Total ripoff--stay away. I had to fight just to get them to honor a coupon from their own website, and it went downhill from there. Dishonest Upselling: They claimed I needed $300 in brake work; a specialized brake shop later confirmed my brakes are perfectly fine. Unnecessary Parts: They tried to replace an air filter that was only 6 months old. Incompetence/Damage: They damaged my hood latch, and once I finally got it open, I discovered they had left the coolant system cap off. This isn't just bad service; it's predatory and negligent. In 7 months the management changed 3 to 4 times which turns into a hit-or-miss quality of service. The last service that I had was okay (just a few days ago) but I was not impressed about the inspection results. Their technician pointed out some problem with the brake fluid being dark when the brake fluid was flushed and replace 6 months ago. It is obvious that the fluid looked clean and newly replaced. I noticed that they did not measure the brakes' usage (usually reported in millimeters), at least I cannot see it on the car inspection report. I am not sure I would recommend this car center to a friend or, at least, I would share some of my concerns. read more

NEVER COME HERE! I came here about a month ago to get a diagnosis on a clicking noise I was hearing when turning left. These people charged me $200+ to tell me they didnt know what the sound was and that my axel boots looked perfect. they also told me about an oil leak (that I had already known about) and told me they also did not know where that was coming from and to come back for a dye test which would be $500. I took my car to Bay Masters DIY Garage and looked at everything myself. easy diagnosis; first of all my boots WERE NOT FINE. both alxel boots on the passenger side are damaged and out of grease this the clicking noise. Secondly my passenger side valve cover gasket is blown out and needs to be replaced. Oh and finally, my oil filter was maaaaad loose and they didn't even catch that. all these fixes I'll do myself for about $300 and they wanted to charge me $500 to TRY to find the leak with a dye test. scammers and their worst. what a joke. I feel like every time I come here they've always found something else wrong with my car. I'll come for one thing and always get "oh by the way, you need blah blah blah..." After like the third time we were trying to guess what it would be that I need. And I feel like the prices are too high at this point. I had a very pleasant experience today at the Edmonds Meineke, after moving up to the area. I had, in previous years, gone to the Soto location and had a positive experience there, so wanted to stick with Meineke. Any delays in service (just a short extra wait) was communicated empathetically and timely. I stayed on site while the technician Hunter performed the inspection and oil change. Justin, at the front desk, was so friendly to chat with! He talked me through all the work going on and details about the inspection. He was transparent about work which may need to be done in the future while also pointing out other work which is not necessary at the moment. (Which by the way, made me realize how a separate car dealer wasn't fully straightforward with me) I also saw how he worked with other customers while I was waiting and could tell he was going above and beyond to procure parts, explain the steps techs needed to take to finish the work, and set expectations on car pickup and drop off very transparently. He was very professional and made every one feel like they were in good hands. I look forward to coming back for my future car maintenance needs. read more

While on vacation( 1900 miles from home), my transmission went out. This shop was in my warranty network, upon dropping it off, I was told no issue they could handle all work that was needed. After 34 days of them having it, claim approved with warranty, numerous lies from the shop "manager" Tate. They called the warranty company and said they could no longer do the repairs, Tate told me that 2 days prior that they were almost done with the transmission repair. I had my car towed to a different shop, which told me 2 of the 3 major repairs this shop was saying was needed, were in fact not needed at all. It was also noted that they attempted to put an additive in the transmission, other shop said it would have been a bandaid if it had worked. I would avoid this shop at all cost!!! read more

I've been coming here for years, and I've been trying to convince myself the last few visits were one-off terrible experiences, but honestly? I can't justify it anymore. I'll start by saying I have the highest respect for the guys actually working on my car in the back. I've never had any problems, repairs and services have always been good (with one exception that was fixed immediately upon letting them know of the issue.) However, I've never had a shop act so uninterested in having my business. The last visit was the final straw, where I received a condescending attitude for everything from the day of the week I chose to have my service done, inquiring about using my points (and then not even having the right points/service done!), being told I don't deserve to be told what other services I might be due for because I've declined them before (when the last few times, I've been told NOTHING of other services I need, and I can't accept or decline what I'm not informed of), and more. You hear all the time about mechanics trying to upsell you, but this is quite literally the opposite - I asked for a quote on an oil leak I have, and it was like pulling teeth to even get him to agree to ask the mechanic to look at it! I've been loyal for a long time, but enough is enough. I'll be looking for a shop that actually communicates what my car needs, and doesn't act like I'm the asshole for bringing my business there. read more

