First time stopping at Buff's in a few years - still good! Really enjoyed the Wings plate with onion wings, sauce Buffalo Xtra Hot (which is not SUPER hot, but just right). Salad was also good, fresh vegetables and a good size. Friendly bartender - thanks Eduardo. FYI: They DO take credit cards these days, no need to worry about cash.

Buff's Pub in Newton is a must-visit for chicken wing lovers! Their wings are consistently praised for being juicy, flavorful, and available in a variety of delicious sauces like Honey Hot and Buffalo. The wings have a great crispy texture without being overdone, and the sauces strike a perfect balance of heat and taste. Beyond wings, the menu offers tasty burgers, salads, and classic pub sides like sweet potato fries. The vibe is casual and lively, with plenty of TVs showing sports, making it a great spot for gatherings or catching a game. The staff are friendly and welcoming, though it can get busy during peak hours. Just a heads-up--they only accept cash, which is a bit inconvenient but doesn't detract from the overall experience. If you're in Newton and craving top-notch wings and a fun, laid-back atmosphere, Buff's Pub definitely delivers.

It is all set up for a Sunday football game with five televisions. Wherever the seat, there is a view of one of the screens. There are meters in front with free parking on the side street. It had a rustic look with barn boards on the walls and wood through out. Tables are out front on the sidewalk. I had the buff cheeseburger with Greek salad. The Greek salad was a four dollars more for the substitute. The burger was less so it all evened out. I would definitely return.

Really can't get better wings in the Boston area than Buff's. I've never had any other item on their menu and probably never will. No thrills, Buff's is simple and perfect. The place is always busy and doesn't take reservations. You will have to wait a while, so put your name down with them at the front, grab a drink, and watch a game. I usually get the wing plate with Nashville hot sauce. Highly recommend for wings and good times!

Buff's Pub. A great establishment. Came for the wings, indulged in the wings. We got the buffalo, honey hot, bourbon peach bbq, bbq, and the teriyaki. They were all super crispy and the sauces were excellent. The beer and alcohol menu is excellent. There were tons of IPAs to pick from. We love this place and will come back here any chance that we get!! 10/10

The place is small but is known for the best wings in boston. I tried to go one evening a few months back and they told me a 1hr wait lol NO considering there's about nothing around there. So this time around I decided to get it when they open. Service was okay but I give it to the fact the server said they just started working there 2 days ago. Since they weren't busy the wings came out in like 2 mins which was interesting. So the food. Well...They were wings that's for sure. I know the wing sauces I got and yet I couldn't figure out what I was tasting. The flavors did not stand out and I swear one of them which I suspected was the peach bourbon bbq was actually buffalo and they got my order wrong. I'll never know because the check just listed small wings sets but online the buffalo wings looked like what i got. I won't be back but glad I finally went and put my thoughts to rest. Life is full of wins and losses, you just keep moving. What I got Lemon pepper garlic parmesan wings Peach bourbon bbq probably buffalo wings $ Food 4 Atmosphere 5 Service 4

Still a good place for chicken wings, but I of course ordered the puff burger and the steak tips on the salad. Burgers are Angus beef, and it was delicious with a nice brioche bun.! with a side of sweet potato fries. Delicious ate my burger in two seconds.

Great wings and chicken sandwiches. AND they actually take cards now. Outdoor seating is welcome addition since the pandemic too.

Great wings that are always ready on time. They lose a star because they charge way too much for chicken wings. They are very good though.

Inside, there is Boston memorabilia and distinctly Irish feel with sports, street signs, pictures and references to Ireland. The service is friendly. The food has been consistent and good. The bar is wonderful and quaint. A pint of Guinness never disappoints. I so wanted this to be 5. We Iived in the neighborhood years ago, and would walk to Dunn's especially when we thought I could remodel the kitchen and were without it for six months. The place and service is a 5. The cheesy potato wedges as an app was awesome. The seafood cakes are excellent and a good value. The meatloaf is a little bland and the accompanying broccoli was tough and I didn't finish it. The mash potatoes and gravy are always excellent. The food doesn't seem to be as differentiated as in the past. Overall, Dunn's is a wonderful experience!

The wood interior, historic décor, and cozy atmosphere gave it the feel of a longtime local favorite without feeling outdated. The dining room had a comfortable, lived-in energy with a layout that accommodated both small groups and larger parties, and the warm lighting and traditional furnishings made it easy to settle in for a casual dinner or drinks with friends. It was the kind of place where the relaxed setting encouraged lingering over a meal rather than rushing through it. The menu focuses on elevated pub classics with several house specialties that are worth ordering. We started with the eggplant fries, one of the signature appetizers, and found them having a light, crispy coating that made them surprisingly addictive. The steak tips were another standout, cooked tender and packed with flavor, and the steak frites were a great choice if you are looking for something more substantial. There were also plenty of comfort food options throughout the menu, including seafood cakes, meatloaf, and seasonal specials that gave us a reason to come back and try something different. The food arrived hot and well assembled, and the portions were generous without being excessive. The service was one of the highlights of our visit. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant had the kind of hospitality that made us feel like regulars even on a first visit. The atmosphere stayed comfortable throughout the meal, making it just as suitable for a family dinner as it is for a casual night out. There is a small parking lot along with some nearby street parking, though it could fill up quickly during busy dinner hours. The staff moved through the room with ease, checking in at the right moments and keeping the pacing of the meal steady without making us feel rushed. Overall, Dunn-Gaherin's Food and Spirits is the kind of neighborhood restaurant that consistently delivers a comfortable atmosphere, friendly service, and well-executed pub food. The combination of classic Irish pub charm and quality comfort dishes makes it an easy place to return to, whether we were stopping in for one of their signature appetizers or a full dinner.

I think the chef is one of those people, because I had the muscles today and it was so salt forward. I mean it was dangerously full salt, but I was so hungry that I ate it anyway and then I told the waitress I said I should not even complain because I ate the dish however they should watch out for the salt. She said it's one of the most popular dishes and people like it that way . The restaurant decided to be gracious enough and swap that off of my order and let me get something else instead, but I was already full, so I took home a salad. Hours later, I figured it would be nice to have something refreshing after all that salt. I'm eating the salad and something crunchy and it's not the normal crunch. So I decide to like look into the lettuce and I see dirt. Especially now with everything going on around lettuce I am beyond shocked. I tried to call the restaurant granted it was dinner time but no answer so I called the sister company in another city and they said they would have the manager reach out to me which never happened . What surprised me as well as the manager from the sister location said he finds this surprising because the lettuce comes in triple washed, and they wash it themselves. All I could say to that is maybe open up the lettuce leaves and rinse them or open your eyes. So I'm putting it out there, I would like my money back, but since you can't answer the phone or own up to any responsibility, I'm leaving this message for you because I get a lot of hits on my reviews and I'm gonna tell people do not eat at this place unless your taste buds are completely dead and you just need salt and dirt survive. PS the ambience is so dark. It's decorated nicely, but they definitely need more light can barely read the menu..
