Similar color scheme and all I thought I was in the right place but something seemed off... The cashier was so friendly and sat me down herself with a menu and I just couldnt leave. I ordered house recommendation pair - Pork Bone Soup with Pan Fried Buns (Pork) and It was an instant hit. The soup broth was so lovely and smooth with fresh corn and carrots that added good hints. The pork rib meet looked so bland but was far from it. The only downside is that they were nit very meaty and the cuts of rib broke were crude leading to sharp pieces. The ginger served on the side was so fresh and delicious I could eat it just like that along side some of the best spicy kimchi I probably ever had. Excellent place! We decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews and seeing it on social media. We were immediately seated after checking in. The restaurant is very casual and a bit small, but is very comfortable. Tables seating up to 2-4 people cover the area by the entrance and along the orange wall and the kitchen can be seen from the front as well. The white wall also has the restaurant's dumpling mascots on it, along with the name of the restaurant above them. To the left is a cute poster depicting the mascots explaining how to properly eat dumplings as well. The place has a cute interior. We ordered the following: Jajang noodles- daughter liked it a lot. She liked the protein on it and loved the ground meat and that it had a really good texture. Hubs said that he prefers the Taiwanese version of jajang noodles, but he liked it anyway. Rainbow dumplings (5 pieces)- daughter loved these. She loved the colors and knew that she had to try at least one of them. It was so good. Hubs also noticed the vibrant colors. However, when he tasted them, he couldn't tell one from the other, which bothered him. Sweet and sour wood ear- daughter liked it a lot. She loved that the garlic was raw and gave the dish a nice bite. Hubs liked it a lot and said that it was an unconventional salad but it hit all the right notes Shrimp and leek pork pan fried buns- daughter liked it a lot and liked that it was crispy on the bottom, but it tasted like any other pan fried bun. Hubs was looking for the ultimate bun that blew him away because of the reviews that he read. He didn't find anything extraordinary, but he was disappointed that it didn't wow him. Pork spicy wonton in red oil- daughter liked it. Hubs was disappointed in it. He said that he expected it to be more spicy but it was more soy sauce. He thought it was a little salty. There was barely any interaction with the server.When we arrived, he came over and told us to zap the QR code and order online. If I could give this place zero stars I would. They have an option to order online. We did that and placed an order to pick up in about one hour. You order everything and pay through a QR code which is yay because it's less pressure but also I kind of like when waiters come and talk to you. The QR though is so nice because you can see photos of all the items. You also place the order yourself. Food comes out pretty quick. You can also pay anytime that you want. Less interaction is good for quick service and if you're shy or get nervous talking to others. We ordered the Pikachu burger, curry fried buns and hello kitty buns. First off everything is so cute! The waiter said yes, but then a lady I presume to be the manager said no. No explanation. Told us to put our name on the list, which we had already done. An hour later waiting, she skips 4 parties on the list to sit 2 parties of 2. They had barely even put their names on the sheet. Why did they not accommodate the parties of 3 before them is beyond me. Was super excited to try this place and maybe the food will be better but this hour long wait was horrendous. The party of 3 ahead just sat down at 12:10, and they said they got here at 11:05. I wish they would understand what we were trying to tell them about sitting separately but there is definitely a language barrier. The English is not strong with the workers. 12:15 and still waiting, even though there is an open 4-top table. We are staring at the open table. Let's hope the food makes up for it. Edit: Beef Pancake Roll and Pan-Fried Pork Buns were delicious... but while dining here, we realized they keep tables empty because the kitchen can't keep up with the orders. She ordered a beef noodle soup, pan fried pork buns, chili tofu skin (this was the highlight for me, lots of flavor), Chinese hamburger. There is a poster on the wall with instructions on how to eat a Bun...e.g. poke a hole to expel steam....The food was OK, didn't have much flavor. I'm not really sure how I want to rate this place. It's between 2 to 3 stars for me. The Beef Roll Pancake initially came out where the wrap was completely pale and wet looking. I really should have taken a picture before sending it back to show you what I mean. But it didn't have the iconic browned spots on the wrap. To me, it was underdone and why was it wet? When I called the server (who happens to be the