Still one of the "newer" brewers in Portland Belleflower has quickly made a name for themselves brewing multiple styles and of course soft, juicy NE IPAs. I've been drinking their beers on distro for a minute and wanted to get to the source so I stopped in on road trip. Got there around 5:30 on a Saturday and caught the tail end of what appeared to be a very busy afternoon. There was zero room inside the smaller tap room at first but some space opened up after around 1/2 an hour. There was plenty of parking and it was free; a big plus in Portland. There is also a large amount of outdoor seating for the nicer weather. The servers were all knowledgeable and friendly. The beers were all good throughout the different styles. Nothing was truly outstanding but nothing was off putting either. A solid all around brewery. Overall, it's definitely a place I would revisit on my next trip to Portland.

We went to 5 different breweries while visiting Portland and this was our hands down favorite. I was suprised to love a dark beer so much, but the chocolatey stout stole my heart. While I am a big fan of flights -- which they don't do -- we made up for it with the half pours of beers they offer. Peefect for tasting and exploring! The outdoor seating was also really nice and certainly full on a nice fall day in October.

Belleflower was highly recommended , so we had to stop in and we were not disappointed. It is a very warm, friendly environment. The servers were patient and nice, as our group decided what we wanted. They have many IPAs to select from , along with other varieties. Our group tried the Kolsch , the Farmhouse a Lager. They also had ciders and non- alcoholic options. They have a large area with outdoor seating and indoor. There was a food truck when we visited. Highly recommend .

I visited many breweries in Portland and this was my favorite! The best hazy IPA I found. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the outdoor seating with live music was ideal on a nice summer day!

Fantastic brewery with lots of great beer options, I am not a beer drinker but my friends loved being able to try all the different offerings. They also have many non-alcoholic options, ciders and other "guest pours". Loved being able to sit outside in their outdoor space. We were here for a wedding "welcome party" and it accommodated a large group really well.

We enjoyed our visit here and one of the best breweries we went to around the area! The beers had distinct flavors and they were blended smoothly. Vibe was also excellent - clean and bright. Would recommend!

Too many good hazy beers to try by oneself so pace yourself and bring friends. Sat inside and tried many of their IPA's and sour beers. Cool logo and stickers. Parking was free out back behind brewery.

Like most craft breweries in the Portland area, the offerings are heavy on the IPAs, which sadly I'm not a fan of, but they had several other creative options including a couple of lagers, a couple of stouts and a porter, a couple of sours, and a vanilla chai blonde ale. There are also several guest beverages for those who aren't a fan of beer (?!) - vodka drinks from Mast Landing, hard ciders and red and white wine. In other words there is something for everyone. Love the plentiful parking, the variety of seating options (though I wish there were more cushy options), the pleasant service, and the chill music. Nice place to spend the afternoon with friends.

Beer is tasty. Service good. Outdoor seating is plentiful. Dog hair on the cushions:( but still nice patio space.

    Cozy wall up service.

5 stars. No frills. Quaint and cozy. Good choice of beers and wine. Service is friendly and attentive. Non alcoholic options available. Plenty of street parking. Walking distance from downtown. Nice quiet neighborhood ish location. Plenty of take home options as well. Outdoor and indoor seating. 8oz $5 and full pour $8. No flights. Highly recommended for a chill afternoon or evening. Open till 8:00pm except Sundays till 7pm.

Sweet!! And delicious I went right up to the staff and asked for something on the sweeter side like a complete newbie~ and the person gave me a good recommendation and didn't make me nervous about asking this silly question of mine in a brewery. I truly enjoyed the Nebula sour! This place felt very casual with lots of people around, but not crowded~ music was chill and they had a cool food truck call The Great Wave! Delicious late afternoon stop.

Great brewery with a large outdoor space. There was an Oktoberfest party back there which was cool. Beers were great.

Wow, what a place. Only reason for four stars instead of five is that they don't have a regular food program. But man, are their beers fantastic. The space is very relaxed, the staff is just as fantastic (Katie was great), they have half pours for easy tasting, they have easy parking, and they have nice outdoor seating too. But the beer. Superb. The Star: very bright and citrusy, very drinkable. The Sun: similarly citrusy but creamier. The Moon: slightly less citrusy, creamy, malty, balanced. Among the best I've had. Loved all of them.

