I've been here once when they first opened. And I still love this place. The staff is super nice. And helpful they have a full variety of different things it's fresh everyday it's so cute and comfy inside too plenty of seating. And you can also take out as well it's so hard to pick just one thing. Today I got the chicken quesadilla seems to have beans and chicken and cheese. So gooey cooked to perfection they also have vegan options as well and always samples of there treats out. I can't resist and a perfect display of what they have also coffee drinks and more. I thought the coffee and empanadas from Buddie's were good. I now view this place as an artisan boutique type of place based on the prices and portion sizes. For what I thought I was walking into, the prices were a bit high. In fact, the prices have gone up significantly from menu pictures posted on Yelp from just 3 months ago. All empanadas are now $3.99, which doesn't sound crazy, but these are quite small. Definitely worth checking them out for a nice coffee and a snack, but not where I'm coming to get breakfast for the whole family. The flavors are marked on the empanadas, which is a great touch. So be smarter than me and check your order before leaving. I was most looking forward to trying the Spanish Empanada, but got home to find out I had a Spinach instead. Ugh! I guess they could sound similar, but huge disappointment. They do have a Yelp check in so get your free coffee. They also have a $15 for $30 certificate on Yelp, which definitely gives you an opportunity to splurge in a more reasonable price range. read more

I love this place for regular American coffee. I'm a regular coffee kind of person so I haven't tried any of the fancier ones. American coffee is always served hot and has a deep and rich flavor. I come here about three times per week and the same person always waits on me. He is very friendly. They have some sweets and their are empanadas look amazing. They have all sorts of flavors. So I must've been duped. I went to this place based on all the reviews here. I was excited to try it. I ordered a Spanish Empanada and a chicken empanada, a chocolate dipped alfajore and an iced matcha latte. Total bill came to almost $18. Soooooooo disappointed!!!! If I wasn't in a rush to be somewhere I would've turned around and asked for a refund. My matcha latte lets unpack this..... it was green milk. And by green I mean barely green- it was a super duper light tint of green. And when I drank it, it tasted like straight milk. No, not even sweet milk, just milk. Ok now for the empanadas- I opened my to go box and the 1st thing I noticed was that the display empanadas were larger than the ones I actually received. Had the display matched the actual, I would've ordered 3 for my meal. Each empanada is stamped with the name. I had to look closer to my empanadas. I saw the chicken one I ordered. But my Spanish one was nowhere to be found. Why? Because the person who packed (maybe it was the person who took my order?). Packed a SPINACH empanada rather than a SPANISH empanada. Regardless, I tried the spinach one they gave me in error. This one on their menu is marked as "popular". Not sure why?? It was sour as if it was collard greens cooked in a lot of vinegar. Nope not understanding it being marked "popular". On to the chicken. Good news- the chicken empanada was chicken. Bad news- it was meh. Nothing special. It had potential if it were served with a dipping sauce like they show in the display. I will never know because no one packed a dipping sauce for the empanadas. Let's get to that chocolate dipped alfajore. First if you have never had one, it is usually a cookie sandwich usually filled with Dulce de leche which is basically a caramel. This was ok. I honestly have had better. This one once you get past the chocolate dip coating has a strange sandy-ish texture inside. And the important part of Dulce de leche- that took me 3 whole Bites before I hit any Dulce de leche inside. In summary, if you're going to offer matcha latte, brew it longer or more intense so you actually see and taste the matcha, and also warn the customer it's unsweetened. A good way to do this is ask the customer if they want their matcha sweetened or unsweetened. Empanadas- suggest a complimentary dipping sauce and watch what people order and give them what they order. And make the empanadas the same size as the display ones. The alfajore- evenly distribute the caramel and if you can work on preventing the sandy-ish texture, that'd be good too. And work on pricing. I know everything costs more from inflation. However, $4 for the alfajore I had is not good value- it's definitely a $3 value. Empanadas are $5/ea and should be brought down to $4 or $4.25 tops for their size. read more

