Eh enjoy this place while it is still in business because it isn't going to last long ....firstly they messed up every part of our order despite us being the only people in there . My burger had cheese even tho I asked for no cheese , his burger was missing cheese , and my burger was also missing the fries. We had to get up four times to correct our order and collect the various pieces of our meal. My meat was extremely well done, singed to a crisp lol. They do not ask you how done you want your burger, so if you like rare or medium you are out of luck because it's gonna be beef jerky level dry! On top of that, the seats are very uncomfortable . I've gone past this place about a thousand times and figured I should give it a try. I ordered the B7 burger with fries and a strawnilla (half strawberry, half vanilla) milkshake. Service: The attendee at the cash register was reasonably nice. It did take her a good while to seem to notice that I was there while she was doing other things in the background, but that was fine. I actually thought all the people at the tables were just chatting and enjoying themselves when I first walked in, but I later realized that everyone except one family was waiting on their food--can't say that things are zippy around here, but then again, it's a "trendy" burger place and not McDonald's. I added caramelized onions to my burger order and was wondering if they had forgotten to add them when I discovered them after being about halfway through the burger. My food was just over lukewarm, which wasn't great considering that I waited for about 12 minutes for my order. The burger had this really odd (it was actually quite strange) massive piece of hard, white lettuce that was actually the only lettuce, which I wasn't a fan of. I have to say I LOVE that they do half-and-half milkshakes, but the shake tasted a bit artificial, even though I watched her pour Horizon organic milk into it...not sure what was up with that. The seasoning on the fries was well done, although again, the food's temperature put a damper on the whole thing. Ambience: This place has style for a burger joint, and a huge condiment and sauce bar for your enjoyment. I can't decide exactly how one would categorize their furniture, but it works. Altogether, I'll probably pass on Burger 7 next time, the way I've passed it by every week that I go to the Harris Teeter in the same complex. If this place has low ratings...it HAS to be because of the service which is pretty okay depending on who is working. Aside from this, every meal I've had from here SLAPS. I usually get their grilled cheese, fries, and a milkshake, and each time, it has been really good. The cheese is high quality, the fries are perfectly crispy, and the food comes out fast. The establishment is clean and well taken care of and their milkshakes are also great quality. I agree with the previous reviewer. While the food is good, this place is WAY overpriced. I am attaching a picture of the "regular" onion rings (with receipt) as evidence. You'll notice that the onion rings are $3.99, and you get a whopping 4 of them. So roughly translated - that's $1 per ring. Pretty steep, even by DC standards. The burgers are really good, although not completely filling, and like other reviewers have mentioned a family of 3 or 4 can rack up a bill north of $30 easily. Food = 3 stars. Value = 1 star. One of my favorite 'burger joints.' The reason is because they offer a bun-less burger (a lettuce bun). Double meat can be added. There are an assortment of toppings. Also, Burger 7 is quite affordable for what you get. The best thing is that the delivery order is ALWAYS neat and clean. Gone back a couple times and thought I might be really liking it. They are friendly and give good service. The fries are always cold, which shouldn't be an obstacle, it should be a given that fries are at least warm if they're your specialty. But anyways they dont pay attention to what you do or dont want on your order. It can say it on your receipt but it wont be right. The meat is just weird. I tried it 2 times recently and I couldn't even eat it the second time because it distinctly tasted like the elephant house at the zoo smells. Unfortunately they are not for me nor would I recommend. This was probably one of the worst burgers I've had, although the service was great. Very friendly staff that got the food out to me in under 10 mins. BUT I ordered carry out, and they handed me a greasy bag of food. They loaded the bottom of the bag with fries, and plopped the burger on top. It was super messy and gross. The fries were under-seasoned, but otherwise had a good consistency (similar to 5 Guys). The burger... ugh, what a terrible burger. First of all, the meat tasted old and it was over cooked/chewy. I added bacon to the burger, and found ONE super tough/rubbery strip under the bun. Overall, it was all just very unpleasant. Before I walked in, I was sceptical. I saw the low reviews, and didn't want to come in. But Hakim changed my mind. I ordered 2 burgers and 2 sides. 1 burger to go, and a to go box for a side, but empty. I don't want to be a problem with splitting sides, but Hakim knew exactly what I was doing, and offered to split the sides for me. After my last review I was contacted by the owner to come back and give them a try as they were under new management. My family and I did just that. We were greeted by the staff it was a very friendly welcoming. We placed our order almost exact as the 1st visit with the exception of missing one family member. Burger 7 not only has the most amazing burgers, but also the most AMAZING people working there!!!! I was craving my favorite burger so decided to go eat at the Duke St. location earlier today around 6pm. Upon arriving home at 11pm, I realize i'm missing my purse. In the middle of me panicking and trying to retrace my steps, I get a call from my front lobby. Turns out the owner @ Burger 7 had kept my purse safe ALL day and personally came to deliver it back to me after his long day at work had ended. Not only did he exhibit great and lively customer service while in the restaurant, but he is the perfect example of an amazing person outside as well. They serve out of order of who walks in and it doesn't ever seem that they know what they are doing. $8+ for an average sandwich and that's without cheese. There is one guy always on the sandwich line while the other workers that are frying standing watch the grease. Seems completely inefficient. They've recently change the menu and no longer have the turkey burger so now they only sell beef or chicken would you can get pretty much anywhere. Sad to say but I won't be back after several attempts I won't be back. Burger 7 was clean, modern and fast. Menu has signature burgers, build your own burger, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and even cheese steaks. They have some pretty unique signature sandwiches and you can dress up a "build your own" a hundred different ways. I just went with my Classic: American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. BBQ sauce on the side. The burger was better than McDonalds but not as good as five guys. Somewhere in between but leaning more towards 5 guys then an actual fast food joint. The fries were actually really good! Seasoned shoestring fries that were definitely cooked to order. Crispy and piping hot.
