Was out in San Jose coming back from Bass Pro Shops and decided to go to Holder's for lunch. Glad we did! I had the chicken club with the chicken and rice soup, both very delicious! Our waitress Phyllis was extremely nice and took good care of us! My wife had the turkey melt and loved it. Would love to try their breakfast, next time!
Had the Supreme Omelette with pancakes. Also tried the Carne Asada Tacos Supreme Omelette came with "Spanish Sauce" which really kicked this already good omelette up a notch. The addition of linguica set this omelette apart from others. They were generous with the fillings which included bacon, sausage, ham, mushroom and both Jack and cheddar cheese (held the bell peppers). The Spanish Sauce had onions and bell peppers; a little oniony sweet with the slight tomato flavor. It's like a cross between a light gravy and salsa. The pancakes were ok; a little dense. Also came with half a plate of perfectly grilled hash brown that's crispy outside and soft inside. The Carne Asada plate from the small plate section was not small at all. It came with two soft corn tacos filled with marinated slices of beef topped with onions and cilantro. Came with yummy red rice and refried beans. The red rice was really good. The Carne asada was also well marinated with tasty beefy flavor but a bit dry so kind of chewy. It also had a side of salsa verde which was also good which added the tart flavor and a little kick. They offer the omelette in a healthier option called Ketogenic Scramble which had all the protein but no Spanish sauce, and had a bowl of mixed fruits instead of the pancakes and hash brown. They have really good serving size. Reasonably priced especially for the amount of food they give you. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food came out so quickly, too.
Holders Country Inn is one of my favorite places for breakfast, especially when I'm craving something on the healthier side. They offer great options like the keto scramble and the protein scramble -- both flavorful and satisfying without feeling heavy. Gabby was our server and she was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and just easy to interact with. She made the meal even better. Their coffee, sourced from Peerless Coffee, is excellent. It has this subtle honey-like vibe that makes it really enjoyable, especially with breakfast. It's a true local spot, so it can get busy at times, but it's worth it. Solid food, great service, and a comfortable place to start the morning. I'll definitely be back.
What a cute little spot. This reminds me of the diners my grandparents used to take me to when I was little. Decided to stop by for brunch and it was lovely. There is plenty of parking and the place is large with lots of seating. I was very happy that they seated us in a cute round booth. Our server Phylis was attentive and helpful. She also had a fun + festive outfit that I enjoyed. This place gives family vibes all over and it was decorated soooo CUTE for the Christmas /holiday season. I really like how they have old school glass figures and decorations through out the restaurant, the vintage appeal gives it a "home-y feel". For food we ordered the French Toast with berries and Biscuits with gravy. My French Toast was LOVELY. It looked beautiful and tasted FANTASTIC. It was sooo satisfying and it is definitely something I would love to have again. :) I really like how they decorate it with a flower shape accent on the plate also. Turns out the flower was made of butter! lol. Very cool I thought it was whip cream at first. lol. My boo didn't love the biscuits with gravy plate but let's be honest biscuits are risky at most places anyway. lol. Overall this is a cute, home-y, casual restaurant that is the perfect place for a nice breakfast, lunch, or brunch with your family + loved ones. They also have the cutest little bakery in front when you walk in, I wish I would've had time to check it out but maybe next time. :)
So good here!! The food was spectacular and the kind and efficient service makes this place a gem! Recently stumbled on it after taking on a new job and finding this new-to-us place to be very close by and convenient! The ambience was welcoming, clean and well-spaced. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner all day. And being from the East Coast I love when I can find a diner style restaurant that offers great classics like a delicious patty melt and an open face, hot turkey sandwich. The turkey was fresh and well roasted and authentic. We even walked out with a full chocolate cream pie for our Super Bowl party get together at a very reasonable price! Thanks Holders! Will be back soon!
It was mine and my mom's first time at Holder's. She ordered a mimosa, which was huge! For food, she ordered a tuna melt with fries. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with hashbrowns. The burrito was decent sized. It had huge slices of avocado, refried beans, eggs, and chorizo. So delicious! I could only manage to eat a little more than half of the burrito. The staff were all friendly and very attentive. Their menu is large, which features both breakfast and lunch items that you can order at any time. There's plenty of seating. It's rather a large place. Everything was clean and orderly. I will definitely remember this place when I'm in the area and I'm wanting a quality breakfast or lunch.
Back again with another 5 star. It's still my favorite place to grab a New York steak for breakfast, and customer service remains great!
Great go to place in south San Jose. I can only speak for the breakfast as I have only had breakfast dishes here. Went with a group of 7 (sorry only got a photo of 3 dishes): berries and cream French toast, sausage and egg platter with pancakes, and chilaquiles. I was the one who ordered the chilaquiles; that is my usual go to breakfast savory dish. Menu said red sauce but when I got my breakfast it had green sauce. I didn't want to wait for only my breakfast to be re-made so I just ate it. Green sauce was too tangy for my liking. When we got the receipt, it was confirmed it said red chilaquiles. Other than that, service was great and all other dishes were great!
So I came to Holders country kitchen I haven't revisited or been here for about 12 years . So my family decided to come back here and eat some brunch . I was really disappointed the chicken fried steak and eggs wasn't good at all the chicken steak was so dry it was like they took out of the freezer and then tried to microwave it wasn't good at all . The Bloody Mary wasn't up to standards they didn't add extra pepper or spice it was just so bland . The children's meals was the only melas that were cooked and tasted very well . So my steak in the salad was so hard to even cut. , the y steak prices were so huge in my salad I could just eat them I needed a knife so I could eat them but the downfall is , The steak was so rough and took forever to cut with the sharp knife they gave me . I won't be returning again . We spend about 180$ not worth it we should just picked something else to eat . So sad because I was really excited to enjoy and nice meal ..and revisit this place :(
Breakfast is the most important meal of a day, so I've heard and I agree! Been coming here for a while. Plenty of parking, sometimes a small wait but there is counter dining to accommodate. We have our favorites & enjoy the unlimited cafecito. Whether you sit inside or out in the patio, service is ready to refill you in anyway necessary. Generous servings of food come out hot off the press in spacious white plates made for slicing, twirling, or condiments holding. Parking is plenty for peak Breakfast time or any meal in the day. We will be back very soon !

