable. I started coming to you when I recieved a coupon in the mail for a 13.95 oil change. My truck broke down last week and when I called, you offered my free towing. I have had my work truck at two shops prior to yours and spent money on uneccecary repairs. You warned me up front that electrical was 89.00 an hour and sometimes you find it quick and sometimes it takes hours. My first thought was here we go again. As my Vehicle sat at your place all day I was sure to see a huge bill. When you called with diagnosis that the ground conection was dirty lets replace the cable and told me my bill would be 1 hours labor and 30 minutes repair and of course a 25.00 cable I said okay. My car has had no troublefor a little over a week and it use to not start every other try. I will definatley be letting everyone know about you. While working at buckys I was appalled. Id say 50% if not more of there profits are from customers being lied to!...seen it thy sell you an engine sayin your timing belt broke...or sell you services and not do them...ya I'm sure the previous guy got great deal on his service probably it wasn't done. Day and night plumbing I seen them get ripped off by the lies that never seems to be the right fix. Town and country building company got there hybrid car done there it ended up at the dealer after breaking down I don't think there coolant was flushed but thy paid for it as well as there tranny issues from buckys techs touching it..if you want to pay for poor diagnosis find a homeless guy that needs food you may get it done right...thy also yelp themselves to look better ....ya if my company was all bout stealing with lies and services sold but not getting done I'd get friends or family to post good ratings ya there's always few that gets the obvious fixes dne right , but I wouldn't take my moms car here!!!!!!
