So where do I begin? Let's start with the venue... I enjoyed checking out the different walls of this restaurant. Definitely brought back memories. Parts of cars & lots of signage throughout the building. I loved the wood fired pizza oven in one corner of the building. As far as food goes I'll have to rank this place as one of the best I've been to. I had lunch with a friend of mine and we enjoy trying out different restaurants around the Capital District. My friend rated Uncle Mario's as the best we've been to for our lunches. Now to the food.... We ordered a pizza with sausage and a Corvette which is a Rubin. We both agreed that the pizza was great (we're both from NYC area so we know our pizzas)! The Rubin was packed on with really tasty pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and we asked for mustard instead of thousand islands dressing. Our waitress was very courteous and pleasant, came back multiple times to ask how things were. She kept our glasses full, no problem. We found the pricing extremely reasonable. So overall.... As a restaurant patron we don't ask for much, good service, good hot food prepared the way it was requested and if the order is wrong fix it timely and maybe even offer a discount or something off the bill. Recently my wife order the grilled chicken sandwich, she asked for barbecue sauce instead of the balsamic glaze and she wanted it on the side. She asked for coleslaw not the fries. After waiting 50 mins for a pizza and the sandwich it came with balsamic ON the sandwich, no barbecue sauce and no coleslaw but she got fries. The waitress disappeared and when she finally came back we told her about the error and she went to the kitchen to order another sandwich. She came out of the kitchen with barbecue sauce and a side of coleslaw and said " the kitchen said they will remake the order and it will take 3-5 mins". We knew it would take longer than that but when it finally came out it was 25 mins later and it was now a to go order? Bread in a plastic container gets soggy and she brought us fries to go as well. We now had been in the restaurant for 1.5 hrs and my wife didn't eat a bite of her food. The waitress brought the bill verbally apologized but no one offered a gift card, discount or how about take the sandwich off the bill? Nothing! We paid the bill and asked for a manager when we left at the bar and the barmaid said she's busy because she was on the phone. I waited another 5 minutes now pushing nearly two hrs in this restaurant so I just left. Note to the owner, teach your team how to handle blown food orders. Don't leave kids in charge of your establishment. And teach the kitchen how to read the orders and not to prepare them like they are listed in the menu. Sometimes customers want to change things up. Do better we are locals and want to eat local but with service like this in many places in the Queensbury area we are running out of food options. read more

My daughter and I was heading out to Caldwell steak house just down the road and they were taking reservations only... so I remembered this place only minutes away and I gotta tell ya... it was the best choice!!! It was my daughter's first time here and she was impressed with the theme of the place , the ambience. As soon as we entered the place the hosted greeted us like we were VIP!!! We decided to sit outside and sat right by a live band... It was what my daughter wanted in the first place ... the weather was perfect and the crowd was vibing with the band . This is an old style burger joint with upscale offering. Burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and some nice meals offered. They have full bar and specialty cocktails. About 6 or 8 beers on tap. Visited Uncle Mario's recently to meet friends for dinner. We sat at a high top in the bar area and had a great server. The place is huge and there were a couple of larger tables in the cavernous dining room. We shared an order of mozzarella sticks-these were pretty good (just regular sticks). I had a MYO pizza: I chose onions and pineapple (don't judge me if you're anti-fruit on your pizza!). Pizza was made to order and pretty good. Four of us went to Mario's Garage for Father's Day lunch. Arrived and sat outside by the bar area. Nice table and waitress was attentive. We ordered drinks which were good. When our main order came out one of the entries which was a turkey club was made with burnt toast. I mean heavily burnt. We informed the waitress and it was sent back. She returned with the club and served it to us. The club was still burnt on the inside of the bread pieces and upon further observation it was discovered that the staff had scraped the outside of the bread on the sandwich and reserved it. Decor from the adjacent property owned by Mario's garage decorated the space with hightop tables outside, rough edged wood tables and very comfortable seating inside. The service was sporadic and flustered I'm assuming because of being newly opened... We shared Sidecar Salad $11 salad with grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots and Lamborghini $16 pulled pork with coleslaw pickles on bun was good but a little salty. Some of our friends ordered woodfired pizza in which they commented was a bit too charred. We ordered drinks beer and wine but the bar didn't put then on the bill and after telling our waitress didn't add them so we tipped her well! The band Dirt Cheap... playing sounded great All in all we enjoyed our first time here... they have some kinks to work out but was a great add to Queensbury food entertainment venue. read more