These guys are great! Had an issue with a repair they completed that was not their fault. It turned out to be a faulty part. The regional manager called me after hours, apologized, then met me at the store personally, inspected the car himself, and got it fixed for me. He even drove me to work. Took my car here for a coolant leak because my usual place (and everyone else) was booking several weeks out. They did an inspection and also said I needed a new heater core. They said they'd have it all done in a few days but had to special order the parts. A few days later they called and said the parts had turned out to be defective & they needed to reorder them. When I called for an update a few days later, they said that those parts had been defective as well (what are the odds??) and they were waiting on replacements for the replacements. At this point I should have just canceled the service but ignored my gut feeling. After about a week I finally picked up my car. They gave me a 10% discount for the delay, which I did appreciate, and the heat was finally working! At this point I was just happy to finally have my car back, but the next night my entire dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree as I was driving home. There was no way I was going back to these guys, so I took my car to the dealership first thing the next morning. They discovered that the lower radiator hose was completely disconnected & there was no coolant anywhere in the system. No idea how that could have been missed, and the guys at the dealership said it was lucky that I brought it right in because if I had driven it any further my engine probably would have been toast. They replaced the coolant reservoir (which apparently was also bad) and flushed the system, and when all was said and done it ended up being a $2,000 ordeal. I don't recommend going to this place for anything other than an oil change, and maybe even think twice about doing that. read more

Brought my car here after receiving what felt like an opportunistic $1500 brake diagnosis from a local shop in Shoreline. Tate was extremely professional,and Hunter very thorough, and it turned out that the original diagnosis was bogus. Not only did these guys save me from being ripped off, they also alerted me to REAL, TIME SENSITIVE maintenance issues that I needed to know about (which the other shop DID NOT DO!) Had a really great experience last week at this location. My battery had died the morning of my appointment for an oil change and brake inspection; Tate I think!) let me know I could get a free tow within 5 miles of a meineke location through their membership services! They hooked me up with a battery and then pretty much saved my life with a brake repair. They found a bunch of other issues on my truck and told me what I should keep an eye on, but didn't push me to purchase extra services. This Meineke's priority is giving friendly service while making sure you stay safe on the road! read more

I am very upset with this place. Every time I go here, they never charge to look at my car. They told me I needed a new radiator and it would cost me $800. I proceeded to tell them no because I could not afford that and they seemed to be pretty upset that I didn't want them to fix it. So then they said my total will be $50 since they looked at it. Just because I am a women they decided to scam me. I am so upset! Then later I had my dad look at the car and he said my radiator is just fine. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE! Hands down one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any business. I got my car serviced for an oil and brake fluid change on 12/31/2020, and called beforehand to get a verbal quote of how much it would be. That verbal quote was in the ballpark of $100-$200 (max), which beat the Honda dealership's quote of ~$300. It took about three hours for these services to be completed. I was verbally asked by manager Wade if I wanted my air filter changed out as it was dirty and needed to be replaced, which I responded yes to (assuming the price wouldn't be significantly different and assuming I could trust that it did indeed need to be changed out). At the end, I was told my total was ~$500 and upon hearing that, I was upset, and Wade then offered me a $50 discount. I was still stunned by the total, but paid and left and processed the situation afterward. I was charged $171.88 for "fuel/emissions and fuel injection service/JB emissions system cleaner" which I never consented to. With the $50 discount, my final payment was $468.92. Looking back, I absolutely wish I went to the Honda dealership (I have a Honda 2018 CRV with 20,000 miles). I went back to the Mieneke Car Care Center to try and work something out with the manager Wade and it was unsuccessful. He told me he had asked me about the fuel/emissions and fuel injection service that I was charged for even though I know I was never asked. I have called customer service 3 times now, and they even closed my case after stating they tried to reach me three times (which I do not have evidence of). The resolution they suggested originally was to go back to the business and work it out (which I already did). Long story short, I will never go back to another Meineke Car Care Center again because of this single experience and neither will my close friends or relatives. I feel as if the customer care number is there to make customers feel like they are being heard with no plans whatsoever to fix whatever the issue is. I have learned from this experience to always get quotes in writing and do not accept any additional services unless you have a quote for that in writing as well. Meineke unfortunately does not value honesty in their business, and specifically the manager Wade at this location who told me he asked me about a service that I was charged for when I know he did not. I write this review in hopes that businesses like this one will lose potential customers and perhaps then, they can actually make changes needed to ensure every customer is treated fairly and transactions are upfront and honest. I look forward to supporting other car service centers that value honesty and are respectful of my time. read more

