So I was happy to see Ace Hardware & Paint renovate the space and so far it has a good selection and tremendously nice and helpful employees. Having a complete hardware store (rather than the hit or miss Historic General Store) fits a need that was missing in our community. It turns out I was their first paint customer and I picked up several sample pints of Clark + Kensington Paint ($4.99/sample). They also stock Valspar. They have a 'paint expert' and a few other employees learning the ropes. I also picked up a few other household items, including a replacement coffee pot and the price was less than Fred Meyer. The store is bursting with merchandise, so much so that some of their stock is spilling out on the front patio. Although the location is light and bright, especially the floor to ceiling windows along the paint section, it feels a bit cramped with narrow aisles. It is a nice touch to have a complimentary coffee and soda bar (Pepsi products) for customers and a tool chest filled with candy for the kids.

After contacting the store, I find out the couch was never even ordered!!! The team member said she would get it ordered and contact me. Now the couch shows it's out of stock. That team member AND a manager said they would call me back after they did some research, no call back. No explanation for what happened and no couch. I will never order from Home Depot again. Horrible customer service.

They never have anything in stock - even if their "pick up in 15 minutes" on the website says so. I see it, drive to the store and then it's nowhere to be found. This is not specific to this location as I have encountered it at multiple. However, it is the worst at this one. They're 20-25% more expensive than box stores. I want to support local franchisees but they make it really hard to. I'll give credit to the staff that do ask if I need help, but more often than not the staff are socially awkward and quite unfriendly. I've gotten paint there and I felt as though I was a huge burden for asking for help lol.

They had some pre-fab chicken coops outside for sale, and since eggs are so expensive. It actually made me think about the possibilities. :) since eggs are so expensive and all. When we asked one of the customer service reps about it, he had a pretty arrogant attitude and tried to upsell us on another product. He pointed out that he was a horticulturist and would never consume a vegetable that was planted in the mix that we were looking for. Management ought to encourage their staff to be a little more helpful and less judgmental.
