Visited here on a Saturday morning with my hubby and my son and his family. There was a total of 7 of us. Buddies is rather small inside, but they can definitely accommodate you comfortably. Like most all the reviews mentioned, the staff here is very friendly and welcoming. I had the pistachio hot latte with the marshmallow rim. It was delicious and like a warm hug. We all had the bacon, eggs, potato, and pancake breakfast. It was very tasty and was served on a rectangular plate - reminiscent of cafeteria style. I wanted to try a bakery goodie but I was just too full. The atmosphere is very pleasant and very clean. I will definitely visit next chance I get. Just know this is not a diner type food & atmosphere. It's more along the lines of the restaurant, Keik, if you're familiar with that. read more

This bakery maybe small but their coffee is bold and the food is big on flavor. Love the design of this place. It's modern and airy and has enough seating for its size. As you walk to the counter, you'll be enticed by a glass display featuring sandwiches, pastries, cookies, desserts, and the tastiest empanadas. And don't forget their homemade alfajores. They offer different flavors! We started with their iced coffee drinks and we could tell they used quality beans. Then we ordered the Proscuitto and Swiss and BLT sandwiches. They were both very. We also tried the Salmon Bagel Sandwich which was also yummy. But we were very impressed with their empanadas. They served them piping and they're not stingy with the fillings. The beef was meaty. The spinach was cheesy and flavorful. And we love the Cubano one. It's basically an empanada version of a Cuban sandwich. So good. As for sweets, we both got the original Alfajores. OMG. They were sinfully good. You could tell they were fresh and had not been sitting in the fridge. Also loved the Chocolate Cake. It was to die for. I highly recommend this bakery. It's very relaxing. My favorite spot to get some work done in the Cooper City area. Ella Cafe used to be located near here and although I was super sad that closed down, I'm glad Buddies Bakery was added to the area. The inside is welcoming and beautiful with ample seating and a great variety on their menu for bites and drinks. I always order the matcha latte here and a bite to eat. It was my first time coming here and I was really impressed with the food, portion size and variety. The matcha was on the lighter side and I wish it was more matcha forward. The pistachio latte is coffee forward but they do coat the rim with pistachio cream, we wished they would have added pistachio syrup. Will be coming back to try more items! read more

Buddies Bakers has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. The owner will remember you and you will feel like you are taken care of. I have ordered iced or hot coffee from Buddie's they have been delicious. We get lucky from time to time to get one dessert and get the other for free so it is worth trying everything if you can. I recently ordered their salmon lox bagel with red onions, mixed greens, cream cheese, and I asked to hold the capers. The bagel tasted fresh and the ingredients exceeded my expectations. I NEED TO COME BACK! My fiancé and I wanted to start our Sunday with coffee and pastries. He found this spot on his Yelp search and I'm so happy he stumbled upon this great find! The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly face and I immediately fell in love with the clean and minimal aesthetic. The moment we got to the front, we saw the yummiest desserts and pastries. IT WAS SO HARD TO CHOOSE! But it helped to have free samples of scones by the register hehe We originally wanted the guava + cheese empanada, Cuban empanada, and passion fruit cheesecake. We ended up scrapping the original idea and went for the Bakery Box and a White Chocolate Cranberry scone. We also ordered the Soursop Mousse BUT we didn't realize til we got home that we didn't get it. However, the kind man had snuck in an Apple Cinnamon scone and Blueberry scone in our order so it wasn't a total loss! The scones were so soft and thick. One of my peeves are hard and dry scones. But this was the perfect firmness for all of them! The only criticism I would have is that I hope they're all the same size. The Apple Cinnamon is the biggest and Blueberry was the smallest. Price-wise, I'd think it'll be unfair to charge someone the same price when they vary in size. The Bakery Box is a great sampler of sweets! My favorite in the box was the pecan bar, but all were very good and paired well with our coffees! I got the small iced white chocolate mocha and my fiancé got a cold brew. Both were good and I like that his cold brew comes with free refills. We came around lunch hour and it wasn't too busy and too loud so I can see myself getting some admin work or designs done here (they have free wi-fi). It was a bit cold inside and I had shorts and a tank on because it was super hot out, so if you plan to stay a while, I suggest for you to bring a light sweater! Visited a Friday morning, the place did