    Traditional Wings

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Gone are the days of cheap wings, beer, and sports. This place is a complete shell of its form self. I can think of a dozen places that offer this exact same setup for a much lower price. I quite frankly would not be surprised if this one did not last long. The old location down on barracks was much better and the food quality was substantially better. The only thing this place has going for it now is cheap beers and even that's a stretch some nights.

Wings were good and the bartenders were nice, they didn't exactly pay a lot of attention to the guests. One refill of water in an hour and it took about 10 minutes to wave them down to order a beer - they were not busy either. Bathroom was clean, but the paper towels were out of stock.

Great food but interesting take out experience. When asked if we wanted ranch for the wings, we said yes not realizing they would charge $4 for the condiment and not provide utensils.

I love Buffalo Wild Wings food, I was part of the opening at the Gainesville location & a regular there after. I have tortured myself with the blazing challenge, twice! -- I am experienced with quality BWW food. This location does not have it, waited over an hour for our food, our waiter was incredibly inattentive, and we didn't even get silverware when our food finally did come out.. Half the wings were under sauced, they forgot the carrots & ranch. Honestly I was astonished at the absolute failure of service we had... it was just a simple party of four and they were very busy. I asked a host for help and he simply walked away, I asked another waitress for help so we weren't eating with our fingers and she finally sent a manager over... she was nice and helpful however it has already been 1.5 hours since we sat down for dinner and had just received napkins and silverware. Even the manager said she wouldn't eat the wings I was served! I love bdubs, and I hate this location. Maybe takeout could be decent if ordered ahead?

Captains log. 8:15 PM. Why am not allowed to move to a different table when I am anemic and freezing my ass off at the table by the door? Because another server threw a shit fit about her table. Why have I been waiting for forever to get some damn Wings. Luckily I love my chicken burned and dry. Seriously. I do. I like chewy friend chicken bits. 2 stars because our waitress Kailee was a Rockstar professional BTW. Update for my revisit Jan 5. Vomiting violently after eating some Chile cheese dip and Thai curry and mild wings. Nope. Can't go back now if I wanted too... Ever vomited Thai curry sauce?

This is the only restaurant inside the Doubletree Hotel in Charlottesville, and I must say that the…read morefood we had was pretty damn good all things considering. This hotel is in the middle of a college town that has pretty much nothing except Wal-Mart and a Gold's Gym, and it exceeded my expectations for food quality. What I had during my stay there: their traditional buffalo wings, cobb salad, blue ridge BBQ, triple chocolate cake, guacamole, and hazelnut iced coffee. All of these except for the guacamole were enjoyable to eat. The guacamole tasted like artificially mashed avocados and it was overly acidic. I expected salad that was wilted and sandwiches that came out like a plastic mold, but it didn't. It tasted like good food. I docked them one star due to inconsistent service. There was one specific waitress there who gave us so much attitude and stood around the register/computer the entire time. There were other times where the service was excellent, although still a bit on the slow side. It took them a while to take our orders, and screwed up our order as well. We had to remind our waiter to wipe off our table because there were scraps of food and water spots sitting there for a while. The restaurant is only so big, and there were only so many people, I find this to be subpar service.

I'm so sad, man. My wife is a lifelong Virginian who has been to this place many times in the past…read moreand spoken so highly of it every time. We even went together probably almost ten years ago and loved it! So we were in the area tonight and decided, of course, to hit up Boylan Heights for dinner, remembering it as fondly as we did. But I ended up...really disappointed by this visit. First of all, it was super busy, very crowded, and very loud - that's kinda to be expected out of a college sports bar though. The servers were all doing their best, and everybody was really nice! But then I ordered one of their pre-mixed drinks from the bar, and had to end up asking after it about 20 minutes later when it hadn't made it to my table. I was told it got lost in the mix of everything, which I do understand because as I mentioned before, it was busy. So I just said that's cool, I don't need it, I'll just have a root beer instead. 10 minutes later and the server comes to the table with lightly-tinted soda water, very apologetically telling me that's what's coming out and they need to change the bag. I'm autistic and overstimulated at this point so I just say no, water is fine. And that was a little ehh, but the food was absolutely the most disappointing part of this experience. I ordered a burger with bacon and cheese and their curly fries on the side...the fries were barely warm, and not a single element of the burger was seasoned. It was offensively bland, and on top of that, the bacon was floppy. Burger was undercooked as well (menu says they're cooked to medium well, it was about medium rare). I took 2 bites and was totally done. It's really a shame because you can tell the quality of the ingredients is good, but the execution was just kind of embarrassing. Like...salt and pepper the meat at least, please, c'mon. The milkshake was pretty good, though. This place is an institution, but I think it's leaning a little too hard on that reputation and has let the quality of its food slip.

They gave us menus and scantron-like menus to circle in the build-your-own burgers & bowls. That was pretty cool. I chose my chicken sandwich and gave it to the waitress. My sister ordered the boozy milkshake and my niece ordered a regular one. They really liked them! My chicken sandwich was so good! I got the curly fries with it and they were super delish too. My sister got loaded tots which were sooo good. I only with they had pickled jalapeño for them instead of fresh. The fresh were just too much (& I love spice). All in all - solid place to eat!