Stopped by in the early morning for a quick bite before work. Really liked the sound of lemon poppy but they were out so I went with a chocolate muffin and very pleasantly surprised. Don't know if they're baked in house or prepackaged, but taste was great--very rich, and the muffin itself was super moist. Honestly thought the quality might be a little off because I got there so close to opening I thought I'd be getting something that was from the day before and tasted like it, but even if this was a day old muffin it really didn't taste like it. I've been seeing this place all over Facebook and I was finally in the are to get to try it. To start off, what a great experience it was. The person behind the counter was super friendly, immediately started offering us samples of cookies he just pulled out of the oven. The cafe is super clean, with reasonable amount of seating of a cafe. I had just eaten so I got some cookies, and these were some of the best cookies I've ever had. They semi crunch but soft, tasted fresh, full of flavor, no complaints on the cookies. Also I got a cappuccino, which was fantastic, tasted pretty good. Pricing, is really fair, I got 4 giant cookies and a cappuccino for 11 dollars, considering the size of the cookies, you're getting a good deal. Aside cookies, they have empanadas, bagels, coffees, espresso, and other things for you to try out. Overall, great experience, gotta go again to try the empanadas. read more

I found this spot by accident. Upon walking in I found the aroma lovely and the shop very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. I was not familiar with Argentinian pastries and they literally gave me a tour of their goods. There was an abundance of goodies that I had to get for my sister and her bestie who was visiting. I also needed coffee (yes, needed). My mocha Coffee was excellent over ice for a perfectly cool experience on a hot day. I had a croissant with ham and cheese which was good but nothing over the top. It could have been hotter and more melted. However, the pastry case was a site and I wanted one of everything. I may have bought one of everything. Pick anything, you can't go wrong. I met the owner who had a huge smile and I felt like I was welcome and she was happy I was there. She gave me a little treat to have on my way home. I love surprises. My husband and I have ordered from here through Uber eats numerous times. Their empanada options are creative and full of flavor! We had a previously favorite empanada spot and out of no where stopped making empanadas (super strange lol), so we felt lost for a new breakfast spot. Then we found buddies! This morning I decided to order pickup instead of having it delivered to check out the location. I was in and out pretty quickly so I couldn't snap pics this time but I will soon! It's a well designed, modern looking coffee shop. It's hidden in a big plaza so unless you're looking for it you may miss it entirely. The service is great, everyone is really friendly. I even got a free coffee! They have a great array of breakfast bites, coffees (oat milk even!) made by a beautiful Nespresso machine and desserts. Visited this past weekend and couldn't be happier with the experience and quality of the food. Service was impeccable and the place has an easy and quiet vibe that invites you to stay longer, do some remote working, and even some studying. The large variety of frozen coffees rivals of those other known places. I think that what set them apart is the quality and price. I ordered the Turkey Club Sandwich and a Chocolate Frozen Coffee which totaled about $14 which is unheard of nowadays. I also got to try their Salmon Bagel and the empanadas. My favorite was the Cuban Sandwich empanada with the Spinach and their Chicken a close second and third. read more

This was such a cute little bakery with great customer service, prices were reasonable, safety measures, and delicious food and coffee! The workers were super friendly, offered us a menu, and gave us coupons for next time! Everyone was wearing masks, cleaning their working spaces, and their dine-in area was spotless. It was cozy and comfortable with minimal decor that created a perfectly relaxing atmosphere. Even though my boyfriend and I took the food and coffee to-go, it was nice being able to enjoy the ambiance. Will definitely be visiting again after my experience yesterday!! Yessss!!! Really happy this spot opened up right around the corner from where I live. The coffee is pretty good and the empanadas are really really really delicious. Great customer service and it's a nice little café to just go sit and grab a bite and relax. This gem is in the Embassy Plaza which has Tuesday morning and the dollar tree.