Two people on a Sunday at 3:30pm. The good...seated quickly and server arrived immediately to offer drinks. And the food was good. The bad...server brought one incorrect beverage and then told us they have only a "limited fried food menu" on Sundays from 3-4pm as the kitchen transitions from brunch to dinner. The website did not indicate this, so we waited until 4pm to place our order. While we waited, several severs and kitchen staff dragged large bags of garbage right by us from the kitchen through the bar area and out a back door. Kinda gross. I'd go back. read more

The Food was excellent and the server Lisa D. was very exceptional! She went out of her way to make our first experience there awesome! We actually got to meet uncle Mario, and he was very nice. Watched him go around the restaurant, helping the girls clean up and handing out little rubber duckies to the kids. The atmosphere was very comfortable and like I said the food was excellent. The nitro meatballs were and the pizza is to die for we will definitely be back for more and bring friends. we did go upstairs and got a couple of truffles and looked around some pretty cool stuff. read more

My experience reflects some of the other negative ones found here. Not sure if these folks were having an off-night, but we left underwhelmed and disappointed. Initially, we were thrilled to try this place, myself especially, given the vintage automotive theme. Firstly, the long wait gave us high hopes that this place was phenomenal. All of the petroleana was exciting for me as an automotive enthusiast. The tables, beams, etc. were all beautiful wood. We opted to wait given the hype around us. We were seated after 45 minutes. I was pleased that the beer list featured a lot of local breweries. My wife was pleased with her local Wine. I ordered the BMW pizza. She ordered a specialty burger. From here, things went downhill...30 minutes, food still had not arrived. Our drinks were empty and we wanted to order another. At 45 minutes, requested another beer and was told by the waitress that food would be out shortly. At 55 minutes, the waitress arrived with my pizza and without my wife's dinner. She then explained that they failed to enter the order for my wife's meal. My wife and I ate the pizza together, as she was starving and I was never going to eat without her having her meal. The pizza was, in fact, very good. When the burger, ordered as medium arrived, it was literally bleeding all over the plate. Sorry, but cooking a burger to the proper temp is pretty basic in my book. Fair crowd for a chilly Thursday night; definitely an older crowd but nothing wrong with that. Seating and service was quick. Watching the pizza pro do his thing was interesting but please, wear gloves when you're dressing the final product. Enjoyed a Ranch Water while my husband had Fiddlehead craft beer. Menu is typical pizza, burgers/sandwiches and a few specials. Couple of kids near us were eating wings that looked plump and delicious. This place is so clean and had something cool to see at every turn. Food was good, typical American cuisine. We got the pretzels for an app, pass on the cheese it tastes like it came from a can. My son got a kids burger with fries, I got Mac and cheese with bacon and husband got a burger with sweet potato fries. All yummy! Husband got an Old Fashioned with Knob Creek. It was yummy. If the Three Stooges were running this restaurant it could not be worse. Ordered a wood fired pizza, a salad and two ice teas. Ice teas came out quickly, and were fresh. As we waited and waited for our pizza and salad, we asked the waiter (young man, nice but clueless) for refills. Had to ask as he was never going to come by and ask. He brought out two glasses of warm ice teas came, no ice. We watched as pizzas came out, and often they spent five plus minutes for wait staff to pick up. We were watching, what was our pizza getting its balsamic topping. Oops, spilled some on 2 slices. No worry, just,pat it dry. So what if it soaked thru those 2 slices. We mentioned to our waiter that our pizza was sitting there. He brought the wrong one. He then delivered the right one. We looked at it and said "we're not eating that." Young waiters running around with absolutely no, none, zip training. Where is management? We left after eating the salad. Never again. As we left we looked at the front windows. Dirty. Stopped in for lunch and we found a fun pizza restaurant. The wood fired oven cooked a true Neopolitan style pizza. The place was decorated with car body parts from the 50's and 70's. We sat at the bar and which had a model train encased in epoxy. The Bartender