My favorite diner in all of San Jose This diner will always have a special place in my heart. workers are so amazingly nice it the vibes this place gives is going to grandmas house. It's so cozy I always order: The Garden Omelet and add sausage Substitute the toast for pumpkin pancakes Chocolate pancakes for my son! What a delightful place to bring family. Haven't been here since 2022 and I am happy to return!! The energy here felt like I was eating at a relatives home. The availability on the menus were great. Yes, I said menus. Besides the regular menu they have a Mexican Style menu, Weekend Specials and even a Senior menu!! We are definitely returning for the nopales breakfast plate and pozole soon. This time I was craving bacon and crepes. The chunky monkey crepes plate was full of strawberry and banana slices with Nutella spread over three crepes. I added blueberries and it was fulfilling. The bacon I ordered on the side was baked to perfection. I love places that serve fresh made to order food. No reheat service here. Please look at the images I uploaded. We also had French toast that disappeared quickly. Hahaha!! Clean restaurant with great customer service. Rosalia was very attentive and her humor really made us feel welcome. Every time we come here we get treated like family. I've been coming to Holder's since I was young with my parents and now I go with my husband and daughter. With its clean environment and amazing service it's the prefect weekend morning place. I love their all day breakfast, specifically their French toast, pumpkin pancakes and chocolate pancakes. They also have great specials and lunch and dinner available as well. My favorite lunch item is their steak and avocado sandwich. I look forward to coming here for years to come. read more

It gets super busy here on weekend mornings but we were seated within 15 minutes. Everything tasted great. I would skip the crepe next though, the batter soggy and not much flavor. Hash browns, eggs and bacon were all cooked to perfection. Service was great. read more

The staff here was amazing! Everyone was so sweet and friendly. We came for an early dinner on a Friday evening, not too busy, we were seated right away. The food was great and really fresh. I got the Swedish pancakes which I have had before, really good! My boyfriend had the French dip which he liked but didn't love it. We would definitely go back for breakfast though! read more
Had the country fried steak and upgraded the toast/pancake that it comes with to a waffle for an extra $1. My hubbie and I shared the meal and they split it on separate plates for us without us even asking. The course fried steak was so yummy! Love the peppery flavor. I'll ask for a smidge more gravy next time. The waffle was perfectly crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside. All of the employees we interacted with were so sweet! I saw some reviews mention how it's older inside, but I personally love when breakfast joints have that classic breakfast joint feel. It's so homey and feels like a warm hug! Overall solid breakfast spot. The food was pretty good, however, it wasn't necessarily something to rave about. The service was okay - was checked in with 3 times, once for drink, once for food, and once for check which was fine as it was a busy day for them. Additionally, Was seated right when I walked in which was about 10 am on a Sunday for a party of 2. I did find the spot to be a bit expensive for the quality. read more
This place is underrated! I know people tend to visit breakfast spots that are more "Instaworthy" but I don't have time for that as a new mom. I used to wait 60-90 mins for breakfast spots but never doing that again. The food here is just as good or even better than the places with a more modern vibe. The interior of this place is more home-y. I recommend this place if you want to have breakfast or brunch on a weekend with no wait! Sometimes we just want to get on with our day :) read more

I ventured into this rather large breakfast restaurant in Blossom Hill for Sunday brunch. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The service was what you might expect for a large outfit, and it was relatively quick and no nonsense at the counter seats. The coffee was average. I ordered my typical California eggs Benedict without Canadian bacon (poached easy), and a side of churro French toast for this review. The eggs were cooked fine, but the hollandaise sauce was a little watery and not as buttery. The hash browns were cooked nicely with a nice char on top, but not burned. The churro French toast was a bit cold and hard. All in all, a mediocre breakfast jaunt. read more
