Their pan fried buns take a while to come out, but they are fried well (crunchy on the bottom), while the bun is still soft on top. The meat is also very juicy on the inside. The other items we ordered (beef noodle soup, xiao long bao) were mediocre. Our steamed dumplings were not as hot as we wanted, so the outside got hard pretty quickly. The beef noodle soup was okay, kind of bland and forgettable. The workers here are SO nice. They surprised my kids with a chocolate bear bao, which they devoured. No one greets you or nods their head at the empty table. No one hands you a menu, so be the first to photo the QR Cube. The order will be in your name only so anyone else dining with you must insource you to order for them. No matter, as your food arrives quick and hot. (Sounds like Bumble tumble). The Decor: Not what you came for, but it's as clean as the Coroner's Autopsy Surgical Suite. The Staff: Automatons. One step from Botism (which is better than botulism). The Bar: No booze. Press a button and extra napkins will appear. This is a place to bring a date where you can whip out your Galaxies and test your texting chops, even if your'e merely texting each other. With the World fractured into tribes why would you want to interact with others anyway? The Food: A blend of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and surrounding Countires. The Chinese Park Burger was immediately intriguing. A crunchy laminated wanna be bun, it was like eating a Croissant that was sired by a Siu Mai. The Bun does soak up the juices from the Pork Butt so, eat it quickly before it gets soggy. The meat was juicy and tender overall. The final assessment is that the burger may be worth a second fly by. I couldn't decide about which Dumplings I wanted. The QR Cube led me to a Fried Combo Plate. Six handball sized balls were delivered in short order. Two Shrimp and Leek, two Curry, and two House Special Dumplings. The Curry was gone in a hurry followed by the Shrimp and Leek. The House Special Buns seemed to be Fridge clean out Special. All the Buns had a thick bottom and quickly lost their crunch factor. Caveat: Read the How to Deal with Your Soup Dumpling Tutorial plastered on the wall. Carefully read the approved method for eating Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumpling), lest you end up in the ER with a burned mouth. The Buns themselves were chewy little buggers instead of yielding to the tooth. One tiny bite and the screamin' jet exhaust hot soup squirts you like an Archer Fish ensuring fast track to the nearest Urgent Care. Poke a small hole in the thing so steam can escape, gently squeeze out the scalding hot soup into your soup spoon and set that down carefully to let it cool. Pinch the knot on your Bun and nibble it's bottom. Y'all havin' some Bun fun now. Were these Buns magisterial and ethereal? Bu. (No). The Bunsters at Din Tai Fung would be laughing if they weren't so busy making Buns that were magisterial and ethereal. In the end these Buns were heavy, dense and chewy. I prefer my Buns light and tight. The Jajiang Noodles stood in for Dan Dan Noodles, my go to Sichuan dish. Dan Dan Noodles should make you sweat and your face glisten for days. These Buns ain't no Trump thing, so he won't be bide'n his time here at Bun World. Here, the Noods were as thick as your chopstick, sauced with something a fer piece from piquant and the ground Beef was Hamburger Helper-ish. Just reach for the Condiment Caddy. The Sriracha gotcha covered. Next up was Chicken, Mushroom, and Corn Dumplings, actually small Pink leaves stuffed with Chicken, Mushroom and Corn and nothing that a squeeze of yu po la zi (Chili Oil) can't fix. The Panda Dumplings were so cute I wanted to immediately eat one...until I did. It was simply inedible. A sheen of a skin had formed on the Dumplings. They were bready and thick. The Sesame Seed Paste inside was meager and hiding in a corner of the thing. This Dumpling put me in the dumps. The Popcorn Chicken was dangerously hot when served. A hefty sprinkle of MSG made these nuggets turbo powered. They were slightly lemony and Devilishly salty and uber crisp on arrival. Eat them like the wind. In fact bring another bucket of these crunchy bites quickly. Bun World was hit or miss for me. They have brown bear, panda bear, and pig shaped dessert buns that are sure to put a smile on your face, in addition to the savory buns and dumplings they also serve. While the food here is still very good, especially the mushroom chicken corn dumplings, I've had better buns at a few other places which is why I knocked off a star. To order, you scan a code on the table, and input what you want on a website. It's pretty cool since the website coordinates with everyone in your party, so if you remove something or add something, it automatically shows up for everyone. This restaurant is in a plaza right by our house that is shaping up to be an international restaurant plaza. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. So we had high hopes that we'd finally found our go to Chinese restaurant (which right now is Din Tai Fung). Not a very big restaurant and just a couple of 2 table tops outside. We decided to do takeout. It took an exceptionally long time to get our food. They did apologize, but didn't offer any discount or complimentary items. We live 5 minutes from the restaurant so it was still warm when we got it home. Packaged well too. We searched for a place nearby to have lunch after a nearby doctor's appointment. I'm typically not in this area but for this particular appointment we had to go to Anaheim. I recall seeing this place featured in an Instagram reel and thought it would be cute to try sometime. However, we ended up not choosing any of the character buns. I definitely would not order this again. It was rather bland and I did not like the texture. I usually like tofu in any way, but this was not for me. I ended up throwing out most of it, and I usually do not waste food! We always went to Reborn Coffee next