The owner and staff are extremely helpful, welcoming, and kind. He even gave my mom a free falooda upon hearing it is her birthday soon! The overall set up and concept of the store is also very innovative and lively, while still upholding the traditional essence of Bundoo Khan. The food was very flavourful and it felt as if we were back in Pakistan for a few short hours. The meat items (chicken tikka, bihari kabob, seekh kabob) were tender, juicy, tasty, and cooked very well. The dessert items were delicious and very authentic, particularly the kulfi and gajar halwa. While visiting the area and yearning for some authentic Pakistani food, I came here for kabob... this was some of the best kabob I've had in a long time. All the meats were tender and flavorful, while also being perfectly spiced! The naan was really nice and also didn't come with oil or butter on them - which is what I prefer. Their yogurt chutney was nicely done and the service was actually pretty decent, especially considering they were very busy when we stopped in. This place get packed, so get there early! Oh this place was delicious!!!!!! I can't get over how good their tandoori chicken was and I think it's the best we have ever had! Super moist and cooked perfect! Lamb chops were so good we got a 2nd order. You can tell it's been marinated well by how tender it was. The both kabobs were also good not bad but not my fav. Bihari kabob was ok, not a huge fan and the Faluda - best way to end the night! The Paratha was a bit on the oily side but I think I liked it better than the naan. Food was not good at all. Chicken malai tikka was not cooked properly it was raw inside. As well as lamb chop was half burned and raw inside. porata was too crispy. Garlic nan was too hard. We were missing items and had to keep asking for the missing dishes. While serving food the cashier never mentioned that some dishes were missing. We had to figure out ourselves the which and how many missing dishes. And especially the cashier was not friendly at all. She was getting annoyed while taking because our order was big. I grew up eating at the original Bundoo Khan in Karachi. So many good memories with my family tied to this food! Eating hot, spicy, and delicious food while fending off feral cats off your feet - iykyk :) I was super excited to try Bundoo Khan and catered their food for my son's birthday party. Order process was simple via their website and food portions were fair. They packaged everything really well and ensured the order was ready in time. We liked some items over others, but that was to be expected. 1. Halwa Poori : 5/5 - freakin delicious 2. Keema: 3/5 - totally pass. 3. Seekh kabab: 4.5/5 - really good with chutney 4. Chicken boti : 4/5 - good but could have been more flavorful & was slightly dry. 5. Malai Chicken: 3/5 - 1st time in my life trying this dish and maybe I just simply don't like it. 6. Never had Pakistani bbq so I was excited to give this place a try! I love Pakistani food & this seemed like it was hyped up. After all, the chefs were trained in Pakistan before opening this first ever US location. Supposedly, this joint is just as authentic as the OG spot Al Haaj Bundoo Khan. We came on a Sunday evening - place was packed! Even the outside tables, there were barely any seating. The inside was a zoo. Very chaotic but the aromas were fragrant. I didn't like how the menus were when standing in line.. they were placed at the end near the register & I felt rushed in making a decision. We both ended up getting the chicken tikka & paratha + fountain drink. Total was a little over $20 - price is to be expected for hand slaughtered halal meat. Despite how busy it was, we did not wait long at all for our food. The chicken was marinated well, but was so dry!! I didn't enjoy the dryness. Also didn't enjoy picking the meat off the bone. The paratha was interesting - never had the Pakistani version only Malay. This was good, but tasted more like a dessert - had a hint of cinnamon. The sauces were interesting. The one I wanted to try was out so bummer that was empty. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with this place. I just was not satisfied with dry chicken & I could get better elsewhere. I am glad something close to pakistani taste is opened here in LA.. I would say best bbq in socal if you are comparing.. The paratha is 10/10 just like back home. Chicken Malai boti and bihari kabab are the most flavorful and the taste is almost like back home. I didn't like Seekh kabab and tikka much.. I had better ones. And halwa puri breakfast was just okay.. like 5/10.. I can make better at home. Besides that love the chutney..pretty authentic taste. And love the Falooda I just wish they add more jello to it but it taste pretty bomb. Everyone in my family likes the halwa as well.. so I will give 7/10 to that. read more

Bundoo Khan is synonymous with authentic Pakistani BBQ and has been around since the 1950s in Pakistan. I was happy to see that they opened up this location in Fullerton, across the street from Cal State Fullerton. They serve grilled HALAL meats here as well as naan and parathas. For dessert they offer halwa, although they have partnered with Scoops and Scoops creamery which has their own menu offerings. I was eager to try everything on the menu here, so that's what I did, lol. Chicken Malai Boti ($11) - These boneless pieces of chicken were prepared in a rich and creamy marinade offering a really wonderful flavor profile. I was surprised at how tender the chicken was, it practically melted in my mouth and was my favorite dish of the night. Beef Bihari Boti ($11) - I was surprised at how tender the beef was. It too melted in my mouth like the chicken malai boti but the taste and spices used were completely different, providing another great tasting dish for all of my senses. Lamb chops ($13 for 5) - I love lamb and these lamb chops were so tender and juicy. The spices used here really made the lamb stand out. They were perfectly prepared and as I got closer to the bone the meat because so soft, it was almost as soft as the beef bihari kabobs. Chicken Tikka Bihari Leg/Thigh ($7) - This bone-in chicken leg quarter utilized some great spices and the meat was perfectly cooked. It was definitely more tender then other places serving tandoori chicken. Beef Seekh Kabob (12 pieces for $11) / Chicken Seekh Kabob (6 pieces for $6) - The seekh kabobs here are small and juicy, but aren't as flavorful as some of the other marinated meats. However