Excellent wild caught seafood, delicious preparation, in a 'down home' place with friendly service. Best seafood in area!

I was on a ski trip staying in Lake George and I needed to grab some dinner, having done some advanced scouting on Yelp Adirondack Seafood had caught my eye. A fairly short drive brought me to this little seafood shack; it is located in what seemed to be a kind of out of the way neighborhood. From the outside it looks charming, just a nice New England hang out; inside is even better with 2 compact dining rooms decorated with a nautical theme and a metal roof. When I arrived at about 6 on a Friday night the place was almost full with a couple of larger parties enjoying themselves. The menu is great for me since it is almost exclusively fish and seafood, with a good selection of preparations; even better there was another page of specials that are a bit more upscale. Since I was hungry and just wanted to keep it simple I choose the all you can eat fish fry off the menu. Considering how busy the restaurant was my meal came out in about 10 minutes. A nice basket with 4 fish fillets, fries and coleslaw. The highlight was clearly the fish with perfectly cooked moist white fish in a great batter with just enough spices to perk the fish up. The fish was so good that I actually finished the 4 fillets and then got 2 more. The fries were very thin cut and crispy. The coleslaw is what you would expect, good but nothing special. I was very impressed with Adirondack Seafood, the fish was excellent and the sides were good. The price was reasonable and the portions were generous. Service was good and the atmosphere is charming and fun. I would strongly recommend giving them a try. About the only downside is that outside of fish and seafood there are not a lot of choices; not an issue for a pescetarian like me but could be an issue for those who are serious carnivores. read more

This quaint little place to eat great seafood. The interior and finishings are like being in a by the sea cafe. Waitresses were right on is with fast efficient service and ordering. Start out with a cup or bowl of the seafood chowder. Steaming hot and delicious. Next came main courses of large bowls of Seafood linguine. Large Shrimp cocktail. Broiled large shrimp and fried large shrimp baskets. Last was my Jenga Tower. 7 kinds of seafood stacked on a skewer. All the sauces were provided. All food was hot , fresh, and delicious. Dessert was strawberry rhubarb crisp a la mode. Key lime pie. And New York Cheese cake with cherries topping. All desserts also came with ample piles of homemade whipped cream as topping. This is a home town favourite and wonderful place to eat. $$ per person. A sure fire place to eat great seafood in a quiet but friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. read more

Lobster Rolls to take out were a welcome reminder of my growing up in Maine. Lots of big chunks of lobster and a light creamy sauce in a fresh bun. Coleslaw was just right. Not too vinegary, not to sweet and most importantly not overwhelmingly cabbage. Service for takeout was fast and pleasant. The Glenwood site has a big fish case and two tables .. for me for taking out just great. If you want a dining room go to the River Street location. PS this may be the only place in hundreds of miles you can get good whole belly fried clams. Ambience very much like a clam shack we used to go to outside of Pine Point Maine growing up some 50 years ago but this has a much bigger menu. GO ! read more

I was disappointed in my dinner but it may have been an odd night. Don't know but I'm not anxious to go back. (No comparison to Ted's Fish Fry -the Best). I ordered the foot-long fish fry and it was ridiculously skinny, whatever fish was in it was dry and the "crust" had no flavor. Neither did the tartar sauce. We read all the rave reviews and knew we had to try this place. It sure was crowded with lots of locals too. We waited for about 1/2 hour to be seated. This is the quintessential seafood shack. It reminds me of May places along the New England coast. Atmosphere is 5 stars and food 31/2 stars. The waitstaff were all super friendly and welcoming. We started with a classic New England Clam Chowder. It was rich and creamy with large chunks of potatoes and sizable pieces of clam. They were out of fresh lobster for the evening. I ordered a stack of seafood on an English Muffin (can't remember the name). It was a big wooden skewer plate of mostly fried seafood. I would have ordered differently if I realized it was fried. My favorite bites were the whole belly clams and the crab cake. The small pieces of lobster included were bland (to be fair they told us they didn't have any fresh whole lobsters) and the fried crab was mushy. It came with a side dish and I chose rice. rice. My husband's Cioppino had mussels, shrimp and clams with red sauce over pasta. He licked the plate clean. If I came back I would probably order a whole piece of broiled fish. They are attached to a fish market. It was hopping with customers doing takeout orders the whole time. The food is expensive but what isn't these days. read more

Really good seafood! I love going to Maine and Mass to get my lobster and seafood fix but saw this restaurant pop up on facebook and had to try. I went on a Saturday afternoon and tried the lobster roll, fried calamari and clam chowder. The chowder was thick with big clams and was quite tasty. The calami was lightly breaded and fresh, served with marinara sauce. It was a good portion for apps. The lobster roll (served hot or cold) was really good. The lobster was sweet and very little mayo and parsley. The meat was the main attraction. Small roll but there was good amount of claw meat. It was totally worth $30 for the roll. The place has a nautical motif and the waitress was friendly and the food came out fast and fresh. It feels like a new england seafood restaurant. 2 rolls, calamari and clam chowder came about $100 with tip. Will be going all summer. read more

