First time visiting Buffalo Exchange. Great selection on new and used clothing and shoes. The staff is super friendly and willing to assist. Great prices on merchandise. Definitely will come back to this place.

Only have had great experiences here . Selling or shopping !! You'll find unique one of a kind items! As far as selling as you really need to be in tuned with what you think they will actually take. Don't just bring your entire closest and think you'll get big bucks, be smart with the things you bring.

I'm across the street having a delicious pizza at Medici's looking at

We all are thrilled that Buffalo exchange has been here and has always thrived in the neighborhood. First of all the staff is just adorable. The merchandise is really great. Their buyers really know what they're doing and the prices are just right.

It's so unfair and sad for such a lovely, well organized, fully stocked store-- (according to their…read moreitems) to get such a low rating on Yelp. But they still go and shop there. Before I forget, they also sell and buy high profile items by famous designers.. After our lunch next door, I have noticed this 2nd STREET thrift store, and decided to walk in yesterday at 5:40pm. I was greeted by Serafin, & Brent. They were very welcoming, helpful, kind and sweet with nice smiles on their faces. After Serafin gave me a little update on their store, policies, rules and regs, everything was pretty much self explanatory. They buy your clothes, shoes, or whatever else that you are trying to sell/buy and they will give you 10% off, if any garment is damaged, stained, ripped etc..however, you have to leave your stuff with them. They will go over them, and what sells, or what not, you need to go pick them up before their closing time. They have many different types of items from: belts, hats, benies, sun glasses, sweaters, shirts, blouses, shoes/boots, purses, scarfs, jackets, slippers, and more. Didn't see any kitchen appliance nor any toys. I saw few items that interested me. Didn't need them, but since they were half off, decided to buy them. They have 3 dressing rooms, and Kylie, let me try them on. Got myself a nice short sleeve blouse, (brown color), a nice long sleeve mustard color Jacket that has a zipper in the front-- along with a nice fuzzy fur on the top, and the bottom part of the sleeves. So pretty and looking new & chic. I also got a pair of jeans for everyday use, with 2 pockets in the front and 2 on the back and a brown color sweater. Very pretty. Dressing room along with the store was very clean, and organized. They even had great music playing overhead. Every item has it's own value/price. For my purchases I paid only $22.52. Go check out this thrift store, you will not be disappointed. Better than Crossroads and Wasteland. Street and metered parking only. Accepts cash and credit cards only. Thank you all very much.

Since I was a little girl, I have been a firm supporter of second-hand clothing/thrifting for two…read moremain reasons: 1) I grew up financially in the poverty bracket and still am not flush with the upper class and 2) I am a fan of vintage, unique finds and the experience that makes the fashion feel exclusive to me versus what is being force-fed by actual retailers. This brick-and-mortar experience (versus apps like Ebay, Poshmark and Depop) comes readily in the traditional sense of thrift stores that are largely on a donation-based model selling items at below-market prices and re-sell shops or consignment boutiques which generally sell higher-end, newer fashionable goods at above-market prices (lower than brand new but not thrift) and are curated from store buyers paying customers for their items which they in turn, sell. Think: Buffalo Exchange, Crossroads, Plato's Closet. 2nd Street fits the latter re-sell distinction and although I am not particularly a fan of this type of model (because I am poor); I recently ventured inside the Sherman Oaks location of 2nd Street. 2nd Street is a Japanese based retailer focused on re-selling premium fashion being birthed in 1996 before crossing globally opening its first US store on Melrose in the City of Angels. It has since expanded to more than 1000 locations worldwide with several in the Los Angeles SoCal area. The Sherman Oaks location holding 5,152 square feet real estate on Ventura Blvd near the intersection of Van Nuys Blvd opened in 2020 (how have I never noticed this store before?!). 2nd Street is definitely a hip vibe with a boutique, urban loft-like feel with high ceilings, cement floors and large, exposed wooden beams. The store is neat-and-tidy and organized with half women's and half men's with also some children's clothing. 2nd Street offers purses, coats, dresses, shirts, pants, hats, shoes... most everything except I did not see any jewelry. Darn. The selection at 2nd Street is definitely fashionable and distinct with some amazing finds: one-of-a-kind pieces, luxury brands, trending fashion houses, etc. However, 2nd Street is noticeably a bit steep on your pocket. The prices are out of my range and the lower-priced goods are either less 'cool' or damaged. I found a cute Princess Polly white dress with cherry motif that was super cheap and then I realized it is because it had stains. Many of these items I can get for far less even with shipping, on Poshmark. The negative of high prices wasn't the pow-point of 2nd Street as this was expected. As seems to be the norm of these re-sell shops; customers tend to be low-balled while they turn around and make quite a profit. Several reviews here state thus and mention 2nd Street telling them to "come back" and make several trips. I experienced this in person with a couple attempting to sell at the register and were severely low-balled as I am an expert at fashion and prices. There was another customer who left clothes, they weren't called to pick up the unwanted items/payment and so 2nd Street took the unwanted clothing after all! Shady!!!!! I also overheard a male associate, after that customer in question left, talking badly ABOUT the customer INFRONT of other customers, I.E. me! These wannabe hipsters and Gen Z kiddos are terrible at customer service and running a business which colored my perspective against the store. 2nd Street seems to offer a much better selection than competitors like Crossroads or Buffalo Exchange so I do recommend it for specialty pieces and occasional shopping but I wouldn't suggest selling to them (you aren't going to make much of a return). Management also needs to address the absence of customer service and rude shit-talking about customers in front of other customers. 2nd Street is best taken with a grain of salt at your own discretion.