was very personable and made for a very enjoyable experience. My mother and her boyfriend went for valentines day for the prime rib dinner that started at 4pm and by 5:15 they were all sold out. Which is understandable kind of. Instead of leaving they decided to stay and try the food for the first time. They ended up getting small portions and also very over cooked vegs. The pasta was alfredo which was just clumps for cheese sauce on top of dry pasta. The best part of their dinner was the glass of wine that came from a bottle. Their bill ended up being 140.00 for food that was not edible. My mothers borfriend drove an hour and half just for this dinner. He said he will never go back. I went with friends for dinner and drinks this past Thursday evening for the first time. We try different local restaurants every month. Unfortunately, this was a disappointment for me. Our waitress was a lovely young lady and apologized for being slow. Apparently, they expected to be slow because of the local Balloon Festival and only had two waitresses on shift. We sat on the lovely patio and that was the hilight. We each ordered a glass of wine and it came in a small and clear plastic cup. I get that we were on a cement patio but we have been to many places like this that still use real wine glasses. The house wine was $13 a "cup". My biggest disappointment was the Lobster roll special. I specifically asked if it was a good amount of Lobster and the waitress said the ones she had served were heaping over the top of the brioche roll. That is not what I received. The bun was 6" long and had a minimal amount of Lobster. The waitress apologized and said she would get me more, twice, but it never came. A discount was never offered and I did not ask. Service: Jenn was excellent. Professional, personable, attentive to all our needs throughout our meal. Wine pour was as good as any in the area. Glass full of wine at reasonable prices. Far and away the best Ruben in the area. Large tables far enough apart so you are not part of the next tables conversation and the chairs are comfortable Now the little details, maybe a little picky, and will certainly go back to give it another try. Mozzarella sticks are those large square ones but were not fully cooked. Hamburger was a tasteless patty. The tomato slice was see through and the fries were not quite cooked entirely. Ordering a side of onion rings, which were tasty, meant 4 onion rings. Atmosphere and decor are a work in progress and I believe when they are done there will be many eye catching things to see. The atmosphere is fun and there is a good selection of local beer. The appetizers, salads and pizza were all great! It's ok at best. We went for the wood fried pizza. It can out in about 7 minutes. Nothing said wood fried at all. Barely cooked crust. Looked like an oven cooked pizza. We also asked if we could get a half an order of chicken wings for an appetizer (instead of a full order of 10 wings at $19 and the response from the bartender was no.) So no appetizer order placed. Great vibe when we walked up! Live music, outdoor seating and plenty of lights and people! Their specials were downhome dinners you'd make at home. I ordered uncle Mario's balsamic chicken. It didn't disappoint! Two chicken breasts smothered in spinach, black olives, balsamic glaze and finished with creamy goat cheese goodness, real mashed potatoes with a side of baby carrots and green beans. Went for lunch after the Great Escape today. Food was excellent, and beer was ice cold. Service was excellent! Very clean!

I believe I must of waited almost 20 minutes at the door just to give my name for a table and there was only two other people in front of me. I finally gave my name and was told 30 minutes wait, we decided to wait it out cause I saw lots of tables open or opening up and I didn't think it would take that long. It didn't, about 10 minutes later we were called for a table. So it took longer to give my name then to wait for a table. We sat down and then nothing. Not a word or look from any of the staff. Not a "I'll be right with you", no water brought over and I saw staff that looked like they had time to wait on us. The hostess never came to make sure we were being attended to either. After another 15 minutes, maybe even 20 we put our coats back on and all walked out and no one said a word to us. They have live music but when the band is so loud you can't talk to a person across the table without shouting then that makes it no fun at all. I have spoken to 3 other people who have had the same experience there. I will never go back and will not recommend to anyone. read more
