They seem to be burning through employees again. Some are okay, some are about as helpful as a Dollar Tree worker, no offense to the one and only employee you actually see there. I guess when you pay your workers the same minimum wage, why would you expect customer service to be any better than the worst store you have experienced. Love this place. They have some great deals. Found tools that were hard to find in any other local tool store. Found a few i need and some i didn't know i wanted. Its a little of everything but not a lot of anything. Like Circular Saw Blades. They have 3. 1 is for tile. Car Jacks. Several types to choose from. Table Saw. 2. 2 Counter Top Models. I guess you have to shop around. I came here for a weekend sale and found some great deals. Got a free 25' Tape Measure also. Awesome selection of Hammers. My wife found the cutest hammer. I am saving for a Belt/Disc Sander i've had my eyes on. It's an old school design that i really like. So i will be back. Probably many times. read more

Harbor freight is what it is. If you are buying stuff there you likely already know that most of what they sell is lower quality Chinese/foreign tools and equipment. That being said, most average Joe types don't need a $200 set of carbon steel sockets for around the house use and Harbor Freight has some very decent and affordable tools for the average user. I was tempted to give them 3 stars because of the lower quality products, but why? That's what they sell and they don't pretend to be something they aren't. So they get four stars because they do a good job in the niche of the market they serve. I have been pretty happy with most of what I buy here, but I decide before hand whether I should buy it there or go elsewhere for a higher grade if that's what I need. This place is a good place to go in a pinch to get some ridiculous tool (huge pry bar, giant hub socket, dead blow hammer, bolt cutter, specialty security screwdriver bits) that you need to use once, then collect dust, for an okay price. 99% of the crap here is made in China, has leftover casting marks, and is coated and packaged poorly. I've literally seen broken tools for sale on the shelf, so shop carefully, and always work carefully when using the tools you bought there. The staff seem okay, and care about their jobs about as much as a 7-11 cashier, so don't expect the red carpet treatment. Harbor Freight is about value, and it delivers. read more

I use to enjoy coming in here and buying my things esp. when they had really good coupons or discounts going on or their sidewalk sale. Not bad prices either. HOWEVER! I wrk for people who are seniors and who have disabilities and are either unable to shop for themselves or do not leave their homes to shop. I went in here a few months ago and explained this to the cashier who explained this to their manager. They told me I could go ahead and use the free items every once in awhile in groups as long as there weren't to many and it wasn't everyday or every week and so on. kind of like here and there. I was completely fine with that, I was just happy they understood. I understand you don't know if people say stuff like this just to use that as an excuse, but some of us actually do this for a living for others and stores need to understand that. Esp if it says in store only and if the clients are like mine and may not use or be able to use computers. I went in today and this one cashier who is blond in her 40's/50's maybe and wears glasses who has the worse disposition ever and is always short with you and acts like she is the enforcer to the store. I asked where an item was she informed me there was 1 free item per person per day. Well 1st it really wasn't her business if I had the coupon to use or if I had it for reference, or if I had other items that were from other free ones. The point was I was simply asking where it was not what it said or what her thought was. I explained to her what I was told given my situation. I talked to the manager who had to just be out of his teenage yrs. Who completely was discriminating against people with disabilities and seniors with needs and basically saying I was lying and all this stuff and saying I should drag them down and make them be there if they want their stuff. Harbor freight Needs to understand there are people with needs and have certain situations that call for people to shop for them. They should not and it is ILLEGAL to discriminate against anyone for any reason. My mom was with me too and he said well I will allow you to get one and your mom to get one. I have being going here for years until now, I had one of the absolute worst customer experiences I have ever had Thanks to supervisor named Jen. I have been going to this store for so many years i know the inventory better than most of the employees. I never have have been so embarrassed and talked to in such a manor by a salesperson ever, I bought a tool doesn't matter what it was just that i bought it there for cash money about 5 weeks ago and it was malfunctioning. And i had talked to the ast manager about it but by the time i had gotten there he had gone for the day so i figured i would have to come back the next. but the cashier said he remembered me and the purchase. he wanted to know if i wanted to take care of it that day is was like i sure if you think it won't be a problem i(i didn't have the receipt on me it was in my car in the shop) he said no problem because he remember selling it to me. i thought lucky day no second trip . he calls for a shift supervisor and the person Jen comes out she was a very poorly groomed representative for the company bright pink hair looked and smelled like she had not bathed in days. She comes up and asks for the receipt I explain that I dont have it on me and the cashier chimes in that he remember selling to me. so i figure i"ll have to go get it and return. but she start off and rather surly that they can not exchange it without receipt which i already knew but they can override this with good reason. the she is like but i go ahead and exchange it if and only if you buy a 2 year warranty i'm like what??? so I ask how much figure if it saves me a trip then it might be worth the hassle and i can cancel it latter. It comes back as 50 bucks, Wow 0.0- to exchange a tool that is under warrenty and less than 5 weeks old extra $50 bucks i'm like your kidding. I tell her i dont have an extra 50 dollars to spend on a warranty when the item is still under one already. It also has a one year from the factory. She is like well you can buy another one full price . (really not shit) You just got done telling me that you cant take it back for exchange because i dont have the receipt, But then in the same breath tell me that you can but only if i buy a warranty that i dont want or need. sS i offer a compromise of buy a returned unit one that they have in there close out section and she tells me that i can't buy one of those only a new one at full price (300) while they are now on sale for 34% (200) off that the sale price does not apply to me . I wont lie at this point i pissed stupid but i dont do any thing other than tell here im going to give her a bad review and leaved period nothing else. wtf really at this point im about to explode so i walk next store to buy a soda and she calls the cops of all things because of an unset customer. OMFG really this girl and her shift manager Megan who lied to the police saying that i went off on her (Megan) which is not true i saw her for 1 second as i was walking out the door and not a word was exchanged. I my opinion (which no one has asked for) both need to find employment someplace that there is no contact with customers. Neither are a people person or a manager. Don't go until its fix would be my recommendation. Even at a price point of free i wont be going back until she is gone and I recieve an apology from the company.