only server here) to let her know that the beef roll doesn't look right and is too pale, she tells me that this is the "regular one" and if I want the browned spots, it's not the "regular one." I was pretty upset that she immediately took the stance of indirectly blaming me for ordering the "regular one" as if there was even a choice on the menu to order the not "regular one." I pulled up images from Yelp to show her that it should look like the ones posted on here (dark spots on the wrap) and she continues to tell me that the one I received is the "regular one" and that it will take more time for the ones I pointed to on Yelp. Wow. Okay. So I said, I'll wait, no problem. Boy, did it take a really long time after sending it back for the beef rolls to come out again (25 minutes). I ordered Shrimp and Leek Pork Pan Fried Buns as well as steamed Fish Dumplings as part of my order. It took 40 minutes before the Shrimp an Leek Pork Pan Fried Buns to come out! Man, the wait in itself is not worth coming here. I did notice that other tables didn't always take this long, but there were some that took a long time. I see the responses here on Yelp from the owner, who happens to look like the server who helped us (I could be mistaken) and her response is that everything is handmade so it takes a longer time. I get it, but 40 minutes for four piece of pan friend bun seems way too long of wait. If it does take that long, I don't think it's worth it coming here unless you really like their buns. Speaking of their buns, the filling was quite salty. I liked it, but my hubby did not. I am someone who tends to be very heavy-handed when it comes to salting my food, so I give them credit that their saltiness is good for me. But for most people, I don't know if you'll like their buns considering their filling is pretty salty. Actually, the dumpling filling was pretty salty as well. I was excited to come here and this place looks so good in photos. We finally made it to Bun World a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon. Bun World closes early so we never get to go for dinner get together after work. We were the only guests when we got there. A group was just leaving when we arrived. The lady serving us was the only front of the house person at the place. We ordered using the QR code. There was no physical menu provided to us. We got the usual orders we get from a dimsum place, like XLB, Fried Pork Bun, Sesame Balls, and Steamed Dumplings. They were average. We definitely had better versions of each of them from other dim-sum places we've been. We ordered too their character buns. We got the pikachu chicken sandwich (which I think is their kids meal) and even that was just average. We also got their Labubu Steamer Buns (with red bean filling). They were cute but taste wise , just okay. Would I go back to Bun World? Maybe, if I am in the vicinity and I want to have popcorn chicken (this was my favorite of all that we ate) . Discovered this new restaurant in a strip plaza in Anaheim/Anaheim Hills area. Small restaurant but modern. If you do take out they have a self service screen where you can order. Food came out relatively quick as we ordered the pan fried dumplings which were extremely hot and fresh. The beef rolls were filled with delicious beef brisket and cilantro. We all had a variety of things like popcorn chicken, house pan fried buns, spicy oil dumplings, chili tofu skin, combination pan fried buns, corn and cheese pan fried buns, etc. We loved the popcorn chicken, tofu skin, and the house pan fried buns the most. My sister and friend also preferred the house, then the curry and leek and shrimp equally depending on how you feel. They both expected the leek and shrimp to just be leek and shrimp but there was pork in it with very little shrimp. We also had the cheese and corn bun which we thought would be savory but it's actually sweet. It almost tastes like a thick egg custard filling. We ended up eating that last because we consider it a dessert bun. The pan fried buns have such a unique taste to them. It's soft on the top and crispy on the bottom and almost tastes like a Chinese donut with juicy pork in the inside. We really liked the house one. Location is very small, unassuming and quietly situated next to a Banh mi and Kebab spot. So a variety of choices for you. Great food awaits you as you enter. Imagine a thicker Green Onion Pancake carrying diced season pork belly fried till crispy (bacon makes everything better) subtle hint, mixed with onions, jalapeños and cilantro. This is exactly what you get, must love spicy food. Pan Fried Dumplings are a mix of XLB and pan fried Bao. Inside you will find finely minced pork seasoned well with a steamy hot soup inside. Poke some holes to let it cool before taking a bite and add some vinegar to balance out the saltiness is my method. Mmm, who could not be happy. Small in quantity and the plate it comes in is very shallow, but besides the sausage, the accompanying veggies was peas and carrots like the kind you find as a frozen veggie medley.