I bought a Catalytic Converter from them and had them install it, They charged me a lot extra to remove the dual catalytic converter manifold and the crossmember, in order to properly weld it all together properly, so I wouldn't have exhaust leaks.I had this done so I can drive across America 2600 miles pulling a trailer and wanted it perfect and ready. Starting in Washington State. Well in the middle of Missouri, during a gas up, I noticed a loud exhaust leak coming from the side I just had Meineke repair., So after finding a place to roll under and check it out, I see the weld is broken with holes and thats because it was welded by a 3 yr old apparently atleast thats what it looks like. This is the worst chickenscratch weld Ive ever seen. I showed my certified welding friend and he has only seen these welds in beginner weld class in middle school. I took photos of it and its bad. Keep in mind I paid extra for this to be all done properly and it turns out they didn't even weld all the way around on either side of the Catalytic converter, because they didn't take off the pipe like they said they would and charged me for, No bolts were ever undone and any of it from what I can tell. read more

Review based on service as well as COVID-19 compliance and standards. This shop seems to take advantage and try to make as much money as possible by advising services that are not needed. Employees were not wearing masks, including the man checking in customers at the front desk. The business was also not requiring customers to wear a mask, as some were not. They had a sign up about the state mask mandate, but were not following. There were also no visible safety standards taking place, and the man at the front desk was licking his fingers to separate pages of the estimate, and then touched the pen to give to me to sign. When it comes to the service, I would not recommend this place. I am in the need of new brake pads, and went here for an additional quote in addition to one I received from a different business. This shop gave me a quote opposite of what the other shop gave me (telling me my front brakes were low, when the other shop told me my rear brakes were) and also gave different measurements of the pads than the other shop. The other shop also indicated my rotors were fine, yet this shop told me they were not. Finally, I was quoted $750 over the phone, declined the service, and when I went in to pick up my car, all of a sudden the quote was at $950 with nothing changed. read more

He makes excuses and so unprofessional. There was a reason I was told not to go there! Before I even start writing this review. I would like to say that there customer service is 99.9% almost prefect! I made an appointment to check on my brake pad because I'm thinking it's time to take a look into them! I set my appointment for 8am but I came late and they are cool about it. The guy who helped me and work on my part his name is "Will's" really cool and socialize that's a plus! They are really fast pace working and checking my parts. Took them less 10 mins to figure out what's going on with my brakes. But I'm sure even they are fast pace environment, they are professional. So I have to replace two of my front rotors and brake pads. After estimating the part and labor for my service. It came out to a pretty decent price I guess. However, Will's he still offered me some additional discounts. I mean everyone likes discount, I wouldn't decline the offer. But overall Will's and his team did a excellent job to me. read more

All of my experiences here have been sub-par -- even worse than at rival Jiffy Lube. The first time I visited this location, I scheduled an appointment for an oil change. Upon arrival, the man (Joe) informed me that there would be a 2+ hour wait. I inquired about the use of making appointments if they are not honored, to which he gave a short and rude reply about having more important customers. As for the important customers, it's probably these: This place offers cheap oil changes to lure you in, then tries to find problems with your car. They usually identify major brake problems, often indicating that all brake parts - caliper, pads, and rotors - need replacement on both the front and rear -- a repair they charge upwards of over $2,000 for! On both occasions I have been in this shop, I have seen the uninformed fall victim to their "knowledge" and submit to the repairs without much question. Aside from the rude man (Joe) running this operation and their suggesting every repair under the sun (similar to, but not as bad as Jiffy Lube), they cannot even do an oil change correctly. My car was not leaking oil before coming into this shop, and it began leaking an obscene amount of oil right after getting it home. They likely didn't tighten the oil pan correctly. When confronted about the issue, they did not take responsibility for it, and instead said it was probably "wear and tear." Do not go here, even though they roll out cheap Groupon deals and it may be convenient. read more