not disappoint. Super cute and small coffee shop. Not sure what country it is inspired from but I enjoyed it. The empanadas were great, delicious and flavorful. Coffee was also great! They have some cakes if you are interested in purchasing cakes. We did some homework while on the shop, it did get crowded and loud so if you're looking for somewhere to do homework keep that in mind! A nice and clean bakery in Cooper City. I ordered the Caramel iced latte with whipped cream and it tasted good. I would suggest you ask for less caramel if you want to taste more of the coffee. I did not try any of their bakeries but will definitely try them when I come back. I like how every table is clean and has an outlet available. All good things to say about Buddie's Bakery. Being tied to the office and not able to get away for breakfast, I was so happy to seen them listed on DoorDash. It arrived warm and perfectly packaged, and did not disappoint. I ordered three (3) empanadas; chicken, omelette, guava and cheese. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now because of their social media presence. I was a bit skeptical but one of my coworkers told me it was good as well so I came in. To start the staff was very friendly and helpful. Their store is very cute but it is in a very dead plaza so it's a little out of place. I got a salted caramel latte with the chocolate cracking shell, 2 chicken empanadas, a turkey BLT on french bread and a 6 pack of alfajores. Since my total was around 70 dollars, the staff also gave me a complementary wine bottle to go. To start, the caramel latte was very yummy the cracking shell is super cool too. I regret going for the safe caramel option since they have so many other options so I definitely will have to try a different flavor if I go back. The chicken empanadas were okay but my friends and I did think they were dry. Apart from the fact that they were prettttttty toasted on the outside the chicken inside itself is dry. I think it could be saved if it came with a dipping sauce or they added more of the sauce the chicken is made with in it or if they toast it a little less maybe? The BLT was the scariest thing for me to try but it was my favorite. I like that they make the sandwiches al momento (fresh) therefore you can customize hoe you want it. For example my sandwich came on rye bread with tomatoes but i was able to change the bread and take out the tomato. The pesto sauce was AMAZING as a peruvian who eats pesto pretty frequently I could admire that this sauce was good and authentic tasting. It also comes with chips added bonus haha. Lastly, the alfajores. My mom grandma and I live alfajores as they are a peruvian delicacy as well. Our box had black,white,dark,pistachio,malbec and nutella and we loved them all. My favorites were nutella, pistachio and malbec. My grandmas was dark and black and my moms was nutella and white. They were all delicious and if you want to try every flavor like we did then the box is a great option! Overall I had a great experience with the only critique being the empanadas. I was dropping off dry cleaning next door and walked past the bakery and did a double take as I have never noticed it before. I went to peek in and the place is so cute. I love the clean and simple decor! When the pandemic happened, Ella Cafe, which was located a few doors down was shut down. That was a hidden gem in this community and I was so sad they had to close their door. This place reminds me a bit of Ella Cafe but Buddie's Bakery specializes in empanadas, desserts and coffee. Excited for another cute cafe open in this neighborhood. I'm looking forward to bringing my family here and spreading the word about this cute new bakery. Met the manager, Gabby. We got to chatting a bit and she was telling me they just opened 2 weeks ago around mid April 2021. That explains everything. Ha. Gabby was incredibly personable and friendly. It was a pleasure talking with her. She was working with another young lady who was also very sweet and helpful. So let's talk about the food. I love empanadas so naturally I had to try one. I wasn't even hungry but "I had to" try one. There were so many different empanada selections and I didn't know which one I was in the mood for. I was feeling the beef empanada so that was the winner. They heated up my empanada and served it with this creamy sauce that had a kick. I honestly forgot what type of sauce it was but it was good so I remember that. The sauce was a nice touch. When I opened the empanada, it was juicy and dripping with flavor. Not dry at all, which is the worst! Eat the empanada by itself and it's delish. Or dip it in the sauce for an extra kick of flavor. I loved this place so much I decided to bring my kids back after picking them up from school. Fridays are usually our end of week treat day so this place was perfect. My kids love cafes too. The kids picked out a few different desserts to share and I added a Spanish empanada to go for my husband. We got the crime brûlée, Ferrero mousse and the chocolate mousse. The crime brûlée was my fave