Had no idea all three were located here, pleasant surprise. I enjoy Allagash white so we decided to stop in. The campus is a good size with gigantic tanks no doubt filled with liquid gold! Outdoor seating area with fire pits for warmer weather enjoyment. Entrance had a woodsy feel to it with signage that was clear to read. In the courtyard you choose which way to go; right heads into the outside beer garden and left brings you inside the brewery and gift shop. Beer garden for us. Seeing that it was covered by a tent thought for sure it was going to be cold inside , we were pleasantly surprised! Decor was paper chains and tissue paper hearts for Valentine's season. They had a creative station for folks to make their own Valentines. Also in the same area was a game bookshelf filled with board and card games to play. At the bar was a young man smiling as he welcomed us. We read the menu and for something different I chose "Cabin Weekend" the name reminded me of our camp in the Western mountains. We both enjoy whiskey so thought the aged barrels used for this brew would make a tasty treat. Grabbed our beers and then over to the food truck attached to the tent, clever. Bite into Maine is the food truck here today, unsure if different trucks come here or not. We wanted something small and shareable. Mac and cheese it was. We sat down at one of the many empty tables and began to enjoy our beers and food. Cabin weekend was so delicious! It was a strong onto 8.9%! Tasty with the faintest hint of whiskey and a cabin feel for the finish. The Mac and cheese was dense and rich!! The fork could practically stand upon its own! It was good in my opinion however don't think I could have finished the portion in my own. We enjoyed so much we will be back for some to bring away with us to our cabin in the woods.

Several more visits since my last review…read more Some things haven't changed: -- The beers are still great. Swish, Here's to Feeling Good All the Time, Nothing Gold, and Reciprocal are a formidable foursome. At any given time, you can usually get at least two, more often three, sometimes all four. -- You'd be hard pressed (pun intended) to find a better smashburger in Portland, but I'd also put it up against any regularly-offered burger I've had in Portland--smashed or otherwise. I love everything about it, from the high caliber of the beef to the fresh pillowy milk bun to the exhilaratingly strong cure of the bacon to the razor-thin cutting of the vegetables to the execution that gets even a smashburger burger juicy. -- I'm still not crazy about the wings. They have a frozen dinner feel to them. A few things, though, have changed: -- Full service now instead of having to order everything at the bar. That's a plus. -- The place is much more crowded-- including screaming tykes-- on the weekends. Not a plus, but can't fault a place for its own popularity. -- The fries are now the industrial strength coated kind. A big minus and a sad drop off from prior greatness, but better that than from an item off the main cast. -- You can now order beer cans to go from the table rather than having to get in line. A nice convenience. A few things to know: -- It's a surprisingly good option for vegetarians and pescatarians. The veggie burger and the grilled fish sandwich are both much more than solid. -- There's outdoor seating in front of the building and also to the right. -- The bar room to the right of the entrance is adults only, so if those screaming tykes get on your nerves, this is the place to be. -- You can still order beer at the bar if that's your preference over table service. Still a favorite, and the combo of beer, food, and space is tough to beat (Mast Landing and Maine Beer in Freeport are also somewhere in that echelon).

As an IPA fan I enjoyed this new version very much for its hop saturated citrusy forward taste that drank quite smooth for the 9.5%. At this point now Bissell is broken into two separate parts. The first will be the space welcoming to families and is more of their restaurant style area. Appeared to be a popular area and does offer reservations. My preferred area is the Bissell Garden as they call it. Those entering need to be of drinking age and have more lounge vibes where you order at the bar. It still offers full kitchen menu so is perfect. Particularly my favorite is snagging bar stools to grab some beers and food. I had to try out the Super Swish while my wife grabbed their red ale named Turnpike. Then food wise we split their kitchen special Classic Poutine. Some of the best classic kept simple poutine I have had. The perfect comfort food for yet another cold weather day in Maine. Have been impressed by all the food from Bissell. Truly the only negative still stands being the fact it's on Thompson's Point and required paid parking (not Bissell Brothers call but still). One of the most popular Maine breweries for a reason especially in the IPA game. Give all their other style of beers a try too though, top notch brewery!

I enjoyed their first location but let's be real this space is more unique and larger! Been to this spot many a times including earlier today. They still have an industrial feel to the place but have so many plants all around to brighten the spot up. Inside while beautiful I must say the true highlight is during warm weather with their large garage doors open. It also adds tons of additional seating to enjoy the weather too! Staff is always so friendly and ready to pour your drink with a smile. Beer wise they have a large variety including IPAs, pale ales, lagers, and sours. Including a special release each year made for International Women's.For non-beer drinkers don't fret, you can find wine, ciders, seltzers, cocktails, and plenty of non-alcoholic options. They also offer some snacks and frequently have food trucks/carts serving as well. With a lot of events scheduled too, including today that was a Summer Puppy Pool Party so as you can tell they are dog friendly. One of the many amazing breweries in this area of Portland. Well made beers with enough options for everyone to enjoy a drink even non beer fans. A place that supports many good charities/causes and hosts lots of events.
