My daughter and I went here for our monthly burger; we agreed, the burger was hands down the best burger we have ever had. We ordered onion rings and waffle fries for our sides and they were excellent. The prices are reasonable, the food is cooked to order and the staff is friendly. Burger places are a dime a dozen. This one is slightly above average. Nothing was extraordinary. All was above par. But there were a limited number of different styles of burger and they weren't very imaginative. Everything came out pretty quick and tasted fresh. That being said, the prices are phenomenal. That's really where they shine. We got two burgers and split a side of tater tots. When it came time to pay the lady said it was 9 dollars and change. I stopped her and said she rang something up wrong. But she didn't. That was the actual price. I was shocked and amazed. The place is nothing to look at but it is very clean, quiet and the staff is both friendly and helpful. I ordered the chicken philly, my wife ordered the steak philly, and my daughter ordered a hamburger. Everything was cooked to order so the food is very fresh. The chicken philly was tender and very tasty. My wife loved her philly too. My daughter ate up all her hamburger quickly and said it was "supreme". Whatever that means, she liked it and I suppose that is a high mark from a 6 year old. I read the other reviews and tried the fried mushrooms. They were wonderful. You definitely have to try them. "What Happened"? When BB changed ownership in 2017 my wife and I gave them a try and I wasn't too happy with the change to my favorite burger (Big Boy). Some kind of "secret sauce" had been added that somewhat resembled Thousand Island dressing. So then my go to burger became a simple double hamburger with lettuce and tomato with seasoned fries and a Coke Zero. No problem. Until yesterday! We noticed some new employees behind the counter, no big deal. We placed our orders. Mine was the same as always and my wife ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger with a side salad. We were given our drink cups and that's when we noticed that there was no longer any Coke Zero. BB had switched to Pepsi products! We decided on the sweet tea which was OK but I prefer a Coke (no Pepsi) or a root beer with my burger. Next we proceeded to pick a table and wait for our order to be brought out to us. This was our next disappointment. Clean tables were few and far between. Not only had they not been wiped down but you could see that they hadn't been "cleaned" either due to all of the smudges and fingerprints! Oh yeah, the floor needed to be swept, too. Alright, we've ordered and paid for our food so let's just eat and leave. Here's the next and final blow to our lunch. My seasoned fries were way too salty for my taste and the burger patties (still handmade) tasted off, can't describe it. My wife's burger tasted off as well. Her salad was a letdown too. You used to get salad served on a real plate but now it comes in a very small Styrofoam bowl which made it difficult for her to cut her cucumber slices and mix in the dressing. Oh no! You might think "what else could go wrong?" Well, the salad bowl was rounded on the bottom, what!!? And, THERE WERE FLIES! Tell me Burger Boy, are you trying to run off customers? Guess what? You've succeeded! We'll just have to look for a consistently good burger eatery elsewhere. read more

My husband talked me into going here. I thought to myself it was just going to be ordinary "diner food" but it was much better than ordinary diner food. Unfortunately we've hit a few speed bumps with our favorite burger place. Strike 1 was getting the wrong order, and a woman at a table a ways from us waved and called out that she got ours, since she was happily eating my order, I ate hers but was not happy. Strike 2, again the order was wrong, they young lady taking the orders must have been new and my medium rare was very well done but I gave her a pass. Strike 3, the burgers are getting smaller. Last week, not medium rare and considerably smaller than before. It was still yummy so I will go back again, but if the small burger wasn't a fluke, I will be disappointed. Stay tuned. My son and I went down for our eclipse trip from ma. Stopped to get gas and asked for a 'real burger' place. Meaning no fast food chain restaurants. Well worth seeking out. Just off the downtown area of Murphy. This has to be the best burger in Cherokee County. Opted for the Big Boy which I think I have seen described as their version of the Big Mac. Wrong! The clown never made any thing like this. It's more like what you would get if that other Big Boy had done steroids. 2 generous fresh ground pattys dressed with a fresh garden and a little thousand island dressing. I was really hungry & who doesn't love a good burger! This was rated really good so I thought what could go wrong? I started my order by asking if I could get a burger Med rare & she said yes! So I ordered it with LTO & mayo on the side . If it's juicy enough I don't need mayo, I just order on the side as a back up. They were very busy & we had to wait about 15 min. They brought us our burgers & leave. I look under the LRG top bun which was cold & hard, only to find a burger half the size of the Bun & cooked med well I don't like to complain (cause you never know what their going to give you for complaining) So I go for my back up & no mayo I go & ask for mayo & they gave me some.