Came in to have my breaks done, paid $1400... left with squealing breaks and assured that it was normal and temporary; this lasted for months until there was a grinding sound and feeling in my breaks, so I took my car back.. they redid the breaks and rotors, bled the line etc... but made me pay over 1 thousand dollars again! And again... my breaks are grinding, squealing and now when I turn it sounds like a roller coaster ride with the clicking! Wasted money and time at this place! When I moved here in 2014, there were different employees there than there is now, and those first ones I dealt with would tell me things were wrong with my car. Then we'd save up to fix whatever it was, go back, there would be a new employee telling us different things were wrong. One time, we went back to get the "problems" fixed, and this new set of employees and a new manager were there. They put my car on the lift and showed me and my husband that there were no "problems" like we had been told by the previous employees. They apologized profusely and said that this wasn't the first time they were cleaning up the mess created by the previous employees. Been going back every 3 months for oil changes ever since! I seriously contemplate driving back into Edmonds for my oil changes after we move. I work nights, so I love that I can drop my car off on my way home in the morning, sleep all day, and pick it up in the evening. Even when I don't read the fine print on their coupons (ex: their first ever Cyber Monday deal), they always let me have whatever the discount is--probably cuz they know I'm not too sharp after 6 night shifts in a row! I brought my car to Meineke in Edmonds, WA because it was having rattling sounds when driving over bumps. After they inspect my car, an employee named Jack tells me that the issue is I need to replace both of the upper control arms. I agree for the repairs to be done and leave my car there.  Later that afternoon I receive a call from Jack that the job was done. So I pay the bill and drive my car about half a mile when in I notice that the rattling sound is still there. I drive my car back to the shop to tell them that that it was still rattling. They then proceed to inspect my car again, and Jack tells me that I need to replace the 2 front strut mounts. I agree to have them replace the strut mounts and leave my car with them the next morning. In the afternoon I receive a call from Jack and he tells me that he ordered 3 different strut mounts from 3 different suppliers and none of them fit my car. He proceeds to tell me that they even tried to "jimmy rig" one of the mounts onto one of my struts and was unsuccessful. That immediately made me nervous as to why they would do such a thing. Jack then tells me that I need to find the strut mounts myself, as they've exhausted all their resources, and that I could pick up my car. When I arrive at the shop, the mechanics are still working on my car, but now they are trying to get my air suspension to rise properly. I continue to wait 15 minutes past their closing time and Jack finally tells me that they can't figure it out and that I should bring my car back in the next day. He then tells me that I need to pay for the labor for trying to replace a strut mount that was not even the right part for my car. I ask to speak with the owner, Wade, and proceed to explain to him the situation. He then tells me I don't have to pay for any labor. He also tells Jack that he has never heard of anyone replacing just the mount. Jack then gets mad and starts cussing telling me to just take my #&^%effing car. So the next morning I take my car to the shop expecting them to fix the air suspension problem that they had caused, and the owner Wade, with an angry demeanor, tells me that they didn't cause the issue and they were not going to try to fix it without me paying for it. I tell him that Jack had told me that he tried to jimmy rig one of the mounts onto one of my struts and that could've damaged the strut resulting in my air suspension failure. He then angrily states that Jack didn't say that, as if he was there when we had the conversation over the phone. Really? So I take my car to have it inspected at another shop and they tell me that whoever worked on my car had broken my strut. I also find out from multiple other mechanics that you cannot just replace the mount on my car's type of air strut. I scoured the internet and that part does not even exist. That's why all 3 mounts that they ordered were not compatible. Not only did they not fix the problem I originally went in there for, but they damaged my vehicle and refused to make it right. read more

I went in for an oil change with a Groupon, only to find a sign on premise saying this location doesn't not accept Groupon. I was dismayed because 1. nowhere on the Groupon's website mentioned that this location was excluded. In fact, one had to pick a specific Meineke location in a drop down list while purchasing the Groupon, and this location was on the list! If this location's owner decided to opt out, then they should've notified Meineke corporate and/or Groupon. 2. I drove quite a distance from Seattle to check out this place but I could've easily chosen to go elsewhere much closer. I ended up paying more than 2x of what I paid for the Groupon so they would do the oil change for me, or else I would've gone home in vain, argh. Can't comment much on the quality of work as it was just a simple oil change. But probably won't go back there for the lukewarm customer service. read more