In situation of theft staff can engage verbally but should not pursue. Noting shoplifters and pulling them up on security cameras to prevent them from returning it's the safest way to keep everyone safe, customers and all staff included. You never know what someone is capable of or going through. It's pretty sad, but I think they handled everything exceptionally well. I pop in for time to time for misc items. A couple months ago I popped in for props for an indie feature I worked on including some nice lamps and men's clothes. More recently I shopped for a friend and also a little for myself finding two great long sleeve shirts, a cool board game and a Dia De Los Muertos ceramic art piece I'm mailing to my friends up in the bay area for their space. Everything is clean, layed out and the staff on the floor are always polite and diligent with replenishing empty spaces. I was impressive with the new inventory also. Parking is an adventure here for sure. I can't remember the last time I drove here, mostly because I enjoy walking and riding the local metro busses. Spaces are limited and when cars are coming in and out, everything is only one way so it gets congested during peak hours. Highly recommend metered street or paid lot parking, though you can luck into things on the back streets, like Dickens, if you don't mind a little stroll. For the donation center you can request a pickup if you meet the minimum or drop off, check the online list to see what's accepted (mainly for household items, miscellaneous items and furniture. The prices are CRAZY high for a thrift store. I understand they operate trucks and a brick and mortar building but for them to be charging nearly retail prices for used clothes and items they got AT NO COST is just insane. Parking is usually packed and you may end up parking on the streets of the local neighborhood. However if you have donations I'd drop them off at the door THEN find parking. There are often 3-5 tag colors for sale. However most of the items you select will conveniently be a label color off sale. The workers must have paper cuts from as often as they change the tag colors. Come expecting to spend at least an hour if you're on the hunt for something specific. They often have a good variety of purses and shoes. I mainly purchase small home decor items, workout clothes and furniture. I found a gigantic lightweight canvas in the art section that I just love. And I'm constantly checking the vinyl section for gems, all of which are typically $3 or less each. Take a second to view the jewelry counter, you may find some nice earrings behind the glass or costume jewelry hanging up. All the "good stuff" is located behind the counter. That includes items like video game consoles, "luxury" bags, sealed items, cameras and lenses, smaller electronics, instruments, etc. Apparently they're open on Sundays now which is new and still pretty calm since I don't think many people know about it. A lot of the workers are mainly Spanish speaking so do not be offended if they don't answer you right away, they will quickly locate someone bilingual to help. If you can take your time you'll find some good stuff, however with the rising prices the deals are better some days than others. I would give them 3 stars but the prices lately are just brutal.
