Me and my wife ordered the Detroit style pizza.type . Whatever it was called,it was the deep dish square slices . Was expecting really good pizza considering all of the good reviews. Three things that needed to be brought to attention.. 1. Crust was really chewy & doughy 2. Found a piece of some sort of hard substance. Could have been a small rock or bone inside sausage almost broke my tooth biting down on it . 3. Asked for extra sauce, hardly any was put on. All in all I was pretty disappointed I called back soon after I got home and the kid at the counter just said "oh sorry about that" and hung up on me. Smh. read more

My husband and I discovered Buonos about two months ago. From day one, the customer service impressed us. We were fortunate enough to meet and be served by one of the owners, Dave. He is just great and won us over with the most amazing Zeppolis. This quickly became our weekly hangout and our new favorite pizza place! Moved her to Arizona about a year ago. Ive found a couple other great pizza spots in the gilbert area thru the gilbert facebook page. I come here almost every Tuesday evening. So far everything I have tried here is great. The ravioli is amazing, the baked penne, I'm trying the lasagna next week. I usually order a white pizza with toppings because that pizza is so damn good. I got to meet and talk with one of the owners and he was a super cool guy. Gosh, I feel like I'm going to get flack for this review, but I want to be honest! We ordered Buono's pizza last Friday for dinner. I ordered a large thin crust with pepperoni and peppers, honey hot wings, and garlic knots. I got there a little late to pick up my pizzas and it ended up taking an extra 10 minutes. Despite ordering an hour ahead of time, my order took about 20 minutes longer than expected. Not a HUGE deal, but something I wanted to include. The pizza was just OK. Personally, it wasn't 5-star amazing, and maybe that's just my personal preference, but it just wasn't totally for me. It was SOOO greasy and I felt terrible after eating it. It didn't really seem like there was that much on it - sauce OR cheese. There were a normal amount of toppings. I think the crust could have been baked a little longer and maybe that would have helped? The price of a large two-topping pizza was almost $25. It just didn't really feel like a $25 pizza. Especially since it would have been well over $30 to get a few more toppings that maybe would have made it a little better. There weren't any preset topping combos, so to get something like a "specialty" pizza with a couple meats and veggies would get expensive very fast. The hot wings were pretty good and had a nice bite to them. The garlic knots were good while they were hot, but I grabbed one about a half hour later after they'd been sitting out and they we already pretty stiff and not tasty. Not every pizza place is for everyone. Buono's just wasn't for me and I won't go back, but it sounds like a lot of people really like it. Just personal preference! read more

Good pizza! I've never tried Buono's before and we wanted to try something new. We ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza (we did receive half cheese, but that's okay!), medium wings, and garlic knots. I think the wings could have had more sauce (see pic) and the garlic knots could have used more butter and garlic, but overall the food was great. read more
