We have been through the drive-thru late at night many times after basketball games, and this visit really stood out. The service was phenomenal, so much so that I tried to complete the survey on the receipt, but it wasn't working, so I wanted to make sure I still left a review. The manager on duty was incredibly kind, patient, and professional. They greeted us with a great attitude, made sure our order was correct, and the whole experience felt welcoming and well-run. You could tell they cared about both the customers and their team. After a long night of basketball games, that level of service really made a difference. The food was fresh, the order was accurate, and the positive attitude from the manager made the whole stop feel easy and enjoyable. Great leadership and excellent customer service! Service at this location was horrible. I placed an order in the mobile app and added bbq to the sandwich. Please be mindful that the bbq added to sandwiches and dipping bbq are different. They charged me separately for bbq at the window stating that the app is incorrect. I paid the extra which I don't mind when I add condiments in the app for the dipping sauces. This chain did not participate in T-Mobile's offer of free Whoppers. When we asked why, the cashier said their computer couldn't handle the offer. We thought this was strange. I go here because it's near the office and I'm weak for an original chicken sandwich sometimes. I can't say they've ever botched an order when I've made special requests, but the food has been less than appealing many times. Especially the return of the chicken fries. Don't know why, but they taste foul here. Usually overcooked to oblivion; dried out husks of what might have been. Fries are usually hot, though, can't fault them on that. The worst place ever!!! I waited in line for 25 minutes while the employee was being rude to the ONE customer in front of me. The gentleman presented his tax exempt card to the cashier and the three people working there said they don't accept that. Customer service is usually lacking when I go here but today's visit is the final straw for me. I ordered a Whopper meal with onion rings instead of fries and when I asked for onion ring sauce they told me I had to pay extra for that. I asked why it would be extra and the gentleman, who identified himself as the store manager, said because I substituted rings for fries, the sauce is extra. I explained that it made no sense because I paid extra to substitute so why am I also paying extra for onion ring sauce for my ONION RINGS? At this point he was very dismissive of me and was basically telling me to beat it. I asked what his name was and he said he didn't have to give me that information. I asked what his boss' name and number were and he told me he didn't have to give me that information. This back and forth went on for a few minutes and I was fed up. Mind you, I'm not being loud or belligerent yet he still treated me as if I were not worthy of his time. I went to BURGER KING in Burtonsville, MD at 6:25 PM on December 5, 2012 and had them upcharge my meal without asking and then the cashier at the window actually told me they TELL her to ring combo orders up as medium BY DEFAULT. Then the manager told me it was only 50 cents different and asked if I really wanted to change. She couldn't even give me a new proper receipt, just my original receipt back. I checked my receipt and the menu and found that my meal should have cost $6.99 plus 6% sales tax (or $7.41) vs. the original $8.46 total. That seems to be a $1.05 difference, so they STILL ripped me off for 55 cents. It's not the money, it's the principle. I've seen this at other places and am now on a mission. Oh, and the Chicken Parmesian sandwich was not very good. Seemed like it had been sitting under heat lamps or had been microwaved to heat it up. The Customer service at this location is HORRIBLE. Well, let me be fair. The person who took my order was nice and cordial. What happened after that was where the experience goes down the hill from there. So I guess they don't have any trouble with their manager, they make you pay, and then you sit at the payment window until your order is ready. Then you are allowed to go to the next window. Now perhaps, because they know the person at the pickup window lacks customer service skills, they have to wait at the payment window so you will have little time as possible to deal with them. But when I go to pick up my order, I mentioned that I was missing a drink. The gentleman told me that it is not on the receipt. I said, okay, but I did order one. Then I asked could I just purchase it right then. His response was no, you have to get back in the line.( IS HE OUT OF HIS MIND?) The milk shake was the only plus for this location. Buns for the hamburgers and Whoppers were so dry. The patties were also hard with condiments on one side of the sandwiches! Add half a star for the kids running between the front and the kitchen while also helping their frowning mom figure out where items were located on the register as we slowly ordered in English. My wife and I eat lunch at this Burger King just about every day. We have always enjoyed good food there, and we order several different meals, and quick and polite service. Since it is one of the few stores left in the shopping center, it is never crowded, just what we look for when eating. Plenty of parking and very clean. Worst customer service ever! I went to the menu board and said Hello a few times. After waiting a few minutes with no response, I drove to the window where they normally take money. The window was open but when I yelled hello, there was no response. I drove to the next window and a young woman and young man were inside playing with their phones. I yelled Hello and the young man came to the window. I told him that I wanted to order some food, he said that I had to drive back to the menu board. I said that I was there a few minutes ago and no one responded. He then said that the woman had asked to take my order there. I said well I am here now and I want to order some food. He said that I could not order food at the window that I had to go back to the menu board. I said no, that he was acting like a jerk and wanted to speak to the manager. I went to the Burger King drive thru last night with my Mom. We order 2 milkshakes (chocolate and strawberry MIXED). The worker asked if we wanted one of each. I repeated that I wanted 2 milkshakes- strawberry mixed with chocolate. To my surprise the lady said there would be an extra charge!!!!! FOR WHAT?!?!?! What extra are you doing??? At that point we knew that we were not going to purchase the milkshakes but my Mom was curious so she asked how much extra. The lady told us a dollar for each shake!!!!!!!! Now, we've been here often and have ordered mixed strawberry and chocolate milkshakes. We have never, ever been charged extra.
