Having driven past this place enough times, I felt like I owed it to myself and the Carytown Gods to finally give it a shot. Unfortunately I wasn't terribly impressed - but understand why other people really enjoy it, so don't let my review get you down! My burger was just okay - perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing for my taste buds, but I almost expected a bit more pop from the toppings/aoili to blend in with the burger. Was a bit let down by the side salad as well, just some lettuce and dressing. I was there alone at the bar and the place was fairly empty so I often felt like the bartender was hovering over/watching me. Anyways... maybe just not my favorite, but has some unique flavor and topping combos for all those burger-loving bros out there, so if this is your place, I say more power to you :)

Joined on New Years for lunch after the Cone Parade in Carytown. Service is excellent.

The service was a little slow, but she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the auklander burger and a large fry with tzatziki sauce and garlic pesto aioli. The burger was fantastic!! It was cooked perfectly and very flavorful and juicy. The sauces were both delicious. The fries were good but wish they had been crispier. It's a great spot for a quick lunch.

I'll be honest and say this place wasn't my first choice. I wanted to Carytown but they were closed. Was in the mood for a burger and they had plant based so gave it a shot. The staff was super nice. We were seated quickly. I got a lemon drop martini and it was okay ( I am super picky about my lemon drops lol). The food was delicious! We got a bunch of fries too enough to share between two people. We got a couple of dipping sauces and they were delicious as well. The bathroom was nice and clean. There was plenty of space in the restaurant. I will most definitely eat here again.

Love this place, sad the others have closed. They have a parking lot for easy parking rather than the street. I always do a make your own burger & it's always great. Their fries and garlic aioli are why I come though. All the servers are great, I often am served by Valerie who is friendly & speedy. I've also had their spinach and their broccoli sides and liked them. The spinach artichoke dip is good too

We came in with a reservation and waited ~30 minutes to get our order taken. I ordered the South Lamb burger, which was good. We also got their fries, which were perfectly crispy and fluffy. I'm not sure if it was an off-day but the service was alright, it felt like our party had to wait to longer than expected to flag down our waiter.

North Lamb Burger and side salad

The service was wonderful! Our waiter was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He really made the experience so awesome. The ambiance is typical for a laid back burger place. The food, however, was not the best or worst. It was average. All burgers come with a side salad, which is fine. However, the side salad is not filling at all, but it was delicious. To get fries is extra, which is disappointing. My burger was okay and average. My parents got the burger with lamb and it looked like the lamb patty is not fresh - comes frozen in a box and you heat up on the grill. Honestly, for the price it was a little disappointing. Not sure if I'll be back in the future.

Should we anticipate a long wait for dinner here on Saturday evening?

I took my daughter to go see Mamma Mia and I was able to get reservations for dinner. We got early reservations for 5:30, there were only a couple of tables with patrons but by the time we left if filled up. It's such a chic spot, I wonder why we don't come here more often. My daughter also enjoyed the ambience. We started off with Pimento Croquettes which were super light and I loved the pimento cheese spread it came with. My daughter actually ordered the creste di gallo pasta which was delicious. The waitress did warn us of the spice (my daughter doesn't love things too spicy, so they recommended the burrata with it)... it ended up being too spicy for her lol so I swapped with her. She ended up eating my Roasted Pork Loin with curried spaetzle which she loved and I did too (no worry we had leftovers of both which I will probably end up eating lol ). My only complaint was that both dishes were a bit lukewarm... I thought both were flavorful but I would've loved if they were hotter. I have a thing with piping hot food. All in all it was great and I will need to come back soon. Side note, we went to Shyndigz for dessert after, which was super close so that was nice.