door when we spotted this place and it was a cute little spot. We decided to come on a Friday for lunch around 1p and there was no wait. This place is a 10/10. I also got to try to the Xiao Long Bao and the mini pan fried beef buns, with a Jasmine Green Tea. Everything was delicious and juicy. The staff was extremely sweet and I loved their energry, I definetely will be visiting again. The aesthetic of the place is very cutesy, it's small but very clean. Giving four stars overall, but would give five stars for its sheng jian bao (pan-fried pork buns). Other items are good too, but I would stick with these buns for routine visits. I rarely order these because I really haven't liked any of the ones I tried in the past, even the ones in SGV area. The ones I tried were perfectly cooked with sturdy, crispy layer at the bottom and soft, thin skin on top. My family and I ordered the combination pan-fried buns, which came with two pieces each of regular, curry, and shrimp & leek. There's an instruction on how to eat these. You poke a small hole on top and pour out the juice on a spoon, then pour some vinegar mixture into the bun and eat it. Xiao long bao (steamed juicy pork dumplings) and scallion pancakes were typical, and I probably wouldn't order these on my own, since there are other places that do a better job. I thought the skin on xiao long bao was too thick. Rainbow Dumplings were pretty good. I mainly ordered for the different color skin but they are good enough for me to order again in the future. Think each color had slightly different ingredients but didn't pay close attention to what they were. Christmas Snowman Taro Buns had good filling, but I didn't care for the outer layer. They looked good but the texture was a little dry and too thick. It was mainly for my kids because of the design, but I will probably just order one of their other dessert buns in the future. Service was somewhat non-existent since ordering is done on a kiosk or by scanning a QR code, even when dining in. This could easily be remedied with a kitchen timer rather than the "if it floats it's cooked" method. I mean the wontons came out really fast so we were surprised how fast it came out after ordering. The outside was semi-translucent so I thought it was ok, but when I ate the first one and found it wasn't hot and the texture wasn't right I knew something was off so I had to inspect the second one and told my gf if she had the same mouth feel eating the wonton and she concurred. I mean I lived to tell the tale after a raw wonton so just know what you're eating. The wait staff was kind enough to remake the dish which I would say was about 90% cooked with the meat texture closer to solid, but it was close enough. So after that first encounter we were cautious of the rest of the dumplings we ordered and they were cooked and quite delicious! gf really liked the pork and corn dumplings and the fried bun style dumplings were on par with another place we've been to so that's good. The wait staff did give us a complimentary rain drop cake which was nice of them. The main thing that I'd like to share is that I hope in the future, for the online ordering system that they have, I hope it includes what exactly the item is, like a small description. Because something labeled as Rainbow Dumplings isn't really helpful as to what meat is inside, now I'm sure you can ask someone, but the workers were either in the kitchen or we couldn't see them. The pork rib meet looked so bland but was far from it. The only downside is that they were nit very meaty and the cuts of rib broke were crude leading to sharp pieces. We decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews and seeing it on social media. We were immediately seated after checking in. The restaurant is very casual and a bit small, but is very comfortable. Tables seating up to 2-4 people cover the area by the entrance and along the orange wall and the kitchen can be seen from the front as well. The white wall also has the restaurant's dumpling mascots on it, along with the name of the restaurant above them. To the left is a cute poster depicting the mascots explaining how to properly eat dumplings as well. The place has a cute interior. We ordered the following: Jajang noodles- daughter liked it a lot. She liked the protein on it and loved the ground meat and that it had a really good texture. Hubs said that he prefers the Taiwanese version of jajang noodles, but he liked it anyway. Rainbow dumplings (5 pieces)- daughter loved these. She loved the colors and knew that she had to try at least one of them. It was so good. Hubs also noticed the vibrant colors. However, when he tasted them, he couldn't tell one from the other, which bothered him. Sweet and sour wood ear- daughter liked it a lot. She loved that the garlic was raw and gave the dish a nice bite. Hubs liked it a lot and said that it was an unconventional salad but it hit all the right notes Shrimp and leek pork pan fried buns- daughter liked it a lot and liked that it was crispy on the bottom, but it tasted like any other pan fried bun. Hubs was looking for the ultimate bun that blew him away because of the reviews that he read. He didn't find anything extraordinary, but he was disappointed that it didn't wow him. Pork spicy wonton in red oil- daughter liked it. Hubs was disappointed in it. He said that he expected it to be more spicy but it was more soy sauce. He thought it was a little salty. There was barely any interaction with the server.When we arrived, he came over and told us to zap the QR code and order online. Aside from this and bringing our food over with the bill, we never saw him again. AND we were the only customers there, the whole time. I'm glad that we got to try this place and knocked it off our list. Will probably check out other dumpling places when we're back in the neighborhood. read more

Ordered some the steamed beef dumpling and it was so good especially for its price. I ordered it to-go and was ready within minutes!