The quality and quantity has become increasingly inconsistent. I understand why prices go up , however the portions should not be getting smaller and deleting items such as scallops from their "Seafood/Fishermans Platter". Also not getting the order correct for take away has become an issue. I have enjoyed this Establishment since its inception, but not so much lately. read more

Wow! What a great experience! We got seated right away. The decor is exactly what you would want in a seafood restaurant. Bathrooms were clean and they had lots of coloring books and stuff to keep kids busy. My husband had the hot lobster roll and I have the seafood platter which had 2 types of whitefish, shrimp and scallops (also rice and coleslaw). I chose to have it broiled but you can get it fried as well. My kids had a fried fish platter and a fried shrimp platter with fries. Everything was delicious and plentiful! The best surprise was that after we ate, our waitress informed us that's kids eat free. This was totally unexpected, especially because their meals were size-able and delicious! I can't wait to return. There were so many things on the menu I wish I could've tried so it will likely be many more return trips for me! read more

My bill at this place was $165 and all we ordered was 2 of the chicken fingers and 2 of the seafood Alfredo and none of it was any good, it had no flavor and the seafood was very disgusting. I will never eat here again. The price for that little of an amount of food was insane. read more

Super fresh seafood - but pricey; dozen oysters $36, the "Black Tower"( two scallops, three small shrimp, two small pieces of lobster claw meat and a small piece of haddock) blackened on a upright skewer mounted on a board was also $36. Plenty of sides; the coleslaw, baked potato and pasta were all delicious. We also enjoyed the whole belly clams. Far and away the best seafood. Service is personable and friendly and I love the cozy ambiance. I've read some of the miserable reviews about Adirondack Seafood and those people can go eat the toxic slop at The Red Lobster. That means more GOOD seafood for me! The owner handpicks the seafood and never picks anything that is subpar. So I don't care if it's served on "to-go" containers, it's clean, healthy food. read more

I wish I still had the cast-iron stomach for fried food like I did 20 years ago. If I did, I'd get Adirondack's all-you-can-eat fried fish dinner. But that's not the case these days, so I instead get their broiled, baked, or pan-blackened fish. It's no sacrifice, trust me. The last few times I've been here I've either ordered one of the baked fish items off the regular menu, or I've gotten a catch of the day, blackened. Every time, the seafood has been cooked just right. The rest of your dinner will be standard fare - potato or rice, salad or coleslaw, etc. But if you like horseradish, I highly recommend the coleslaw, which has a just-right "horseradish kick." I'm also pretty sure their iced tea is fresh-brewed as opposed to "industrial." The desserts are really good too, but unfortunately I'm usually too full to order one. read more

While driving through Hudson Falls, I stopped for lunch at the Adirondack Seafood Co, which offers full service dining and takeout. The place is cozy and rustic with the dining room in front and takeout/fresh seafood counter in the back. The cozy dining room cozy wooden floors and wood walls, decorated with framed paintings and sculptures by the owner, "painted" fish, and framed "Best of the Region" certificates. The menu offerings include fried and broiled seafood dinners, baskets, sandwiches, hot dogs, chowders, and homemade desserts. All you can eat fish fry is offered all day. The prices here are fair, lunch meals/sandwiches $7-$14 and dinners $15-$19. For takeout, I ordered the "Cape Horn" ($8), which is a fish sandwich and bowl of chowder. The service was pleasant. The New England clam chowder was good, which was very thick (easily passed the spoon test), rich and creamy with a good amount of potatoes and clams. The fish sandwich had crispy breaded pollack, lettuce, & tomato on a toasted bun, tartar sauce on the side. Delicious seafood, albeit in the foothills of the Adirondacks. The blackened tuna is superb, as is the blackened cod. The fried shellfish offerings are great, as is the fried fish entrees and sandwiches. Call ahead for best results, now that it's too cold to eat outside. Uhm, this place is amazing!! We came after the lunch crowd left so we had full run of the place. We each ordered cups of New England Clam and Manhattan Clam Chowder. Both tasted amazing, the Manhattan was a little spicy, but it tasted great! She had the Pan Blackened Haddock which was perfectly cooked and I had the Cape Horn, which was just white fish. I can't remember the last time I had seafood this good until I went here for dinner tonight! The food and service was outstanding. My mom had fettucine alfredo with shrimp and scallops and let me tell you, there was more seafood than pasta! It was delicious. I had the Fried Seafood Platter (shrimp, scallops, haddock and I think cod but I couldn't finish it!) Maine lobster bisque was so good and we ended the night with a slice of coconut carrot cake. WANT A SIDE OF COVID WITH YOUR SEAFOOD? Employees were NOT wearing masks. Manager said they don't have to (not true - NYS law requires that all food service employees wear masks). When we called back to ask about it, the owner said no they don't wear masks because every employee has a "medical condition" and that we should shop somewhere else if we care about masks.
