    Double bacon, cheese burger
    Manuel C.

The burger was delicious, with a nice large serving of onion rings on the side. I also ordered a whole no sugar added apple pie to take home, which everyone enjoyed. My only complaint was the soda machine, I tried the diet coke, no taste, not enough of the syrup mixed in.

Classic comfort food spot with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. The burger was juicy and satisfying, and the peach pie and strawberry pie were honestly the highlight of the meal. Fresh, sweet, and worth saving room for.

Indoor dining area can fill up quickly. Only 5 tables that fit 4-6.

The bathroom code is 1234 as of March 2026. Cheeseburger is made out of fresh ingredients, though I would only order a single patty next time, not a double patty. There was so much lettuce and tomatoes on top of the double patty cheeseburger with fried egg that it made it difficult to fit into a bite. The patty, cheese and fried egg were delicious. Onion rings were delicious. I asked for a side of ranch for dipping and they gave it to me. Blueberry cheesecake is pretty rich and a tad too sweet for my tastes. Good, but I would try a different slice of pie next time. There are only five tables in the dining area that seat 4-6, so it's possible when it's busy that there is nowhere to sit for dining in.

Nation's is finally open in the Cahalan plaza. There are only a few tables inside for the customers. I ordered the breakfast food and it was good. The chocolate milkshake is amazing.

Cherry cheesecake that has been sitting in the cooler for too long.

I was very disappointed with my first and only experience at Nations Restaurant. The overall quality did not meet expectations. The wait time was much longer than expected, and when the food arrived it was not fresh and lacked flavor.  I understand that restaurants can have busy days, but I ordered 3 hot dogs and the buns appeared to be stale. The 3 pieces of pie looked lovely; however, the cherry cheesecake seemed like it had been sitting in the cold case for quite some time because the cherry topping was stiff, which made it seem old. Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. I would not return based on this experience and hope improvements are made in the food quality.

Well they finally opened. They are here Nations Burgers and shakes and pies. The burgers are big and delish. The fries are nice and crunchy. The shakes are pretty good. Next time I will order the slice of pie and take one home. Over all the place is SMALL. 3 tables and two booths. They should have put a counter with chairs. Oh well!! Max Occ 48 people OMG. South San Jose Ca has a lot of people living here and we all love a good cheese burger with fries and milk shake. They will be busy all the time. Breakfast also on the menu. That will be another visit for my stomach. The service was 5 star level. Everyone smiling and happy to serve all of us hungry customers. I noticed they have a ramp on the entrance for the physically challenged in a wheel chair. They will be definite competition to the local burger places around. Specially with the breakfast menu. GAME ON!! Glad Nations is the new business on the block.

Took 45 minutes to get our food and we were the only ones there. Food was bland and underwhelming. Won't be back.

This is their current location, but I don't think it's their permanent place of business. Just for the time being. Google maps will take you to a parking lot entrance that's closed, blocked by a chain, so make sure you enter the parking lot on Locust Street. I ordered online, and the wait time was a bit long (20+ minutes) but not terrible. And once you arrive, there's a sign near the parking lot directing you to walk down an alley-like path. No signs at the door, just a dumpster outside. Yup, that's where you pick up. It feels like you're walking through the back door of a restaurant kitchen. Actually when you step inside, it indeed IS the kitchen which doubles as a pickup spot (no seats, no signs, I just showed the guy my order on my phone and he handed me my food packed neatly in a paper bag). I got the perro loco which comes with fries on the side, and an arepa with cheese. I didn't like that customers can't customize items when ordering online for pick up. Also wasn't a fan of the pineapple sauce, though I think that's one of the things they're known for. But the hot dog was still good, generous with the toppings and certainly unique. The sausage was plump and juicy with a mild flavor. The fries were delicious as well, and didn't taste cheap. And the mini arepa with cheese was buttery and had a nice texture. Altogether it made for a filling meal.

The menu is extensive with a mix of options (including a vegetarian burger). I ordered El Apto which came with a beef patty, bacon, shredded chicken, lettuce, tomato...all between a brioche bun. This came with fries and a side of pineapple sauce and apto sauce. I dipped my fries in the apto sauce and it was so good! The pineapple sauce goes well in the burger and also on the fries. The beef patty was perfectly seasoned and so juicy. All the flavors were amazing and tasted so fresh. I loved the crispy bacon and the shredded chicken. The chicken was well flavored and they put an ample amount on top of the burger. Wow! What a great combo. I also tried the maracuya (passion fruit) drink and it was so good! I like that it wasn't too sweet. It's fresh and refreshing. They are pretty busy because it's their opening so there might be a wait but it's totally worth it. There are tables around for you to sit so it's casual. The owner is so nice and you can tell he is very proud of his food. Highly recommend!!

The hostess was very friendly and showed us to our table. We had a table inside, which was an intimate upscale casual area with a bar. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for a starter. It was so hard to pick one because everything on the menu sounds so good. Alas, I have a small appetite. The mushrooms were very tasty and a nice start to our meal. For entrees, we had the halibut and prime filet with a side of broccolini. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Drinks are on the pricey side- I had a Hero Old Fashioned and the Taylor Made, $20 each. They were nicely crafted, so worth the price. They brought out a Carmel Popcorn Sundae for my husband's birthday and even gave him a birthday card which I thought was a nice touch. Service was slow and steady. We had ample time to enjoy our food without feeling rushed, but never felt like our server forgot about us. We spent about 2 hours for dinner. Probably not a place to go if you're in a hurry. I'm eager to return and try some more of the starters. It's the kind of place I'd love to take out of town guests - high quality fine dining in a casual and relaxed environment.

The restaurant had a nice visual ambience, but also felt casual as there was a lot of chatter, which isn't a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Our waiter was especially friendly and helped us decide what to order. I really wish I could remember his name, as I'm posting this a bit late, but he was a huge reason why we had a great experience! Here's a quick rating on the food itself: Stuffed mushrooms (3.5/5): This was recommended by the waiter as a favorite among patrons. The mushrooms weren't bad or anything, but for some reason, it gave me combination pizza vibes that I wasn't expecting. It was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again personally. Bone-in ribeye (5/5): an amazing cut that was cooked perfectly. Exactly what you would expect from a good steakhouse. The compound butter was fantastic! Bone-in apricot glazed pork chop (3.5/5): this one may hit different for different folks. The pork was perfectly cooked and juicy, but the apricot glaze was definitely a little too sweet for our palettes. If you're looking for something more savory, I might try something else. But hey, sweet might be your thing too! Caramel popcorn sundae (4.5/5): we got this one complimentary for being our special day, which was a really nice surprise! And it was a full serving! This one was obviously sweet, but surprisingly more subdued than it sounds, which was really nice! Overall, it was truly a memorable night with great food. And though some things didn't quite work for our palettes, I can totally see that it may for others--so that didn't impact my ratings because they were still good--just not for us. That said, the care that we received on our anniversary was what truly made me land on a 5/5 rating. Definitely coming back for future special occasions!