Went in for an oil change, and did not put new filter on my Audi Q5, resulting in oil leaking all over my engine top to bottom for 2 weeks. Costing me an extra $150 in repairs. Oh; and they also stole the splash guard off the bottom of my car, and refuse to refund me my money or replace the part stolen from my car. The manager running the place at the time was also let go shortly after for misconduct, and customer service hasn't followed up in 4 months. What a trash company. I brought in a 2009 Chevy Aveo that had been sitting for 2 years. The car was never driven much: Has 23,000 miles. After initial inspection, I was told the work to flush fluids, replace small parts, etc., would be $1,500. The next day I was told a new throttle body would have to be installed. When I arrived to pick up car, the bill had increased to $2,995. Double the price for a new throttle body? Manager knew I wanted to have the car finished in time to give to my daughter for her 17th birthday. When I complained about doubling the bill, he immediately reduced the price by $500. So, the new throttle body cost $1,000. A capricious price gouge? Yep, but at the cost of a repeat customer. Short term gain versus long-term loyalty is bad business. Avoid at all cost. read more

Don't bring your car here. I had an oil change yesterday 8/10/22, and told them also the I needed a them to change a stop bulb ( I brought my own bulb) and I also needed a wiper for the back . My total bill was more than $300 for labor and cost. I found out that I needed an arm for the wiper and decided to return the wiper but they wouldn't accept the return as they said they already charged it. You know what they charged me for the wiper? $65.00. They charged me for $50 for labor for replacing the stop bulb. I had to go back as they didn't put a sticker on my car and had to tell them to reset the mileage so I know when to change the oil. These guys are great! Great service on any car problems! They seem very knowledgeable when it comes at any question regarding any type of repair. The mechanics are super personable as well, sometimes taking you back in their garage to show you what problem your car is having and what they are doing/what they can do to fix it. Months ago I had my car engine totally replaced. Long story short, when I got the car back, there were some problems. Took it back to Meineke and they fixed the issue super fast. I live down the street from their location, and 15 minutes after I got home, they called to say it was ready (when I only have a 5 minute walk to get to my house). Only thing I wish they could improve on is wait times, but I totally understand that sometimes that isn't always in their control as they have lots of appointments day after day. read more

We have taken our vehicles to this location for years now. We have pick ups, a work truck with a hydronic lift, and a older model Mercedes. We used to have a Honda Accord. They have helped us with ALL of the service needs for these vehicles over many years. Wade and his team (a special shout out to Juan one of the techs, as he is very knowledgeable and provides excellent care of our vehicles) are dedicated, fair and provide excellent customer service! At the end of December 2017, my car broke down as I was driving it. Had to get it towed and I wanted it to go to a shop near my home. My '07 car was in bad shape and the job to fix it was a large one and took about a week to complete. During this time I was kept updated on progress as often as I liked by shop staff including Brock and Jack. This was helpful, and reassuring. In person and over the phone the manner of the shop is welcoming and professional, and their communication is straightforward and efficient. If your car is having trouble, give these guys a call, they were great to work with. Edit - Febuary 2018: I've had my car back for about 2 months now and it's running well. No complaints. But, I wanted to add that during the time of this job there was confusion between then current management, myself, and the invoice. The amount withdrawn from my bank account was greater than the amount printed on my invoice due to a temporary withdrawal. During this time, then current management was slow to keeping the withdrawal temporary, but midway through this confusion management changed, and Jack took point. Not only did Jack remember my situation but he addressed and undid the confusion timely. The amount withdrawn from my bank account and the amount printed on my invoice now match. Went in to have tires installed. The work was done competently and at a good price. However, when they called to report the car was done, it was the ol' "tech happened to notice your brake pads are down to 3 mm." Started quoting me for pads, rotors, counting up to hundreds of dollars. Unfortunately for them, I've spent a lifetime doing my own car work and had just put new pads on six months ago. Still, I pulled the wheels off to make sure there wasn't a bad caliper or something that had caused rapid wear -- nope. Pads are still almost-new thickness on both sides. There's a reason brakes are the most commonly used job to fraudulently upsell unsuspecting customers: they're quick and easy to do and the parts are cheap. I can't say for sure whether this was intentional dishonesty or an error, but either way, I wonder how many people are getting $500 brake jobs they don't need at this shop... read more

As a Veteran, I was excited to see that Meineke was offering free basic oil changes for Veterans Day. I made my appointment and specified the service and that I wanted the Veterans Day special. Showed up a few minutes early and it looked dead, I thought that was great and it wouldn't take long. I went into the office, and one of the three guys standing around outside chatting came in to see why I was bothering them. Told him I had an appointment and... he stopped me and said, "our special today is for Veterans but it will take 4-5 hours to do since we are so backed up.." Backed up? You were just standing around chatting with your buddies outside doing nothing. I asked why someone didn't notify me, and he just stood there chewing his gum staring at me. read more