This is the restaurant in the lobby of the Omni, and their room service menu has a really solid variety. Appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, fish, chicken, steak, seafood, other meat options, plus plenty of sides and desserts. There's something for whatever mood you're in. For my appetizer I ordered the fried green tomatoes. I'm very picky about fried green tomatoes because if they're not done right, they can be greasy and heavy. These were not. They were thick wedges of firm green tomatoes in a light batter, stacked with a spread of pimento cheese and finished with a drizzle of honey. The balance of savory and sweet worked really well, and the texture was exactly what I look for -- crisp outside, tender yet firm inside. For my entrée I chose the roasted lamb rack. It came as two double ribs over a sweet potato purée that had a subtle hint of cinnamon -- really nice flavor without being overpowering. The lamb was cooked to the right temperature, juicy and tender, with a light chimichurri and vegetables alongside. I also ordered the grilled corn succotash as a side -- corn, beans, and tomato. It was fresh and bright and complemented the richness of the lamb perfectly. This is my second time dining here. The first time I had breakfast out on the Westham Porch, and both experiences have been very pleasant. The service has been consistent, the food is thoughtfully prepared, and it's a great option whether you're dining downstairs or ordering up to your room.

We landed on The Roosevelt, and I can confidently say it was one of the best meals I've had in Richmond. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but we managed to snag two seats at the bar. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly and welcoming maître d', setting the tone for the evening. The bartenders were equally impressive eith one a true Chatty Cathy, the other more reserved, but both were masters of their craft, creating unique and distinctive cocktails with ease. We started with the cornbread and maple butter syrup. My only complaint? Can a girl get a little more butter? The cornbread itself was dense, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Next came a small plate of squash served over sweet potato hummus. This dish completely surprised me. The flavor profile reminded me of Haitian cuisine, meaning it was warm, layered, slightly sweet, and carrying just enough heat to keep things interesting. It was creative, distinctive, and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. For our entrées, Jackie chose the steelhead trout while I opted for the scallops served pescatarian-style with ramp clam chowder. Let me tell you something: this was the first time in my life that I genuinely enjoyed clam chowder. The scallops were perfectly prepared, and the chowder elevated the entire dish. Every bite was exceptional. Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. We shared the chocolate chess pie, and it was everything you want in a chocolate dessert, a dense, fudgy, rich, and utterly decadent. It was so good that I went home, climbed into bed, and happily surrendered to a food coma. What stood out most was that The Roosevelt delivered on every level: hospitality, atmosphere, creativity, and execution. The meal was worth every dime, and I will absolutely be bringing visiting friends and family here in the future. For anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience in Richmond, The Roosevelt has earned a permanent spot on my recommendation list.

Each & every dish was a culinary creative canvas that enticed, tantalized & totally enthralled our palates. For my cocktail I ordered The Seersucker, which was made with my favorite bourbon Four Roses. The drink was velvety smooth & a soothing complement to my food. As our appetizers we ordered Cornbread, the BBQ Spiced Chicken Wings & the Chicken Fried Pig Ears. Everything was absolutely delightful. The pig ears were an especially nice surprise as they were melt in your mouth tender & full of flavor. There was a horseradish sauce accompanying the pig ears & the sauce was creamy & not overpowering with horseradish flavor[i don't even usually like horseradish but this dish truly gave me a new experience of that flavor]. I would definitely order the pig ears again. The Cornbread was cute & tasted like cornbread I grew up in the Country eating. I could eat a whole skillet of the cornbread. The chicken wings were tender & nicely seasoned. I really enjoyed the white BBQ that was drizzled over them. As our Entrees, we ordered 2 Catfish & 1 Flounder Catch of the Day. Both dishes were delicious. The fish was not overly seasoned, as I so often encountered with seafood dishes, both dishes allowed the diner to actually taste the depth & simplicity of the fish. Both dishes are also items I would order again. Our server was courteous, attentive & knowledgeable concerning menu item choices. When it was time for us to leave, as I think we stayed way past the dining allotment time, the hostess was very respectful in explaining to our table there was a reservation behind us. I appreciate that type of honesty & treatment in a dining facility. As mentioned so many times previously I will be returning to The Roosevelt. They have definitely made a fan out of me.