for the price this is an excellent value! The beef seekh kabobs were slightly juicier than the chicken ones. Halwa ($5) - This is the best Pakistani/India halwa I have had in Southern California. It's got the perfect blend of semolina, sugar, and ghee. It's best to eat this with some paratha and has the perfect amount of sweetness. Naan ($2) -The naan here are on the thinner side and there was nothing special about them. Pricing is about average, but your going to have to get some to go with all the meats as rice is not served here. Paratha ($3) - The parathas here are big and are almost puri like. They went perfectly with the halwa as well as the seekh kabobs. Overall I was wowed by all the great tasting dishes here. There is so much variety here in terms of the kabobs. Each one is marinated differently and has its own unique taste. All of my senses are in a complete sense of bliss, having eaten my meal several hours earlier. Without a doubt, Bundoo Khan is one of the best Pakistani restaurants in Southern California. The food here is phenomenal and I'm glad to see authentic Pakistani BBQ cuisine. The restaurant itself is large and able to accommodate quite a few guests with some outdoor seating as well. While this visit was on the 2nd day and crowds and logistics were a little out of whack, things will definitely improve in the next week or two, once their online ordering system is operational. Okay so this is a 3 star waiting to go to a 5. I'll share our entire experience. Food items that were cooked were amazing. Plenty of parking outside and super clean inside. Completely not covid-19 friendly because of customers, not the staff. They are super friendly and have done their part but customers are showing up without masks and crowding, no 6 feet rule is being followed. Given this was only their second day of operation, this will hopefully get better. Again the restaurant has done all of their part being clean and managing the cleanliness of desi people (kudos to them for that). We waited about 1.5 hours from the time spent in line, ordering and then receiving our food. The temperature of the food once it came to us was cold. They are extremely overwhelmed with the rush. They sold out yesterday on opening day and again today. Food rating Bihari kabob (10/10) - for the parts that were cooked properly, it was awesome. But about half of our plate was undercooked. The masala is a perfect blend of spice and flavor and this is what I have been looking for here for a very long time. Gola kabob (7/10) - this was also pretty good in taste as it had flavor and basically only meat dish that was cooked fully. The kabobs were moist and good in size. Chicken seekh kabob (5/10) - this was also flavorful and juicy but super salty at the same time. Unfortunately I could tell the parts that were raw vs cooked. They will need to work on their consistency, big time. Paratha (10/10) - we were surprised by the size of this thing. Fresh and cooked to perfection. Oily goodness, flaky. Naan (5/10) - this was the most blah thing on the menu. Super thin and not really needed. I would suggest get the paratha. We ordered a malai boti kabob roll but never got around to trying it. The food quantity vs. Price was very reasonable. I am going to be back very soon and hoping the lines and wait times settle down. I also hope they get the proper time to cook their stuff. For a weekday night, Bundoo Khan was packed! There wasn't a single empty seat in sight. The aroma of kabobs and spices filled the restaurant. My family ordered half the menu after seeing all the juicy kabobs coming off the grill. Our mouths were literally watering as we were standing in line waiting to order. Visually, everything looked delicious and it was a really good price point. The Scoops dessert menu also looked delicious and necessary since the kabobs are super spicy. We ordered the chicken and beef sheesh kabobs, Bihari beef, chicken malai boti, and the chicken tikka. My mouth was on FIRE. The kabobs were wayyyy too spicy for me and I have a decent spice tolerance. The chicken tikka was the only one that was more mild spice. The scoops dessert is an essential pair to combat the spiciness. We ordered the Original Falooda, pistachio falooda, Mango Lassi, Malai Kulfi, and Mango Ice Cream.... It seems like a lot but it was all essential to cool down my tastebuds. The original falooda was phenomenal! My south Asian parents loved it and said it was one of the best they have ever had in the US. I also loved the mango ice cream. Stick with the chicken tikka. Chicken tikka leg and thigh was great but my overall experience was ruined by the other dish I got that ended up being mushy and gross. I'm not sure if the boti kebab items were meant to have a mushy texture but I personally was not a fan. The outer layer of my chicken boti had disintegrated and turned into a paste. Hopefully they change the marination process so the chicken isn't sitting in the marinade for such a long time that it ends up turning into mush. read more

I'm not sure sure if it's supposed to taste like that but I didn't like the strong citrus taste. Additionally, the sauces didn't counteract the citrus taste. Clean place. Mostly Latino cooks but the predominant divers are Pakistani or Indian. The place is clean and I like how they have the to go boxes, utensils , napkins and condiments all in one spot. The drink station looks good. I was excited to see a tamarind chutney and Raita there as u can take as many as you want. One problem , both taste bad and very sour and watery. Not good. We ordered the BBQ chicken breast which is very good. And got the signature Seeth beef which was terrible. Pass up on this one. Price has increased $2 so now it's $14 and only comes with a few slices of cucumber and onions. Not worth the cost. We also got the basmati rice and garlic naan. Garlic naan was excellent. This place is true to its flavor, authentic desi kebabs and tikka. The tenderness of any chicken dish you order tells you about the proper marination. My favorite is malai chicken boti which is absolutely amazing , we ordered it twice. Seekh kebabs are also perfectly cooked, absolutely loved it. Garlic naan and simple naan were made to order and went amazing with spicy kebabs dipped in mint yogurt. I didn't like paratha too much but that's just an opinion. Chutney was too watered down and first time I've seen it dispensed next to the drinks. A lot of ABCD crowd that loves this stuff as they don't know better.