of the dessert bunch. I'm not big on super sweet desserts so the crime brûlée was great. The other two were a little too sweet for me but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Finally, I got the chance to stop here. I saw their menu of different types of empanadas and that drew me into this boutique style eatery. Their omelette empanada was out of this world. I picked up a few empanadas with that kind. Others in the package I took to go were chicken, tuna, steak and also vegan. They were all phenomenal. I decided to get those after some good espresso. And helpful they have a full variety of different things it's fresh everyday it's so cute and comfy inside too plenty of seating. I thought the coffee and empanadas from Buddie's were good. I now view this place as an artisan boutique type of place based on the prices and portion sizes. For what I thought I was walking into, the prices were a bit high. In fact, the prices have gone up significantly from menu pictures posted on Yelp from just 3 months ago. All empanadas are now $3.99, which doesn't sound crazy, but these are quite small. Definitely worth checking them out for a nice coffee and a snack, but not where I'm coming to get breakfast for the whole family. The flavors are marked on the empanadas, which is a great touch. So be smarter than me and check your order before leaving. I was most looking forward to trying the Spanish Empanada, but got home to find out I had a Spinach instead. Ugh! I guess they could sound similar, but huge disappointment. They do have a Yelp check in so get your free coffee. They also have a $15 for $30 certificate on Yelp, which definitely gives you an opportunity to splurge in a more reasonable price range. read more

So I must've been duped. I went to this place based on all the reviews here. I was excited to try it. I ordered a Spanish Empanada and a chicken empanada, a chocolate dipped alfajore and an iced matcha latte. Total bill came to almost $18. Soooooooo disappointed!!!! If I wasn't in a rush to be somewhere I would've turned around and asked for a refund. My matcha latte lets unpack this..... it was green milk. And by green I mean barely green- it was a super duper light tint of green. And when I drank it, it tasted like straight milk. No, not even sweet milk, just milk. Ok now for the empanadas- I opened my to go box and the 1st thing I noticed was that the display empanadas were larger than the ones I actually received. Had the display matched the actual, I would've ordered 3 for my meal. Each empanada is stamped with the name. I had to look closer to my empanadas. I saw the chicken one I ordered. But my Spanish one was nowhere to be found. Why? Because the person who packed (maybe it was the person who took my order?). Packed a SPINACH empanada rather than a SPANISH empanada. Regardless, I tried the spinach one they gave me in error. This one on their menu is marked as "popular". Not sure why?? It was sour as if it was collard greens cooked in a lot of vinegar. Nope not understanding it being marked "popular". On to the chicken. Good news- the chicken empanada was chicken. Bad news- it was meh. Nothing special. It had potential if it were served with a dipping sauce like they show in the display. I will never know because no one packed a dipping sauce for the empanadas. Let's get to that chocolate dipped alfajore. First if you have never had one, it is usually a cookie sandwich usually filled with Dulce de leche which is basically a caramel. This was ok. I honestly have had better. This one once you get past the chocolate dip coating has a strange sandy-ish texture inside. And the important part of Dulce de leche- that took me 3 whole Bites before I hit any Dulce de leche inside. In summary, if you're going to offer matcha latte, brew it longer or more intense so you actually see and taste the matcha, and also warn the customer it's unsweetened. A good way to do this is ask the customer if they want their matcha sweetened or unsweetened. Empanadas- suggest a complimentary dipping sauce and watch what people order and give them what they order. And make the empanadas the same size as the display ones. The alfajore- evenly distribute the caramel and if you can work on preventing the sandy-ish texture, that'd be good too. And work on pricing. I know everything costs more from inflation. However, $4 for the alfajore I had is not good value- it's definitely a $3 value. Empanadas are $5/ea and should be brought down to $4 or $4.25 tops for their size. read more

Stopped by in the early morning for a quick bite before work. Really liked the sound of lemon poppy but they were out so I went with a chocolate muffin and very pleasantly surprised. Don't know if they're baked in house or prepackaged, but taste was great--very rich, and the muffin itself was super moist. Honestly thought the quality might be a little off because I got there so close to opening I thought I'd be getting something that was from the day before and tasted like it, but even if this was a day old muffin it really didn't taste like it.
